At first I didn't I just thought this class was okay. I learned a lot of new info. I got A's and B's on the papers, and the final exam is a take home essay and 5 short answer questions in class. I talked to her in her office the end of the year and found she is very nice and fun to talk to.I liked it overall and would recommend her. .

I found Prof. Morrison kind of boring. Her lectures were hard to follow, not only because they were at 7:45 AM in a huge auditorium with 200 other people, but also because she did nothing but lecture. There were no interesting anecdotes or anything to keep the class engaged. I literally had to force myself to go.

There is never a rubric for any essays. Lectures are extremely long and Morrison always looks disinterested in what the students have to say. Graded off of a few essays and participation points. 1:25 class feels like days during her discussions/lectures.

If you want to fall asleep during her online lectures or die of boredom then this is the teacher for you. She literally reads her lectures straight from a textbook instead of actually teaching you anything. She has the personality of a rock and will get irritated if you ask a question. She shows zero desire to be in class at all. AWFUL! DO NOT TAKE

Not only is participation graded every class (she doesn't call on everyone), but you are graded (harshly) on 3 essays for the entire class. The textbook is the most boring thing I've ever attempted to read, the lectures were LONG and hard to force yourself to listen to. She doesn't communicate well or reply to any emails. NOT worth it for a gen ed.

You only have 4 assignments in the grade book which are 3 exams and then a grade for participation at the end of the semester (show up to class and you will be fine). I had it blended/online so the lectures were long but as long as you take notes from the video lecture, you should be able to get through the essays. Class was easy but takes work.

Heidi is extremely knowledgeable about the topic of his110. She is very passionate about the history, and wellbeing of childhood and children. Its a hybrid/ online lecture, + in class discussions. Her lectures can be slow and a bit dull, and her quiet demeanor overshadows her real passion. Do the readings, don't be afraid to speak in discussion.

Class only meets 10 times and 2% is taken off your final grade for every class missed due to attendance grading and discussion grading. Extremely harsh grader and one bad grade can almost guarantee you at a maximum of a B for your final grade.

I took Childhood over J-Term, and is the hardest class I've ever taken. Says in the syllabus that you will fail the class if you are bad at time management. She failed one of my assignments because I did not connect it directly to the reading (I didn't have a quote). She is knowledgeable but is crazy hard on her students. I wouldn't recommend her!

I took this class over J-term. You just have to take notes on the lectures and do the readings. With every assignment just relate it to the book and lecture at least once in every assignment. The nice part about this class was that the exams were just papers that ranged from 950-1200 words but if you go in depth enough it should be easy.

The class is no different from her History 110 class, other than somehow being more boring. the class covered almost no memorable material, and lectures were either her monotone voice or videos that did most of the work for her. The only aspect of the class saving her as a professor is that she doesn't care about students paying attention or not.
