When taking his tests, you dont know what to expect. You can go into his exams thinking you will get an A, but watch your A dissapear if you dont know one of his 40/30 pt.?s, plus he truly doesnt give you partial credit. Jeanty, is very unclear, and tries to use his rainforest tactics to get your attention. Avoid him if you can

Has a too long and hard exams. The most students never stopped complaining about that, but the college of computer sience in tampa seems to enjoy giving hard time to its students. most likely to retake their money again. By the way, because of this unique talant, he've been chosen to teach gate classes.

Hate this teacher! If you don't know the material like that your gone just like that! I will never take a class ever again with him. Worst teacher!

No teaching involved.

Probably one of the worse programming professor I had. You will learn nothing from his lecture, basically reads off the powerpoint slides. Loves to go off topic about his life and how he's better than everyone, he enjoys talking people down. Does not prepare you for exams and assigns projects towards the end of the semester.

Warning! I would avoid taking a course with this guy unless it is required by your major. He enjoys talking about himself rather than the subject of the course. For instance, what I have learned this semester has been the following: his wife is pregnant, he had a tumor on his kidney, and he doesn't believe in cell phones. Useless? I vote yes!

Don't ask. STAY AWAY! It's a nightmare... I wish I read these reviews before I took this class! Take him at you own risk!

"I will not teach you how to program in C++." - Jeanty With 3 useless projects and a very heavy reliance on the book, good luck teaching yourself the C++ language. Dr. Jeanty goes off topic very often and will not cover entire chapters. He will skip over key information and expect you to know it come test day. Read the book and stay ahead.

His programming exams don't involve writing programs, everything is multiple choice. Although a lot of questions are trick questions, read the book and answer the questions in the back of each chapter and you should do fine. You will not learn much in this class other than how to cram enough information from a book to pass.

If you want to learn anything, don't bother taking this class. If you want an easy A (and a waste of your money, because you're not paying to get an A, you're paying to learn) then he's the professor for you. He's never prepared, doesn't care about students and has nonsense exams/projects/homeworks. He is very confrontational with students.

He is not a hard class but a bad professor but he does play favorites. He assigned projects, and while all groups were under the impression of certain requirements, one team did not follow the requirements and he allowed it, and awarded them the highest grade. Dont Take!

DONT TAKE. he'll call you out like high school teachers if you're late or leave to go to the bathroom. SUCH A BORING CLASS. also he doesn't tell you exam dates unless you ask MULTIPLE times when the test is because apparently "we should be keeping up with the reading, therefore we shouldn't need notice of the exam".......

He did not help me with my situation when I went to ask for his opinion or what I could do to be successful in the class and basically told me to just drop the class because he would not work with me.

Terrible Professor! Grading is inconsistent, spends copious amounts of time in class going off topic, never responds to his students emails, condescends to his students in class, carries himself very unprofessionally, and generally treats his students unfairly overall. Specifications on projects were very ambiguous. Hostile to his students.

Although the class isn't particularly hard, the professor is a joke. He does not show up to office hours, so if you ever want to discuss something with him, good luck tracking him down. He does not respond to emails either. Very arrogant. Attendance policy is absurd, if you miss more than two classes you automatically fail.

Does not respond to emails, does not have a specific grading policy so if he finds one thing wrong with it expect a 0, gives opportunities to some students to help with their grade but does not care about other students, if you ask him a question he will give a circular answer, condescending and rude in class

C++ is what I paid for, 7 Weeks in to the semester and he hasn't taught anything. He rambles about material that is completely irrelevant to the course, gives no assignments, and the exam dates and materials are unknown until week of. Waste of time. Avoid at all costs. Unfortunately he is the only professor for this course some semesters.

Horrible professor. If I could give a zero on clarity I would. Tells you you don't need to study something for an exam, yet the exam is 50% about that very topic.

absolutely the worst professor i have ever had. we only had one project done twice in different ways, absolutely useless. there is no point in going to class bc all he does is talk about everything besides c++. if you can avoid him, do so. i wish i would have waited a semester to take this class with someone else. He doesn't teach anything first couple of weeks. Then often, he is talking about job interviews, but not the subject itself, and reads you a book. He pulled final earlier one week than it's scheduled. Projects were strange and notlike for real programming. He is rude, not helpful. Grading is whack and not represented by syllabus. Exams are strange.

I took him for COP 2931, and this teacher is here to fail you. I tried sending him emails when I had questions, and he did not respond to even one of them. He postponed the test at his own will, and than only gave us 3 days notice regarding the date test will be held. So if you want to help, and hard grading take him. Try to avoid him at all cost.

Very uncooperative AND unresponsive with the class. Doesn't answer questions until it's already too late. Disappears for half a semester and postpones exams only to reschedule another with a 3 day notice. Everything is essentially self study. Very disappointed.

Horrible professor. Never responds to emails, doesn't lecture anything, doesn't explain projects, and his final is on some random thing. Class average was a D! This is the first class I haven't passed in my life!

He understands and teaches the topic well, but the material on the exams versus the lectures are completely different. If you don't read the book you will fail. Tests are on book not lecture. 3 papers. Graded on attendance the 3 papers and midterm and final. grades aren't put in until the last minute. He has no clue how to work canvas.

The WORST professor at USF. Wont reply to emails. Does not care. Criteria for projects you are expected to read his mind to understand. HIs communication skills are his major issue. I took his class this semester. We are half way through this course and he has only graded one assignment. His rubrics are extremely unclear. He will not answer his emails. There are 0 group projects whatsoever. If you ask for an extension due to extreme unforeseen circumstances, he will not care, even if the dean agrees with you on the situation.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that he's the worst professor I've ever had in my life. He basically just reads the book to you and goes on tangents while doing so. A lot of his tests asks you to memorize how a circuit works rather than focusing on the design aspect. Never take him even if he's the only one teaching that course for the semester.

He is undoubtedly the worst professor I've ever had. He has no respect for students. He has no consideration for students that they might have a job. Jeanty is passionate about teaching and i respect that but he takes pleasure in watching students suffer, his tests are super tough application that comes from the small details in lecture which he hovers over so student don't get an idea of he test and pass. This professor encourages questions but when asked he bullies the student.

The class was asynchronous, which is a good thing his lectures involved him sitting at his computer slowly reading the book. HW, lab, and quizzes weekly. Quizzes had lots of errors, he refused to give credit for his mistakes. Did everything to a tee, aced midterm, quizzes, & HW but was given a C on final with no explanation why. Emails were ignored

The absolute worst. Missed an entire test because he never posted when it was supposed to be and it didn't show up on Canvas until 10 min before it started and claimed we should've known from the online lectures which aren't mandatory and don't help since he's awful at teaching anyways. Extremely rude when students tried to say it was unfair.

Class was asynchronous. Missed an exam bc there was no announcement, it was not on the syllabus and posted it on canvas 10 minutes before it started. He mentioned it once in a lecture and told a student he did it on purpose. Meaning he sets up students for failure. Very rude to students when asking questions and does not respond emails.

He will spend an entire lecture explaining one figure in the book. There are two classes left in the semester and we haven't covered an entire chapter and a half. He gives 0 partial credit on exams and there were topics in the exam that he never covered in class. He deflects any criticism back to the student. Worst professor I've ever had.

Honestly just a terrible teacher. Gets mad at students for not showing up to online class times, even though they're not required (to the point where he only announced a test in 1 of those sessions, then published the test 10 min before it started). Very inconsistent with grading, assignments, and lessons. Don't understand how he's still employed.

Jeanty will actively try to make you fail the class and show no mercy to his students.

Prepare to be tested for "understanding" aka content that was never covered. Terrible internet because he lives in a farm, yet he complaints about people giving late answers on live sessions. You will be surprised as to how fast this man can change policies in the syllabus and still get away with it. Try your best to survive this class gl.

I have never had a professor who seemed to care so little about teaching and their students as Professor Jeanty. I'll use a quote from him to sum it all up, "Some people are complaining that chapter 5 will be on my final and we haven't covered it. It's not my job to cover it, you have the book. That's not my issue, you better know the material."

The worst professor I've taken. Don't ever take his class even though he's the only teacher who teaches that class. He's happy and enjoys watching the students fail and suffer. He's so rude and disrespectful. Don't ask him any questions because he will look at you as a stupid one and never say something rude to you instead of giving the answer.

simply an awful professor. he gives you projects without teaching you anything and expects you to create software in two weeks during midterm weeks.

Horrific teaching. Is completely convinced in an employee-employer relationship with his students, his lectures have absolutely nothing to do with the material. Obsessed with stocks. Ive learned more about stocks than object oriented programming in this class. I had to slave for 45+ hours outside of class weekly to get the first proj done.

While there, I had no knowledge about the type of coding (c#), and his projects also had a very brief description on what we had to do. More than half of the class was lost throughout the course, and despite encouraging us to ask questions, it was only ever a means for him to be insulting about our career paths and intelligence.

I want to make it crystal clear that Jeanty does not exist to help you. I strongly, strongly urge that if you are not already familiar with all concepts in the class, that you do not take it. Under ZERO circumstances would I recommend this professor to another human being. Spare yourself the wasted time and money.

Does not teach and very unclear assignment instructions

He did not follow the syllabus. It's a living document, sure, but you can't completely disregard it.

Very unprofessional, grades outside of rubric, does not teach object oriented programming. If I didnt have 4 years of programming experience going into his class, I would not of passed. Assignment descriptions are vague and are full of "we talked about this in class".

3 assignments for the entire semester. There was more information on how to submit something from visual studio then how to code OOP with c# and project instructions combined. Never taking again if i get the chance.

Classes with Dr. Jeanty seldomly contained a cohesive plan and usually consisted of unhelpful tangents. Dr. Jeanty on multiple occasions during class divulged personal conversations that he had with students during his office hours. We did not receive a grade on our first assignment until a month before class ended. Rubrics were always disheveled.

This professor decided two weeks before the class is over that the entire class would be graded exclusively by our final project.

Constantly changes rubric of assignments. The grading distribution was COMPLETELY disregarded as it was 4 projects evenly split into grades but by the end of the class we had 3 projects and the 3rd project was worth 100% of the grade no matter the grade on the others. His TA grades the projects sternly, takes off a lot of points for minor mistakes.

This guy might be the single worst professor I have ever had the misfortune of being taught by. Doesn't have a textbook, provides little help in terms of finding videos or links to help learn the information he doesn't talk about and doesn't have his TA's grade based on the same rubric that we're given for the assignments. Horrible experience.

Avoid him at all cost. He is very stingy when it comes to grading even if you follow all the vague instructions he provided and he would still open up your project and shame you in front of the whole class. Extremely disrespectful and unorganized professor. I was warned before taking this class and now I find out.

He is vague with is descriptions and will mark off points with out letting you know as well as talk down on you and change syllabus mid lecture. DONT TAKE HIM

Disorganized, unclear grading criteria, terrible communication with TAs, tells us to learn the material through ChatGPT, no clear learning objectives, our entire grade is reliant on 3 projects, russian roulette every time an email is sent, encourages the class to ask questions but berates you if you don't understand. What hasn't this guy done?

Horrible. I had a 1 star professor for another class and he was more reasonable than this guy. DOES NOT FOLLOW SYLLABUS. Instead of teaching us or having a structured format, he just made us learn on our own using google + ChatGPT. Not to mention his unclear requirements. This has been the worst class i have ever taken... and hes the only teacher.

This professor was a living nightmare. The instructions were completely unclear, and when questioned he would send emails saying you should have attended class I was clear in my intent; I attended every lecture it was not clear. The tas graded very inconsistently, some giving 100s some giving 0s. Also, they would frequently grade off the rubric.

His class was a disaster. Left important info out of lectures and only taught it at office hours. Told us to use Chat-GPT instead of teaching. Repetitive and useless lectures. Encouraged asking questions but insulted students' intelligence for doing so. Randomly decided to make the final project our entire grade, rendering all our work worthless.

Before taking this professor. Ask yourself this "Will i be able to take a slap across my face in front of the class?". If Yes then go ahead, since this guy loves publicly shaming students for asking questions

Worst teacher I've ever had. Didn't teach, said to learn everything from the internet for a new IDE - Visual Studio C#. Syllabus had 4 projects as the total grade (20%, 25%, 25%, 30%), but ended as (20%, 25%, 55%). For a few weeks only the final project counted. I'd guess +50% failed or switched majors. Avoid, even to be behind in major progression

By far the WORST professor I have ever encountered in my academic career. First assignment was graded after drop deadline and issued a 0 as the program was not working on his computer, while it was working seamlessly on mine. Openly humiliates students in class, and encourages to use ChatGPT to learn course material, as he is incapable of teaching.

If you can avoid taking him, do it at all costs!! He is by far the worst professor I have ever had. He does not give a clear rubric for projects but strictly grades if you don't follow his exact expectations. And he always encourages students to ask questions, but then belittles you if it's about something he "already explained."

This class might be the most useless class at USF. Event-driven programming? that's a term from 1960 bruh. The professor writes all the code in class and you are supposed to follow and copy. THAT"S IT. If you are looking for an easy class, you won the jackpot. That's why they call him easy peasy Jeanty easy. I honestly lose chromosomes in class

Although he gave us the code, he graded very strictly. He wanted you to write the code exactly as he wanted. His office hours was awful too. He was so mean and acted like he was very busy. Avoid him if you can

It's apparent that Jeanty had daddy issues or maybe mommy issues. He takes attendance every class at random times to try to catch late commers or people who leave early. He announces some project requirements in class but not on canvas to fail people. I could swear maybe 5% of the class focuses with him in class. The others doom scroll social mdia

Honestly, I wish I never signed up for this class. His personality is really terrible. No wonder why he is unsuccessful and got fired from IBM. Who limits the amount of times a student can submit a project before the deadline. ALSO ALSO, HE EDITED the project requirements after a lot of students submitted.

Please avoid him! Like one of the review alr said, u can take him if you're ready to get slapped in your face in front of class. He's known for being rude, i was warned but didnt take it serious. He'll tell u to use chatgpt from hw to questions u have in class. Dont ask him if u have questions, he'll make fun of it and tell u to use chatgpt anyway

DONT TAKE HIM (if you want to actually learn). Most reviews on here got an A so I took him, but wish I didn't. He is very rude, thinks he knows it all, and makes you feel like u don't want to raise your hand. The entire class is this: Use ChatGpt to build the whole C# project for you. That's it. Grading is strict, but you won't learn anything.

This professor will make your whole day miserable. He would call out people in class and shame them. He is so bad it is not worth the good grade and you also don't learn either C# or .NET cuz he will tell you to chatgpt it or study yourself.

DO NOT I REPEAT, DO NOT take Prof. Jeanty. He is genuinely the worst professor, does pop quiz and the next class he gives you another one that will replace the grade of the first. He is super rude to students and if he sees his project is easy, he adds stuff to make it harder. He is the worst prof I've had so far and I've had some pretty bad ones.

His teaching was very good but his way was atrocious and made learning nearly impossible I repeat once again for students who thinks there is no exams in the course so, it must be an easy course please dont fall into the worst trap. please save yourselves from worst semister of you journey. if you still take this class after reading this Go BULLS

One of the worst professors I've ever had. You will learn nothing in this class other than which AI model is best at understanding the vague project specifications he gives you. He presents himself as someone who is getting you ready for the real world but uses this just to be disrespectful to students. Avoid him if you can.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. His class might seem easy with just 3 projects that build on top of each other but he makes them unnecessarily difficult. He calls out students if he sees them not paying attention and isn't accommodating regarding any absences and has a strict policy of just 5 absences throughout the whole semester. Don't take him!!!

Honestly, this man needs to retire...

His classes do not help with the project you have to work on, but he forces attendance. This is a course that if you do not attend, you will never get a good grade. You can score 100% on all 3 parts of the project and fail this course just because you missed some classes.

Nope just dont take him. you will thank me later.
