He's really a great teacher. He gives extra credit that you should take an advantage of. There's a lot of reading if you want the extra points and his tests aren't that bad. I would recommend taking him if you really want to learn

Great teacher. He really cares about his students and you can tell that he likes what he teaches. The material is somewhat challenging, but as a teacher I highly recommend him.

Very interesting man, he catches your attention with great topics. But, you do a lot of reading and go to the Learning Lab quite a few times. He not only helped me understand political topics and the political language, he unknowingly helped me in English 132 and 233. If you want to learn, take him. He is an old school kat, but he's good.

Dr. Bowers is a VERY well educated man, he knows what he is talking about. If you don't want to work for your accomplishments, what is the point of college???? For all of the whiners out there... maybe you should put some effort forth. No pain, No game..

A very entertaining lecturer with a wealth of knowledge. Assignments are given very haphazardly, however, and due dates are very hazy, at best. Tests are exercises in memorization of minutae. The best scores in my class still amounted to the mid 80s for percentage correct. I recommendhim if you want to learn, but it isn't "easy" per se.

I dont like politics so I was not intrested, and he is a very hard teacher, he gives you a lot of readings and assignmnets. But he is very helpful and he jokes around and has fun. Hes very educated and if you want to learn take him. By the end of the semester he does get easier and helps more people with their grades to get them up.

I have Mr. Bowers as a teacher. While he may be a harder teacher, he's a good teacher. He give you reviews for the tests that I find really helpful. I strongly recommend his class. One time he even brouhg tin freshly baked cookies. :) If he sees you in the hall or outside, he's one of the few teachers who actually say hi and ask how you're doing.

Mr. Bowers is hard teacher but a great teacher. I highly recommmend his class. The lectures were not really based on the book, so you couldn't follow along. You had to do a lot of text reading to do well on the tests.

he is a great teacher. he jokes with u n just on the whole makes u feel great. its a pleasure being in his class n he s sincerely interested in not just teaching stuff but making sure one is having fun in his class. n he goes out of his way to help his students

Dr. Bowers was a very friendly and knowledgeable professor. Yes he may be hard for some (slacker) students, but he GIVES you the answers for the tests!! Just read the book and there is no reason to not get an A. Gives ample extra credit points. I would/have recommended him to other students.

Great teacher..very intelligent...very helpful....gives study guides for test which are the questions on the test...you have to read and do study guides to do well on test...plenty of chances for extra credit..loved this class!!!

Dr. Bowers is a tough teacher, but thats just because he expects a lot from his students, and with good reason. College isn't supposed to be easy. It's possible to get an A in his class if you don't slack. Take notes,study,do your assignments and there's no reason you won't get an A in his class. He can teach you a lot if you want to learn.

mr bowers is an awesome teacher and anyone who disses him is just flat out weird and shouldn't be taking political science

Dr. Bowers is an excellent teacher and knows the subject extremely well.He was very lenient with making up tests.There is a lot of reading but as long as you read the material there is no reason you shouldn't get at least a B. He also offered a lot of extra credit for those who struggled.As for the neg comments made, the people couldn't even spell!

the tests are hard even if u read the book BUT there is A LOT of extra credit and he helps u out if u need it and the final is a blow off it was easy

Good teacher, really cares about his students, although his tests are difficult and you have to read the 80 page chapters to have a chance with the tests. Gives loads of extra credit. Very nice guy.

He's a very interesting fellow with lots of experience and stories to share. He was up front with what he expected and said as long as we take notes, we'd be fine. He was also great about giving hints about what would be on tests. I would definately recommend him to anyone!

a very interesting professor i dont know y everyone is complaining on his grading. Its a simple class if you actually pay attention to what your reading. Not HARD At AlL!!!!!

He is a wonderful teacher, that knows the subject like the back of his hand. You will leave his class with a full understanding of politics. He knows the answer to any question you will ask him. Be prepared to work and study hard, but it is worth it. Follow his directions and you will get an A. He even tells you when to take notes. He's really nice

I actually enjoyed my experience in Dr. Bowers class....He really taught me to think in depth and go a tad farther than what's expected although I only got a B I feel that I work for it he didn't hand it to me and I can live with that....Oh yeah and he was better than I had to drop to keep from failing....PJ

AWESOME teacher! Expects students to behave like college students, and to EARN their grade, he doesn't hand them out. Very knowledgable, doesn't just use the book, but expects you to have a clar understanding cover to cover. He basically gives you the answers to all the test and quizzes offers extra credit and only has one paper due,HIGHLY recommen

He seriously spoon feeds information and gives very detailed reviews of test material. Minimal effort got me an A. Bowers is a very cool guy, and funny, too. There is some very LAME lab work involved, though. Speed reading etc. Sucked.

Great teacher but you need to do your part to get a good grade. He knows the subject matter very well. Reading the book and note taking are mandatory. I got an A and it was not all that hard. Just did the work.

tough class. gives you test study guides but they dont help,except on final. gets a tad mixed up in lectures. doesnt seem to care about class, as if he's done it 1000 times.hw is just projects and learning lab, no hand outs. i dont recommend. great person just not great teacher.tests are confusing, could have multiple answers. got a B, fortunately

This professor is very, very good at what he does. He makes you laugh. This is a hard class, but you have to study. He is a very fair grader.

Awesome professor. Actually got me interested in poli sci. He is smart and treats you like you're smart. Keep up with the readings & lectures. He is a nice guy.

In the beginning i was kind of confused but after a lot of reading nd making flash cards i passed with an A!!! he helpful but i think he has to c that u want to learn... u earn the grade he doesn't just give it to u

He is a GREAT teacher but you need to read and listen in class. He will hand you the answers if he knows you are trying, but if you talk and text and never have an idea about what is going on you will fail! Read and answer questions in class and you will pass, he makes sure of it!

Knows what he is talking about his tests are just very hard. If you study the vocab and actually read you will pass! Take advantage of ALL extra credit and GO TO CLASS. Not a class to blow off in or not study but he does teach it well and knows what he is talking about. Great teacher.

He is awesome! Funny, makes it interesting and interacts with his students. Gives study guides, and vocab terms that make the test SO EASY! as long as you use them to study of course. the textbook is used more at home than in class and for personal study purposes. Hes great, i would recommend him to anybody!!

After reading all these negative comments i feel OBLIGATED to write him one. I took Bowers in last year and i honestly thought he was so easy. All you need to do is read and alot of the questions on the test are basic things you should already know. If your a student who stays on top of everything then you should be fine because everything is easy!

Dr. Bowers was a wonderful instructor! He takes Political Science and makes it very accessable and interesting. Make no mistake; you will have to work, but you enjoy the process.

He is tough but fair. I loved how he had complete control of the class and how intelligent he is. If someone is not serious about working hard and learning a lot, find another professor!
