She is a really unclear horrible professor. we think she drinks lke ten cups of coffe b4 class she's nuts. Anyway i think she would be cool if she actually taught something.

This teacher was terrible. First off, she made us sit in a big circle like a bunch of kindergarteners, and second, she gave me a C on my final paper because she "didnt like the works cited page". Oh, and she made us do mundane things that in no way related to the class.

She is one of the worst professors in that school. I had to withdraw from her class in the Fall 2004 semester. Her expectations were too high. As a matter of fact, she wanted all of the students papers to be perfect (no mistakes at all). Not recommended to have as an english professor

she is a horrible professor, she hates indian people. She gives millions of essay to write and each essay should be done 10 times n should be shown to her everytime. The highest grade a person can get is D-. 99.5% fails in her class.

Professor Swanicke was very flustered every class and was not prepared for her classes. She never prepared us for the research paper and gave the majority of the class C- or D's.Much more concerned with her attire than her students.

Swanicke is a horrible professor. The class was taught through her workbook, which she wrote, and is FILLED with mistakes and contradicting answers. She did not teach, and I did not learn... very wasteful.

swanicke is the work professor on the campus and I dont know how she still teaches here..someone should moniter her classes one day she is absolutely wacked out and wastes everyones time and money...she's crazy...if you ever decide to take her your in for hell.

I believe this professor experiments with drugs prior to coming to class. She rarely remembers her plans as therefore when we do "as she said" we end up being wrong. Professor Swanicke has two Master's degrees in English, and still has ZERO grasp on the subject. You could learn just as much by regularly conversing with a hobo on the street. Don't waste your time.

I didn't want to admit it, but this professor has some bias and needs to learn how to teach. She doesn't have clear criteria, so she expects the writing center does her Job. Routinely rude to ESL students. Class consists of nothing more than assignments and her proofreading some unlucky soul's paper for all to see instead of actually teaching anything. Also will talk at length about the evils of stem cell research, and you will get graded worse if you try to take up a contradictory stance on a paper.

I emailed her and she ignored my email, had the audacity to email the class about a different assignment, without answering my completely normal and justifiable question. I took her online course Spring Semester 2021. Up to the midterm which was 2 1/2 months in, there was only 2 graded papers, which I received 2 65s on. Ive never gotten below a B on a paper. As I was about to start the midterm on zoom she advised if you have a D or F to drop the class. Gave me no hope in myself to even try & pass the class.

Attempts to teach "deep" subjects but does not have the capacity (or sympathy) to teach them. Classroom has a particularly hostile feeling because of her negative and needlessly intense attitude. Sends students to the learning center instead of teaching. Doesn't want you to write your own essays with your own thoughts.

Please save yourself by simply avoiding her. She simply refuses help to ANYONE. She will specifically tell you to go to the writing center and will offer no help whatsoever outside of class. She would tell you exactly what to write when correcting essays or journals but when it's time to turn it in she takes points off. She started the semester with 21 students and ended with 11 at the end.

I would not recommend this class for anyone, if you need to take this course i would look for a different professor because her way of teaching is very bad. This professor honestly deserves a zero. I have taken middle school english classes that are taught better than she has. She teaches at a middle school level and is always grammatically incorrect. It is honestly better to take six classes the following semester instead of taking her as a professor. In all seriousness DO NOT REGISTER WITH THIS PROF.

Please do NOT take this class. The other ratings are not dramatized they are very true. The professor didn't look like she wanted to be there. I started a semester with a class of 22 that dropped to 11 by the next week. Her criticism isn't constructive or helpful we were told exactly what to write and she would say that her own words were wrong.

Avoid at all cost. You don't write her way, you will fail. I was out for 2 days, and an essay was due, she said I could email it to her, she got it, and I still got a grade of "missing". Do not take this class. It's impossible to succeed unless everything is done her exact way. No creativity or separate opinions are allowed for the essays. She berates students in class like we are children. Instead of working with the students to help them succeed she just tells them to drop the class because your not at the "skill level" for it.

Class started with around 22 students. A week later there is 11 students. Besides being a terrible teacher, she is just a terrible person. She's honestly a narcissist. Its her way or no way. Impossible to be successful in her class.

She constantly made outward performance of her wokeness and brought up her ancestral ties to Holocaust survivors as a shield.She also slapped a student(Fall23)

first day I knew this class was going to be a doozy. she took 10 points off of my rhetorical analysis essay because I didn't start my conclusion with "in summary." she also told an autistic kid in my class to throw his paper in the garbage and that she won't be grading it. oh yeah, almost all of her assignments are AI generated and incomprehensible

This professor is by far the worst I've had. She acts as though she's teaching at an Ivy League school, but her teaching is mediocre at best. She constantly compares college to high school, yet behaves immaturely. She doesn't explain assignments clearly and blames students when issues arise.

Instead of teaching us literally anything she would start to get worked up over how she "cannot baby us anymore". She is also racist and overall out of touch. Do not take any of her classes whatsoever!

I didn't like this professor. She often repeated herself or went on tangents. Her grading system is loose, and essay and research paper grades can vary massively even if they're written with the same effort and quality. Her approach to specific sensitive topics is outdated. Many other professors can teach you the content without the negativity.

Please do not take this professor i wasted my time and money to take this class i did not check rate my professor prior 1 month into the class i lost motivation she has a terrible way of teaching i would say she is a nice person outside of school but in terms of teaching she is very strict.

I regretted every moment in her class. I had accommodations for the class and she followed the minimum so she wouldn't get in trouble.The last straw was during a group project that under circumstances I had to put in my part last minute and for that she talked down to me in front of the entire class. I was embarrassed and felt on the verge of tears

She had high expectations and specific ways she wanted us to write but instead of teaching us how to do so she just told us to go to the writing center, then fails you when your paper isn't to her standards.
