she's really nice. her class covers a lot of material, but she grades pretty easy. she does go fast, and its hard to write the notes while she talks, but she's cool, she'll stop or slow down....i like her
She is an amazing teacher!! She is so helpful and understands the amount of work college students have on thier plate. As long as you do the work and review your notes for the tests, you will get an A. Ask her to help you, she will always make time !!!!
Awsome teacher! Always finds time to help, and she's a pretty easy grader!
I cant say enough good things about her! Easy grading, easy to understand, explained things clearly, made time for anyone who needed help!Great!
VERY easy grader, and very easy class overall. nice person. occassional class discussions, sometimes she lectured the whole time which was kinda boring, but i had her at 8am, so i wanted to fall asleep often anyway. all in all, an easy A.
i have yet to read any material in this class and i have a 'b'. papers are super easy to b.s. on. if you take occasional notes your good as gold. just go over study guide before exams.
Ms. Manzone is soo nice. Her tests and quizzes are basically impossible to fail and she answers any questions you have very clearly. Her lectures can seem a bit long because it's just straight info but it doesn't matter because she's awesome.
I had her for my small group class and she clarified everything my thick accented german professor attempted to teach. She saved my grade and she is the nicest person.
great teacher. can't say enough about her. very relaxed classroom atmosphere, doesn't take attendance but you'll do much better on the tests if you go. I had such a hard time core 1 but everything clicked with her in core 2.
She made this class so great. It is easy. I heard a lot of horror stories about Core but if you take her everything will be great. No pop quizzes or anything. Tests are from lectures. If you like to write this is the class for you. Sweet lady. Easy A!
Very good teacher. she presents the material in a way that makes it easy to understand. she is very helpful. if you hate core take her
She is very nice. Classes often let out early. Quizes are simple while tests require a little more thought. She grades a little harder on the tests(Essay Form).
she is a great teacher. her class is a little boring and you have to take lots of notes, but her tests and quizzes are easy. just look over the notes! she is also understanding if you miss something.
really nice lady. very organized, but sometimes cancels class, lets you out early sometimes... grades very easily...
Awesome teacher. She is very clear, and helpful. Test are a little tricky, but just look over your notes and you will be fine. TAKE HER!
She was nice. Her exams are hard. Going into the final exam I had an 86%. My final grade after the exam was a 79.9%, and she doesn't round up. She is really boring so its hard to stay focused. Not my favorite teacher, but not the worst either. Exams contain terms that she barely mentions.
Shes probably the best core teacher you will find here at UNF. Her tests are a bit hard, but whos isn't? Shes a light grader though and will help you if you have any questions at all. You should DEF take her for core if you want to pass!
great teacher, i definitely recommend her. don't worry about buying the book, everything on the tests is out of your lecture notes. i never even opened my book.
Very sweet woman! her lectures are very clear, but you better learn to write fast because it's a lot of writting. She is an excellent teacher and I would recomender her for sure! Tests and quizes are SUPER easy, but the 3 exams are a bit hard. All you need to do is make sure you do the reading assigned and you can't get anything below an A.
She is sooo nice! There are a lot of notes, but it's a history class! Your quizzes and tests come straight from the notes and she always gives review sheets. She is very helpful...I went to talk with her before each test or quiz and she was always really helpful! Take her!
Best History teacher at the school, by far. This is how a Freshie class should be, somewhere between the High School way of teaching but in a College setting. It makes for a nice transition, and she is your best bet if you have to take Core. I recommend her for anyone, and have recommended her to everyone I know.
Fabulous Teacher! I am a good student though who enjoys taking notes. You HAVE to take notes. She is very helpful, makes history much like listening to a story. Tests are easy as long as you review before-hand, take notes and go to class! i love this teacher, and i plan on taking her class again!
the teacher is very good, you have to go to class not just for the attendance but also because u HAVE to take notes... i never read the book, just read over the notes and made a b+.. would have gotten an A if i would have done the extra credit u defintily have a chance to make an A. people say that core 2 is easier but core 1 is easier with her
She knows her history, but she also has a lot of other things going on in her life, so she doesn't get your grades back as quickly as other teachers. She sometimes jumps around with the terms in class, but she goes over everything as if it were a story. She offers extra credit at the end of the semester. She is kind and likes to eat Krystals.
Prof. Manzone is really sweet and helpful. Most of the classes consist of taking notes. The tests about the material and quizzes about the books we read aren't that difficult, but you do have to study and memorize. Prof. Manzone always posts helpful study guides online. Also, there's a chance for extra credit if you miss 3 days or less.
i hate history, but this class was really interesting. you take a LOT of notes and you have to memorize a lot and read a lot. i took it in summer so it was fast paced, but manageable. shes really nice, clear, and knowledgeable.
You will take SO many notes...I went through 2 notebooks. Tests are all written... no multiple choice. Sometimes her grading is inconsistent. Start studying way in advanced for exams and bring a tape recorder!
GREAT TEACHER. Exams are hard if you do not study and attend class. but if you attend class and take notes, you will at least make a B. You hardly use the text book but you do have a few books to read.Sometimes goes over notes too quickly. She tells you exactly what she want in assignments so its easy to get an A on them. Take her class if you can.
Professor Manzone is a really great teacher. She talks kinda fast and you take alot of notes but its all worth it. I didnt really read the textbook or any of the small book for that matter and got a B. Come to class prepared to write alot, and you will learn in the process. I highly recommend her
Heidi is an EXCELLENT teacher. Everything is crystal clear and she is easy to understand.DEFINATELY take her!!
Good teacher. I learned a good amount and it's easy to get a B and not too much harder for an A. Many people make the mistake of taking too many notes, but because the tests are written as long as you pay attention and jot down general facts you should do fine. I didn't use the book at all, but she tells you to read.
Really nice and helpful. Just take notes, study them, and the tests will be easy. She gives you study guides for the tests also. I got an A with not much effort.
AWESOME TEACHER! She keeps it simple so you understand everything. The books are small (100pgs or less) and she gives plenty of time. Tests are pretty easy if you pay attention and take notes. I heard this class was hard, but there was NOTHING hard about it with her! you NEED to take Manzone! Easy and interesting!
Amazing, love her. She is so clear, her lectures are like storybooks and very easy to understand. Exams are all the same format, easy, just study the terms (she tells you which ones). Awesome, would def. take her again. And her voice is the cutest!
she is a SUPER nice lady, makes quizzes and assignments interesting. i had her at 8 am so it kind of sucked. quiz every two weeks or so, easy exams if you study what you learn in lecture with furdell.
very nice monotone lady, if you dont understand something I encourage to raise your hand before she goes on..she goes through the lecture pretty quick, but says everything you need to know for the exam. She selects the easiest books to read and gives you a study guide on what exactly is on the book quiz.
She is wonderful! I look forward to her class every day; her lectures are never dull, she's funny and she clearly knows what she's talking about. As long as you study for the tests and quizzes it's an easy class! Just a tip, make sure you spare NO details on tests and quizzes. She does take off points for every little thing you leave out.
She is one of the nicest teachers I've had and will always help you if you just talk to her. There's a lot of work but her grading is fair and anyone can get a good grade.
had her for core I. she is amazing! she is so helpful, doesn't mind repeating things, gives study guides and a list of terms to know. there are in class quizzes, one take home quiz, one paper, and 2 exams. no final exam!! she even gives extra credit. she takes attendance and bumped my grade up because i always came.
She is very nice, has patience, easy to talk to, willing to answer your questions. Don't like History got a B. Not that bad. Good study guides. A lot of terms but not all are used on test. and no multiple choice. All writing. But no bad
She is very nice, has patience, easy to talk to, willing to answer your questions. Don't like History got a B. Good study guides. A lot of terms but not all are used on test. and no multiple choice. All writing. But not that bad
She is a fantastic professor, attendence is not necessarily mandatory, but she gives you an extra credit opportunity if you show up.
Hands Down BEST teacher at UNF. She is so helpful! She actually makes you interested in the class and i hate everything about school. World History is said to be a really hard undergraduate class but not with her.
Very clear, her power points are fantastic, you tube clips, took her for WOH1022 (world history 2)all lectures are conducive to future history courses. She is an awesome teacher. You will understand the world. Readings tons..like any history class. Very understanding to moms as well as all students.
Had her for World History 1. Extremely easy 3-question quizzes. Not a harsh grader at all, even on tests. Very friendly and willing to work with you.
Favorite teacher at UNF! Her classes are not mandatory but you have to go to get the information. Her tests are based on her lectures not the book. Im not the biggest fan of history but her lectures are interesting because she tells history like a story. Her tests are alot of work because they are all written but as long as you study youll be fine
very nice, will work with you. Has best intrest of students in mind. There are 3 exams the last one is the final thats not cumlative. there are book quizzes ralatively easy. and online homework assignments that boost your grade! love this class
I've studied maybe a total of 2 hours for the entire semester and passed with an A. Online homework is pretty much your entire grade, so do it and you'll be fine. 3 tests and 4 quizzes(just read the books on sparknotes and you'll get a B on any quiz). Do yourself a favor and take Manzone for World History!!
Do not take this class during the summer. I have never failed a class and spent probably 10-15 hours studying for each test that I failed. She is not an easy grader at all, but I will say she is very nice.
Professor Manzone was very helpful and very sweet. The class can be difficult and you have to put in the work to pass. I ended up barely using the book to study with and only used the lecture notes I took. There is 3 exams that are all written, 5 online quizzes, online hw, and 1 essay. As long as you go to class and take noted its easy to pass.
All I did was go to class and take notes, I memorized my notes for the tests- which have an ID section, short response, and long response- and did the connect homework. She just talks the whole class but I found it to be very interesting and enjoyed the class very much. There's really not much work, just take good notes.
Professor Manzone is an excellent teacher. Her lectures are not boring, because she tells them like a story. You must attend class because the slides she puts on blackboard are not as detailed. You don't really need to fully read all the books. Study for the exam and you'll get at least a B. Recommend taking this over the summer, it is possible.
Took this class over summer. She moves pretty fast and lots of information is covered. You dont need the textbook. As long as you go to class and take notes you'll have everything you need for exams. Theres two exams, 1 paper and quizzes on the books. The exams have an 4 id terms, a short response and essay. If you dont prepare class can be hard
Her power points are online but they don't have all the information on them. Have to go to class to get the notes. Tests are like all other history classes, all written. But she is very clear about what she wants and tells you exactly what the test layout will be.
Very nice person, you can tell she really cares about her students. Their's a lot of work involved, but if you put in the time you'll do fine. Expect to read a significant amount.
Professor Manzone is awesome. I took her for online and she still was a great teacher. She is beyond helpful. If you email her she will respond instantly. Her lectures are decent and have a lot of information pilled in. Discussion posts and quizzes weekly but they aren't bad. You do have to study and its not a super easy class but she's good!
Professor Manzone makes World History easy to get through. This class entails a lot of reading and participation but if you do the work laid before you, it is not all that bad. Professor Manzone posts lectures that are narrated by her and are fun to listen to. I would definitely recommend taking her!
If you want this class to consume your whole life then take it. The online lectures are 45 min- 1 hour and there are usually 3 per week. On top of that, there is a discussion post, learnsmart questions, and usually a quiz based on a different book every single week. On top of that there is a 3-4 page paper and 3 tests.
I liked her, she's a sweet lady and is very understanding when you ask for help or if something comes up on your end. Her lectures are very clear and easy to understand. There are connect homework assignments each week, about 5 quizzes on short books throughout the semester, and about 3 exams total. You can get an A if you do the work and study!
so much work. Lectures are so long! Do not take this class online!! She gives you a prompt for the essay but expects you answer exactly what she wants. Not open minded at all. Very picky, and a tough grader
Too much information was compacted into a small amount of time. So the instructor tried to make up for it by overloading us with too much learning material and expecting us to know it all.
Professor Manzone is very knowledgeable, and a relatively easy grader. The workload is heavy and there is a ton of information. It covers from Ancient Mesopotamia through the Middle Ages... in one semester. She also assigns several recorded power points per week, some of which are 50 slides or longer.
She's good but very critical when grading. In this class there is a lot of studying. I had to study a whole stack of note cards and only 5 terms out of the 50 terms was on test. There is no multiple choice either. Honestly I would have done better if I understood her study guide. It lists the terms but those are not it. Terms are in each powerP.
Long 3 hour class. Lectures were interesting. Make sure to study for tests!!
I did not enjoy this class. It was very surface level but extremely easy. Lectures are agonizing. They are extremely long, boring, and full of "fun facts".
Okay, she is a great person don't get me wrong. There are only tests and discussions. They are worth so many points. The lecture is up to two hours and the reading is long. If you only take her class you should be fine. However, if you are taking other classes I would say stay away. Good luck to anyone who takes her. She truly is a humble person.
The way she has the class set up is nonsense. She is not very good at using canvas and makes finding classwork and notes a lot harder than it should be. Also she grades too tough for a bunch of discussion posts which are due on two separate days in a week.
I had Professor Manzone for both AMH2010 and WOH1012. Her class is extremely lecture heavy, but they do prepare you for the tests very well. There are discussions every week, four book quizzes, three exams, and a paper due at the end of the semester. As long as you study, you'll do fine.
She herself is very nice and merciful but she grades strictly and her lectures are long and the exams contain a lot of information. You also have to buy over 6 books.
Honestly, she cares about her students, she is incredibly intelligent about the subject matter and provides actual feedback on your assignments. Sure the lectures are a little long, but the videos are extremely informative and provide you with everything you'll need. This class is very achievable if you put in the effort. Also Extra Credit!
While this course is definitely lecture heavy (can span anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 3) they really help prepare you for the exams and quizzes. Professor Manzone really cares about her students is an excellent resource if you need help. As long as you keep up with the discussion posts and take good notes you will do just fine.
Incredible experience! Fascinating coursework and Prof. Manzone knows her stuff! What's truly exceptional is the caring and great guidance. Always ready to help and explain, creating an engaging and inclusive class. I left with a deeper understanding and a lot of inspiration. Highly recommend any course with Prof. Manzone!
if you don't know exactly what she wants then be ready to struggle. she never like what you put she has to add something and then dock you points for it so if you dont know exactly what she's thinking sorry your screwed.
Professor Manzone is one of the easiest professors to work with especially if you communicate with her. I was sick with hypertension and anxiety for a while and every time, she would offer to reopen assignments and give full credit if the effort was made. COMMUNICATE! She will help you I promise!
Dr. Manzone is a very knowledgeable and approachable professor, and her class is very manageable as long as you stay on track and not fall behind. I'm a history major and buff, so I found her lectures VERY interesting, but even those that are just taking the class for credit will find something that sparks their interest.
As long as you complete the work, this class is a breeze.
AVOID She is very knowledgeable about the subject but she expects WAY too much for her students. LOTS of lectures and readings a week, you wont have time for anything but work for her class. Canvas is a mess, syllabus will give one due date, assignment will state another day, and canvas states a different day too. Her exam study guides are useless.
Exams are honor lock, at the start of each lecture she gives a list of terms. About 70 terms per module, for the exam she picks 8 and you need to identify 4/5 of the 8, its way to many to remember and she wants you to be super specific with them or else you will loose points. Then an essay and short answer those are straight forward, tough grader.
Very tough grader. The course can be confusing to navigate, and it is a lot of information, lectures, and readings. However she is very understanding and kind, she is more than willing to work with you on anything. Literally just ask her about a grade or rubric or turning an assignment in late, she is very accommodating. Great professor overall
I have Prof Manzone for AMH 2020 and she's a great & caring professor. There are a lot of assignments (it's easy to keep up) every week there is a discussion post, exams aren't MCQ (it has one Identification question, an essay, and a short answer question.) Prof. Manzone is also a tough grader but is you put in the effort the class is an easy A.
Professor Manzone is great! I hate history but actually enjoyed her class due to her care for students. Its mainly discussion post based but they aren't too hard if you watch her videos. I had missed an exam due to technical errors and she let me retake it over a month later and was very helpful in figuring it out! Written response exams though!
Manzone is amazing - she's very caring towards her students, and is knowledgeable about the subject and an engaging presenter. I highly recommend her. She is not a hard grader, but you will need to actually do all of the required lectures and readings. If you do them and pay attention, you will not struggle at all with the quizzes and tests.
This professor actually shows that she cares about her students by giving amazing feedback on everything you do. Very little assignments but they're easy to do. Her grading is very light-handed if you put in effort. Only con is that her posted slides are picture heavy and she gives details in person, so attendance is recommended but not required.
Ms. Manzone is an amazing professor! She explains every PowerPoint very well in a way that makes it easy to understand the material. She is beyond sweet and cares a lot about her students. She offers extra credit as long as your attendance is good. The exams contain a lot of material, but as long as you begin studying ahead of time, you'll be good!
Loved this history class! Knowledgeable, interesting lectures, you can tell she enjoys teaching. LOTS of lectures, and a LOT of reading, but if you're genuinely interested in history, then it's worth it. She responded to me within an hour of sending any message. I had to spend a lot of time watching lectures, reading, and taking notes, but worth it.
She is such an amazing teacher, she genuinely cares about her students and is so kind. Her lectures are very thorough, and she posts everything online, as well. Her tests are completely open ended, so you do have to know the material to do well on them, but she teaches it very well and is happy to answer any questions.
Professor Manzone is an excellent professor. I had a great time in US History. The class consists only of lectures; and there are three books you have to read, but she is an easy grader. Definitely recommend taking her class.
