Great professor. Very open minded, informative, exciting, and interesting. He has a great sense of humour. His lectures are great. Everytime I am around him I'am like a sponge, the info he gives is great to absorb. And finally I have the outmost respect for him. Great class this year sit.
He's is a horrible teacher. He's fun and almost makes the class interesting. His students would have more respect for him if he told stories that actually were truthful and maybe actually teached during lectures.

Great prof. Uses lots of funny made up stories to help you remember key issues. Teaches way more then what's in the textbook. Best teacher so far!
This guy is the real deal. He talks the talk. Pay attention and expect to learn! I went into his class not knowing how to write a sold paper. That changed fast, He keeps lots of office hours and smart students use them!
Awesome prof. Not your typical prof. Likes to tell stories to explain things, but also goes off topic. He is a hot guy (and he'll let you know of it). Very entertaining though. Just don't be late for his class or he'll pick on you, but he's only joking. && He really loves diet coke
In my opinion Henri is a really cool guy and has lots of experience in the field. The bonuses of taking him are he tells plenty of stories and has may connections that will help you outside of class. The problem is that he tells too many stories and gets very side tracked. I feel like i didn't learn anything in his class and had to teach myself.
This guy is the great. If you work, you'll do well. If your lazy or a coaster avoid him - you probably won't pass. He meets with students outside of class time and teaches them even more. Never had any HS Zoe college teacher teach me about leadership like this dude did .
A few of the comments about this prof are about the stories he tells. In his 1st class he talks about why he does this. Each story is used to trigger a memory related to what he is teaching. If you note the story and relate it to the topic you remember way more and better . It works. Now I use stories to help me study!
This prof teaches differently. I read comments about stories he tells. One day after class I asked about them. He reminded me of some questions on the mid term. Every story was directly related to something we needed to remember for the exam. I asked why he didn't tell us that earlier. Apparently he did and I don't skip the first class anymore
one of my favorite profs, he truly does care about his students as long as he sees your meeting him halfway. He uses real life examples which helps me learn better rather than simply reading off slides. I can see myself striving in his class and this is why I will be taking his class again next semester. Very well respected prof! 5/5
If you want to succeed in his class, ask to see if you can improve on the assignment before handing it in
90% of the time you will resort to being self taught. Good Prof though.
I have never worked so hard and learned more about what I can do. Berube seemed to get that i lacked self confidence and challenged me to do more, do better and I excelled. I am a better student now and wish I could take his class again. He really teaches differently then other profs. You need to go to class and really learn to listen.
He embarrasses students for being late for class. Also doesn't teach any material just talks about his own personal stories and makes us do the work on our own. Some students might be uncomfortable to ask questions in class so when they ask after class he doesn't answer them cause they lost their "chance".
I find the last review funny? I had Berube as a prof but he didn't teach PFP100? He tells stories, but pay attention as they all have to do with something he is teaching and it helped me remember. He want's people to ask questions and not to be late. I liked that. Sounds like the guy below here didn't do to well in that course. He cares.
Henri is definitely a fantastic professor. He loves his PWD's as well!! He was also in a great mood and welling to help anyone who reached out to him. I would definitely recommend Henri to anyone in the PFP field at Humber!
Be prepared to teach yourself the course through the textbook. His lectures was not related to the class. The final paper was marked solely on APA formatting with the content ignored. Be sure to cite everything in your paper. Whether it's common knowledge or the word "the" FIND A CITATION. 5 missed citations brings grade down on essay about 40%
I think I was in the same class as the last poster. He forgot to mention that the prof showed us how to do it right in class. He met with us and reviewed our papers ahead of sumbmission. He held a hole bunch of workshops and offered more help then I have ever seen! If he didnt do well its cause he didnt do it right. Best prof ever.
Attend all of his classes, this is the best advice I can give you. He always takes attendance and if you always show up he will remember you and it will be beneficial when asking him for a reference, which btw will be invaluable since he is very respected in the Justice career. A bad thing which is sometimes entertaining he gets off topic a lot.
Henri is a good Professor. If you go to him and ask to see where you can improve he will go the extra mile for you and help you become successful in his class. Btw... do not be late for his class as all the stories he tells have some meaning to the lecture he is teaching. Also, he plays videos that is related to the class material. Overall Good Job
Henri is a professor that you will never forget. He will either seriously piss you off and you will hate him or he will drastically help you by boosting you into your career. Unlike many professors he can be used as an asset. Either by a simple reference recommendations or by teaching you valuable life lessons. High impact teaching.
Ok here is the thing. IF you want a straight cut class with no extra challenges then he is not the right prof for you. He will embarrass you if you are late. constantly makes all the students feel like he is "THE BEST". which I don't like. he has attitude problem too. he thinks he is the most intelligent guy in his department.
Hes a Great Professor. Hes the one and only professor. i would take his class again in a heart beat. He'll help get the grade you want but, you really have to work on it and if you do and you prove it to him, he's more than happy to do it.

This professor loves to tell stories about him old being cop. His lectures are like church, sometimes bringing you up and sometimes bringing you down. he will push you to your ends and you come out with battle scares. If you are having him ever/participate/ask questions and take the help. He is a real prof that if you try will reward you

If you like being yelled at for no reason, hearing about dogs, and learning absolutely nothing., Enroll in Henri's lectures as you can watch a bald dude drink diet coke and talk about dogs for 2 hours
Henri is the best professor I've ever had. I currently have him for two classes, and my highest makes are in those two classes. He's strict, but he cares, a lot. And more than that, he know what he's teaching. He's got a story for everything and really tries to make his lessons hit home. Really a fantastic professor if you're willing to be an adult
He is a good teacher dont get me wrong. He cares for his students. But I feel like he talks way too much and doesnt cover the content that he needs to teach. I've been there for 4 weeks now and honestly I dont feel like I've learned anything. I don't think I would take him again
often contradicts himself stresses students out more than he needs to. his main goal is to help students succeed yet he acts more as a tough guy than a teacher. he often comes off as intimidating and needs to show some sense of empathy especially if he expects students to come see him for extra help.

My advice to students enrolling in any of his courses is as cut and try as the Master Jedi Berube himself. Show up to class, dont do the bare minimum unless your fine with securing a career at the car wash (Henri Berube , 2019), DO all assigned work and tasks and excel on them, and dont ever take anything he says personal or see it as negative.
A lot of people don't like Berube, but he may have been the best teacher I've ever had. I had to sign up for the class late, but he was incredibly understanding and made a real effort to set me up for success. He comes of as really tough and strict, but if you're willing to put the work in, he will do anything he can to make sure you do well.

Horrible professor, he has no idea regarding what he's doing. I think it's his first time teaching this class. He states to put certain material on a quiz/test, however, the material on the test has nothing to do with what is assigned. Hes a piece of crap, I have no idea how he even became a professor. I do not recommend taking his class whatsoever
Terrible prof for Criminal Code. He's a complete bumhole for the way he marks. I thought he would have been much better regarding the way he introduced himself on the first day. Do not take his class, you will regret it.
What you learn has nothing to do with the tests whatsoever.
Everyone is planning on dropping his class. He does not help out whatsoever. The difficulty of this class was set at 5 as he does not teach us or give us any readings regarding what is on the evaluations.
No point in attending a class that has nothing to do with the exams.

He talks about non sense every lecture. Does not really teach and will occasionally go over the power points. When students ask questions, he barely answers and sometimes ignores them. He also makes many mistakes when it comes to quizzes and assignments .
He seems decent and nice but his teaching style is mediocre at best. In his course I learned more from the textbook than him lecturing. His teaching style does not fit the way I would like to learn.
Some may say he's hard or isn't very friendly, but if you take the time to get to know him through his lectures, reach out for help in a professional manner, and show up to class; you won't have a problem. If you have respect for authority,(which you should... you're in PFP) and you care about your education, you'll do just fine.
He spends 30 mins on 1 slide and then for the rest of the 2 hours talks absolute nonsense. Tests are due before the lecture that is supposed to teach you the material that was on the test so you're paying the school to teach yourself. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
Tells numerous amount of stories, speaks for 2 hours and very rare you get knowledge out of it. When you ask for assistance he will make you feel horrible about your questions. Professor Berube is a well respected lecturer in North America for his vocational aptitude in police work for over 40 years. Teaching at Humber for 16 + years, Berube is a well sourced, knowledgable, adapting professor who is down to earth about the realities of policing and integrates his personal experiences into lectures.
Solid prof
Henri makes his class a lot harder than it needs to be for no reason. He spends WAY too long on slides. He does have interesting stories but I rather just get the lecture over with. r A lot of his quizzes don't make any sense at all from a grammatical point of view. ( p1)
His final assignments are solely based on APA and it's his "version" of APA so it doesn't really make sense on an academic scale while grading if it's not official. Henri will email EVERYONE in the course demanding that they figure out their own grades alone instead of him telling his students where they're at(Which is his job to do) P2 DONT ENROLL
Very good professor, Lenient but also makes you work for your grade. He is not hard at all, just make sure you stay in lectures.
Nothing but quizzes that are medium-hard difficulty and you barely get any time to answer the questions. I am afraid to ask him basic questions, seems to get annoyed quickly. My average grade is mid to high 80's but I barely passed this class.
Does not teach the course, talks about stories that are completely unrelated. Whoever asks any question he will set you as an example and embarrass you. You learn the course through the textbook and nothing about what he says. He should go back to being a cop.

This prof is one of the worst teachers I've had in a long time. From the poor feedback to lack of care when it comes to his students, I never felt like I learnt anything taking his course. Henri should probably just stop teaching because he hasn't taught our class anything and we all came out with poor grades due to the lack of his teaching skills.
This guy reads 2 slides and then spends the rest of the time talking about irrelevant stories. Then he gives you tests on stuff you didn't learn because he was busy talking about how much money he makes. You're essentially paying this guy the read the textbook.
I absolutely love Proff Henri. He seems super harsh at first but he is such an awesome teacher! He was always willing to help and listen when we needed. 10/10 hope to get him again next semester!

He is one of the best Humber professors I ever met in my entire life. He is so inspirational and amazing. He is also handsome and if you course message him from blackboard at the beginning of the semester you are in his good side then. It's always important to course message him, he will notice you're into the course. I hope I have him again!

This is a fantastic professor. Despite the other ratings, his lectures are what I look forward to every week. His stories and his past experiences as an officer are exciting since you want to learn about what law enforcement requires. A helpful person for questions, but know it must be direct, clear and on the point. Attendance is required.
Great Prof. His tests aren't always easy, but he does give away the answers in class. You just gotta pay attention.

Amazing professor! Henri Berube uses an excellent teaching method that no other professor is able to utilize effectively. Throughout his lectures, he supports theoretical information with his personal stories and experiences. This makes it easier to remember the lecture and also adds to the topic little details that would otherwise be left out.
Amazing professor. Come to his classes and listen to the lectures, some of that material will make it to the tests and exams. If you participate and follow his instructions, you will be successful.

Amazing professor, if you show you care and show up to class he will ensure your success. He reads over final paper drafts and makes edits accordingly. Exam was all situations he talked about in class in relation to the course material, if you don't pay attention or come you'll fail. Textbook is needed but not as important as listening in lecture.

students who have rated professor Berube low and complain are most definitely the students who did not show up and put in the work. Berube teaches us as future officers the challenges we may face in our future career. if you show up and do the work you will succeed. and if you need guidance Berube will provide it. i hope to have his class again.
A selfish prof who doesn't care for his students. Whenever someone had a fitness class before his class, he got angry and recommended we switch his class. Because if you're late (as a semester 4 student) he will either kick you out or lock the door before class starts. He tells you to use grammar when he doesn't use grammar at all.
He is very overtly narcissistic. He uses the class time to tell fictional stories about back when he was a police officer, and also throws in information about his dogs. The lectures are never about information you actually require for the curriculum and tests.
He goes on, and on, AND ON about stories, He always talks about off-topic points unrelated to the class. He tells us to use grammar when he doesn't even use it himself and, he always told us stories this year about how a former student named "Sriram" always came to his office and told us we should be like him because it is "good to ask".
He teaches weirdly, always taking about how students should reach out, and constantly been mentioning how one student always came to his office hours daily and passed with a high 70%. I don't understand why his ego is so messed up.

Definitely one of the worst professors I've had. Lectures are useless, quizzes and tests are hard to understand, takes awhile to respond to students' emails, group projects are ridiculous. Try to avoid having Henri as prof if you can.

He's not a good teacher to be honest, he used racist behaviour because of my ethnicity and I didn't pass his course because he had beef with me this is just awful.
Henri is very hated but I think that's because he cares. Policing isn't light so why should he be? He acts very tough in class, but if you meet with him during his office hours hes incredibly kind and actually tries to help you pass. He does talk tons though but that isn't too much for a guy who always zones out like me.
You might feel that he is a tough grader, i realize it is because he has high standards for his students. Don't be afraid to ask him for help one on one, he is very kind in person and he wants you to succeed. His feedback is always honest and very helpful. I've learned so much from his class, I'm very grateful that I got to learn from him

Honestly not terrible when he actually teaches , that is if he's not ranting about late students/submissions for 30 minutes in class , this guy told us in class word for word “we don't want crime to stop we just want to control it” he also put various students on the spot and humiliated them for being late for reasons irrelevant to him !
