Great prof, go to class read the book and you should do fine. Interesting class to, 8am she kept me awake. Does go off-topic but to tell you interesting facts about Criminal Cases. Test are mulitple choice and essay is pick your own.

One of the best profs I have had, she is very and helpfull and will go the extra mile to help students.

She totally rocks the Kasbah! Don't be fooled by her stunning looks or pierced tummy. She is as smart as a whip and she really brings out the subject matter effectively. I will definitlely try her other classes. I dig the way she presents her material.

second class with her, changed her teaching style a bit, but still easy if you study.essay is standard. Test multiple choice, well use to be, someone complained it was to easy and she lost it and had to rewrite at last minute.

If u study, i'm pretty sure u will catch up everything in her lecture. She doesn't forget giving you chocolates on Valentine's Day. She is that much sweat person. I love her :)

She was a little unorganized and she needed to speak up! Her voice dies away when someone opens or closes a binder!! Other than that...found her class relatively easy and she is a very nice teacher. Not to mention she ain't bad looking for a teacher!!

A good teacher, answers all questions (even irrelevant ones), notes are self explanatory (powerpoint & in library) pretty easy marker, wants to help on term paper. VERY UNDERSTANDING of college stresses.... later assignment of paper so as not to "overload" students.

Heidi kicks ass. She is one of the best instructors I have had in many many years and she relates to the students. Really helpful and understanding. She's a role model and if you get a chance, take her class.

(Response to the earlier comment) She is definetly not rude, tries to be nice to everyone, and you do not have to LOOK interested because she actually makes the lectures interesting. As for exams, they are very fair. And she'll tell you exactly what's on them. Overall, she's an awsome teacher.

She's a good teacher who doesn't take any slacking. She's very clear in what her expectations are. The one down thing is that she seems kind of into herself. But other than that, she's A OK in my book.

what can i say? I didnt talk to her and I didnt participate. All I did was kick ass on the assignments and tests. After that trust me she'll know who you are. Thats how I got an A? sweet. Oh yah shes pretty hot for a mom.

Awsome teacher, probably one of the best. Her teaching stile is great. She makes the lectures enjoyable and very interesting. I have learned a lot this semester and I definetly want to continue stuyding criminology.

She's harder now... favors people that she've seen before. Has a sense of humor, after taking her class, I honestly wouldn't of chosen it in the first place, not because she's horrible but because she's not what everyone thinks.

Heidi is OFF THE HOOK! she's helpful and easy going. She makes her classes interesting, she has a sense of humour and she is like a barbie doll. I recommend taking her for any crm classes. Everything is based on her notes, and she puts them all online. She's cool, TAKE HER CLASSES!

Heidi is just Awesome!! She is very helpful and takes the time to listen to her students. Exams are based on lecture notes, text as well crim videos that are shown. Her exams are a bit tough, make sure you do all your assignments she will check back on that. She makes it easier because she has the lecture notes available. Take her crim classes.

Superb instuctor, very helpful and clarity on material is amazing. Powerpoint and video presentation makes things go faster. Paper was easy to do, any question she would be happy to help. The tests weree 190MC, very text heavy so watch out. Very funny lady who tells you great adventure stories involving crazy ppl. The 3 hours at night was a breeze~

turned out to be one of my fav teachers. super nice lady and fair marker. tests are mc and t/f ...long(190 q's) but she supplies the topics before hand. night class is no problem with her the time flies by. take heidi if u get the chance you'll hear some crazy stories.

Heidi is an amazing teacher. She goes through the chapter, and her power point presentations are actually really interesting. she tells you what is going to be on the exam. Easily approachable, and i'm taking as many classes with her as I can!

She's a really great prof, has awesome stories and is always entertaining! Her instructions seem tough for the paper, but she's a lot more leanient than the instructions let on!

Excellent prof, makes the material interesting. Tests are a bit too long (150 multiple choice) and are text heavy so watch out. More material could have been covered if we hadn't watched so many videos, but they are a nice break from lecture. I would definetely recommend Heidi to anyone taking criminology.

Be prepared to actually use your brain for a change. This isn't a course where you memorize definitions and coast. That said, if you like using your head, Heidi is a great choice for a teacher. Lively classes, organized and extremely helpful lecture notes.....take CRIM with Heidi unless you're lazy or dumb.

Really good prof, you learn allot from her notes, everything is clear! You will learn in her class, and you will want to attend her class. The videos she makes you watch are INTERESTING, and will transform the way you think on various issues. Her exams are straightforward, the information you need is given all you need to do is sit down and study!

Heidi actually talkes to her students and cares what we think and that we learn. If talking to us embarrases some students, they must not be really interested in learning. Take Heidi's courses if you are really interested in learning, stay away if you're lazy. She's considerate and fair and loves teaching, but expects you to work for your grade.

Awesome is all I can say. She makes you think and you learn a great deal in her classes. Fascinating subject material. Go to class, read the stuff, do your assignments, you'll do great. Attendance is ESSENTIAL, she will quickly become not very nice if you don't go to class and request material that you missed. Loves her job.

Heidi's a fantastic teacher! She tests on textbook material that hasn't been discussed in class, but lets you know ahead of time what the questions will be. Show up and put in the work and you'll succeed. I would recommend Heidi to anyone taking crim.

Heidi takes no b.s and is very opinionated, she likes things done a certain way and as long as you comply you will be fine. She is a lot of fun and has a lot of experience. I would recommend her to most people unless you get offended easily. She likes to poke fun at people so her lectures can be quite entertaining.

2exam,oral,10page essay and participation

Does a lot of powerpoint which can bore you to death, however, when she deviates from the powerppoint classes are much more entertaining and it becomes easy to retain the information being taught. Very approachable teacher

She is funny and can keep the class from falling asleep. She was teaching many 4rth year classes while she was teaching my first year class, so she never assigned much work or has essay questions on the test. I would have preffered essay questions because those are easy marks for me. Overall, I probly wouldnt go out of my way to take her again.

she is awesome . If you study criminology , you must take at least one class with her . She is nice , cares about teaching ,expect students to work hard . She's quite strict, to the point that she can be quite scary at times, but she's also very fair in the marking area. Don't miss class and do the work, and you'll do just fine!

She wasnt very organized but that happens to every busy teacher. However, she was very passionate about her topics and very influencial in her area. Shes very thorough about what shes wants. The only way you wont get an A in her class is if you dont show up for class, and follow precisely what she wants.

This was my second course with Heidi and she is AMAZING!!! I loved her class, she is very passionate about her subjects and keeps the class interesting with cool facts and videos. Her exams were somewhat difficult but on oral and paper she is a good and fair marker. I Greatly recommend taking her class :)

This class is definitely geared towards students with an interest in working with mentally disordered offenders but if you are, this is the Professor you want. Heidi knows her stuff and has a passion for it and she makes the class very informative and a lot of fun. But you have to put in the effort. If you do, it is so worth it.

Heidi is an amazing prof. Comes on strong at first and she's tough but if you're a good student you'll be fine. She doesn't take crap from people. She's so passionate about criminology. I found her approachable and down to earth. Loved her so much I'm taking 4410 with her next semester.

As long as you attend class regularly, and take your own notes, you'll have no trouble having an all-around understanding of the course material. She explains everything well, so it's easy to understand the concepts. She gives you a study guide for the midterm and final, and 95% of the questions on the test are straight from the guide.

I took this class with Heidi on a recommendation. I do not regret it at all, not only am I learning about the importance of the academic style of freedom but how to carry this into my practice. If you want a caring compassionate instructor who wants to help you reach your goals- Heidi will not hold your hand, however, will defy be there to support

By far, one of the best Criminology teachers at Douglas college. She looks out for your success. She gives 2 tests and and a major assignment (paper or presentation). Would take her class again

I absolutely loved Heidi. She gives you the written questions on her tests before hand so you can actually figure out the answers and actually do good on her test. Her tests are easy and very straight forward if you attend class and actually take notes. Would definitely recommend taking her to boost your GPA.

I found Heidi to be a bit unorganized as her lectures would tip over to one topic and stay there for the remainder of the class. She does post lecture notes online. Also, provides you with all the short answer questions a week before the midterm and the exam. She is a funny professor and does not mark the essay hard.

I thought Heidi Currie was by far the best teacher I have had at Douglas thus far. When she says she wants you to succeed, this is a true statement. Her classes were laid back and she talks you through portions of the exams to ensure you do well. Would definitely recommend her.

Heidi is an extremely accessible and easy-going professor. I took both crim 2252 and crim 4410 with her, and she is an absolute gem. She will help you if you ask for it and even if you put in minimal effort, you will pass. But I suggest to talk to her about papers, it will really help your mark.

Simply the best Prof I've had at Douglas College.

The best teacher I have had at Douglas! She is a fair marker, she cares about her students and their success. She loves what she is teaching and she shows it. She gives you real life experiences which anybody entering the Crim field should be opened too. She is an incredible teacher. Highly recommend taking her class

Heidi is simply an amazing professor who clearly is passionate about the content as well as inspiring her students. Lecture slides are a bit packed with information which may not always be needed. However, she has clear grading criteria and will be specific on what you should know for exam. Lot's of guest speakers, will often quiz based off these.

I can say she is one of the best professors ever. Even though I usually take courses of popular professors, she is just so perfect. She is so merciful for every student and passionate for what she is doing. I was especially impressive of her attitude on treating international students. She will just wait you and try her best to listen to you.

Heidi is overall a great prof. Classes were super laid back and the material was interesting. The course breakdown consisted of 2 exams (30% each), participation (15%) and the presentation/paper (25%). It's pretty easy to do well in her class as the exams are MC/T or F and she gives the written in advance. She was also very funny! I recommend.

I took 3 courses with Heidi, all of which I really enjoyed. She is very passionate about her content, which makes her lectures one of a kind. Her courses shaped my perspective of certain topics that I may have been less open minded about. I would highly recommend her for any course she offers.

I have Heidi in my Crim 1100 in KPU, and she is an absolutely amazing prof you can ever come across. her lectures are so engaging and let the class discuss serial killers and theories which makes learning about Crim so fascinating. the tests are easy and NO surprise questions on the exam or any random pop quiz. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

Class was amazing and the tests were self explanatory. Despite school being online because of Covid, she made the class feel like I was in the actual classroom.
