Henrique is a solid prof for GMS. You don't need to show up to pass, the course for the most part is common sense but if you're trying t get high marks, showing up will help. Only thing I can really say is: choose a good group for the projects. They're easy but having a good group makes life even easier. I had a great group and get we got a 98%.
This prof is a great guy. You can see he enjoys what he teaches, however, if you email him he will tell you to look at the outline instead of answering the question you asked. Overall good prof, just pick a good group for projects.
Dr. Correa da Cunha was honestly a solid choice for this course. The course itself isn't the most fun but he does try to pull in real-life examples and his personal experiences which is great. He also is very kind and will clarify anything needed. The examples he uses on his slides are going to be on your exams so make sure to look over those.
Good prof, not hard or easy. Caring and chill during online classes. Overall if you can get him for GMS200 go for it, he's good.
Very nice and solid prof. He is always ready to answer questions and teaches well too.
A really amazing professor. His slides have all the information you'd need for the course, and the midterm and final exams were both really easy. Super chill and caring professor. If you're taking this course, you need to get Henrique.
Easy tests, easy exam, informative lecture. The lecture was almost exactly content from the textbook. Big group projects through GLOBUS and if your group is not good, reach out to him. He was very understanding and was able to give me a better mark based on my personal contributions.
The GOAT
Where do I begin??? He is the best prof I had in my life, he is really nice and will do anything in his power to help you pass this course! He is really understanding and if you know his lectures you will pass with a guaranteed A. There is honestly nothing bad you can say about this great man. He is truly the GOAT!!
Amazing prof. You got the jackpot if you have him for a course. Caring individual who is there for students to help even outside of the courses he teaches. Tests are straightforward and the assignments are fair. No complaints at all, a very jolly person and would love to have him as my prof again in the future.
Professor was very nice and gave great feedback on assignments. Easy marker and group project was really fun.
His powerpoint slides are heavy but the information isn't difficult to understand at all. Gives you a week to complete class quizzes and there are two tests and a group project. Very caring and kind professor that I would recommend him.
Great prof, one of the best I've ever had. Would definitely take him again if given the opportunity!!
Amazing professor. Very understanding and does not put any difficult or tricky questions on the midterm and exam. Textbook is not necessarily required. If you show up to lectures and take notes from the slides, you will get an A.
Dr. Cunha is a real gem of a prof! His lectures are a bit boring as he just reads off the slides but the midterm and final were super easy and he was super sweet throughout the whole year.
Henrique is such an amazing prof! He is so kind and caring to all his students and will help you if you are in need. His quizzes and exam are based on his lectures and exam and his lectures have everything you need to pass! I suggest anyone reading this to get henrique! He is very passionate and makes this course interesting.
He's a great, kind and caring professor. You can learn a lot from him, teaches you by using his own life experiences. I would highly recommend taking class with him online or in person. the tests and exams are very straightforward and easy. You just need to read presentation slides and/or textbook but you can pretty much guess answer. Easy marker.
Best professor all time. He is so cool n chill. Test are easy, TAKE THIS CLASS
Professor Cunha is a very nice prof who genuinely cares about his students. He was my favourite prof this semester and if you get him you are in good hands. There is a final group project that is worth a lot of your grade but if you get a good group it is very fun to work on.
I read the textbook but honestly just review the slideshow and youll be fine. Exam is straight up from the slideshow word for word. I never went to class either. Theres only two assignments and there really easy plus a big group project (hope for a good group). Its an easy A.
Hes an amazing prof 100/10. One of the kindest profs Ive ever had. His exams are easy (just read slides and textbook) and marks super fairly. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN
Henrique is a great teacher. The course is super simple and you can succeed easily with just reading the weekly chapters. The exam is a lot of questions for a short period of time but it is surprisingly more than enough to finish.
Best GMS200 prof you will get, take him if you can and you wouldn't regret it. He is super nice and very responsive to emails. Midterms (30%) and Finals (40%) are based on his lectures and slides, super easy if you study. A big semester-long group project called GLO-BUS that is worth 20%, so get a good group or you will be working on your own.
Henrique is truly such an amazing prof and he is so incredibly kind and understanding! He told us in advanced that there would be no tricky questions on the midterm or final exam which I really appreciated! Love this prof so much!
Good prof! He really cares about his student and wonder to help if you cant find a group for the group project. His quizzes and test are also easy, just need to go through all of his lectures slides and you should be fine.
Very nice and best prof for first year students. He is willing to help if you have any problem.
Dr. Cunha is amazing. His lectures are very engaging because he related content to his real life experiences. The slideshows cover everything from the textbook and the exams are very easy, mostly definition questions straight from the slideshows. There is a big group project on GLO-BUS, but it's not hard to complete. He's also very caring and nice!
Easyyyy. The course is easy and the prof makes it easier. The exam questions all relate to the textbook. Make good notes and study the textbook. Also, participate in Glo-bus, even if your group ranks low if you did your best you will get good grades!
Very kind professor that cares about the students and wants us to succeed. Highly recommend.
Really great professor! Cares about his students and is very caring.
Can get through the course with just the lecture slides, but textbook gives more details if needed. Lectures themselves are kind of boring but Henrique is kind and willing to answer questions so they're decent. GLO-BUS simulation can be challenging but is lots of fun, only worth 20% but very immersive and easy to understand after a while.
Best prof I've had so far
he is a chill guy
He's super nice and understanding, accessible outside of class and answers questions. Also cares for students. Exams and course work (excluding globus) are easy if you do the readings. Overall, better than most of the profs I've had in my first semester of uni.
He was one of the most caring professors ever. as a first year, things were overwhelming, but he made things easy for all of his students. He always tries to talks with everyone and makes them feel welcomed. If you read the textbook, you will pass the class with flying colours as the midterms and exams are based on key terminology. 100% recommended
Great professor. Super caring and truly wants his students to succeed. Great professor for first year students getting accustomed to university.
A good prof who genuinely cares about the students. The midterm and exam was online, open book. Lectures are boring and have almost 100 slides each presentation.
Great prof, lectures are good but attendance isn't compulsory, 10/10
Overall great prof who cares about his students. The midterm and final was online and open book which was nice.
Very caring and accessible to students :) Easy A+ too
Amazing professor. I 100% recommend him and would take him again any day.
Really nice/good prof! The class is lecture-heavy, but it's easy. The midterm and final were easy (online, open book), and the assignments were too. Just make sure to read what the assignments are asking for and do exactly that (ex. if it says use terms from chapter x, MAKE SURE to use those terms for easy 100's)
Super easy! Just read the textbook and take notes on definitions! Tests were super easy too. GLO-BUS was okay, try researching about it beforehand. Assignments weren't terrible either. Super nice professor fr.
He's a good guy. His lectures were boring so I skipped a lot but the class was easy to understand and he didn't make anything difficult. Would definitely take again.
Engaging lectures and easy exams. The prof is so nice and caring.
One of the best profs for this course. Tries to make 3 hour lectures engaging but attendance isn't necessary as he posts the slides. Very caring and wants to help each student. Fun group project which can be a pain if you don't end up with the right group members but still light work!
Lectures are kinda boring as he reads off the slides, but he's very nice and accommodating toward students. The course itself is very easy as the midterm and exam are pretty much copy and paste from the textbook and his slides. The hardest part would be the group project, so pick your group wisely. Great Prof!
One of the best profs ive had! really cares about the students and kind guy. I recommend him for this class 100%
This prof cared about his students and his lectures were fun. He was an easy marker.
He is very nice and understanding. He let us choose our team members for globus. His midterm and exam were very easyyy. I would definitely take him again.
he's good but very boring
The best professor I've had so far. Extremely nice and cares about his students. Lectures are very interesting and have relevant information you will actually use in life. Would definitely take his class again.
He is truly one of the nicest professors I have ever had. Truly cares for his students and wants to see them succeed. His course content is also extremely easy but really interesting so it makes you want to pay attention. Would definitely take again.
Best GMS prof. Midterms and final was all online. Assignments were marked by TA so easy to score good grades. He does read off the lecture slides and provide some personal examples, attending class is not mandatory as he does post the slides after class.
Henrique is a truly down-to-earth professor. Lectures are very straightforward and engaging, and he is happy to answer questions, making them even easier to understand. The course does not have a heavy workload. The midterm and final are online. The class requires a textbook, but the PDF is available online.
Very passionate about the course but sometimes he gets off topic and takes 30 minutes to cover one slide. Don't need to attend lectures he posts the slides after and its a pretty light course. The TA's mark the 2 assignments and they give good feedback.
Awesome prof!!! Genuinely cares about his students. Midterm and Final very easy (both online and open-book), and he posts all the slides of content each week. Notes on the slides are taken from the textbook, so if you understand and remember the slides that is all you need to get a great mark in the course!
One of the best profs at TMU! The midterm and finals were easy, open-book, and based on the things actually covered in lectures. He genuinely cares about his students and is easily accessible outside class. He quickly responds to emails and will help resolve any issues you may have. Would love to have him again in the future!
great prof
Truly a likable guy and a really good teacher, sadly same can't be said for the TA's
The toughest part of the course was dealing with the GLO-BUS simulation. Writing the report for it was pretty easy as well you just had to explain what happened during the simulation. The Midterm and Final were done online and open book. Overall it was a pretty light course.
I had him during Fall 2023 and he was such an easy prof along with the course itself. The content of the course however is very boring, so during his 9 AM lectures it was very easy to just fall asleep. He tries to connect his real-life experience to his lectures which is always pretty cool. Midterm and final were easy as both online MC.
Amazing prof, his lectures do get really long but still he's really nice and a easy marker. The GLO-BUS simulation and report was a little difficult, so find good group members but other than that he's really sweet.
Everything, even glo bus is part of the exam. He's a cheery prof but i find it difficult to understand him through the accent. Good prof, good stories.
He's a sweet guy and he tries to make the lectures engaging by connecting his stories, however I feel it's too long so its easy to snooze. The mid-term was online but do not slack for the final in-person. Few assignments but the main aspect is the group project, find active group members to maximize your mark.
This professor was amazing! I was made aware of him by upper year students and I did all I could to get into his class. And I don't regret it! He is truly a caring prof, that wants to see his students succeed. He is also very knowledgable and very approachable. If you take GMS200 make sure its with Henrique!
Lectures are long, and he made the final in person this year. He's often disrespectful of students' time and lacks clear communication, especially for exam reviews. Stay confident, advocate for yourself, and remember your time is valuable too.
TLDR: Go with another prof. Although the course wasn't that bad the final had random glo-bus questions that were used to pull the average down on purpose. He's a nice guy, but the lectures had too much eye-contact and a 3hr lecture for 1hr worth of content. Also expect 3 - 6 business days for an email response (absolutely ridiculous).
10/10 prof. He's such a sweet guy, he teaches well. You don't need to show up to class though. His assignments are in pairs or individually and he grades fairly. His midterm was online at home however his final exam was in person on paper.
He's a nice guy, however the material is very dry and classes do tend to drag on for much longer than they should. There is also a lot of pointless information on his slides. The class however is easy, the midterm is online and just make sure you pick a good group for the group project.
super chill and easy to get a good grade on
Didn't like this prof - there's a bad vibe about him. He also doesn't respect student's time or voice. It was a NIGHTMARE trying to coordinate anything with him. Definitely not majoring in GMS after this class.
Really nice guy tbh, just make sure you get a good group for globus and study hard for the final
Such a lovely prof, he's so nice. Does talk a whole lot and lectures are boring, but he's genuinely passionate abt what he's teaching, so he's cool. The group project was annoying and long if you choose bad partners, and he lets you choose. Midterm was online, long, and difficult cuz of the short amt of time, same with exam. Will miss Henri :(
A real caring Professor. Expect your major project in this class to revolve around the Glo-Bus Simulation; it isn't difficult, but it could be competitive for perfect marks on the leaderboard portion. Find good team members, and look up a guide for it (I took first place in my bracket).
Great prof, lectures were long and covered everything in the textbook. The GLO-BUS simulation and report are pretty easy if you find a group who communicates well. There are only 2 assignments, which can be done individually or in pairs. Midterm was online, final was in person, and both exams were based on the lecture slides he posts.
The lectures sucked!! He had 100 slides for what could've been said in 10. You also have to do a glo-bus project w/ no instructions. He doesn't help, so you gotta do your own research for everything. In an attempt to trick student and purposely lower the final averages (he said so himself), he added random glo-bus questions on the final exam.
take him for an easy A!! i rarely attended his lectures and still did well in his class because it is straightforward. the big group project is a huge portion of ur mark so make sure to do well on that. he is passionate about what he teaches. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
There's something really off about this guy - would not recommend. The midterm was online and the final was in-person...
A super nice and enjoyable prof! The course is also pretty straightforward
He's pretty condescending if you ask questions after class and you're going to be thrown into Glo-bus with ZERO context so be prepared to figure it out on your own. (YouTube is your best friend).
He was super friendly and caring of his students at all times. Lectures were long, but his personality and clear communication made for an enjoyable experience. The course is not difficult, and most assignments are straightforward.
GMS200 content is quite dry and very boring. but Henrique tries his best to make the class enjoyable by telling real life experiences he went through. you don't need to go to class to be successful, just keep up with lectures and GLO BUS. you need to be very specific with group projects as the TA's are very picky.
online midterm, in person exam w/ q's on globus. not a bad prof, doesnt explain globus but kinda helps when asking questions. class was boring in it self so stopped going to lectures but he isnt an amazing prof like everyone claims. he's just the easiest but is boring most of the time. tries his best to be engaging tho.
great prof. content is very dry but he makes it interesting by sharing stories. exams arent difficult as long as you studied and know the concepts. TAs are strict with group projects so be careful with those. Globus is pretty fun. super friendly and casual guy. hes probably the best prof for this course.
HATE THIS PROF, takes forever to reply to emails and just yaps in the lectures. He could honestly finish the 3 hour lecture in 30-40 mins. He's also kinda racist and doesn't value student's time. :(
The best!!! Picked our own Glo-bus groups, lectures are not mandatory.
take him take him. you won't regret it
He tries to make lectures interesting, and he's a nice guy, but it's honestly not worth going to class. bro also takes an eternity to answer emails and doesn't consistently post slideshows (although that doesn't really matter because it's easier to study straight from the textbook anyway)
Hes is great
Pretty sure he was the only prof that let you pick your globus group members, hes probably the best one too out of all of them. He talks a lot about Brazil. He's super chill, you dont have to attend the classes. The TA takes a bit long to mark and lowkey is a hard marker. There were weird questions about Globus on the final, memorize the layout lol
In my opinion, he's a pretty good prof. His lectures sometimes didn't make much sense, but he tries to lighten the mood, and liked yapping, especially about unrelated things, so make sure to read over the textbook (can find on google), and always helps to explain. TA take ages to mark. Also, you kinda have to go to the lectures because of globus.
Henrique is a great, approachable professor who isn't rude like some others. Participate in class! Assignments and GLO-BUS are easy marks, and the midterm is mostly end-of-chapter questions in the textbook, but the final… ya ur cooked. He deserves a 5 but the content is like a 2.5 realistically. For the average student assume you end with a 75.
Everything was straightforward and easy. I will say I thought all of the GLOBUS questions on the final exam would come to me naturally so I did not study them at all, but I'm pretty sure most of the marks I lost was because of this lol.
Approachable and nice professor, but email responses can be slow or no reply. Midterm was fair and based on the textbook. Final exam was very time-pressured with 120 questions in 120 minutes and focused heavily on detailed Globus interface questions, including specific screen elements.
Nice prof. His TAs are lenient. Midterm was very easy, but Final was difficult as he added lots of application and Globus Qs. He is a chill guy but his lectures are not useful because he just speed runs through the slides. Just read the textbook to study, he himself says that. Overall he is easy and chill. Find yourself a good group for Globus.
I'm in his lecture rn writing this review. He's not the best but he chill guy tho. If he was more straightforward his lectures would be 1-2 hours max, yaps a lot about his personal life especially Brazil. GMS200 is based off the chapters of the textbook, so you don't have attend in person lectures.
For a capstone, takes forever to grade, is not accessible outside of class, and TA uses AI to grade student work (without consent). Does not follow his own grading criteria, so grading does not accurately reflect student's success or academic capabilities. To the future students taking 850, this course in no way represents your success. Good luck!
Overall not too difficult of a course. But he takes ages to send our marks back and the TA uses AI to grade our work instead of actually looking through our work.
