Excellent Prof,Has helped me a great deal,Good personality,Recommened to others

excellent professor, cares about his students, and is very clear.
Can't complain. Could be alot worse
everyone should love mr. andrews
The best math teacher I've had the post secondary level. Such a nice guy.
Just like every burnout math teacher you had in highschool
Cares about his students. Easy to understand
Very Helpful. Fair marker. Easy to get along with.
Really helpful professor, wants his students to do well; very nice man!!
he sucks so much! ha has his favs and thats all he cares about!
I had him for High School. Willing to help you only if he sees that you are trying your best
very nice, funny and helpful at the same time...
go to him with problems!!! very helpful
Have problems? Go to him! If you're not trying, well, it's your own fault. He's really great. Willing to help, very friendly, just an overall great prof! Everyone should love him!
Great Prof, he is truly helpful, if you have any fears or intimidations of math, take it with Mr Andrews. Genuinely nice guy
An excellent teacher. For a person who failed the course before and got an A with Mr.Andrews, that should tell you something. I would recommend him as a prof.
Andrews was very helpful and explained things very well. He showed an overall interest in his students and focused on making sure everyone did their best to pass the course.
He has his favorites. He keeps warning people that they will fail if they don't attend class. I found that I did better when learning the material for myself. But pay attention to the special examples he gives in class notes.
i hate math but this class with this prof was not too bad. he's a funny man and very nice. He's there if you need the help...just ask!! Great man!!
This guy is the best Math teacher I ever had. He really know his stuff and he knows how to explain it. I always struggled with Math but did really well in his class. I truly recommend this great teacher.
The best Math teacher ever. The nicest prof so far at MUN. He genuinely cares about his students. All you need to do is go to class, pay attention, and do a little homework and you'll be fine. Got to him for help.
great prof, great man. I hate math but he made it easier and fun. I've dealt with alot of teachers and he is the best
Henry Andrews is by far the best math prof ever! he makes up the final, so if you take him you will find the exam extremely easy, if you take it with someone else itll be tough. he is kind, sincere, iwent from a 50 to an A with him. he's great!
very helpful in all areas
wicked math prof. really tryies his best to help the students understand what he's teaching
I love Henry, he is awesome, i am really going to miss him next year when my math courses are over.
The best Prof ever, very friendly, helpful and most of all he's a cool little short man!
I learned so much about teaching Math from Henry. One of the best Math teachers that there was. I bet that Mount Pearl Senior High was sorry to lose you!
he great and offers help even when not in class he's very approachiable and incorporates student interists into the class so we stay interists
i don't think mr. andrews is all that helpful. i'm after going to him about stuff a coupe of times and he explains it so it makes sense to him, but leaves me completely dumbfounded.
Nice prof. with good lectures and a lot of examples. Doesn't like you to go to the Math Help Centre instead of approaching him.
A great professor. He loves to help out students whenever he can and is very helpful. My marks went up a lot in math this year as opposed to high school. He makes learning the course fun and enjoyable and gives excellent feedback on tests.
This Prof is definitely not as great as people make him out to be. He's helpful but he doesn't remind students of tests or assignments. And that's just one of his bad points! I wouldn't recommend him at all.

A fairly good teacher. Easy to get along with and to the point. In my experience, he is not as helpful in answering questions as everyone makes him out to be. I recommend going to class.
He is a very nice man and very approachable. Shows real concern for students. However, I did find that although he tried to be helpful when I asked for help, he didn't always succeed.
Great prof. Really interesting and friendly. Explains things very well and he's wicked funny too. He actually got me interested in the math class.
henry is by far the best prof ive had. when most profs know you as a student number, and 300 towards a paycheck, Henry knows you as a student and as an individual. He is the only prof that will call me by name, outside of class.Awesome.
I really hope I never Have Him As A Math Prof,AGAIN.
Nice guy, smiles a lot but not very helpful. He knows the stuff but can't always explain it easy enough so that his students understand it. Makes you feel like you don't belong in the class if you don't understand something.

THis guy's a pompus jerk. He chooses favorites and tries to make you feel like an idiot! His jokes are stupid and I NEVER believed the smile on his face was genuine! I think he tried his best to confuse me!
Know the depth of the material! Not a very good helper when needed. Don't ask questions in class-he makes you feel stupid. Don't give good lectures. Assumes you already know the material.
If you want someone to tell you that if you don't think like him that you're an idiot, then by all means go to his class.
you're always wrong and stupid according to him
he expects you to know the material BEFORE he teaches it to you. not a good proff
seems cheerful while he's teaching, but one on one he's rude and curt. doesn't seem to have much time for students unless you got in his good books early on. knows his math, but not a good teacher.
I really enjoyed this class and Mr. Andrews really help me understnad the material. If you listen in class and do your share of the work this course is an easy A.
His tests include questions that WERE NOT covered in class! How can he expect us to get the questions right if he doesn't teach us first?!?!
Not a bad guy, just not the most clear, helpful or polite prof...
Greatest prof and person I've had so far, some of these negatives must be first years trying to co parents
Great Prof! Attend classes and do the assignments and you'll do fine.
He's not great for your self esteem however he does know his stuff and is an excellant Math professor. His teaching style is great and as long as you go to class you should be fine. He is very cheerful in class and will definately make sure everyone understands somethign before he moves on.
excellent prof. if he knows you are putting in an effort, you will be rewarded. one of the best math profs at mun.
He is the worst math professor ever! Maybe he is good for math 1050 but he is definitely horrible for math 1000.
Difficult to understand. Had to spend a lot of time in the help center... He means well but his lectures are very unclear.
Really great prof, definitely knows his stuff. He is in LOVE with math. Helpful. I have no idea what some of these people are talking about,
This is the meanest guy I've ever met! HE's always insulting students and seems to always be out to get students on tests. His "favorite questions" are the one where lots of people get it wrong! And says he loves taking marks off on tests! Grrrrr....I'll NEVER take a course with him again!!
One of the best profs I've ever had. Really nice guy, easy to talk to, and genuine. I'm really surprised by what some of these other people had to say, honestly. I'd recomend him to anyone.
I thought Henry was going to be a great Math teacher but as the semester continued, I started struggling with my assignments and then it went downhill from there. I attended every class so that wasn't the problem.those of you who need to be shown how to do a problem b4 you can doit find another prof
Horrible...he is arragont and self centered...extremly unhelpful...will not answer questions and gives questions on assignements and tests that you've never done before...constantly puts students down...I wouldn't recomend him to anyone.
This course truely represents ur willingness to learn. People say he is rude or ignorant obviously didnt take the effort to speak to him outside clases. This guy went out of his way to help me...before making judgements GO SEE HIM
Not a good prof. I got 50s doing 1050 with him and 90s doing 1000 with a different prof. I think you either really like him or really don't.
nice guy but,not a very good professor before i had him as a teacher i got 80s in math and enjoyed it, but after having him i was failing and hated math. Get a different professor!!!
the most sarcastic, unhelpful, demanding excuse for a prof that i've ever had.we'd do easy questions in class but the tests & assigments had the most complicated problems, and he doesn't even give half marks.i got an A in 1050(which is generally the harder of the 2) and i borderline failed 1051 with him.he talks about everything but math. STAY AWAY!
I did two courses with him the same time and it was the worst mistake of my life. He gave easy examples in class but made the tests very hard. The final exam was CRAZY I didn't get time to finish it. I went in with a 79 and came out with a 68. I was pissed!!

The worst prof ever!!!!!
Great teacher and great guy. He speaks english, which is a huge rarity/bonus!
Henry Andrews has severe logic problems. He teaches as truth things that are patently false. He has a poor grasp of mathematics himself, so has absolutely no place on the faculty of a mathematics department.
Very unhelpful. When teaching new material, he just does examples of it rather than actually teaching or showing his students the method in doing it. He also expects you to know a lot of rules, even if you havent learned them before.
He has to be one of the worst profs at MUN. I did 1050 and got an 80... then did 1051 with him and failed.... I'm re-doing it now and have a 97 avg. There's something wrong here.
I thought he was excellent he helped me understand the questions all i had to do is ask and he kept explainging until i understood it. I would definately recommend him to anyone doing math 1050
bets professor I have had ad mun so far
VERY Sarcastic. Henry is a nice guy, no doubt. But I could never understand how assignments and examples in class were easy, yet the exams and term tests were brutal. No offense to him as a person, because that's the part I like about him. Wouldn't recommend him as a teacher though. =(
As a person, he is very sweet. However, as a teacher he suck. Don't even think to take math 1000 with him though. Take it with Professor Loveless(he is the best and easy)
I think he is a very good prof, he made great use of class time ..I rarely studied ..just went to class...very nice guy..pretty easy too ..I was never surprised at material on the tests..I got a 75!
If you are not mathematically inclined, DO NOT have him as a professor if there is a choice. You will be negelected because of your ineptitude for math and will find his lack of text book use infuriating. His comments toward those who are mathematically uninclined during lectures are quite offensive. Doesn't finish answers to examples he presents.
does not give good notes, or any for that matter. does not use the text- ie it was a waste of money to buy it! very unclear in class for those of us who are not mathematically inclined. als olieks to say how we SHOULD already know most everything he is teaching. weekly assignments are easy, however the exams are harsh. NOT recommended.
I enjoy his class which is saying something because I do not like math at all!!!!!! more then willing to help his students if you go to see him! He can be a little negative in class but I really dont think he means it.

This prof is very moody. One day he is helping you fully then the next day he's wondering why you don't know what he's trying to explain to the class--->when we are only learning it now for the first time...Come Off it MAN!!!!...Oh yeah you may have to teach yourself everything and be prepared to try to laugh at his dry jokes and comments.
I didn't like his style at all. I found his notes to be unclear and he usually didn't finish examples. I am not very good at math and I found his class to be terrible. He seems to pay more attention to student who are good at math as opposed to the students who are not. He seems like a nice enough man, but as a prof, he isn't my favourite at all.
I didn't like him at all. It was hard to take notes during his lectures. I did go to see him for extra help a few times and he was helpful, but his teaching style sucks.
I liked him so much that I took 1051 from him too. His assignments are hard and he makes you work which is great b/c out of all my friends in other classes, my class was the most prepared for the final. He is an excellent proff with a bad attitude. If you can handle his personality take his class, you will be better off in the long run for it!
Met him as a student, made a friend for years to come.
He was easily the most unhelpful professor I have ever had. His notes were awful and I was not at all prepared for the final exam- even after his "tutorials". Avoid taking math with him if you can!
If you show that you are interested in doing well and that you will try, he seems to have respect for that and will help if you need it. He won't help you if you dont try and wait til the last minute to get help. I would recommend him because he prepares you for what is actually on the final. Nice man.
I absoultly would never take a course with Henry Andrews ever again. I had to take one of his courses last semester, rather than have him as a prof, i put a 4 hour gap in my schedule. If you dont want someone**** on you dayin and day out, find a new prof. Henry Andrews SUCKS!!!!
I found him to be quite unhelpful. I took 1050 with him last semester and failed badly. I redid the course with another professor and I have an A going into the final. He seems like a nice man but I wouldn't recommend him as a prof, especially if you have difficulties with math.
Worst prof I ever had...Yes we know you will still get your paycheck even if we all fail... perhaps if ur assignments were not so difficult and frustrating we would have done better on the tests...oh and usually profs leave notes up longer than 2 seconds so students can actually have something to study...jackass!!!!!!!
Horrible prof. he cannot teach and he talks about himself all the time which is really annoying. He completely ruined my motivation to finish my degree cause i needed this course and he was no help at all. I would not take his class or this course do math 1090 its easier and gives you more degree options
This prof talks a lot about himself, and makes too many sarcastic comments, and dumb jokes. He marked fairly hard throughout the semester, but when I got to the final, found that he prepared us perfectly for the exam, ended up acing it! I would recommend him for Math 1000, just put up with it, the benefits will pay up for the dry humour.
I have never done well in math, and he did not make it any easier for me. He made me feel like an idiot and he's a horrible prof. I ended up failing cause he wouldnt give me the help i needed. If you have a hard time in math DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
Stay away ... he was not helpful to me, even when we met one-on-one. I do not recommend him for 1050.
On the good side :He teaches one step at a time, which is good because he doesn't rush you. On the not so good side: He often says one thing then writes something eles and confuses people. Class notes are very simple... Assigments are harder.. Tests are even harder. He doesn't explain things well when asked a question.
This man is the worst prof I have ever met. If you have to take a calc course do not take him whatever you do. He thinks he is the best person on earth and that you should know everything before he teaches it....and if you don't then tooo bad you should, is his moto. He is terrible for help and if you have a question he makes you feel like an idiot
The person before me said the truth but he is a really good teacher if your willing to put the work into it. Your not expected to breeze through the course and he does expect you to work on your own. He does explain things. I didn't catch on to one thing, went to him for help and he told me I'm hopless if I didn't know and never did help.
I found him to be wonderful. He used to teach high school math and thus you can approach him in such a way. I found that engaging in the class was a total bonus and he did not make me feel stupid for asking any questions. He did kind of stress me out when he got sad at the class for not knowing the answers suddenly, but outside that, I loved him!
He is not a bad prof. I never did not understand something. If you went to him outside of class he was willing to help. Although he never said anything to me, sometimes he made comments to others that would make you feel stupid for asking a question. Saying that, he does prepare you very well for the final that is common for all math 1000 classes!
Good explanations of concepts, if you do the practice and go to classes, the class becomes easier.
Andrews can seem brutal in the way he talks to a class, but if you go to him one-on-one he's one of the nicest and most helpful people imaginable. Questions on tests and assignments are exactly like those done in class, with some minor differences. If you do the assignments and show up, there's no reason not to do well.
He tried to make class interesting with little jokes. Sometimes wasn't overly clear on the material but he tried to be helpful as much as he could.
I loved this man. He was so nice. I never missed a class the entire semester. I went into the final with a 49 percent. I came out with an 80. his tutorials really help!
by far the worst prof ever
This teacher is really terrible. I can't imagine him being helpful, and nice outside of class. He is incredibly condescending and assumes that you know everything, and if you don't then 'you should'. Found him very rude, and above that, his tests and some assignments were very difficult. Not recommended to those who want a teacher who's nice.
Arrogant, pompous jerk. Refuses to help anyone, and on the rare occasion he does help, completely useless.
Henry Andrews is a good professor. He grades fairly. I've attended every one of his classes and learned a lot from him. He only likes teaching math to people who excel at it. He makes snarky comments in class, he has made people cry in my class. He really knows how to put people down and how to make you feel stupid. BE PREPARED for this professor.
It's hard to comment on a math professor. Some may think that if you're not good at math, you're bitter, you don't try, and you scowl at the person who gave you the mark. That's not the case. Andrews it brutal. He teaches only those who EXCEL at math. Everyone else is treated like garbage. He should be brought to the department head for an evaluati
Popmus, arrogant son of a gun. Makes little sarcastic jokes whcih are offensive. I can see why everyone has only bad things to say about him.
Mr. Andrews was fabulous. He was very approachable and always willing to help, you just have to show some interest. I would recommend this prof to anyone who is willing to work hard and learn a lot. After obtaining a degree, I don't think I've learned as much in any of my other courses then I did in M-1000. Tests/Assignments are tough, but fair.
Pompous Jerk. Appeals to only those who already excel at math and are his pet students. He practically advises everyone else to leave or fail.
he is sucks do not ever try to take any course with him whatever are the circomistamses
This prof was useless. He is very condesending and makes everyone around him feel like a idiot. He thinks way too highly of himself and expects you to know everything and to know it his way. If you don't, he pretty much says "too bad" or "i don't mean to say your stupid but that was very stupid." He's a ass! Stay Away!
Henry Andrews is very arrogant, but he knows his stuff and teaches all the topics needed for the final exam. He seems to be more fond of people who are already good at math though, the best thing about him was that he didn't care if your algebra was wrong as long as your calculus was right, thats the only reason I did as well as I Did.
I would not recommend this prof. If you do take his class, sit in the first 2 rows because they are the only ones that he teaches! If you need help or if you ask a question, he makes you feel stupid and he's very rude sometimes. Very moody. His assignments are lengthy and difficult.
I barely passed this course. If you have weak math fundamentals, he will not hesitate to point it out, and blatantly say "if you don't know how to do this, learn how, or quit" which is true, and if you're a child and can't handle it, then stay away. He is a pretty decent prof, he prepares you well for the final if you work your ass off (I didn't)
Great professor! If you are lazy and don't go to class, then you will surely do poorly with Mr.Andrews, as with any prof. Show some effort and go to classes and you'll do great. Highly recommend him.
This prof knows his stuff. If you're into math you will do fine, but if you aren't a math expert to begin with he will make you feel stupid and humiliate you in front of the class. If you don't get it right away, I'd advise dropping. If you go to him for help he will make you feel like an idiot, even if you go to class. Also helpful if youre girl
when I started reading the comments on here, I was shocked! Henry Andrews is the best professor I have had during my time at MUN, and in fact probably the best teacher I have had in my life! He explains concepts clearly, is very helpful, and when you meet with him one-on-one he is one of the nicest people I have ever met! I HIGHLY recommed him!
At first I was really afraid to attend another math class. Mr Andrews helped me out alot and made concepts more clear. I ended up getting a 80 in 1050 and a 75 in 1051. He is AMAZING. His assignment are a good help to prepare for unit tests (there are 3 tests). And he actually makes the course material a bit harder so you will fly through the final
Henrey Andrews was one of the best profs I have had at MUN so far. I had both math 1050 and 1051 with him. I am not a fan of math even to this day but when I was in his class he made it interesting and I actaully enjoyed it. He would throw in very corny jokes every so often and is not afraid to tell you how it is!
He is an amazing professor! His assignments and tests follow the notes! He is very helpful as long as you show some interest in the course, participate in the class and answer the questions he asks! Also go to his office and meet with him if you miss class or if you are having trouble! He will get to know you personally and remember your name, :)
I have had this prof for two years now and I hope he gets fired, he is the most arrogant man you will ever meet! He is very disrespectful and i don't understand how he got this job. He refuses to help, if you go to his office he will not help. If you ask a question he will tell you its a stupid question and to think. He thinks everyone should know
Worst professor ive ever had. he is useless for helping. he only likes sports players and makes everyone feel stupid when you ask him a question. really annoying. his assignments are hard and do not follow his notes. he wont accept assignments late at all. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF.
I can't believe what some people are saying here. Best prof I've had yet. If "makes you feel stupid" means 'points out your mistakes', or says 'use your brain/think', then yes. Gets to know students. Helpful is an understatement. Generally the people who don't like him don't come to class, or they don't pay attention. Excellent prof.
This prof is extremely bitter. He is very unhelpful and rude. If you dont sit in front of the class then he makes it seem like the rest of his students dont exist. If you ask a questino be prepared for a rude comment back. If you have a choose DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE WITH THIS PROF! Horrible is not even the word.
Notes are excellent, things are well explained. But if you're not one for understanding math I recommend someone else. I found him great but several people left his class because they found him 'rude' and would often say how screwed you are if you don't understand something right away.
Awesome notes! Challenging assignments, however tests were much more fair and straightforward. He's intimidating, he's unapproachable and his jokes are lame. However, he can teach well! I totally recommend, as long as you don't plan on asking any questions.
I love Andrews! The best teacher I have ever had and I still talk to him whenever I see him and eventhough I'm not in his class anymore he is always willing to help me with my work from other courses! I totally agree with the person who said if you don't like him, then you probably don't go to class! I not only consider him my ex-prof but a friend!
very intelligent, and knows how to teach
I don't know how anyone could not see that he is rude and insensitive. I go to every class, take every note, and I try to understand but I've never disliked a teacher more. If someone asks a question, he will shut them down completely, saying either he has already said that or say the answer in a "duh" sort of way. Avoid if at all possible.
he is very rude and even if you go to all his classes and takes notes he will still make you feel like an idiot if you ask a question. Also I had to do the math problems HIS way, or else I would fail. Stayed in his class for as long as i could stick it. NEVER again. Def. would not recommend this guy!
Great prof if you're good at math. I personally loved him and his sarcasm, but I know lots who didn't enjoy it. Can be rude to people who ask questions, but most times are common sense questions and would slow down the class
don't get this prof. he makes you feel like crap and he makes people hate math even more than they used to.
What a horrible teacher. Very rude. Repeats stupid jokes over and over. Doesn't give good notes. Makes anyone who asks a question feel stupid. Doesn't give any marks unless a question is completely right. I went to every class, took every note, and I advise you DO NOT GET MR. ANDREWS FOR ANY MATH COURSE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
hmm, he gives you awesome notes but probably the meanest person ive ever experienced in my life. forget asking anything in class, and even outside class, and if you dont do his assignments hes out to get you
He was excellent! Math is not my strong point, but if you're there to LEARN then you'll do just fine (as long as you show up for class, and pass in your assignments). If you don't show up and don't do assignments you'll probably fail. He was always available to answer questions, and explain things to whoever stuck around. Highly recommend him!
So far Harvey Andrews has been the best professor I have had at MUN. I found him very approachable and helpful and was very fair with the test and assignments. I would recommend him to anyone!
He is the worst teacher ever! If your not on a sports team forget about passing! ASK NO QUESTIONS or he will hate you! He mad me cry when i asked him for help and told me i should of never made it to university. Ignorante, calls students dumb to others, hard marker, assignments had things that were never covered in class. unfair marker. AVOID HIM
Does not explain topics well.
Horrible teacher! Does not give any marks unless answer is completely right. NOBODY GET HIM!
Approachable and easy to ask him questions. I do well in math so this class wasn't a big deal but missing any classes would have horrendously put me behind. Overall if you show up everyday and do the weekly assignments you should be ok. If you get stuff wrong on the assignments ask him for help and you will be prepared for tests.
I loved Henry Andrews. This man loves math and loves teaching it. He is definitely a fair marker and you get what you deserve (I failed the course and I still love the guy). Want an easy A? Don't both with him. Though, I s'pose math 1000 isn't the place to look for an easy A. Long story short, Andrews is a good prof. I recommend him wholly.
Very discouraging
Go to class, do the assignments, and GO TO THE HELP CENTRE! If you are not willing to work for this, he does get frustrated, but do you blame him? It's introductory math!! I HATED math my whole life, but he has made me love it. He is wonderful, crystal clear, and wants his students to do well.
Great Prof! Had him for math 1000 - Assignments may seem more difficult that other prof's, but it really helps prepare you for the exam! Do the assignments, go to class, and work hard and you'll do fine! Andrews loves math, so it makes the classes even better!
Mr. Andrews is an awesome prof! If you are having any troubles just go and talk to him and he will clarify anything for you! had him for 1050 and 1051 actually teaches and wants you to learn.
mean. dont ever ask the man a question! the only way to pass is to seem extremely interested and be a girl, considering all males were not only shot down when asking a question but ignored all together. This teacher made me so mad that I couldnt pass in a review, i was left speechless, I have never met a teacher so aggravating!
Very Unprofessional. Shocked he is teaching at the university level, he admitts that he is under qualified, and is just a highschool teacher.
Disrespectful, and extremely unprofessional. If at all possible, avoid him. He pretty much called me dumb in front of my class when i asked a question. He excels at humiliating others.
The definition of Arrogant.
I found he knew what he was at but is very disrespectful.
Horrible. Disrespectful. Malicious. I enjoyed math before this course, and due to his methods I doubt i'll be able to continue onward with a positive attitude towards math. Everything he says irritates me.
Worst. Teacher. Ever.
Useless prof. 3 years at mun, and he is the worst prof. I have ever had so far. Avoid him if you can and pick another math professor who can give you an A+ easy!
Overall he is a pretty good prof, he grades very fairly and basically tells you what will be on your tests plus most of the questions are from your assignments anyway so no surprises. I would recommend this prof to anyone whether you are strong in math or not he gives you everything you need in your notes so doing assignments are a breeze.
I have heard pretty bad things about Professor Andrews, so I was weary of registering for a course with him. So far I find him great. If you pay attention and contribute during class. He will like you and you will understand better. Overall I'd recommend him. He will call you out though
I'm taking math with Mr. Andrews this semester. So far, I think he is a great prof. He is clear, concise and requirements of us are clearly stated. He can be tough on you, but he should be. This isn't high school! Be accountable for yourselves and stop blaming him because you do poorly but don't put in the work needed.
AVOID. Should not be teaching at university level, under-qualified, cruel, self-righteous, discouraging and malicious. Mean mean mean.
He taught the material simply and was easy to understand. I do not think I would've done as well with any other professor. I will agree that he was arrogant and I would not want to approach him for help.
An excellent prof and a sweet man! Very approachable, just expects you to do your work.
Absolutely the RUDEST prof ever. Laughs at students who hand in tests who've done poorly. Lectures students about how they're going to make bad teachers if... AVOID at all costs. And i got a 75 in his course, so i'm not hating because I failed! Just being honest. RUN AWAY FROM HENRY!
His rants about having to work hard in the course can be a little redundant but it's only because he cares about his students. He takes a hands-on approach and tries to give students as much extra credit as possible. The pressure he puts on students to keep up with the course can certainly pay off in the end.
Best Prof I have ever had at MUN! Really nice man and really great prof. you just have to do the work and ask questions!
I'm not Henry's biggest fan. I would not recommend him as a prof but I would recommend the course. He seemed so rude and arrogant. He has a very big ego. Just not the best learning environment.
Knows his stuff and is willing to help those who want to do well but you will know that because he will talk about it ALL THE TIME. I would never suggest his course to people as he is very rude and talks very negatively about students. Avoid if possible. Especially if you're not confident in math. If not be sure to attend EVERY CLASS.
Would not recommend approaching Henry for help unless you like feeling like an idiot. He is cruel when he jokes and his assignments are terrible. I go to every class, write detailed notes and have a tutor and I can barely get through them. Likes to prove that he knows what he is doing. If you don't understand what he is teaching, too bad! AVOID!
As my first (and only) math course taken at MUN- I'm glad I got Henry Andrews as my math prof, he makes everything clear and he is very understanding when you're late on an assignment or whatever. Yes he can be "mean" but he just cares and want you to do your work. If I needed to take math again, I would def pick him!
I had Henry Andrews for my Math 1000 Prof during Fall 2011. I did not do Pre Calculus in High School and I came out of the course with an A, and math is not my cup of tea. Yes he may be rude sometimes but if you go to his office for help he really do care and explains it so well. Overall, he was one of my favorite Profs at MUN thus far
I would not recommend him. He is funny in class, but he puts people down, and takes no notes what so ever. Not a fan.
Henry Andrews is the sweetest man on the earth. He has been my favourite prof I have had. He cares so much about whether you do well or not, He would always recommend students going to his office for help for assignments and stuff and would not care if you went 10 times a week. He's the best!!
Henry is a down to earth kind of guy, who puts everything on the table. He was very blunt about people not putting effort in. Do your assignments or he will hate you. Henry teaches VERY fast paced, and makes many mistakes that he doesn't notice in the notes making it very hard to study. I would recommend this course, but NOT with Henry Andrews.
