Heidi is good. She brought breakfast for our class of 50 people 5 or 6 times. She gave us each a book on the way out after the final. Had guest speakers to class a few times. You will read the whole textbook in her class. She gives you a quiz at least once a week on the reading. Big group project. She was always slow to return grades on assignments
Heidi does an AMAZING job of making the class interesting. Almost every class involves some kind of activity - often food oriented too, which I enjoy. I wouldn't say the class is exceptionally difficult, but make sure you read the material and really make an effort on the written assignments. It's really not hard to enjoy the class.
Good class, Heidi knows her stuff (PhD), makes class enjoyable and interactive. Brought candy/treats every class. I would take this class from her again.
Heidi is a very nice professor and has fun lessons that are often very hands-on (object lessons). My largest complaint is how many times she will say "right" to end a thought. The first few classes it was extremely distracting and now it's more of a general annoyance. Again, fantastic teacher and relays the information well. Right.
Heidi is nice and often brings snack to class. Lots of hands on activities which made class fun. Someone mentioned that she says "right" frequently and is spot on. Her choice of TA was questionable as rough drafts didn't get above a 7%. He was a harsher grader than Heidi is and she would give points for things he didn't on exams.
Heidi is awesome! I loved how she would often share inspiring stories about being our best and achieving our dreams. She is available for her students and wants to see them succeed. She relates class concepts to real companies. If you read the chapters you will do fine on the quizzes.
This class was a lot of fun to attend. Lectures are great, and the participation requirements are not a drag. Reading the assigned chapters will prepare you for quizzes and exams.
The best professor I have ever taken in my life.
Man she's great, right??? The class was tough but our professor was tougher. Lots of reading and Impossible tests.
Required course that I would not have taken by choice but Heidi was a good teacher but there is a lot of group work worth a good portion of the final grade.
Heidi is the best!! She is really nice and encourage students to contribute to class discussions. Definitely read the chapters before class, it helps a lot! I really enjoyed Heidi's class!
Heidi is an incredible teacher! She is great at making topics relateable and giving in demonstrations during class. She is very particular about participation, group projects and reading the chapters. Heidi does a great job of giving you a fair chance for full points for every assignment, test, and project but she is a tough grader.
I enjoyed taking class with her. It was a night class and they never go the full three hours. She and her TA both are tough graders, but give good feedback as to why you received the grade you did. She's more than willing to take the time to sit down and help you. Would take her class again.
I can say Heidi is one of my best professor ever! You cannot imagine how awesome class!
Heidi was an awesome professor. Even though our classes were three hours long, she was able to make things interesting majority of the time.
This professor really cares and wants you to succeed beyond just this class. The group project requires a lot of application of the course content so choose your company carefully! The drafts are graded tough but this is so your final paper will turn out well.
Heidi is very knowledgeable in her field. Hiedi was a good teacher that worked hard to make her lectures interesting (you really should read the chapters assigned in order to succeed in this class) and interactive/hands-on.
This class was overall enjoyable. Heidi really makes class interactive and easy to listen to. I wish the TA would have graded less though. The grades felt all over the place. Other than that the class was good.
Well prepared professor. Instructs in a fun and interactive way. If you read and do homework the class will bring the absolute best out of you.
She's a good professor (nice to look at too). She gives good feedback where it matters and cares about her students. Careful when selecting teams, you might get stuck doing all of the work.
Heidi is an amazing professor. She really cares about her students and wants them to be successful. This does not mean that she will go easy on you though. If you want a good grade, you need to put in a good bit of effort. There are weekly quizzes, three exams (only two count toward your grade), and a group paper/presentation.
Very hard grading up front so you know you're in for a challenge, but after the work is worthwhile. Learned a ton, was challenged, and had a very positive experience overall.
Great professor! Her lectures are interesting and help you further understand the material. Participation does count but you can do good by showing up and being prepared. Overall, I think she is a fantastic professor that cares and wants you to succeed!
Heidi is a great teacher though I hated the subject. The lectures were fairly boring to me, to be honest, but Heidi was always willing to clarify or otherwise helpful. However, THE TA WAS HORRIBLE. The TA graded all assignments for the class and was extremely harsh. Talked to Heidi about it and she was understanding but the damage was done
Heidi is a great professor! You can tell she really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Participation counts so don't miss class. As long as you put in the work, the class is passable. Be prepared to find a good group as the majority of the class is based on a group project. She brings treats on the daily and pizza on the last day!
Great teacher. Warm, enjoyable attitude. Presents the topics in a clear, concise way. The class was not excessively hard but there's a group project which is a significant part of your grade so be careful who you group up with. TA graded individual assignments too harshly and I know multiple students felt that way too so there's that. I'drecommend
Heidi was a great professor! Lectures were always clear, and she always kept the content interesting and engaging. Lots of discussion, treats, and in-class assignments. Grading was tough on the papers and case studies, however the criteria was clear and Heidi was always available to meet for help.
Heidi knows this is a hard class so she does what she can to make it bearable. Gives treats if you answer a quiz question & gave us pizza the last day of class. Group project is a lot of work but she breaks it up so it's not overwhelming. Super smart, can tell she knows her stuff.
Required Class.
Heidi is a great professor. I believe she goes above and beyond to find ways to make class more enjoyable. There were class exercises that involved food/treats. She was very open to meeting outside of class to discuss assignments or answer questions. Grading is strict, I do wish there was more verbal direction and clarification on assignments.
Heidi went above and beyond to help me get into an already full section. I'm glad she did because her lecture were enjoyable and facilitated great discussions, however not all exam material is covered in class. Her choice of TA was poor. He graded all papers and provided extremely low quality feedback.
Great instructor. Knows her stuff and even more importantly knows how to teach and convey it. Is very generous and fun and makes class genuinely valuable each time. Uses slides but makes class very interactive and every bit of media she uses relates directly to that weeks material.
Heidi is a killer teacher! She is super knowledgable about the subjects she teaches and has tons of cool experiences and stories to solidify course content. She provides ample explanation for all assignments, and puts a lot of work into each of the class lectures/discussions that she prepares. Shes awesome at fostering a safe, engaging classroom
she brings snacks to class so participate. lecture slides are super helpful for the tests
She is really good. Her class is moderately difficult, which is mostly due to the project. The lecture slides really help when studying for the test. A little bit of a hard grader, but I think that was more the TA than it was her. She makes the topics interesting. Quizzes before class are not that difficult since you can use the lecture slides.
Go to class and pick a good group.
Heidi is willing to go out of her way to help you succeed if you get to know her. She really wants all of her students to do well in and out of class. If you are involved in the class, you will do well. Make sure to pick the right people for the group project or your semester may be a little rough since you work on it throughout the semester.
I thought Heidi was a great teacher. There were times where instructions and expectations were a little ambiguous but overall a great class. She is knowledgeable, kind, and you get the sense she wants to see you succeed.
Entertaining class especially for being 3 hours. You can tell she really cares and makes a strong effort.
Heidi is easily one of my favorite professors at the U. You can really tell when a professor cares and it shows in her class. The only issues I had were with the exams. Exams composing of questions from the question bank are a ineffective way of actually showing knowledge of the material. I wish she wrote out her own personal questions.
She was great, who give out gift out to students on the first day of class? She does, she makes you work for your grade but you will learn a lot of you put the effort into it. Well worth the time and would take her class again over all others who may teach this course.
Heidi is one of the best professors in the business school, she is also the most attractive professors I have had at the U (well worth going to class just for that). The material taught is really beneficial for any business student and she does a great job at teaching the subject. Go to class, read the assigned chapters, and you will do fine.
She's a nice teacher and there really isn't much homework. Just a couple quizzes, papers, and a group project. Didn't do too bad, but ended up in a group that didn't put in much effort.
Heidi is an amazing professor with lectures that provides to real world examples. There are quizzes at the beginning of classes, but the entire class reviews the answers afterwards to better understand the material. She gives out treats and gave us pizza on the last day! The material isn't hard to understand as long you put time into it.
Heidi is a great teacher. She will move fast through the material and has an activity with most lectures. The slides and test hints in class are detailed enough to prepare for the exams. Heidi seems less concerned about covering all the material than with leaving student with a helpful and meaningful experience.
Case discussions were extremely helpful and the lectures were very informational. This was a harder class but the assignments helped us learn and solidify our understanding. One piece of feedback I would have would be to go over the analysis tools in more depth (VRIO, 5 Forces, etc.) by showing examples of how they are used in real analyses.
Heidi has real world experience and is able to tie that into course topics. She is very encouraging and genuinely wants her students to succeed, while making them earn each grade. Impromptu group collaboration should be expected in every class period and may be uncomfortable for some students, though essential in the real world. Overall good prof
She was a really good professor! She always brought food to class for rewards for participation and participation is mandatory in her class. There is a big project and the grading is tough but overall it was a good class !
Heidi is a very intelligent professor and her class has good knowledge in it if you put the time. If you don't read the book, you probably won't learn much. I found myself not finding much value in the lectures and the lack of feedback on case studies made it difficult to find areas of improvement. Don't read the syllabus she won't follow it anyway
Prof. Herrick taught our class from 6-9pm. Typically these classes are difficult to stay awake for, but Prof. Herrick always made class fun and enjoyable. She is a very good professor.
Awesome professor and made class enjoyable and fun! Quiz at the beginning of each class so don't be late. The group project was graded pretty tough by the TA. Wish we had a little more direction on how she wanted it done. Overall a great semester!
Heidi made a real effort to make this class not only practical for career use, but insightful in terms of self-awareness. An incredibly brilliant lecturer, who managed to keep a night class engaging through thoughtful lectures and team activities. Additionally, she encourage us to examine ourselves through a strategic lens. Would take again!
Heidi is willing to listen to concerns of students. If you have issues with an assignment or with material make sure to approach her after class. Give yourself time for case studies. Long group project but given semester to do it. Participation grade for each class.
Heidi was a very intelligent, fair, tough, and straightforward teacher. I thought that her expectations were stated and expressed clearly, even if these expectations were very high. My only complaint with this course was that the TA was an extremely harsh grader. My group discussed this with her and she was very understanding and accommodating.
At times, she was in her element and was speaking from experience, at others, she was literally reading the slides and rushing to finish class. If you don't read, you will find it challenging but not impossible.
Heidi knew the material she was talking about and make sure you also had the chance to participate. Her slides were always informative and although the material is dense, not impossible to navigate for the course. There are weekly quizzes that also help with retention. Love it!
Heidi is great at giving you real life examples and interesting demonstrations. This class in particular is text heavy, and participation is a must to get a good understanding of the material and a good grade.
Heidi is smart. She knows her stuff. She is passionate and inspirational.
Heidi was amazing! Her lectures were some of the best lectures that I ever heard. You can tell she really enjoys teaching and is really good at keeping everybody engaged. But she is a tough grader so don't slack off!!
Straight to the point. Attendance is mandatory and being an active participant will help you get a solid attendance grade. If you read what's assigned and truly work on the case write ups, the midterms and final will come naturally.
Three-hour night class, but Heidi sure knew how to make it more bearable. Have nothing but positive things to say about her - her TA, on the other hand, went on an outrageous grading spree for the first part of the semester. Make sure to read the textbook and be prepared for the midterms. Choose a good group.
This was one of the first classes I took at the U, and I really enjoyed it. The class wasn't particularly difficult, and I liked that it made you still think about practical problems in entrepreneurship. Professor Herrick was great and added a lot to the class, definitely worth taking if you can.
All of the assignments in her entrepreneurship class are group work. She has a clear rubric to follow to ensure you get the best grade. She reviews everyone's projects and gives good feedback, along with an opportunity to make revisions before submitting for grading.
The exams for this class were so much harder than all the course material, which showed when most of the class did poorly on it, despite them doing well in the course. The assignments were kind of tedious, but not hard. This class did not teach me anything.
Gem of a professor, one of the best due to sheer brilliance & humility. She goes above & beyond to help her students. You can also tell how thoughtful she is with lectures & class activities. Honestly, these are the kind of professors that help positively shape your collegiate experience. I can only hope to do the same for another student one day.
Professor Herrick is a great professor! I learned a lot in her class.
Professor Heidi is my favorite professor I have ever had. She is an absolute rockstar of a professor and I had to fortunate opportunity to take 2 classes from her this semester. If you have the opportunity to take a course from her sign up right now. The class was so interesting and not difficult at all if you do the readings and show up to class.
Great teacher with really interesting lectures. Homework is long but not hard as long as you follow the rubric. Actually cares for her students and has interactive and really interesting lectures where she brings in real-life examples all the time. Lectures not required but I enjoyed them.
Professor Herrick is an amazing professor. She gives great feedback and the projects we do really help with entrepreneurship. She gave us real world examples and we often applied what we were learning by having to create value with various items. She genuinely cares about her students and I would definitely recommend.
She is a fantastic professor who makes classes really fun and interesting. She was always happy to answer questions I had about the class. I would defiantly recommend taking her as a professor!
Heidi was a dedicated professor with engaging lectures and lively classrooms. She knows what she's talking about and also works with every student who needs it despite large class sizes. I always looked forward to going to this class. Homework was somewhat challenging but if you pay attention in class and do your best work, you'll be just fine.
Professor Herrick was amazing. She explained everything really well and made the 2-hour lectures fun and interesting. She also adjusted grading to match students' feedback. You were always given good feedback on assignments and could set up times to go over assignments if needed. She is very understanding.
Really good, well organized, TA helped out a lot, a class that makes you think, and the things you learn in this class you'll for sure care it out the rest of your life.
Heidi was an amazing professor, super down to earth and really just understanding. You can tell that she actually cares about her students and what she is teaching. Not a hard class at all, just do your work and you'll get an A.
Heidi was one of my favorite professors. Her class was so fun and she knows how to hold students' attention. Assignments aren't hard, just sometimes time-consuming. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you do get a participation grade so it's important to go. She gives breaks every class and overall was great.
Awesome professor! Had a two-hour lecture and she made it go by fast! Her fun lessons and practical engagement helped me understand the topic much better! She's a bubbly professor that actually wants you to do well.
The professor is a good teacher, but her TAs grade extremely harshly and she doesnt have clear rubrics for any of her assignments.
Heidi is an amazing professor. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Her TAs grade pretty hard so make sure to read their feedback and use it for future assignments. I struggled to get an A in the class but I would take it again just because I felt like I was actually learning and Heidi is amazing.
Professor Herrick is one of the best professors I have had in my college experience. Although the classes are long, she always finds a way to make it fun and engaging. There were really no "busy work" assignments which was really nice. All of the homework connected to what we learning as well as our midterm, final, and final project.
Take professor Herrick's class! She is the most kind and understanding woman which is so awesome when you are a freshman in college just learning how to navigate everything. Her lectures are interesting and motivational. Her course load is the perfect amount where it isn't overbearing but gets the job done.
Professor Herrick was one of my favorites all semester. The class information itself is a little mundane but she does an amazing job teaching and making it entertaining. She is always willing to talk outside of class and willing to help if you need it and gives great feedback. She's an inspirational person and I would take another class from her.
class was super easy if you went to lectures and paid attention. take her she's great!
Heidi was an amazing professor. She truly cares about her students and her classroom activities are super fun. She explains details without miss and her quizzes are easy. The exams are quite difficult though, but it's open note which is great. Her TA is not friendly
How was ENTP 5000 the most challenging class I've had? Biology test score averages, with hardly any room for curving AND strict grading? My favorite part was getting an A on everything but the tests and receiving a B. I sent an email to revise my grade before graduation but received no response. Seriously? Loved her in the past, would avoid her now
Great professor! This class was not overly difficult, but all grading was clear and transparent. I would recommend taking this class.
I LOVE HER. i did not like the topic of this class that much, but the way she would teach it made it very interesting and made me want to come. she is great at lecturing and showing fun examples in class. plus she brings a lot of free stuff. i loved it so much i am now a TA for her.
rubrics are never clear and TA is on a constant power trip with the grading. quizzes and tests are worded horribly also. would avoid if not a business major
Heidi is seriously such an amazing professor. She is so kind and understanding and she really wants you to succeed. Her lectures are interactive, fun, and interesting! The tests are a bit challenging but if you pay attention in class, focus on the in-class quizzes, and take notes you will do fine. HIGHLY recommend taking 2040 with her!
This class wasn't as suited for me as I had hoped (I am in STEM), I was often confused by the grading and about what the assignments should be about. It's easy to get stuck with a project you really don't care about in this class so watch out. She is really good at responding to emails and generally a captivating lecturer, overall a good professor.
Professor Heidi is incredibly knowledgeable and capable, with fantastic experience. She has a degree from Oxford! Great professor, and even though lectures are long, if you listen intentionally, you will learn from this class and do just fine on quizzes and tests. I connected with her despite the class being over 100 people.
Very fair grader. As long as you show up and do your work you'll be successful. She's very supportive and if you have questions she gets back to you quickly.
A horrible exprience. She decides to punish the whole class since somebody cheated. Other professor also found cheating in their class but they did not take this action. Instead of punishing the cheaters, she punished the whole class. It seems like something that happens in high school, not in college. DO NOT TAKE HER! SHES SO PETTY.
Prof. Herrick is a great professor! She has very clear expectations. ALWAYS READ RUBRIC! She is willing to help you improve your work outside of class. Her TAs do not always do a good job grading or replying. Sometimes grades are knit-picky. She expects 110% effort on everything. Dense lectures, lengthy assignments, hidden EC, hard work pays off
One of the best professors I've taken. Midterm and final were open note and she always let us out of her 3 hour lecture an hour early. Course load is perfect with just a couple assignments every week. Grading is a little stricter but as long as you make sure to stick to the rubric you'll be good. Course expectations are always really clear.
Really nice and helpful but cares a little too much about a freshman business class. Would still recommend
She's the best professor I had this semester! She's really open to business discussions in class and loves talking one-on-one with you.The homework load isn't that crazy & the exams are pretty difficult, so make sure to study and attend her office hours. Amazing feedback on assignments. She's amazing and I wouldn't take this course without her!
Professor Herrick was very good at making every student feel seen. The course content wasn't too hard, and she made it a lot easier.
I loved this professor! I had a couple of problems throughout this semester and she would always be able to help me, or if she wasn't her TA could! Her tests can be pretty difficult, but with curves and other assignments its all good. Her TA also looked over my big paper at the end and was able to give me feedback before it was due.
Professor Heidi is an engaging and knowledgeable instructor. While the work can be challenging, she provides great feedback and is dedicated to helping students succeed. Unstuck study was a game-changer for preparing for quizzes and exams. Highly recommend taking this course with her.
One of the best professors that I had. She made it easy to follow along in class and gave you plenty of class time to complete your assignments. I would highly recommend her!!
Prof. Herrick is very experienced. The assignments are more than manageable, just for your own good, make yourself read every chapter and watch the videos. Take the midterm and final at the proctoring center, no matter how stron you think your home internet connection is.
Great teacher. Great class!
