Probably one of my top 3 favorite teachers in college.. He treats you like your in law school, only on training wheels.. Makes sure you know the material thoroughly and understand where it came from. Great guy, funny, fair to students, would call if I got arrested too! Lots of helpful tips for students re: legal rights.

Absolutely awesome class, especially if you are wanting to go to law school. He loves what he teaches and is willing to help you with just about anything.

Takes the time to explain concepts to students. Very funny guy. If you go to class, you'll have fun. Stories are hilarious, as are cases. Course content caters to law-school bound students, but even if you're not a lawyer, you'll enjoy it. Does take attendance daily. No textbook required. Fair grader. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Great prof, makes class riveting, even at night. Reasonable work, interesting lectures, challenging tests. Be sure you GO to class and take GOOD notes. Book not imminently necessary to have. He's really busy, but helpful nonetheless, let me use his Westlaw account for work for another class!

Dr. Sharma started the first day of class by telling us that he wouldn't subject us to the displeasure of having to buy a book, and said he'd just spent $800 on two books. Show up for class, read the cases, talk about them, get an A. The class is interesting and it's all stuff you should learn.

Sharma is an amazing professor! I took him for Political Science 101. Sharma makes all of the lectures very interesting, entertaining, and you will learn a lot while your'e at it. I have learned a lot! He also wants you to do well. Don't ever hesitate to send him an email or go to office hours! You will do well if you go to class and take notes!

Sharma is awesome! He's highly intelligent, but also extremely hilarious. The whole class is lecture, but always interesting to go to. You only have two or three tests and two papers as assignments for the classes. The test are easy though if you study and you go to the study session he offers before each test. He'll literally give you the answer.

Sharma is a great teacher. I had him for 107 and changed my major. He is great in lectures and sincerely cares to see his students do well. He takes the time to address any question and is extremely intelligent. If you do not take Sharma while at UTK then you have missed a great opportunity.

Sharma is my favorite teacher so far at UT. His class is one of the only ones that I find very interesting and actually enjoy. Time flies by in his class because he is a great lecturer and keeps the topics relevant. Also a good person beyond the classroom. If I wasn't a junior already I would take many more of his classes.

Dr. Sharma took a distribution course I was dreading and made it one of my favorite courses so far. Lectures are engaging, the material is complex and intersting, and tests are relatively easy. I would definitely prefer Dr. Sharma in a later course.

Sharma is one of the most down to earth professors at this university. He made our lectures about mundane political topics awesome. He shows many videos and examples, as well as engaging the class. His stories are also great. No tests in our honors class but there were a couple papers that were enjoyable to write. Definitely recommend.

BEST PROFESSOR THUS FAR. His tests and quizzes are so easy. He provides quiz hints for weekly quizzes and review guides for every test. Attendance is not mandatory, but you should definitely go. Sharma is the man. The week of the final he let me make up 9 missed quizzes which brought me up to an A. I only studied for the final the night before and made a 99%. Really easy tests, and he'll work with you no matter what you have going on.

I've taken Sharma for 101 and 330. He's my favorite professor at UT and I will take him if I can. 330 exceeded my expectations and I learned so much about the law. If you are considering law school, you should really take this class. The only negative about Sharma is that he takes forever to get grades back to you.

He is great. Honors is best to take him because he will allow you to talk more about current events and stuff in the book. If everyone participates in class and acts like they've read, he will make the class a lot easier for everyone. The quizzes are in the online book which is why it is needed, but you should read or look over chapters before clas

He is a great teacher and as long as you study the material you will be good. The test are not that hard, but you do want to study for them. You need to go to class discussions on Friday but you don't have to go on Monday or Wednesday.

My favorite class by far. He is really funny and you learn a lot if you go to his lectures but he doesn't take attendance except for Friday discussions (will give extra credit sometimes if your there). Always does a review before his tests and the online homework is fairly easy. Would highly recommend him as a teacher if you have the chance.

Absolutely loved this class! Sharma was great at explaining everything. He also posted the Powerpoints online and attendance was not required. The tests were not hard and the homework activities don't take too long and will help bump up your grade! Would 100% recommend taking him!

This class was super easy, and I think Sharma really wants everyone to pass the class and do well. I started off going every single day and trying to take notes, but he goes through the powerpoints pretty quickly in class (they're all posted online). They don't take attendance in the lecture, but don't skip the discussions.

There's only about 10 assignments in the class with one midterm and one final. Dr. Sharma is very knowledgeable with law and I could honestly say that I have learned a lot. The class is somewhat entertaining and I stayed awake and focuse most of the time . I recommend taking his course.

Hemant is great! He's so funny and honestly will tell you test answers during lecture. Just go to the review sessions that his TA's have and your discussion sections and you'll do fine.

Dr. Sharma is a really great professor. He really tries to relate the material from that day's lecture to you. He is hilarious and shows a lot of videos. He moves through slides fast but all lectures are online. Lecture is not mandatory but definitely helps. GO TO DISCUSSION!

Dr. Sharma is the GOAT. Attendance is only taken in discussion classes on Friday. There are tons of opportunities for extra credit throughout the semester. Once attendance starts getting low, he'l give extra credit just for showing up. He's knowledgeable in the subject, and I really enjoyed his lectures. Take him if you can!!

Dr. Sharma is awesome. Simple as that, he keeps his lectures from being boring while actually teaching you something. The only tests are the exams, which are fairly easy if you pay attention in class and study for about an hour before the exam. I highly recommend this guy.

Respected, Funny Professor. Gives students copies of all the lecture slides on day one. Explains topics clearly and is easily understood, any questions asked Sharma makes an effort to understand your thinking before giving a response. This is the second course I have taken with him and would sign up for more.

One of the best professors I've had at UT. You almost would have to try to fail. If you show up half the time, do the online homework, and are able to answer very simple true/false questions, you should make an A. Sharma's hilarious and keeps everyone entertained with his sarcasm. Also great in office hours.

Sharma is the coolest professor I've had. He is extremely sarcastic and funny, and his lectures are interesting. He occasionally gives extra credit points for showing up to lecture/discussion. Tests are easy if you look over the review guide one time: GO TO THE REVIEW SESSIONS. Mindtap and e-book quizzes can be a pain but they aren't difficult.

Really enjoyed both of his classes. Not the most friendly person to approach at times but I still like him a lot and will take him again. His classes are pretty easy As. Dont take his upper level classes just to fill a requirement if youre not poli sci or planning to attend law school.

Sharma has fun and interesting lectures. They are optional if that's what you want to do but there will be a few questions on exams about things that happened in the lecture. He does require a textbook to do chapter quizzes but they are due at 9am the day of the exam so you can do them at your own pace.

Sharma is really good! Take him if you can. The class is self explanatory theres only papers, short easy quizzes and exams (although this semester were open book!) and hes good on feedback for the papers and always replies back to any questions. Requires effort but its an overall easy class to take!

Sharma is an amazing prof, but get ready to rush through some things. This class is based on a law school class so it is great if that is in your future. He really knows his stuff and he finds a way to make it interesting. Be prepared for assignments to be all due at the end of the semester- so the workload is deceptive.

Everyone should be required to take this class. It is SO informative and is an easy A. I had Prof. Sharma during COVID and he was very understanding and easy to get in touch with. We were graded on three exams, about 20-25 quizzes, and 7 short papers. He knows close to everything about POLS and does a great job teaching students. Take this class !!

Dr. Sharma is an amazing professor. I had him for POLS 101 during fall 2020 while covid-19 was going around so my experience may be different that normally, but I really liked him. We mainly just took quizzes and essays. He really knows what he's talking about and made class fun. He's a really good guy to know too and I hope I can have him again.

I wish I had him in lecture, but mine was asynchronous with Friday discussions he led in person. He is an amazing lecturer and made things very fun in class. Tests and quizzes are open book and untimed which was a life saver. He co-wrote the textbook for the course so its very easy to understand and actually applies to real life.

Sharma is amazing. Taken two of his classes and both were incredible. Workload was just enough to apply what you've learned and never feel overwhelmed. If you missed something or need to review he holds sessions before every exam. There will NEVER be something on an exam that he hasn't covered. Seriously cannot recommend enough.

Good professor and lectures

I am a senior POLS student and I have had Professor Sharma for both POLS 330 and POLS 311. He has been my favorite professor here at UT because his lectures prompt discussion and further understanding of the material. What you put into this class is what you get out. If you get the opportunity to take one of his classes don't miss out on it.

Sharma's hilarious in his lectures and made me fall in love with polisci. There are quizzes due every so often, but they are in the online text book and all the answers are in the reading or *on google*. We also had 3 writing assignments due over the course of a semester, and you could choose a prompt from a few options. Loved the class!

I loved this class and the lectures. You do not need to attend the lectures, but the discussion sections are mandatory. He makes things very easy to understand, and makes learning boring subjects very fun.

I took 330 online and the experience was great. It is a lot of writing but as long as you do the work you will recieve a solid grade. There are three writings every week one over the textbook, a powerpoint, and a video. You will be asked to read and write around three paragraphs for each assignment with a quiz following. Overall great experience.

Dr. Sharma is great. Exams are online and on your own time and open note/book. His lectures relate to the real world, he is constantly finding an article of some sort. He is great.

Professor Sharma is great and super fun to have in lecture. All the work is very interesting and there isn't much homework. Just make sure to do everything in advance because quizzes do pile up if you put them off. The writings and exams are open note and are super easy. GO TO CLASS the exams have questions about certain lectures so pay attention.

He is an amazing professor from what I saw, I was able to get an A- in the class and I only went in person to classes the first few weeks. The lectures are posted online, but you do not really need them. Just read the textbook. The exams are extremely long but open book and have no time limit.

Professor Sharma is a great teacher. You have quizzes on the textbook that are just do before exam. Exams are all online and open-book. Class is not mandatory but discussion is. He is a very well spoken guy and the class is very interesting. Very recommended

An easy class if you like political science. Lectures are fun and easy to follow. Tests are self passed for a week and reading quizzes are due by the next test.

His class is super easy and you only have to go once a week for "discussion". Definitely take him if you have the option. Don't forget to do your quizzes in his online textbook and you'll be fine.

Hands down, one of the best professors that I have ever had. Provides really excellent feedback. He also sets out clear expectations and explains it very well. He is always willing to assist in any way he can. Does zoom meetings, but they are optional. Always uploads to later be watched.

Super reasonable guy! Easy exams, they are online. The weekly quizzes were lowkey hard. Lecture attendance is not necessary, but discussion attendance is. There is one paper, but it is not that hard.

Attendance isnt mandatory, but on tests he'll ask questions about events that happened in person that day (+give extra credit) I always loved attending!

i had him for a mini term and thought he was great! the amount of work and time we were expected to spend on the class per day was pretty manageable for a mini term - i really didn't even mind because the class was so interesting! his lectures are great. none of the assignments are that difficult. would definitely take again - made mini term fun!!

They were kinda all over the place, so I didn't take notes; however, the exams and quizzes are open note, untimed, and you have multiple days to take them.Overall, this class is an extremely easy A.

Do yourself a favor and take this class. He gives out extra credit for attending class, and his only assignments are the built-in textbook quizzes and exams. Sharma is hilarious! Tons of personal examples in his lectures. If you're busy and can't make it to lectures, no big deal - his exams are super easy. One thing to note - go to discussion once a week, or your grade will hurt.

I will be honest and say that I never went to a single lecture, and I did fine. The only reason I didn't get an A is that I didn't go to every discussion section. That's literally the only thing that matters. Very easy class. Great for a Volcore credit.

Professor Sharma is hilarious and makes the lectures engaging. Exams are open-book and easy, though attendance helps. unstuckstudy is a great study resource on top of the textbook for this class.

I'm gonna be so honest, I didn't go to a single lecture beyond the first week of class and barely went to discussion and I still got an A. Exams are open book/ open note. Lectures were great when I did go though.

Sharma is so great, one of the best poly sci professors. His class is super easy all you need to do to get an A is just do the assignments all tests are open note. The lectures are so engaging and funny you can tell he cares about what he does.

I absolutely loved having Dr. Sharma. It is very clear that he cares about his classes and the information. He is funny and engaging. The exams are open note, and you have loads of time to do them. The course itself is very easy as long as you keep up with the deadlines. I want to take more of his classes because he was so awesome!

Probably my favorite professor at UT. He is extremely helpful and real. He teaches in a way that makes you want to come to class everyday.

I really liked this class but it all depends on how well you can manage your time! 2 papers and 3 quizzes are due every 3 weeks along with discussion posts but don't put them off. Dr. Sharma gives a ton of wonderful feedback on the papers and grades very generously and fairly. His lectures apply info to the real world. It's hard to fail this class!

Great professor and made the lectures super enjoyable. Great guy. Must attend discussion lectures on Friday, other days attendance doesn't matter.

Dr.Sharma is an amazing professor. His lectures are engaging and fun. Attendance isn't required in lectures, and you can do well on his exams without going. However, Friday discussion is required to get a good grade in the class. It is not hard, it consists of a T.A. Providing information and asking very simple questions. This class is an easy A.

This is my second class with Sharma, and I think he does a very good job at teaching polisci no matter what level you're at. For being an asychronous class, he also gave a lot of content to understand the units. The quizzes were relatively easy and there's a few papers, so overall an easy courseload.

I have really enjoyed Professor Sharma's classes. The lectures and classwork are not too difficult but still contain a lot of information. I feel like I learned a lot over the semester. He is not a tough grader but I still feel like he is super fair. I am already planning on taking more of his classes so I would highly recommend.

Shoutout to pols 101 because this was pretty much the easiest class ever. All exams and quizzes are online and open note. Attendance is now tracked because of a review left on here, but lecture is enjoyable. Professor Sharma is very passionate about political science and tells a lot of personal stories that are very funny. Would take this gen ed!

Dr. Sharma is the best. Only one paper for the semester and its for a final. Super funny guy and his lectures are interesting and he's super funny. 10000% everyone should take him for an easy A.

Dr. Sharma is one of the most entertaining professors I have had. I have been engaged with the lectures, and learned so much material from him. He has a lot of interesting stories which I enjoy, but they also help with the material we are learning. As someone who is not a poli sci major, I learned so much from him and really enjoyed this class

He was a great professor who made attending lectures fun. I appreciate his demonstration of Marbaury v. Madison.

Sharma is an extremely interesting and engaging teacher. I enjoyed this class, but he never used the slides in order so it was difficult to take notes.
