I am very glad that I took her for this class. This IS NOT an easy class, at least not for me, but she has been very helpful, her lectures are fun, and she teaches you tricks to memorize formulas. But you gotta study and do homework to get good grade!!!

I suck at math but still passed Bus Calc. Prof PARRA is Awesome, She spends time with each student and makes sure that you succeed. Class is not easy because its still Calculus, but if you have to take it, take it with HER!

The subject was difficult, not the teacher. She was so nice and helpful during the semester. Her willingness to help students one on one enabled many to pass the class. Would highly recommend this teacher. Excellent teaching style.

Great instructor! Super nice and always willing to give extra help. It's a hard class, but her teaching style makes it much easier. Quiz are always take home, and exam are very similar to quiz and homework. Never try to trick you on the test.

Greatest math professor I've ever had. Very nice and sweet, super helpful. She'll give you a good idea of what's on the test, and is always available for one-to-one help if you need. Material is hard, so if you need to take it, take it with her!!!!!

I got a B in 150 and I started out with an F. She helped me out the whole semester and kept me positive. She is very clear and explains well. Her exams are very similar to the quizzes and practice tests.

She is a great teacher. She helps you both in class and out of class. Her tests aren't super easy, but if you study and do all of your homework you will do well

Ventures all ways to communicate trig to students. She's sweet, nice, & cool about things. She is a great teacher for this subject. U can't fail if u put the effort to do the hw. Helpful & highly recommended. Course grade is based on take home quizzes, exams, & final only.

excellent teacher i never knew trig was straight-forward and fun to learn. I especially like her perfect drawing examples and succint explanations on concepts. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Best math teacher I ever had!

She is a very cool teacher. If you ask for help she will try to help.You just have to make the effort to ask her for help or go 2 her office.She is very fast @ teaching but has very neat writing.

She is a very sweet lady but she didn't assign homework for our class, which proved to be a problem for me. I understood at lectures, but did terrible on the tests. It was the first "C" I've gotten in school in the last 4 years.

I hate math but found her teaching style very good and easy to understand. I like her personality & she is approachable. She does not get defensive if you don't understand. Great for those who hate math!

Never assigns homework, so I got my first C as a college student in her class. Lectures are easy to understand, but then bomb the tests. Not necessarily remcommended unless you're strong in math.

If you can pass math without doing homework, take her; the lectures are clear and she doesnt mind taking time to help students, but if you need homework to understand the material, steer clear.

the best math teacher i've had ever. period. i hated math with passion but she makes me understand everything. she assigns a lot of homework but it helps because some questions from test, especially word problems, are straight from the hwk. she explains the reasons behind every mathematical rules or formulas. take her class. it's so worth it.

She is a great teacher! She explains well, she gives lots of examples, she gives points for homework. The exams are fair. I totally recommend her. She is super!

She gives a lot of homework now, but HW really helps in math and is easy points. Explanations are very clear and she's always willing to answer homework questions in the beginning of class. She gives practice tests which cover everything on the real tests, and extra credit is also available after each test. Excellent teacher.

AWESOME TEACHER!!! Took Heidi for Math 51 in Fall 06 and she is the best math teacher. Very helpful, makes sure you have all the info for exams, and makes everything easy to understand.

I took her class fall 2006. She is one of the best math teachers that I have had at Mt Sac. She has the ability to relate and explain trig to all levels of students. Her office hours are for two hours/week per class but is willing to spend extra time if needed; answers all e-mail inquiries. Makes trig understandable; highly recommended.

this class is pretty easy if u r good at math. even if u r not u can still A's the class. all u got to do is do all the HW. becuase all the test questions come from HW and the quiz question too. group quiz. everything is easy if u do the HW. also provide study guide. very nice lady. always there to help.

she is such a dedeicated professor and cares so much about her students. i went to all of her office hours and it helped so much. i got an A with lots of hard work and practice and going to her office hours. she gives hw, study guides, and take home quizes. she open to questions all the time! i love her! great person to look up to!

She is nice & very helpful but sometimes provides too many options to work out problems. Gives word problems from every chapter (not all professors do this) Must be ON TIME or won't give you credit for HW. Collects HW every class, not just on test day. Rules are too strict for college level and I think she makes it more difficult then necessary.

She was very clear on how to work out the problems. Only have to complete 15 homework assignments for credit, everything else after that is extra credit. Her tests are pretty short and easy. She's willing to help you out especially if you ask for it and go during her office hours. Although, she can become boring at times.

Learning higher math can be difficult and same goes with teaching it. However, Heidi does a good job explaining things best as she can. Has lot of PATIENCE with students not grasping ideas. Math requires practice,hw is key. She gives the necessary tools to go home and do the hw and study guides. Your work ethic dictates your grade. Take her.

Even though I struggled with math, Professor Parra is very good in explaining all of the math example equations we do in her class. I would suggest her if your one who needs detail explanation of a problem. With that said I would choose to take one of her other classes in the future.

What a wonderful lady. She CARES so much! Yes, lots and LOTS of homework but you need it ALL so the tests can be a bit more of a snap for you. Utilize her office hours and the MARC! FORM STUDY GROUPS! Take Gary Long's Math 96 strategies class as well. Take her and practice... makes perfect! Relax, breathe and PAY ATTENTION!

She's a decent teacher, I guess. I just felt like the class was really rushed, the whole semester. I don't think it's really her, but maybe Trig just has a much larger volume of information you have to master than most classes. My IQ is 140 but I had a tough time learning all this in such a short time frame. Heidi helped a lot though.

Shes chill. though calculus is hard she kiiiinda makes it easy. hw is the key! gives really hard study guides but the test are waaay easier than the study guide. gives extra credit for doing the study guide. if you fall behind in this class your screwed. so dont! i heard her office hours really help. class isnt to fast you just gotta pay attention.

Absolutly loved her. She is so thorough with her teaching. If you need help she is more than willing to help. Cares a lot for her students so she will go the extra mile for them. there is a lot of homework but it is for your benefit. Test questions come from the homework. Study and do the homework and you'll be fine.

I just wanted to say I completely hated Trig Before I took her, but she is indeed an amazing teacher. She guides you through your work, do the home work and the quizzes, and turn your homework in. You will get an A for sure.

Heidi Parra is very kind and sweet woman but has a very peculiar way of teaching! This current semester she decided to go about a "experimental" method that involves minimizing lecture time in class and stresses watching videos that she posts on a site! Recommended class for those that are comfortable with teaching themselves material!

great professor! very understanding and assignments are key to passing the exams. if you dont do them, you will NOT do very well because they help you get ready for them. study guide provided. just follow it and you should pass. some extra credit. passed with a very high A. although half the class was struggling. STUDY and understand the homework!

Pretty easy, tests are pretty easy, IF YOU CAN EASILY COMPLETE HW YOU ARE MORE THEN PREPARED FOR THE TESTS. Lots of HW and its worth like .4% of overall grade but it really drills the lesson home. Fair amount of EC.

Professor Parra was one of the most helpful professors I have met. I had a lot of trouble with trig, but took the time to attend office hours and get help. Professor Parra was extremely helpful and I probably spent more time in office houses than the class. She's really patient and kind when helping out her students. Ended the class with an "A"

she does not care if homework is done. her grading is hard. she treats students as if they are at her level of inteligence. she should think that not everybody is smart as her.

Very good instructor and gives you all the tools you need to pass her class through her lecture notes. Never really needed to open the book except for homework because she explains everything to you in detail. She is a little soft-spoken so sit towards the front. She didn't collect homework but be sure to do it, practice makes perfect in 51.

I had to take Trigonometry in order to satisfy my Math requirement, and this class was much easier than Plane Geometry! Parra was a really helpful and nice person to have as a math professor, and she makes almost every Trig lesson easy in a snap! I would definitely recommend her for Trigonometry!

Professor Parra was extremely helpful and encouraged study groups which helped a lot. She was always open to helping and extended her office hours to helping students.

Heidi is an amazing teacher. Lectures are clear and understandable. Truly cares about her students and is always willing to help. Make friends and visit her office hours if you're really stuck. Homework is mandatory and doing all assignments counts for xtra credit at the end! Lastly, sit towards the front because she has a really soft voice!!

I loved her! This was my second time taking a class with Professor Parra and she is the most helpful math instructor I've had yet. She cares for her students and makes the material very clear. I would definitely recommend her to anybody who has trouble understanding math. She's totally quirky and really nice!

She is a soft-spoken lady so it's best to sit up in the front. Her exams are worth a lot of points, which pretty much determines your grade in the class. She is challenging, but if your up for the challenge take her!

Heidi Parra is a good teacher. She didn't assign homework for this class which can affect your motivation to try but please do the homework it'll help for quizzes and tests. But other than that she's not a bad professor for this course. Though there are some things that can throw you off. I do recommend but then I don't. It's your choice anyway.

Professor Parra is very nice. Homework is optional, collected on test day. Quizes are take home (drops lowest one) and you are allowed to work on them with classmates. She does give a study guide with material that will be in exam. Also since homework is optional she does provide an extra credit opportunity if you turn it in at the end of semester.

Overall great professor. Professor Heidi was there when I needed her. Her lectures are very clear, she does not cut around edges to make class shorter. I have never had a math professor as amazing as Parra! She has a passion for math which makes it easier to learn and her lectures are easy to follow step-by-step. Homework is optional but I HIGHLY recommend that you do it because it helps a lot on the test. Overall, an easy class and a great, passionate professor!
