Terrible teacher, hard to understand, hard tests, and very mean
Heavy accent and poor command of English, makes a difficult subject harder
No Comments
Her notes are very clear and concise her accent isnt. tests are semi-hard
very organized; fairly easy exams
lecture notes very clear; fairly easy class
fairly easy class
easy A if you attend class
Hard class!
her tests are very difficult...she is very mean
DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!
The worst teacher! She got hard over the summer. Needs to get that 2.0 average
Super nice, willing to clarify, understandable lectures.
Nice lady, but couldn't understand a word.
Test are from the IDS Department (hardest). Do not take under any circumstances!
try to put all slides on cheat-cheat for test, easy B, nice, study probs in book
Screw this class. Take Lackwritz. Take Yang and get ready 4 course forgiveness

don't take over summer! Shes nice but hard to understand

Yang's English is very poor, and is often very difficult to understand. I recommend not taking yang under any circumstances. I hear Rafaat is much easier. If you do take her class sit in the front, it makes it easier to understand her Chinese.
difficult class, take raafat

I hear other professor is easier. This lady is very hard. I got "C" had okay test grades, have to attend class to pass
She is the worst teacher ever. Doesn't explain herself and exams are Extremely unreasonable.
VERY HARD exams, really tricky. I tried MY BEST- attended A+ review, could not eat on time, could not sleep early.. did everything... what did I get??? an F that almost ruined my determination to continue pursuing my career... sucks!
nice teacher, just a lot of information
You can't understand a word she says. Office hours are useless. Makes u feel stupid! Powerpoints are far from what is on the exam. Exams unbearably hard. It takes you the entire class time and you still will have half the exam to finish. DO NOT TAKE!!
all i gotta say is DO NOT ASK HER questions during class or she'll embarass the hell out of you. her lectures seem easy...but her test questions are VERY tricky...50% conceptual and 50% quantitative. 4 very hard online (timed) quizzes.take Rafaat instea
TERRIBLE TEACHER! WORST CLASS EVER! If you need to take this class, take it with somebody else! 4 online quizes on "BRACKBOARD". She likes loves trick questions. You will dread going to class!
She is easy, but the subject is a little difficult. So don't blame on her. 4 tests, she gave bonus to each test, and the highest of the 4 test will be double counted. So if you achieve B level, you'll actually get A. One-line quiz is a little confusing.
When she lectures you can't understand her through her accent. She moves really fast through her notes and doesn't explain material well. This is partially a math class and involves many formulas and she lectures like it is a history class.
If your idea of passing a class with an A easily is to pay A+ review $189 for the 3 review sessions, then take Dr. Yang. If you go to lectures and want an A, be perpared to spend some time on this subject, and bring your math skills with you.
If you have IQ of 7/10, and hard working attitude, it is not hard to get an "A" from this class. One cheat-sheet is allowed every test. No homework, really need not to read that much of the text book.
Her quantitative tst ?s are unfair. I understood the concept but she makes you go an extra step to find the answers on her tst?s.Sometimes I doubt if she's really trying to teach or just trying to impress her students.
hard exams.
she is a horrible teacher, who tries to impress everyone with tricky tests, she is not helpful and has a little bit of an attitude towards her students
Worst teacher ever, doesn't know how to teach, bloody difficult tests, online quizzes, stay away from her. Take anybody else.
Buy her lecture notes and you'll be fine. The online quizzes are fairly straight-forward. Obviously you need to know the material in order to complete them. Not an easy teacher to understand and isnt that student-friendly. Pulling a B in the class
Extremely hard to understand. Comprehensive final is not very difficult.
She is difficult to understand, test are very challenging and you should plan on spending lots of time studying, plan to go to her office and she will help.

Worst teacher stay clear, have to suffer to get a C, hardest questions on tests not fun at all.
She gives you a full page cheat sheet for each exam. If you get 31 questions right out of 33, you get 100%. On quizzes, if you get a question wrong, you still get half the points. Read the book and go to class and you'll do fine.
Yang is a good teacher who takes the rap for a hard subject. Her exams usually include at least one homework problem you've seen before, and she gives extra credit. You have to work hard in this class, but she's there to help if you need her.
I'm really surprised at how low some rated her -- it's a tough class but that's not her fault. Her lectures are clear, so I don't know why people keep running to A+ review. I got an A in her class without having to do that.

She is not a bad teacher, she actually explains very good. She is kind of confusing in her exams, which I also think they are kind of long. But I never went to A+ review and I scored a high B. Do excersises, she takes some problems for exams and quizes.
You can not understnad one word she is saying. It is a struggle to stay in her class beacuse she is so boring and just reads off of her power points. I am a good student but I have to retake this class because it was horrible.
good luck with this class! online quiz are timed. Will need to do all homework to help you pass tests. Doubles your highest score though that might help your grade. teacher lectures are on powerpoint but sometimes she is hard to understand.

Absolutely the WORST professor ever!! Her tests are impossible, even with A+ Review. You can't understand a word she says and doesn't explain things at all.
Class is really easy because you're allowed one cheatsheet (double sided). I just would copy all the power point bullet points onto this and then use it to take the test. Got an A. She's hard to understand though and painfully boring. Easy A but I'd find somebody else if possible.
Class is very boring, almost felt asleep every class. Tests are very tricky and you may not understand what she was saying. She knows all the material well, but she doesnt know how to explain to the students.
Some of the comments about the language barrier are unfair. Possibly the people who complained have never heard foreign accents before arriving at SDSU. Dr. Yang speaks English a helluva lot better than some of the students at SDSU. A difficult subject that requires considerable outside study, but Dr. Yang's a class act - a nice lady.

I think Yang makes this class more difficult than it needs to be. Even with a cheat sheet the exams are very difficult. Doing well on the quizes and attendance helped me. I got a average of 78 on exams and got a solid B in the class.
Awful professor, I took A+ Review for the last 2 exams and still got a C. Boring, reads & teaches off Powerpoint, take Lund, I hear he's the best!
The subject itself should be easy, but her exams are freakin complicated. The 3 exams are mult. choice they range from 24-26 questns, & each answers you choose from are relatively very similar. There isn’t enough time to finish the exams so it’s practically normal if you have 4 questns blank. Lectures are boring, she is boring, find someone else.
Best teacher in business department at SDSU. If you do bad in this class it is because you did not try. Dr. Yang is there to help with any problem. And unlike other professors she is excited about what she teaches and she cares about her students. A real treasure for SDSU. Thank you Dr. Yang!
I agree with the comment below. Prof Yang is extremeley helpful and really cares about students. There is a lot of material and you actually do have to study which is implied in a college level course. Don't rely on A+ because they have a tendency to go over the wrong material.
Very easy class to get A. Lectures are a little boring but easy. 2 pg cheat sheet. Ridiculously generous curve. a few quizes. 1 presentation required. I especially liked application teams' presentation showing how real businesses adopt theories. I liked her class.
IDS 302 - Spring 2005 go to class, write the lecture. do the homework. get a B ,, easy.
She provides you with all the info you need to pass the test and is always willing to help. Work on ALL problems that she recommends- that's the key to passing the test. Also, work on your cheat sheet every day after class. Don't depend on A+. Put in the effort and there's no reason not to get an A.
Yang is a good professor. I never read the book, but I went to A+. There are 3 online quizzes and 3 in class quizzes. 3 exams. Attendance is random. I got a B.

CLASS LECTURES CAN BE HARSH AT 2 O'CLOCK WHEN ITS NAP TIME! SHE'S A NICE PROFESSOR THOUGH, AND THE CLASS ISN'T HARD BUT IT'S NOT EASY EITHER. JUST PREPARE WELL FOR THE EXAMS THERE'S ONLY 25 QUESTIONS, NOT TOO MUCH ROOM TO MESS UP, AND THERE ARE ONLY 3 EXAMS, SHE DOUBLES YOUR TOPE SCORE.
Yang is really energentic and a nice woman. Do well on the online quizes and you're fine. Class is extremely boring but thats the nature of this stuff.
Yang for IDS 302 is not to easy or too hard. 3 tests. Questions on test come from hwk and online questions on blackboard. Allow bring cheat sheet, so add hwk problems and online stuff on it to save your life. A+ review helps a little bit, but u got to work harder. Drops 1 lowest quiz, doubles your highest test score. OVerall, it's an Ok class.
This class is surprisingly not HARD. it's an easy C or B- or a B if you did well on all online and in-class quizzes, do well on each extra credit assignment, and attend every class. If you do that and your exam grades are like C to D range, don't worry...you pass. Never used book. A+ Review helps too, but don't rely it too much. allow 1 cheat sheet
Yang is really nice. Didn't use the book that much and it's expensive. No need to go to A+ review and pay to hear that tool. You'll dof ine if you pay attention for 75% of the class
I did not learn much from her, you are better off learning on your own. Study her ppt's & try your best on the quizes, team up with people to help each other out. Exams are tricky and her wording can be confusing, check your tests because I found a typo once. Good luck can't really say I recommend.
I had absolutely no interest in this class but still was able to do well! (and my grades are usually below average) Her tests are NOT hard= she allows a cheat sheet- just make a sample problem that shows you how to calculate and plug the new numbers in on the test. Why are people at SDSU getting dumber and dumber? stop watching the O.C. Thanks.
1 thing i don't understand is. How did one person who went to A+ Review got a freakin' A while who also went got like a C or B- or even a D. I mean i know A+ Review at least helps you in passing the class, but want a A...work harder. IDS 302 w/ Yang is ok. Tests are not that hard, but it's tricky at times. 1 cht sht, do well on quizes, attdn helps.
Yang for IDS 302 is by far an ok class. She's nice in class, but anal in her office in reviewing over tests. Tests are a pretty tricky, as long u do all the recom. prbls, online exercises, and u'll be fine. Put them on cheat sheet helps too. A+ Review is ok, but don't rely on it too much. Do GOOD on quizes and attend all classes to help ur grade.
I would recommend doing all the practice problems online and in text. Allows a full sheet of paper front and back as a cheat sheet for exams. in class quizzes are in groups of 3 or 4. online quizzes are ridiculous because they are usually only 2 questions worth 50 pts. each. attendance helps. thought the class was worse than it really was.
I did not like Yang at all. Her teaching style is poor, and so is her attitude. She seems all nice, but she's not. I asked her a couple of times to post the questions from the online quizzes, she basically said no. The lecture notes she makes you buy are terrible. She needs to provide better (and more) examples.
She is definitely an extremely tough teacher. I really struggled with this class and barely got by, she is nice and helpful but still it is very challenging.
Yangs cool, and pretty funny too. Its not that hard.
Class is hard, hard, hard.

Well she wasn't too bad, but I think this class in general is just a really tough class. Yes, she can be hard to understand, but she does give chances to help your grade so it is not like there is no hope. I don't know how the other teachers might be, she is not too bad but I might recommend a different teacher to take.
Great teacher!! As long as you attend and try you will pass. Sit in front cause she speaks low and moderate accent.
She knows her stuff and is good at teaching it... I got an A- and didn't read the text..A+review isn't needed.
Bleh, not bad but hard to understand. I got a B and I didn't try that hard, so she really isn't that bad compared to other IDS teachers. But, she can be tough to understand at times and does speak low. Overall, not bad for an IDS 302 teacher.
Project Management is a 'must' for anyone in the business world, but Yang did not teach me much. The book was 99% useless; lectures are often incoherent, and hardly linear. She grades participation, but any "good" questions were given a run-around response that didn't really answer the question, or "we'll talk about that later" (which never came)..
Yang isn't as bad as people say. Her tests are just tricky, you have to study for them. Online quizes are easy and you have 2 tries on them. Attendance, quizes, and extra credit help off set tests. Your highest test score is doubled. Yang is nice and sometimes funny. Study and do practice problems and you will do fine in her class.
yang is the worst teacher i ever had SDSU. her notes are terrible and the book was just a waste of money. shes always flying back to china or something and was not even ava. the day before one of our midterms. do not take her
6 online quiz, drops lowest quiz, tells u extly what will be on quiz, 2-3 questions,2 trys. Tells you extly what will be on exam, hw many qustn related to what topic, 32 qustns total, n 8 by 11 cheat sheet. Do practice problems she recommends and use her online assignment to help review for test, some questions come from there. EASY A!!!
tests are not tricky at all. she tells you day before test what will be on test, 32 questions, 16 qualitative, 16 quantitative, tells you x amt. of question will come frm the different formulas or problems she covered in class. eeeeasy! final not cumulative. 1 page cheat sheet. do practice problems, study, and cheat sheet with formulas.
This is teaching! She is very smart, organized, timely, and an outstanding lecturer. She is the best "professor" I've had yet! She makes great use of today's technology & knowledge. The subject is somewhat challenging, but she will TEACH you how it is done. Take her for sure!
Yang is without exception the worst teacher I have had at SDSU. She has errors in almost every problem she presents. Our midterm exam was too long to finish in the 2 hours that we were given so her conclusion was that we (the ENTIRE class) had not studied, including the nuclear scientist. She charges for her slides and has a horrendous accent.
worst teacher ever that i had to post this. i studied so hard and went to the A+ reviews. exams were very tricky and overall i think she just teaches the material in a very complicated way. im re-taking this class with lund and hes by far the best and coolest guy ever. just aced the midterm a few days ago. pls do urself a favor & do not take yang
She's nice but teaches in a very complicated way, I studied hard and it did me no good. In class examples are easy to understand but then when it comes to the tests, super hard and done differently. She does give you a guide of what math problems will be on the test plus a cheat sheet. Will be retaking the class with Lund.
Yang's blue book is really all you need. First tests were very easy in my opinion; if you go to class, pay attention and make a good cheat card you are set. I got a B+ due to senioritis interfering with my focus on the last test but an A is doable. Can hardly understand the teacher, so that might be an issue for some.
she is ok. some people are just lazy and they blame the teacher. lay down the bottle and pick up the books!
Provided a quality learning experience at the graduate level. Offered sufficient challenge in the course bringing in numerous real world examples, respected academic references (case studies, peer reviewed journal articles). Kept the class pace fast, yet manageable. Assignments and tests were challenging, and useful.
Study the slides, prepare a good cheat sheet and you'll be fine.
She is great!
Allows a cheat sheet on exams. Use it! She is very hard to understand, speaks quietly with a strong Asian accent, makes the class dull. She really seems to enjoy the subject she teaches. Takes attendance EVERY class. One group project, a couple online quizzes and a couple tests. Take notes while she is teaching, esp on the math.
Do not miss class - The test problems come from examples like those in her lecture notes and the book does them differently. cheat sheats were allowed - and saved my life. difficult to understand at first because she wanted to use a microphone that echoed for the first half of the semester - much easier afterwards. enthusiastic about subject.
Excellent professor. Very fair grader. Very passionate about the subject. This was my favorite class last semester. Attendance is mandatory. Dr. Yang goes out of her way to help students in her class and with internships & network opportunities. One of the best overall teachers I've ever had.
i definitely would not recommend taking her. She is really hard to understand (strong asian accent) and goes way too fast to be able to comprehend what she is talking about. She does allow a cheat sheet on the exams. Attendance is MANDATORY, she has a sign in sheet every class. Never lets you out early either. Stay away if you can
This is an OK class. Must go to class she has a sign up sheet. She allows a cheat sheet for each exam (only one sided). Her tests are only like 20 to 22 questions so the margin of error is really low, its possible to get a C on all the exams but still get a B in the class. Goes over her notes very fast, buy her lecture notes like she suggests
Yang is alright. She gave 4 tests this semester, and allowed as a one-sided cheat sheet, the tests count a total of 70% of your grade. Quizzes are 20%, Homework 5%, and Attendance 5%. However, she does take attendance every day so you can't miss class. You don't need the book, just her reader. Has a heavy accent but is nice overall.
Never taking her again. Really nice lady, loves the subject but is not a good teacher. Your grade is 70% tests which are hard. The subject is SO boring and she has a thick accent and bad handwriting that makes it hard to follow her.
Very nice teacher. Does have an accent, but you dont have to strain to understand. attendence is mandatory with a sign in sheet daily. Allows a full sheet of typed notes for exams. Some test questions are tricky. Not a grueling class, but some effort is needed to pass.
Very nice lady.Make sure you spend $18 for her reader because she teaches very differently from the textbook. You do have to spend some time on studying for this class as 70% of the grade comes from the exams-which are very identical to the Homework and Quiz questions. She does take attendance.Make sure you read before class as she teaches very fast!
This prof is knowledgeable in her subject but CLEARLY doesn't know how to explain it. It took me around 3 weeks to be able to get used to her asian accent. Second, she is a very hard grader & her class is NOT easy at all. I tried my best at understanding, but if you haven't taken a prior MIS class, this is not for you. I dont recommend her AT ALL!
Don't need book. One Exam (open book, laptop, notes) and three group projects, all of which require a presentation 10-20 minutes The majority of your grade is based on group projects, so cross your fingers that you're put with people that are dependable. Overall, a very boring class. Test was all short answer.
She is a good teacher. Go to class, make a good cheat sheet and you'll be good to go.
Buy the course reader, it has all her PP slides and makes the class easier. 4 MC tests with around 20 questions each. If you make a good cheat sheet, the tests are easy. The online hw and quizes are pretty similar to the tests Q's. Never read the book and just studied the notes/slides and got an A.
Awful teacher. Takes simple concepts and unnecessarily complicates them. Condescending attitude towards any question asked. Book not needed, don't waste the cash. She relies heavily on her $20 course reader. Make your cheat sheet from that and you'll be fine.
This professor is HORRIBLE! She absolutely does NOT help even if you ask her. The best advice she gave me when I asked her to help me with the class and achieve better was"you can take the class this time as a practice, fail it, and then take it again nest semester so you have more knowledge about the subject!" Like who would give such advice!AVOID
She is very passionate about the subject but doesn't know how to teach it and doesn't know how to answer questions if you're confused. Take lots of notes while she's talking. Anything is fair game for a test question. Stay away if you can!
She is not a bad professor. Not the hardest, not the easiest. She is a nice lady, too. 1 cheat sheet (1 side only), 1 project (very easy), hwks and quizzes (not hard), and 3 exams (not cumulative). Exams were ok but you must try to read the book and u will be fine.
Great teacher. You must be willing to put in the time for this class. The material is really interesting. However, you must watch the lectures she posts online, they are more important than going to class (they are on different material). She is very well versed in the subject matter and if you participate and pay attention you will do fine!
Her class does not take too much effort. Most of the test questions come from the course reader. You get a notes sheet on the exam. Make sure to write down everything in her course reader on the notes sheet and you'll be good for the exam. Even though the class is not labeled a hybrid class by the university, she makes it one.
Test all comes from the reading course, she does not use the textbook during lecture. she only cares her class reading course. she does not mention textbook at all whole semester. But you gotta read the textbook if you want to get over 90 score on test. cause all concept questions are coming from the text book! Do not waste money for A+ review!
Dr. Yang is a great professor. I'm taking her right now during summer, and although the class is tough due to the condensed summer schedule, if you go talk to her during office hours, she will help you and motivate you to do well in the course. I would definitely recommend her!
Great professor, not a hard class. Small accent. Treats class like a hybrid though it's not labeled that way. 4 tests, final not cumulative. Can bring a 1 sided cheat sheet to each exam. Each test is about 25 Q's and 2 Q's are extra credit. Online hw every week. Actual book not needed, everything is in her lecture notes book($20). Very nice woman
If you buy her slides booklet and write notes on them while watching the boring yet critical online videos you get the info you need. Class sessions are kinda pointless (you teach yourself with using the videos) Tests and quizzes are somewhat challenging. Avoid large crowded sections as all quizzes are online and the lack of room is a problem.
Yang is a very nice woman and helpful in any way she can. Don't buy the book just get her lecture notes from KB Books. ($20) There are 4 exams, non cumulative, and she gives you a single sided cheat sheet. Only one class a week typically and the rest is just online lectures. Compared to the rest of the BA 360 teachers definitely take Yang.
Her lectures are tedious and monotonous, add an accent and they're unbearable. Her office hours basically boil down to you asking for help and her answer being "check where you did bad and think how you can do better."
This class is not easy. You really have to work and put in time for a good grade. But she is a good teacher. She won't waste your time with nonsense stuff that won't be in the test. She will make sure you get the concept but you do need to put in your own time. buy her lecture book & get the online version of the text book when u sign up for OMLab
Nice lady, but hard class. Do NOT buy the textbook just buy her lecture notes.
Good teacher, just make sure you follow along well and know the examples done in lecture. the notebook she makes you buy will be the best thing to study for the test.
Yang is a good professor, she tells you the exact types of Qs that will be on the exam so there are no surprises. Her course reader goes with video lectures (STUDY OFF THIS!) The material is challenging and requires time and effort, a cheat sheet is allowed on exams and she gave a very easy extra credit assignment which counted towards quiz points.
Her Hybrid class was perfect for me. All you need to do is watch her video lectures (which may be lengthy) and you will do well on the test. Don't bother buying the textbook but you must buy her lecture packet! There's no curve but as long as you watch her lecture videos you will be fine. She really is a great teacher and easy to understand.
If you watch the videos on blackboard and read the chapters, it's not hard at all. Tests are pretty straight forward. Just make sure you understand the exercises she does in class and you'll be fine. I think she is very knowledgeable about the subject.
Operation and Supply Chain is a difficult subject already and having to watch her lecture videos with monotone voice makes the class that much worst. Her test are confusing as well would not recommend taking this class
She allows you to put notes on 1 side for your cheat sheet. Watching her recorded lectures is important. You have to pay for online hw. For the exam, She tells you what to study for. For Quantitative Q's, she tells you what she will test you on. For Concept Q's, she doesn't specify. So pray that what you put on the sheet, will appear on the exam.
OP and SCM is a difficult subject, especially during the 4 week summer session-it was intense. I would recommend taking this over a regular semester, it wasn't worth being rushed and I could have gotten a better grade. 3 tests, multiple quizzes, and lots of HW on MyManagementLab.
Hybrid class structure. Watch the online lectures and take good notes, show up to lectures and pay attention and youll get an A. Go to office hours if you need extra help. Gives you a little bit of extra credit at the end. Love her! Would take again. Overall really nice professor
Yang is a great professor. Carefully listen to lectures, use her lecture book, take notes, go to class and you'll get A's on the test. Never went to A+ review for this course, finished with a 96%.
The homework is fine, but having 5 test plus taking lectures online plus attending classes to get new materials , it is too much work and it is hard to get even C in this class. She does not drop any test , Just take it with another professor
The subject is not easy but the professor is caring and there is a chance of improvement
There is no one better than her for this course. Very fair, nice and easy to follow. There are several quizzes which u do that online 3-4Q. Homework is not heavy, and 3 exams. No accumulated final. Listen to her videos then read the online version of the book. U will get A or B for sure. I didnt go to A+, and I could get A.
First, she has a hard Asian accent which makes the learning material hard to understand. Second, the homeworks are nothing like the test. The reason being is because the homeworks are based on calculations. But, her test are based on calculations and trick questions. Finally, expect to teach yourself on the material.
If you can take another professor, take another one! Yang is a sweet professor but her class is hard and her teaching doesn't help. The class was a hybrid class and the materials is hard for students to be teaching themselves. If you take her, here's my advice, STUDY the lecture book (18$) she has you buy & STUDY the class problems she hands out.
She is awful. Acts like she is the only Professor kids have to take in the university. Is very nice to her students, but is an extremely hard grader and does not want students to pass her class. By far the worst teacher I have ever had in my entire university career. I would rather have a cartoon character for a teacher rather than her!
She acts like she prepares your for quizzes, then once you take them her wording is completely off and makes no sense and does not go based off what she says will be on the quizzes. Exams suck even more. It is my first semester at SDSU all online due to COVID and there is barley ANY resources to help you pass. She has office hours ONCE a week
First off, BA360 is a difficult class with any professor. On our first quiz I got 5% and thought I'd never pass. She is tough but her expectations are very clear and she was actually pretty lenient with grading at the end. Take notes on the lecture and you will be fine! I ended up not even paying attention the whole last unit and ended up with a B.
Very kind teacher overall. MUST watch lectures to do well on quizzes/exams and GO TO OFFICE HOURS (or watch recording). Watching her office hours or going was where she really kind of tells you tips for quizzes/exams. Started off as my hardest class but watch recordings & you can do well!! She cares about her students... make friends with her ;)
Dr. Yang is amazing! Transitioning from a GC to a university, the courseload is shocking for almost everyone, but again, it is upper-division class and it is expected. To get an A in this class, you need to have a broader view of SCM and ask yourself what the ultimate goal is in SCM? A lot of concepts are applicable, so spend some time on them.
This class may seem hard because there's math and it uses Respondus Lockdown Monitor, but it's not bad. Hw gets unlimited attempts and quizzes get 2 (same questions for both tries & it lets you know which ones you got wrong). All 4 exams are 90 minutes for 26 questions. There's also a writing assignment, which she grades generously.
This class is hard regardless of who you have. Yang wants all her students to succeed and puts in the effort to make it possible. Lecture videos could get hard to get through, but that is more of a challenge of online learning than of Professor Yang. She is responsive and sets very clear expectations. BA360 is hard, but Yang is not a bad choice.
This professor is great! Her lectures are so easy to understand and the book was actually also very easy to understand. Don't be intimidated! I highly recommend her!
Unfortunately, I didnt get A nor B as other students did mentioned on their posts. I never got a chance to read textbook simply her summer class was extremely intense. Hws and quizzes were due at the same dates. I watched her lecture videos and took notes, but you have to put an effort by spending more time to study hard if you want A or B grade.
make sure you are always checking Pearson for homework because it won't give you reminders on canvas. you have to calculate your own grade. does not drop any exams. takes the highest of two attempts of quizzes. allowed a cheat sheet for tests. she does not listen to the complaints made by students, it was very frustrating when she kept ignoring ppl
One-sided cheat sheet for exams which helped but still very difficult and stressful. 4 tests, weekly quizzes (2 attempts for quizzes), lots of homework, a case study, and an interview paper that was graded without feedback. She creates her own quizzes/tests and some questions are hard to understand. Very nice and sweet Professor, but hard class.
Professor Yang was an excellent teacher. I would say she was one of the best I have had at SDSU. She really knows her stuff and makes the exams quite difficult. The summer class was not changed to less material, so it was intense as others have mentioned. Be prepared to do all your homework, watch lectures, and read if you can.
At first she seems terrible, but in the end she isn't that bad. Be aware the class uses the proctorio browser extension (requires a webcam) for all exams and quizzes. One thing I really disliked about her was that she has a very strong foreign accent making it hard to understand her. To pass, write example quantitative problems on your cheat sheet.
Honestly this class itself has a lot of material in a short amount of time. She can be difficult to understand. Not the best nor the worst. I barely did anything the second half of the semester and ended with a B+. Study module vids for exams and know how to do the example problems. An A is attainable if you put in the work.
Her first exam was so difficult but luckily there was a curve on it which significantly helped my grade. There are a couple of group projects which are manageable but depends on who you're working with and when you're selected to present. She didn't lecture much in person since you have to teach yourself on your own time with her lecture videos.
She is super nice and even remembers small details when talking about each other's personal lives. The first exam was hard but the other one as well as the group projects were easy. I can recommend her as a professor as well as her Project Management course.
Lectures/examples are posted online (and prob recorded 10 years ago). Majority of grade is based off webcam monitored quizzes & 4 in-person exams. If you have a good cheat sheet, you're very likely to pass. 2 attempts each at quizzes & you get the same questions. Class meetings around once every 2 weeks with extra cred problems. Decent class
Professor Yang's class is no walk in the park. The material is dense, but engaging with the free textbook and lecture videos can really help. Use Unstuck AI and a cheat sheet to ace the exams. Worth the effort if you put in the work.
Probably the worst BA teacher I've had for any BA class. Since you barely meet in person, you're stuck with her online lecture videos, you can't even read her handwriting. The HW doesn't prepare you for the exam, for the last exam she told us to not use the HW with problem sets to study less than 24 hours than the test, like thanks that helps!
Super hard professor to take this class with but you'll learn a lot. She will not give extensions or extra credit of any kind but wants you to succeed. Meh
Just finished her BA360 class. While the professor is nice, she's not a good lecturer, and didn't seem to care at all, and the class barely met in person. The material was difficult, so trying to learn in a theater class full of people felt impossible. The exams were hard, but luckily the homework and quizzes helped save my grade. Avoid if you can.
