Failed me for being late with an assingment. Very rude and nasty individual.
Just to clarify the earlier comment - Prof B has never been rude or nasty. I am sure that if she was, it was just. Prof. B is one of the best Bio teachers, not only that but she is friendly, personable, and warm. She wants the students to succeed, and is always willing to help them.
Professor Borgeas is one of the most challenging, yet fair teachers at UT. Come willing to learn when you attend lecture and spend lots of time out of class reviewing your notes. You'll be amazed at how much you learn from her. She is wonderful and I would recommend her as my first chioce to anyone!
What a nasty, unhelpful, uncaring prof. She acts nice but REFUSES to answer your questions - she'll just respond with a question. Skips office hours. Not that smart - she has no idea how to explain things and the worst thing is, she really doesn't want to. Worst prof I've ever had, period.
She is an amazing professor. Very nice and willing to help you out. She just pushes you to learn things on your own rather than simply give you the answers. Learn a lot from her!!!
She is not an amusing professor. She never has time to thoroughly explain questions. Basically, she hands you the assignment and expects you to know what you are doing. She dosen't grade too hard but expects a lot of work. She is also very Out There!
expects you to read her mind - gives assignment, doesn't tell you how to do it, and then marks you off badly for not doing how she wanted it. when you ask for guidance, she says that she can only tell you what she doesn't want. is this teaching? no. this is being lazy and not caring.
unless you're an extremely accomplished bio student this teacher is not for you. very vague and expects you to be extremely profficient in excel to complete lab assigments and does not empathize if you are not. confusing and is not helpful when answering student questions (very vague).
Awesome!

Exceptionally hard. Impossible to follow, high expectations for an entry level biology class. Do not take her.
If you want to work really hard and still get bad grades take this teacher.
Ok, so you are a bio major right? Bio 204 Lab is a piece of cake, right? WRONG! This professor is so unclear and so unhelpful that most students want to throw themselves off of a cliff after leaving her class. I retook the class and am now earning nearly 100 percent in lab. Funny, huh?
Her lab is very hard...her quizes suck!
The class is really all lecture and she does everything by PowerPoint. But she really is a nice lady, most of the time.
NEVER available for her students despite what she says
I took Anatomy/Physiology with Professor Borgeas for anatomy one and two. She is probably the most excited individual about this topic! I dont think there is a professor more willing to help than her. Obviously the class is hard, but its not her fault-the content is difficult.Study the ppts, read the chapters, and ask questions you will succeed!:)
Professor Borgeas is by far my favorite anatomy teacher. She is happy and always ready to help you out. It may be her Hawaiian style.. But I suggest her for anatomy although overall, it is a tough course. I had her for anatomy one and two and you will need to study and study more (and more) for a decent grade. No curves.
Prof Borgeas is a really hard professor but anatomy is hard regardless of the teacher. Fair teacher and extremely interested in anatomy. She is always excited. She doesn't give homework for lecture so study a lot and you'll do well.
Always excited and a lovely person. Her test are really hard and you need to study a lot. The part that is the worst is the "select all that apply" section
Great teacher! She is always so happy and excited, and is always eager to help you. Her tests are pretty hard, so study ALOT and you will do fine. The hardest part is the select all that apply questions on her tests
She is super sweet, always happy, and super helpful. Her exams aren't that bad except for her 'select all that apply section'. That section is the hardest. Always responds in emails promptly and is always available. She also loves endocrine system which is a pain. But, she's great!
I loved Professor Borgeas for A&P II. It is not an easy class but if you study and bust your butt for it you'll get the grade you deserve. Her lecture exams really are straight from her power points, so the textbook is less necessary although she will throw in a pop quiz sometimes. She's a tough teacher, but super fair, and the sweetest lady ever
Extremely nice and very helpful. Interacts with students during lectures to try and show better examples. Test are hard. Need to study a lot or will not do well. Gives you incomplete ppt. to bring to class. You have to attend lecture to complete them.
Professor borgeas is the best. sweet lady who is always willing to help. Anatomy is one of the toughest classes but she tries to explain everything for the conceptual AND visual learner. She is very enthused about her lectures and makes me want to learn more. Highly recommend.
Dr. Borgeas always tries to teach for every type of learner, visual, conceptual, anything. If you put the effort in, she will give the same effort in return. I send in my presentations and she reviews them and it brought my grade up around 15 points. She is super sweet and helpful!
I had professor Borgeas for both lecture and lab for Anatomy I. She is so enthusiastic about the material that she teaches and that in itself made me want to learn so much more. She explains things so well and she really cares about all of her students. Anybody saying otherwise probably and unfortunately wasn't willing to put in the effort.
Professor Borgeas is a very sweet lady. It was definitely nice to have a professor who was so nice and enthusiastic. The only thing I didn't like was how lecture heavy our classes were. Each powerpoint had between 80-100 slides and you never knew how much to actually study. It was hard to keep up with so much info and not knowing how in depth to go
Borgeas does give good feedback when it comes to exams and always being accessible to answer questions through her email, but she is an EXTREMELY wordy professor. It is hard to study for her exams because she includes a lot of unneeded information in her power point slides. You don't need text book so don't bother buying it.
I love her! She is very approachable and makes difficult material easy to understand. Online reading homework for every chapter. Exams about every 3 or 4 chapters. Very fair exams. When she goes over them, she shows exactly what bullet point the question came from in the PPTs. Always bring your iClicker to this class, its basically free points.
Lab practicals are hard, but fair. There are 4 of them. It is mandatory to have a minimum of 10 visits (not hours) to Open Lab. That is definitely the best way to study. There are homework assignments that have to be printed out and handed in. Make sure they are stapled ahead of time! All of the lectures are interactive, we played a ton of games.
Borgeas was a really nice teacher and genuinely cared about her students. That being said, her class was very hard and she is the hardest Anatomy professor at UT - she makes you learn a lot more than the other professors do.
Hardest Anatomy professor at UT - you are required to know more than any other professor/course. That be said, she's very nice and really cares about her students. Just get ready to put in A LOT of work for her class.
She gets a rep. for being the hardest anatomy professor at UT, however it is all up to you whether you succeed or not. Anatomy is difficult subject, no matter who is teaching it. Go to lab hours, you'll have to do at least 10 hrs anyway, study her ppts., bring icliker, and you should get the grade you deserve. It's all about the effort you put in.
Difficult class in general, but Borgeas makes it even harder. She comes off as nice, but is really passive aggressive one on one. If I could go back, I wouldn't take her unless I had to. Exams are tough, but honestly lab practicals are even worse. Clicker questions help. Lectures help too, but the class is always rushed and I constantly felt behind
Passive/aggressive during office hours, teaches way too fast, doesnt clarify any questions you may have
Professor Borgeas is an EXTREMELY passive aggressive person, I went to her office hours because I was struggling on her exams and it was clear that she had better things to do and was trying to get me out of her office as fast as possible. I ended up dropping the lab/lecture and wasting $400 on textbooks. If you have to take A&P stay away from her.
1/3 of the class dropped this semester. Really hard, but if you genuinely put in the effort you will be ok. Tests are directly from her powerpoints (but there's a lot of slides). Need to study a week in advance if you want to pass. She's kind of passive aggressive and sometimes has British accents and sometimes doesn't (weird).
Embodiment of Dolores Umbridge. Changes voice constantly to a triggering low passive aggressive tone. Majority of laboratories are thought by student assistants. Also ongoing rumor she hogs props from other staff. Take anyone but her if you care about your grades.
these reviews on Borgeas make me laugh so hard. I personally have never had an issue with her but I can see where people come from. She is truly one of the most knowledgeable, caring people I have ever met tbh. Advice: keep to your own, do your homework, show up to class, avoid office hours if need be, stay under the radar so she doesn't know u
Simple as dont take this class man. If you want good grades? Do Not Take This Class
This should be your last option please dont do this to yourself.
I took Borgeas for both A&P 1 and 2. She is totally passive-aggressive but if you study, and I mean give up your life to study for this class, you will do well. Not a terrible professor but she makes you work for your grade.
Overall, she's a very caring and a very knowledgeable professor. She is extremely lecture heavy and makes it hard to obtain all the information because it's way too much. That being said, tests are really hard to study for even with the study guides she posts. Although I passed this class, I was disappointed and felt like I hardly learned anything.
Not sure why Borgeas has "bad" reviews, she's literally so caring and sweet and is an easy teacher! A lot of students who say her exams are hard, don't read or do the study guide. Just make sure you know everything on the study guide and THAT is the exam. Easy A. ITS NOT HARD I PROMISE YOU. Compared to other A&P profs, EASY A.
I have her for A&P2 lecture and lab and yes they are HARD. For lab, the practicals are all fill-in your own answer and quizzes are the same. For lecture, tests are multiple-choice but have some select-all type. She is always there if you need help. Honestly one of the most caring professors. She doesn't make you feel stupid if you have a question.
Professor Borgeas is a very sweet teacher and means well. Her class has a lot of information to learn in a small amount of time. To pass the class, take as many notes as possible and study as if your life depends on it. Also take iClicker questions seriously because they can hurt your grade.
Prof Borgeas is a very nice and caring lady and wants her students to succeed. Even though it does not feel like that at all. You will spend all of your time studying for her classes and doing her homework that only leads up to you most likely failing or not doing as well as you thought you were going to do on her exams, feels like only class taking
Very nice, but used pre-recorded lectures to teach due to COVID and expected students to attend class already knowing all the material. Very hard on self-discipline and not a lot of room for error w her class. Would suggest using the mentor, she's a godsend. You need to read, you need to study, and go to mentor hours! She is okay, but lots of work
Lab was a lot of work and very test heavy. Ended up withdrawing and majority of students were failing. Due to COVID class is 50 minutes and she expects you to come to class knowing all the material and using class time as clarification on some topics. Not the best for those who aren't super disciplined/need lots of hands on time. Book is pricey too
Seemingly nice, but very passive aggressive. Would not say she genuinely cares about the grades of her students or progress in the course. She puts a lot of work on the mentor since she's aware most students prefer the mentor and learn better from her. Wouldn't recommend her, but if you have to be diligent and get a lot of outside help.
She is caring and very approachable. She makes you work for your grade. I studied at least 10 hours a week for this class.
Prof B is very passionate about anatomy. She did her best to make her lectures interesting and accommodated most types of learners. She has a lot of different ways you can get a good grade. She gave lots of quizzes and homework that helped my average stay up. The material she teaches is a lot and requires lots of studying and dedication.
Chaotic organization of homework and assignments. Does care about her students. Difficult and very specific test. Parts of the lectures you have to study alone instead of having taught to you in class. I'm a senior bio student who has gotten a 3.8 in recent semesters with many science courses. If you're a freshman DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
Acts like she cares about her students, does not consider that you have other classes. She is the most passive aggressive person ever, she makes you feel stupid. You do not have time to breathe, tests are extremely difficult. She loves trick questions, so you can study for 6 hours every night for an exam and still not pass. DO NOT TAKE FOR ANYTHING
Horrible. Does not care about her students. Mentors do everything she does nothing. Be prepared for no sleep, no personal life, or study for another class if you want a good grade. All she says is aloha and mahalo. Take literally anyone else. Exams are close to impossible. Schedules quizzes on days you don't have class and over holiday breaks.
One of the nicest caring teachers I've ever had. Yes this class is hard but its the content that it is hard. She tries very hard to provide resources for you in order to pass. 10/10 recommend for this class. She is just the nicest.
Not enough horrible things to say about her. If she's an option as a professor for any class you have to take, choose any other professor. The thought of seeing her twice a week makes me want to throw up. She made my semester a living hell. This should not be hard class, but she makes it ridiculously hard for no reason. I hope I never see her again
Mentors teach the class, Borgeas just sits there. She's nice, but not very helpful when it comes to teaching. At least 1 pop quiz every Friday. Lectures aren't helpful, if you spent the time studying instead of in class, you'd probably do better but you get extra credit for going so it's up to you. If you don't put the work in, you won't do good.
class time is spent mostly just reading through definitions and playing review games. studying outside of class is 100% necessary. there are 1-2 quizzes each week and 4 exams plus a cumulative final.
Would not recommend. She crammed us with so much information each class...THAT SHE DIDN'T EVEN TEACH. She had her mentors "teach" us everything and they often were confused and things were unclear. She had difficult quizzes every week proctored on blackboard at a time when your class doesn't even meet. Her exams were very difficult.
She has us watch lectures outside of class time then teaches the same thing in lecture. I taught myself the whole year. She's nice but wouldn't recommend her lecture style at all
Teaches way more information than what is on the test, and lectures are super confusing and boring. Super disorganized. I learned more from just watching videos about the subject and reading the textbook. Exams aren't hard, but they don't reflect what we know at all.
DrB is kind, but she can be condescending if you don't understand something and doesn't teach the class. She calls it a "flipped" classroom which is basically her excuse to be lazy and make you teach yourself everything. You completely teach yourself outside of class and then she has her mentors make a review. Exams are multiplechoice and openended.
Overall a very nice and caring Professor that is teaching a decently hard course. Two quizzes every week, three exams, and homework every week. You MUST stay ontop of her class in order to do well. Quizzes are randomized questions and tests are fair, however there is alot of material that requires you to teach yourself.
Prof B is a very nice and caring lady, however she can often come off EXTREMELY condescending. She expects you to know all of the information and terms prior to coming to class and pretty much all work is done outside of class. Honestly she quite literally does nothing to teach the class and has the mentors do it all. I would take again but beware.
Nice to me but have seen her act condescending to multiple other students. Quizzes are almost impossible to get good grades on. They're nothing like the material we're told to study. Class requires countless hours of outside studying just to hardly pass the quizzes and exams.
Whatever you do don't take. Very lecture heavy and countless of hours studying outside of class just to barely pass the exams. Barely passed the course with all the effort I had to put in. Not worth it and extremely stressful
So many quzzies and exams back to back, not understanding at all. had to drop because she made it impossible, take anyone else but her.
Very challenging class, does not teach you well (reads off slides), expect to teach yourself the terms (quizlet is your best friend) two quizzes to be completed by 5pm every friday and 4 exams and a cumulative final
You can easily succeed in her class, but you need to know or learn how to teach yourself. The content is very easy, but can be a lot. Prepare before class, use the lectures/quizzes to test yourself, and practice and you can easily succeed
Never again
Honestly, the worst teacher I have ever experienced. She is super unclear about what is on the exams, which makes it impossible to prepare. I barely pulled through after getting A's on the last three tests because she grades harshly. You have to teach yourself or you will fail. She's nice but don't take her, you will regret it.
I studied so hard for her tests and went to open lab. No matter what I tried to do, her tests were insane. I do not recommend taking her.
Its a tough class, but worht it.
I should've taken this class online if I knew I would have to teach myself everything. She basically just reads the slides off the power points and doesn't explain anything. She was there just to fill up space. I would never take this professor again. Save yourselves.
Prof Borgeas is so cute. She is so sweet and she is so soft-spoken. Sometimes I just want to run up to her and give her a hug in the middle of class. Her exams are tough, but, the course itself is hard, so nothing on her. I really enjoyed her this semester. I'm not sure why she has such bad ratings. I love her she is adorable.
I did not think this class was too difficult. It does require a lot of time outside of class studying because med term is mostly memorization. Borgeas was nice and prepared games for us to review the material in class. Tests were not bad either as long as you studied. Overall, fun class and nice professor
Prof B is probably one of the best professors I've had at UT. Lots of people don't like her because she is "hard" but she really just teaches difficult classes so like you're going to have to do work anyways so I don't understand that logic. As long as you put in the effort you should be fine. I actually learned rather than just memorizing content.
Professor Borgeas is a super nice professor. The class in general is a hard class but in her lectures she makes easy ways to remember certain terms. For this class, it's just a lot of studying throughout the week. Theres 1-2 quizzes every week on 1-2 chapters and theres an exam around every 3 weeks. I reccomend taking her.
I loved professor Borgeas. She cares deeply about her students. Her quizzes were difficult but if you follow exactly what she tells you to do you will succeed! She is very engaging, hosts many review sessions and games in class to make sure you learn your material! She also has EC opportunities
Be prepared for a 1-2 quizzes a week. Her lectures aren't very helpful and this class is honestly learn on your own. She does games once a week, but aren't very helpful also. If you put a lot of effort into this class you can do okay. Her exams are pretty hard especially with SATA.
She is knowledgeable, but the course is challenging, and the tests are particularly difficult. She's not understanding about technology problems or quiz issues and can be rigid and inflexible. Would not recommend if you want a professor who is supportive and accommodating.
Prof Borgeas is like a mom who gives her kids celery as a snack cause she cares about them. Make room in your schedule to study a lot, but that's because that's just how an anatomy class is. She's clear about what you need to learn and very kind, you just have to put in the work.
Exams are straightforward and she will not put anything that is not in the textbook on them. Going to lectures is kind of pointless as she goes over somewhat irrelevant things. The class is learning on your own. Every week there is a review game which is nice to see what you need to study harder. Overall I recommend, if you can teach yourself.
This professor is the worst you will ever experience. She will put things on the exams without covering them in class and claims that she will never test on anything outside of her powerpoints but that is a lie!! She is very rude if you even try to ask a question and very stubborn when it comes to admitting she is wrong, she simply wont.
I personally just didn't enjoy her teaching style. She just repeats what you read in the book and does the same exercises in class. Her tests are really hard. have to study a lot. She doesn't get to know anyone and she just isn't great.
I've had her for other courses, and this class was the worst experience I've had. Very condescending, rude, and insincere. The way she speaks to students is beyond nasty, simple questions are often answered with hostility and snooty undertones. Lectures are heavy but can be tolerated. Find another professor who has compassion and basic respect.
She's very passionate and really knows her stuff. She's super organized, but you have to study a ton and put in real effort to do well in her class. Most of the learning is on your own, so if you don't stay on top of things, it's easy to fall behind. All of her test questions come from concepts in her slideshows, but there are tons of slides.
