he is very articulate, and he is very thorough. he teaches you not only the concept, but he takes the time to quiz you, so that he knows how you are doing. he gives people chances, and he reviews very carefully, so that you will do well. an exellent teach

Best Teacher Ever.

All I know is I passed the math requirement to move on to a 4-year univ. Not sure if I would have if I had taken math 245 from someone else. Plotquin is a-ok in my book! He knows how it is and he wants to help.

Very clear and logical in his lectures. The tests can be challenging, so studying is a must. Lots of written homework, but it helps as a study aid. Funny guy...

Good lecturer. Took his class during the summer and had to drop because he gave 250 homework problems a week. If you take him during the summer, you better not have a job. You have to dedicate yourself to this class. But he is a very good teacher. Clear and helpful.

BEST TEACHER EVER!!! Tests are not so hard and you practice a lot by doing the homework. If you do your part you will do it well. Very helpful and accessible. I took Math 125, 240 & 260 with him and I got A's on all of them.

Great person, Great professor. He explains things one way or another 'till u understand the concept, if u still dont, then he will kindly see u during office hours. Lots of homework tough. I strongly recommend him, I took him twice, 112 & 121, and got A's on both.

white male and math have ZERO RELEVANCE. that comment is ridiculous and offensive. i'm a non-white FEMALE and i am kicking ass in the class because i do my homework. he goes over any questions you have trouble with and gives extra credit for attending the pi shop. he's a little quirky at first but he grows on you. hooray for professor plotquin!

Great Teacher I always love going to class. You have to understand basic math really well before taking this class. If you understand it, you'll have a great time in his class. Some have said he has a strange personality??! I think he is so funny and he teaches really well. You all should go back to math 105 and 112 so you'll get it.

Professor Plotquin is great. He assigns all the homework at the beginning of each chapter and and its due on chapter test day. Very helpful and used visual aides for those who need them. Older guy with a sense of humor. Only seems hard. As long as you do your work, turn it in obviously, and pay attention, you'll do great.

Prior to registering for this class, I used rate my proff.com so I could select the best, it turned out that those so called "best teachers" were taken.Anyway, I took Prof.Plotquin hopping for a miracle! I have to tell you, this guy really cares for his students success: He is very helpful even on-on-one basis, he arranged fo a mentor,etc...

Professor Plotquin is a good person and he makes a real effort to explain the material to his class. If people don't understand something he will re-explain. The coursework was really easy to me = easy A. My biggest complaint when I took him was his tests. On just about every test I found a mistake which I pointed out to him and he then corrected.

Precalc was my first math class since almost failing basic math in high school about 10 years ago. Never thought I could get an A in Precalc (with completely skipping trig!) and move on to Calculus. Hector is a very fair grader, nice person, and enthusiastic teacher who cares about his students and teaches the material thoroughly and enjoyably.

He's easy going. You'll feel comfortable in his class and will get good grades without much pressure and struggle! He receives late assignments and is pretty flexible! And I got an A :D

I've had this professor for Math 125 and Math 260, and I can say that his class is worth having. Attendance is a must. This man is very approachable if you have any questions or concerns about any particular material. In fact, he's the only professor I know in LACC that would generously review your MathXL scores. I highly recommend this professor.

Can be hard, if you don't give priority. If Math isn't your forte, then excel effort with Plotquin. His lectures are clear and ensures that you understand them. Goes back to it if you don't. You will have to study. Tips: Do your regular homework online ahead before deadlines/ Attend the class regularly/ Visit his office hours regularly.

Plotquin is very difficult but extremely helpful. I learned a lot in his class, more than I did in my last class. He does not hold your hand!!! So if you are looking for a "cool" or "chill" professor, look elsewhere. If you put in the work, you should get an A.

Excellent professor. Very concise, methodical, and wants his students to succeed. MathXL is a huge plus due to the program allowing students to study with an aid that the book simply doesn't possess. Great, great professor... wish I was taking him for 125 :/

Prof Plotquin is the best math prof at LACC. Math will be always hard because it requires discipline and practice. He cares about the students learning math and encourages group work which really helped me. I wish there were more teachers like Prof Plotquin!

extremely helpful and explains things in different ways so that if you didn't get it the first time, you can get it the second time. also very patient and always for the students not against unlike other math professors I have had at that community college.

Prof. Plotquin is really cool and funny. TIP: Visit his office hours if you get a low grade on the 5 online exams (using MyMath Lab), he will look over the ones you got wrong with you and give you points you deserve. No Extra Credit. Do ALL the homework and get good grades on the quizzes. The final is EASY; 10 questions but be sure to STUDY.

Plotquin is a generous professor. He is willing to overlook small mistakes on tests if it means bumping up your grade. His class put a lot of emphasis on teamwork (working on the whiteboards with your table). It was unorthodox, yet effective. I would recommend his class to anyone who keeps up with homework and attends class regularly.

Great Professor. I took him for two math classes and I passed both. Do the quizzes, homework & well on the tests & you're fine. All homework, tests, & quizzes are on MyMathLab (MyStatLab). The more work you show on tests the better. Overall great professor, not an easy A but not hard to pass his class. Best math professor at LACC! Highly recommend

He'll review your test with u & give u credit for work shown. Hw, Quizzes & Tests are done in MyStat Lab. Overall, I highly recommend. Worked hard & got an A

Plotquin is a great teacher. i was very hesitant to take his class but im so glad i did. It was my 3rd time taking stats, after failing it 2x. There's a lot of hw, but theres makeup work, group work, there's almost no way to fail the class. He uses mathlab as well. And after tests, visit his office he will go over it & give you extra credit. :)

I took him for 124A homework was turned in online. Encourages everyone to sit in groups to discuss math topics during class. He is willing to give partial credit! Very clear lectures. Funny at times. If he sees you are trying he will help you reach an A.

Great teacher! I studied a lot and I got an A in his statistics class. Hard work paid off and going to his office sometimes not being his office hours, did really help. I really appreciate the time he took to explain everything in detail. Best math teacher, highly recommend Prof. Plotquin!

If u dont study outside of class and use another source to teach u the material it will be hard But his class is passable How?DONT argue w him&show wrk on test for e credit Btw he bumps ur grade up at the end

I took his statistics class & he's by far the best professor I've had. I worked really hard & got an A for his class. Each test including the final is 10 questions. If u visit his office after the tests he'll review the exam with u & if there's a mistake & you've the answer correct he'll give u credit. He'll give u credit for work shown. Recommend

Professor Plotquin does a good job at explaining difficult topics in Math 260. This class requires a lot of self reading before class if you want to pass. Be prepared to work in groups.

He really wants his students to pass. There were some in my Pre-Calculus class who were failing and he gave them a lot of extra credit to pass. Even though I didn't need the extra credit, I really felt that I learned a lot. One of the nicest professors on campus.

O.K. Guys stop blaming professors for the things you don't do well. I took a class with this professor 2 periods ago, and yes, doubtless, he isn't the kind of teacher that teaches with plasticine, but he goes over every every topic and is eager to help during offices. I think he is a good professor for college level, forget about high school.

Professor Plotquin is really smart and nice. See him at office hours if u need help or get help from classmates. He gives practice quizzes before the actual test to help you study. He gives extra credit points if you do your homework & quizzes which really help you out. I enjoyed his class.

good teacher, work in groups while in class and is easy on grading your test

I took prof Plotkin for Math 115 a few semesters ago. Hes great. He goes into dept with each concept , make sure to take notes youll need them. I dont understand ppl complaining about him and his classes. He teaches, and grades like a college professor. This isnt high school, take some responsibility, stop being so sensitive and youll do fine.

Professor Plotquin made me love Math. He is the best math teacher I ever had . Lectures are easy to follow and tons of practice too. If you really want to learn math, he is the right teacher to take. He is very patient and understanding too. I highly recommend him.

Prof. Plotquin is a real gem. He's not the easiest professor but if you show up, put in the work, and try he'll be there for you if you ever have a question. 100% recommend.

Prof plotquin's class is specifically designed to make students fail. you must work in groups and must communicate to solve problems which are not taught very well to begin with. if your shy and not good at math you are certain to struggle and stressout. Worst of all test reviews are useless and are nothing like the actual exams.

Glad I took him for calculus. Tests were very similar to the homework. He tried his best to make it easy for everyone. Only about 4 people dropped unlike other sections, and he is flexible with due dates. Homework and tests are online, so you do have to buy the book, but I would definitely recommend him.

Ill begin by saying Im not good at math whatsoever. I worked hard and the professor saw that. My first exam was a C but I slowly worked harder every time. He was very kind and recognized hard work from students. He allows formula cards on exams. Ended up getting an A in calculus I. Awesome professor.
