She is a great teacher! She really cares about her students and REALLY helps them learn! If her students do not understand what she is saying, she repeats it and is VERY clear. Very nice!! Her tests are a bit challenging, but as long as you study your notes you should be fine! I really look forward to coming to class, which usually does not happen.

Her class was extrememly interesting. I liked her as a teacher and her examples were really good. Even though her test are multiple choice they are challenging. The book is secondary to taking good notes. I also liked that she remembers everyones name...impressive :)

Extremely CLEAR, and VERY helpful. She makes sure that no one's behind. She does give work, but because you'll understand her lectures, h.w. and tests will be a breeze. If you hate dealing with numbers, then you're probably better off with her.

Great teacher, fun lectures. A lot of note taking, her exams are based on your notes, not so easy though. A couple of papers, one short and one long, about 10 pgs. I'm taking her again for 418A. Recommended!

THIS LADY REALLY KNOWS HER STUFF!!! She gives a lot of info, and her tests (3) can be a bit difficult if you don't study, but plenty of Xtra credit and an opinion-based paper. To fail this class, you would have to put in zero effort of your own, or be clinically brain dead! Take her class!!!

She is a great professor, make sure to take notes from the slides (she doesn't post them on webct). Most of the questions on the midterm & final are from the slides. She only makes you write one paper (8-12 pages), and she gives you tons of help on it. Overall shes a cool professor, and I recommend her.

We had to write two papers. They were not easy but I got A's. Her tests are difficult so you do have to study a lot for them. But she is there to help you. she proof read my papers and told me exactly what I needed to get an A. I recommend her just ask for help, she is very helpful and cares about her students.

Took her for 388 and 418A. She's very nice and WILL know your name within a few weeks. Attendance is always mandatory and counted towards your grade (about 20%), but she allows you 2 absences with no excuse and you'll still get the 20%. Also offers a lot of extra credit (helps too). Better take notes fast in class or by laptop and study them hard.

Dr. Riggio is an outstanding professor. Yes, her exams are hard but that's only because she expects a high level of performance and dedication from her students. I am lucky enough to have had her twice. I got a B in her first course and an A in her second. She not only teaches the course throughly, she prepares you for other psych courses.=o)

Dr. Riggio is a professor that you will never forget. Her teaching style is not for the light-hearted (she is tough. She not only teaches the information, she teaches you how to properly synthesize it. There are professors who teach information. I consider her a professor who teaches knowledge. Great professor wonderful person.

She's like the female Dr.Stenstrom. Hilarious, relatable, clear, to the point, and understanding. Her exams are 99% based off of her lecture power points so copy everything and don't miss a class. It's a lot of work and a lot of study material but, again, put in the time and work and you'll get a good grade. HIGHLY recommend

I love this professor! She ALWAYS comes to class with a positive attitude. She is passionate about what she does, cares for her students and is super nice. But tests are not that easy. You need to take notes and study them ALL! She makes it easier to learn material by giving examples. She seems like a feminist which is why I liked her even more.

Dr. Riggio is amazing! She's full of energy and makes class worthwhile. Although this course was somewhat of an introduction to the major course, I found all the assignments to be helpful. However, there weren't a lot of assignments to help keep your grade afloat so if you bomb 1 or 2 there goes your A. Studying and attendance are mandatory.

She's a sweet, knowledgable woman. I couldn't get the feel for how she tests for the final being that she doesn't administer a midterm. I didn't like that. I must say she is very helpful and friendly. She wrote a letter for me w/out asking! I found it hard since not much tests leading up to final exam....

Dr. Riggio is my favorite professor of all time. I wish I could take all of my psych classes with her. She is a tough grader, but if you pay attention and study the notes, there should be no difficulty in passing the class with at least a C. She makes you learn a lot through her hilarious stories and personal experiences.

I was scared at first because everyone's saying her tests are hard. Her tests ARE hard. It's not just definitions, it's concepts, but they're all out of your notes. So, take good notes (you won't have problem staying awake - the woman knows how to lecture). Very passionate and helpful. All 3 tests are not cumulative.

She has really good lectures so don't worry about falling asleep. The test are hard just as long as your study you will be fine. Very nice and interesting professor, only 3 test and explains what will be on it ! However if you fail a test it's hard to bring up your grade .

As a professor, Riggio is great at giving lectures, but when it comes to her tests, you feel like you haven't learned anything, even if you studied for a week before hand. Your entire grade relies upon 3 tests, including the midterm and final. If you aren't a good test taker, try to find a different prof, because Riggio's are HARD.

Fantastic professor! She makes class interesting and wants you to learn. Her tests are no joke though; write down what's on the power points and write down details when she goes in depth. There's a lot of stuff to memorize; study at least a week in advance. She passes the attendance sheet around for you to sign, so don't think of skipping class.

Dr. Riggio is such a passionate woman in general and towards social psychology. Her lectures are very interesting and the material was easy to grasp as long as you attended class everyday. There was some mixed reviews about her course being difficult, but I think if you work hard you should earn an A. She is also pretty funny :D

Professor Riggio is awesome and has a great sense of humor. However, her test are pretty tough. I was afraid I was not going to pass her class but thankfully I did. She does provide study guides for her exams but most of it is based on lectures. So if you don't attend class it'll be pretty difficult for you to pass the class.

Prof Riggio is such an inspiration. Although this class was one of the hardest psych classes I've taken, if you're dedicated and love psychology, you will get your A. Go over your tests with her during office hours to see your mistakes. She accepts drafts for the term paper to help you. You gotta go to class for the notes. No slides provided.

Dr. Riggio is a top- notch professor/expert. She really wants to help students learn and cares about the community of CSULA as a whole. She's responds to emails, is accessible during office hours, and her lectures are something to look forward to because she's hilarious. Tests are HARD. Expect a reality check after the first Test.

The structure is half learning about the psych major, half learning how psych is a science. There are 2 assignments about the major. 2 article analyses/essays which help to learn how to read scholarly journals and to format APA style. 1 test which is a final. 1 quiz just about the requirements of psych as a major. I advise taking detailed notes.

This professor is awesome! She is very passionate about her teachings, and shes caring and makes a lot of jokes. You will learn a lot in this class, her quizzes are tough so be prepared (we are college students after all) I recommend this class no doubt. Professor Riggio uses her platform as a professor to spread awareness which is amazing! Ty Dr!

Riggios lectures are amazing, never a boring moment in her class. However, her tests are extremely difficult. I studied weeks before the tests and still received a B. I would still take her classes because i learned so much in her classes. Just make sure you study weeks ahead and pay close attention to her lectures! Tests are 99% on lectures.

Dr. Riggio is the most passionate professor I've ever had. which is why she is especially more strict with the material she teaches. she DOES NOT give you the powerpoint lectures, you must attend every class. she elaborates a lot on her lectures and her powerpoints so write everything she SAYS! only hands out tests no assignments, study hard!
