He's impossible.
Horrible Professor, you will not learn a thing, very heavy accent. I hated his class. Don't take him, he's very annoying.
The worst professor I've ever had. Very poor skills of the English language make you wonder how he got to teaching. He's lessons are nothing but non-sense.

Professor Bembenutty is a little "nutty" but has a good heart and genuinely wants his students to learn and succeed. His class is demanding; if you are willing to put in the time and effort, you will earn his respect, friendship, and A+.
Very hard professor. Lots of work but it will make you think and become a teacher who is effective in a classroom setting. Accent is a challenge also.
I got a B in his class, which was fair considering I missed so many classes. However, he is very strict with attendance and punctuality. His course requires a lot of work but if you follow his directions you will do fine. He is definitely a sweetheart.

His accent is not that bad, you can understand what hes saying but hes a lot of work! I dropped his class the next day, his syllabus was 10 pages long double sided!! HEs entertaining with his funny stories but its really not worth it
Fentabibity = sensibility But I don't want to bust on his accent... His 10 pg syllabus is confusing to the point of bewilderment. He is unhelpful even when he tries to help because he is unclear and contradicts himself. Nice guy but a damn lousy prof.
This professor overloads students with email reading materials. He is extremely confusing and his heavy accent makes it difficult to understand what he says. He is a lovely person, knows his subject but not how to teach it. Avoid him.
i would NOT recommend this prof. to anyone!! i dread receiving emails from him(which are about 4 a day!) overloads w/ work!!(i don't mind work when i think it's productive!! his assignments are nonsense and gives ALOT of them) STAY AWAY!!

All i have to say was that this class was a waste of time. I LEARNED NOTHING!!! Yes I do better in classes when I have a lot of work to do as long as its meaningful. I actually think he's a nice guy but way to into himself. Take someone else don't put yourself through the pain.

this is the best professor at Queens Garbage. he is so helpful, willing to do anything to help you with anything he could. if people dont learn anything in his class then they must be really stupid cause you can learn alot, get a good grade and have someone on your side.
he suck, and he thinks he is all that, he is very strict when it comes to grading papers, and he does not speak good english hinself. so think about it, why should you have some idiot who does not speak english correct your papers. I hope he gets fire soooooon.
You will learn enough that you will not have to pay any attention in any other SEYS class. I got a B+ in this class and did absolutely no studying for my SEYS 350 class... A- He is very hard but you definitely learn a lot --- Don't become a teacher if you are that lazy!~
OMG!!!! I cannot believe that we sit around and talk about such NONSENSE and COMMON SENSE!!!! THIS CLASS IS ABSOLUTE TORTURE!!!! 3 1/2 HOURS OF REPETETIVE BASIC KNOWLEDGE!!!! We are not 18 years old!! We are adults with functional brains!! And please stop emailing us 5 times a day!
He's a good prof, gives a lot of work, but he truly cares about his students... will give you extensions on deadlines if you talk to him
Professor Bembenutty is very helpful, intelligent, smart, respecful, fair, and we all understood him very well in the class. We like him. I recommend him to all of you.
Great guy..really cares about his students. Lots of work in his class and ALOT of group projects. U really get to know ur classmates because of him however.
He tells you everything you need to know. I don't think a prof could give you anymore info than him. He given prints out his lessons for you. He really cares about his students.

I like this teacher. He is fair and understands that students us. He is the kind of teacher you can talk to without being put down or feeling embarrassed. If you take his clas be ready to work hard but he will help you. I do recommend him.
I think he's one of the most helpful professors in the entire Sec.Ed.Dept. He truly cares about the well being of his students, and offers so much help. You're likley to get more out of him than your methods professor in my opinion. If you're willing to work hard, and learn, take him. He's an inspiring person!

One of the most caring and concerned instructors you will ever meet. Listen to him and see how much insight he has. I feel that many students are disrepectful toward him, but he never lets it show. He's a better man than most of the ones that mock his methods.
My experiences with this instructor were not very good, and frankly left me feeling disappointed. I did not find him as helpful as some of the other students on this site did.
He feels that everyone loves him, when they really don't. He is impossible and contradictory, telling students that they have completed assignments, but need to do it over. He has a terrible attitude and needs to follow his own critique and guide his students. Stop shutting us down and telling us we can't teach and should quit the profession!
Dr. Bembenutty is very helpful. He challenges us but he cares about each of us. He is an excellent professor.
His class is tough. But if you work hard, you will get payed off. After finishing his Educational Psychology with a hard work, you will be confident about that course. I strongly recommed him, if you want to learn about Educatioanl Pshchology and new techology for teaching at your school in the future.

Simply one of the worst teachers ever. Inane classroom exercises & written assignments; his speech is horribly incoherent, his view of education impractical, insular & dogmatic, and he speaks to graduate students as though they were kindergarteners. Most felt terribly uncomfortable just being in his presence & rejoiced at release from this agony.

for one semester, i typed over 150 pages for this course and the work was GARBAGE that will never be used again. You create worthless management plans. He teaches you how to teach without ever stepping into a high school class room. I dont see how anyone could like him. Expect your work life to suffer becuase of this class
Horrible professor... Hard to understand (his English SUCKS)... He takes 5 minutes to say something that you could say in one sentence... Not knowledgeable whatsoever... EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!!
The worst professor at Queens College!! If you are a person of strong opinions than don't take his class. He makes you write the same papers 20 different times in 20 different ways. If you have to take him I feel sorry for you, if you can hold off for another professor please do so!
If you value your sanity, do not take this man especially for a summer class. 2 papers (both avg 15-20 pages); 1 very difficult mid-term & an easier final. He is interested in mostly his own theories. Be prepared to do a TON of repeatative in this class. Hold out for a different prof if you can!
Excellent professor! It was a pleasure being in his class. He is the best professor. I learned a lot of things from him. Wonderful and caring teacher! Take as many classes as you can with him - I loved every minute in his classroom.

this professor made me want to jump off a cliff before i went to class. he is arrogant and rude. he tells us how to teach but does not practice any of the methods he preaches about. he is absolutely obnoxious and can be hurtful. if you value your sanity do not take his class. oh yea,if you dont like being hugged by strangers, don't take his class.

Eccentric.Took him over the summer,tough but taught me well.All paper requirements are listed in syll with bullets so its easy just to follow.Describe the theories,be clear,do all of his work ON TIME,and highlight/underline in the book you'll get good grade.KEEP his papers too and play along.Make sure to be personable,he'll notice you more positive
I think this man should be the chancellor of New York City. His love for teaching is so unbelievable. He is one of those professors that actually care. You will never forget anything because he will make sure you learn it. He will learn your name and if you dont participate in class he will make sure you speak all the time

Honestly you have to work in his class but he is the best teacher in the education department. Because of his class i passed all my teacher exam due to the information that i have learned in his class. He will make you a great teacher if you give him the chance too. Stick to the class worth all the work. People don't be lazy your goingtobeteachers
He uses too much surveillance on his adult students as if they are minors. I think he needs to relax. He could be very annoying with those that he doesn't like.
The nicest guy. But the portfolio he made us do is the most useless piece of crap ever. I showed my cooperating teacher the dopey 'homework log' he REQUIRED us to use and she said "why would they do that? Is he out of his mind".

LOVED HIM! you will have to do work in this class. 3 quizzes which are more like tests, but he gave extra credit. Portfolio and group presentation was work. At the end it all paid off. He really cares about the students and is there to help when approached. Extremely intimidating at first, but once you get used to him he is great!

He likes to punish students he doesn't like by asking them to clean the class or calling on you excessively. Portfolio is useless and too time consuming. He likes to hug his students and play inspirational music.

One of the worst Professor's I've ever had. Expect to do a tremendous amount of work for the portfolio. But the real problem is how he treats his students. We were treated as if we were 5th graders. He's completely inflexible and does not follow the guidelines he sets for how YOU should treat students.

Lots of work! He's willing to help you with articles & sit with you & review your work prior to grading. If you have an attitude, he'll put you in your place with a smile & mock you. Funny! Students that complain because of the workload & show disrespect, shouldn't take him. Work hard & show respect, the man is dedicated & you'll learn. Good man.
The best professors I have met lead by example. Bembenutty is NOT one of them. Also, instead of trying to force students to respect him he should try gaining their respect.

Strange but genuine professor. It is clear he loves teaching and tries to inspire future teachers to feel the same way. Most of the portfolio is pretty useless after the class is over, but its a department requirement. Overall, kinda odd but very fair grader, even though he's not always clear about what he wants.

If you can take this class with someone else, I recommend doing so. I do not understand the positive feedback given to this guy. He spends the bulk of the class time singing, dancing, and belittling his students. Also, we wasted an entire class session watching Freedom Writers to gain "classroom management skills." Utter waste of time and money

There are two sides to him. If you show up to him and talk to him one on one, he is the best professor in the entire school. He is very helpful, enthusiastic, and kind when you speak to him in person. In a class, he is out of his element and becomes very rude, disrespectful, and doesn't practice anything he preaches. I would never take this professor again. He chooses specific students to pick on every class and makes them feel like they're stupid. If you don't have the same ideas as him, don't even try, you're automatically wrong. Everything he says is correct and he's never wrong, don't try to ask questions because he'll make you feel dumb. I dreaded coming to his class every week. The man does not practice what he preaches (okay maybe sometimes), but not enough to warrant a good rating. He was always rude to my classmates. Some would have some very genuine and respectful questions and he would ignore them. He was also being emotionally manipulate once to avoid questions from students
his mdterm alone was super confusing!, we all had to argue for him to make the final easier which he finally did. hwoever he does give extra assignments if you get a low grade from the midterm

Dr. Bembenutty's class is fun and interesting. He truly does support his students in any way possible. He is so sweet and genuinely cares about each of us. He makes everyone feel special, modeling how we should treat our students.

Professor Bembenutty genuinely cared about everyone and was really nice and communicative. Participation does matter so it is recommended that you do show up to class. He also calls on people often, but if you're paying attention and you read the material, you should be good for the class. Overall 10/10

He is such a sweet and caring professor and super accessible outside of class which is great but he's just too confusing, even 1/2 through the semester i still didn't have a solid understanding of his expectations/assignments. He is a smart man and I wont deny his knowledge on the topic but his ability to verbalize them clearly isn't great at all.
Dr. Bembenutty is the best person and professor ever. He is amazing. He is kind and caring and understands if you have a problem. He wants you to participate, but the workload is not so hard. If you can take a class with him, you are fortunate. Strongly RECOMMENDED!

Whatever you expect to learn from a class titled "SEYS 350: Cognition, Technology, and Instruction for Diverse Learners", expect the exact opposite. This man is not qualified to teach anything, let alone an upper level course. Prof. Bembenutty prepares emergent educators to reveal to us how we can learn from each other. Learning about self-efficacy and self-regulation are major concepts discussed and if you take this class while doing ICE, you see a lot of the concepts apply in the classroom. Though direction can be confusing at times, talk with peers for clarification.
Honestly the worse professor I have ever had. Very rude to students, very unorganized and confusing in his instructions. If you ask questions, he gets upset and offended and will make it known. I am not sure how Queens College allows him to remain a professor here. Trust me and do not take him....

Profesor is a bit old fashioned, meaning he may come off as closed minded whenever he does make sure to question what he means by his comments. Very easy to talk to when work gets overwhelming and realistic about the hardships of the teaching profession. You have to work hard to figure out software assignments yourself!
