Prof. Patil is amazing! I took her for fundamentals of bio 1. The classes were long but her lectures were engaging. She is so approachable and helps you with whatever you need. She wants to see you succeed and is involved in making sure you do! She is by far the best professor I've ever had. Take her!

Dr. Patil is amazing! Although she tends to go fast in her lectures, don't be scared to ask her to slow down, she will break everything down for you very well! You can tell she loves biology and she will spark interest in you as well, TAKE HER!

Dr. Patil is great! She assigns a lot of homework but the homework is found on the exams, so it's great study material (and extra points). She likes participation. Be sure to attend every class. If you are having trouble, she will slow down for you and will help you to fully understand the material. Definitely take her class! It's worth your time!

Professor Patil was by far the most amazing professor I've ever had. The material for Biology is tough but she was always willing to happily explain it as many times as it took for you to understand. It's obvious that she teaches because she literally loves it not just for the money. She shows up with a smile on her face and does a superb job!

The best biology teacher at Valencia. very hard class though, she helps you understand the concept even if you ask her 100 questions she wouldn't get tired, she will keep answering them until you finally understand. She doesn't really budge on due dates and doesn't take any kind of excuse, she believes all her students are equal. She's great!

The professor makes her teaching adaptable to her students. She provides PowerPoints, board drawings, and detailed lectures with stories to help the student understand the material and to understand relatable applications to the real world. A very hard class. Her exams are critical thinking questions, which makes it hard to get an A. But her homework and quizzes for each chapter help out a lot. She helped me when I struggled in the beginning and motivated me to try hard and learn the right way. She does not want you to memorize but understand the concept. She is simply GREAT!

PROFESSOR PATIL IS LITERALLY AWESOME!!! But prepare to work for your grade... but most of the quizzes and homework questions are on quizlet so don't worry too much about that. But the test... STUDY and do all of the "floating points" she offers!

This professor is very super organized. she does a great job teaching in a variety of ways while maintaining structure. She is extremely wonderful and I would recommend her to anyone. it's just really fast pace class but professor helps out a lot- first reading assignments, then homework , then quiz and then tests. She gets you ready for it!

Professor Patil is great, she listens and cares. This class is not easy but the way it is organized sets you up for success, if you study. I took her hybrid flex class. It is a lot of information in six weeks. We have two weeks left in the class but she really takes the time to help you learn the concept. Don't expect to just get an easy A.

She offers to stay and help, and other options to get help besides just the classroom. This class is super difficult, so if you want to succeed have to follow all the due dates. Honestly I love how this professor teaches. She is so bubbly enthusiastic and makes microbiology fun. I love all her learning styles and she incorporates every single learning style there is. She gives you everything you need to be successful in this course. You just have to equally put the amount of work into it as well.

It had been 10 years since my last science class when I took Dr. Patil for Bio I & I liked her so much that I took Micro with her as well. She is tough but fair & sticks to her lesson plan & grading criteria. Do HW as you go b/c she doesn't collect it but at the end of the course it counts for extra credit. For me, this is a class that would be better as a two-part class. Microbiology is a difficult course, no matter where you take it or who you take it with. Dr. Patil is tough on her students, but it motivates us to learn more. Overall this class was good, we have been lectured on difficulties in our labs.

Fast paced but she is an amazing teacher! She makes descriptive diagrams and flowcharts and makes sure everything is easy to understand. Very time consuming class. Lecture portion is ok but labs are difficult. Short answer questions for lab quizzes. Multiple choice for lecture. Professor explains really well and is helpful. Great class! Be prepared to read a good amount and watch a handful of videos for each module. There is a weekly discussion board where you can apply what you have learned and earn some extra credit. It was tough at times, but with hard work is manageable.

A lot of in class explanations is in the lab help with understanding along with side jokes to remember the information. The videos on Blackboard were the most helpful. Lecture videos and doing practice problems saved my grade. The professor is really good at explaining the topics. But you have to work hard in this class. There are a lot of tests.

we had a really small class and that helped in getting a lot of personalized attention. The professor is awesome, very quick to reply emails. Her concept maps are a blessing. I have known Professor Patil for a few years as I took her for multiple courses. Never have I met a professor that is so passionate about biology, and the most genuinely caring person. Anyone that needs biology or microbiology, I can't recommend this professor enough; but know this class is extremely difficult.

Biology is a tough class but she makes it very do-able. Her class is a mixed mode. So you have to be present in lab but all her lectures are online and they are pretty simple and she explains things pretty well. I would take her again. She also adds 10% extra credit which helps a ton! If you thinking about taking her. TAKE HER shes great.

Prof Patil is extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter, in a functional sense can break a complex concept into a more basic idea. Provided meaningful ways or remembering things.  Lots of opportunities to enhance your learning.  This is a difficult class but she rewards hard work and gives many opportunities to succeed.

I took this online class and I can honestly say, I learn so much. Professor is very structured and class format is good. The only problem is there are two exams in the testing center. But professor has set the class to make sure you will know the important material. There are quite a few assignments and then the weekly setup is same. Good class.

Professor Patil was one of the most passionate professors about Biotechology. Her hands on labs are amazing and teaches you a lot of skill, you realize how much you learned by the end of the course. A little overwhelming for a class with no science pre-rec. Some work didn't make sense; easy quizzes as long as you study and know the main points.

Great class! More than I anticipated it would be. Learning about microbiology during a pandemic is a once in a lifetime experience. It made me feel better about what is happening in the world when we are learning about the topics covered in this class.  I have learned a lot and thanks to my instructor, Dr. Hemagi Patil.

COVID-19 didn't interrupt our class. I'm thankful my professor is on top of things, and we didn't skip anything. Thanks to Dr. Hemagi Patil, for her hard work, dedication, and passion that she has for what she does, which was evident in every single session we had. She made microbiology enjoyable and making it my favorite class!

Micro is a hard subject but this professor is very organized and offers extra credit. I took the hybrid version and she always answered emails promptly. She provides recorded lectures to help you learn the material and her homework usually has questions used on exams. Her lab exams are straightforward and she makes sure you're prepared.

Each chapter professor gives a list of terms and an outline. each week is one chapter, reading, homework, quiz and discussion. It was easy to go through every week in a similar format. Some chapters have file submission. midterm and finals are big, but everything comes from what is in the lessons. Organized, easy to follow. Recommended!

Overall, I really enjoyed taking this course. I learned a lot and had a great experience. Unfortunately, with covid-19 situation going on we were not able to meet in person, but the way the course was taught from the beginning helped set me develop a good strategy for learning the material and set me in the right path to continue and finish strong.

Most organized class ever! I have taken many online classes, but everything is so intuitive in this class. The course calendar is a blessing. 2 big exams, midterm, and final. There is a lot of work, but everything is low stakes and helps learn the material. Multiple attempts on homework. Professor sends a task list for a week every Monday.

Gem of a person. Dr. Patil is very caring and listens to students' needs. I did zoom tutoring with her every week for 2 hours on Wednesday. I am not a strong science student; I got a B- a miracle. Her post-it trick worked like a miracle with me. I did study hard for the class, but she was always there to answer my questions via email, text.

You need your professor to be freakishly fast in responding to your emails and concerns? Dr. Patil's biology class is the one. She is really cool, caring and responds super quickly to resolve any problems. Dr. Patil even made videos and send them to me when I couldn't do the lab properly. This is the first time I have loved online class. 10/10

What stood out to me the most is the presentation videos in this class. When I first went to watch the first one, I was expecting an automated voice or one of those droning on videos, but I was surprised that it was the instructor! It made me happy, the videos felt personal that way and it made it easier to focus. Instructor is completely amazing!

This professor is the best when it comes to teaching biology. She reminds you of the assignments you need to complete before it is due, she provides extra credit which is added after the midterm exam and it really helps. I took her in the summer and I don't regret it at all. But also make sure to study and you will pass.

Dr. Patil is very quick to answer questions and always open to helping her students. There is a large amount of reading required for this course so be ready. All tests are proctored and points are taken off of homework when you miss a questions, aka know your stuff before you do it. Tough grader but fair. Discussions are a big part of the class.
