Very helpful, fast feedback and accommodating
The strengths of the course would have to definitely be the instructor because he does a great job at setting everything up and knows exactly what he is doing
Great instructor who is nearly always available to provide assistance. Excels at providing regular status checks and updates. Would take again and highly recommend for anyone else.
One of the best professors at SPC. From day one all assignments were opened up so you could get ahead. Assignments were due on a Mondays. If you didn't do so well on an assignment, you could re-do the assignment for a higher grade.
He is a great professor! Everything that is expected of you is laid out and clear cut. He will help you with anything you don't understand.
Professor Cutler was very helpful during the semester. I found the course work quite organized and well paced. He is very quick to respond to emails and will help anyway he can.
Awesome class! Professor Cutler, makes the class fly. Very educated on the subject, and provides a real world examples. Just show, up and you should be fine.
Professor Cutler is a good teacher. You must have the book to do the assignments. He is quick to respond to emails. I would recommend him to an student in any class. If I decide to take additional computer classes, I would definitely choose him as an instructor.
two words Easy A
an "pretty easy A" class
He is a great professor! , will help you with anything you don't understand, send and email with code or questions and responds same day with what was wrong!!. He gives you grace periods to work the problems over if you need to. Because the way he teaches, I was able to understand and pass.
Prof Cutler is very passionate and knowledgeable. His class is interesting and EASY A. Do all the homework and It is an easy class, even when the workload is bigger. He replies to emails in a timely manner and is willing to help you out, just ask!!
Awesome professor. Very responsive to emails and provides expectations. If you do the work there is no reason you shouldn't get an A. Workload was not too bad. I would take him again.
It was an express 8 week class with a lot of work, but Professor Cutler is very fair. He worked with me when I experienced an issue. His grading is always done the day after the class. Highly recommended.
Given online, the instructor provided weekend assistance which is suitable to those that work M-F long hours. Definitely helpful!
The level of course work is adequate for the class objective. If you are interested in actually being taught, and if you feel that you want to learn something from a class that you are PAYING for, then take this professor.
I took professor Cutler's class online but he seems like a very nice guy. He offers plenty of chances to get your grade up. This class is a lot of work, though. But the good news is, if you keep up with your projects, its an easy "A"
Took this class online. It relies on TestOut for all of the course materials and quizzes. There is a lot of coursework so this class is a real big time commitment. The instructor was available for help and gave feedback.
Prof Cutler's Social Media class isn't hard (follow the instructions carefully on assignments and you'll get As) but some of the assignments are time consuming. If you go into the class with a basic understanding of social media AND you make sure not to miss any assignments, you'll pass with an A.
Intro course, but if you've never done any programming, it can be difficult; lots of homework. Powerpoints are boring, I found him to be helpful when you asked questions. Open book for all assignments and quizzes are easy. Less than a day to grade homework!.
Professor Cutler is what Computer Science Professors should be. I was terrified of programming and failed the class before taking him.. Although I still feel a scared about it he really made learning coding a great experience. Def take class
This professor was great. I did not like my it lab but the professor graded any assignment the computer didn't take. I finished the course early thanks to all assignments being open. Definitely taking him again.
If you haven't been exposed to this kind of stuff before and struggle, this is the professor you must take!. He knows his stuff, and I would definitely take him again. Nice guy too.
Amazing professor, gives you the help if you want it. went above and beyond for the class, extended dates, and helped personally with assigments.
He is an amazing professor! Dedicated and passionate about his work and will go above and beyond to help you understand the material . Gives credit for any submission and expects class participation but that' a good thing since it makes the class fun lol. Put in study time of your own and you will excel
I was lucky to have him in the spring for Introduction to Programming. He is very knowledgeable and knows the material very well. His lectures are clear and precise. Some reading of the material before class is preferred as that will help you understand the material better and he expects class participation.
I really enjoyed his class. He's a nice, fairly easy teacher who has a lot of experience in the field. He is very knowledgeable on the subject, His class has secured my interest in pursuing a computing related major.
Actually learned something. Originally I was not looking forward to the subject matter, but he was able to present in a professional manner that did keep my attention. I enjoyed the class over all.
Online class. He responds right away every time. Gives awesome feedback. There is A TON of stuff to do in the class - projects and homework. Overall I thought he is great professor. Definitely would take him again in a heartbeat. Some extra credit but not much
This class is not easy, but it also is not hard if you put forth the effort! Prof. Cutler will help you, but if it is obvious you did not read, then he ask you to read first, then come to him. There are no short cuts in this class. He even lets you come during office hours to work on assignments.
Very helpful and willing to work with you. As well as answer your questions clearly in order for you to grasp the concept. I would highly recommend him if your unsure about whether programming is right for you or not.
Very helpful and willing to work with you. As well as answer your questions clearly in order for you to grasp the concept. I would highly recommend him
Just completed the course. If you do the work, you get the credit. Instructor gave a lot of in-class support. This was great as he was present to provide assistance when needed
Professor cutler will answer emails and grade very fair. If you do all of the assignments on time and at least give some effort you will get an A. There are lots of little writing assignments each week and the class goes by fast, but there are no quizzes and material is pretty easy and current.
Compared to other online business classes, this class is easy. If you give good effort he awards you with 100% on assignments.
If all of my classes will be offered by one teacher only , Dr. Cutler is the one . Do your homework ( case studies , MIS project, weekly discussion, 2 allowed attempts on weekly quizes. Grade A will appear in the transcript. Note, read directions about case studies and projects and simply follow it.
Do your work and you'll get an A!! A lot of writing papers, but it's pretty straight forward and easy. I took the express class online and got an A.
Great Professor!, I would definitely recommend taking this class especially if online. It's a little confusing at times, but I'm taking the course right now we watch videos and do assignments. You definitely learn only if you pay attention to the videos, and do the assignments.
The nicest professor ever!!! He is very understanding. Straight forward with what he expects and by when he expects it. He helps anyone who asks for it. One of the best professors out there.
This is the kind of class I was expecting for a bachelor's course, course is structured well and the instructor is available for help. This is one of the best online courses I've taken, highly recommend this professor!!
He is a good professor in general. There's quite a bit of work to be done but as long as you do it, you should be good to go. Make sure you get your book early, I missed a few assignments because I got mine late.
Took the online class - easy homework, projects and tests. Professor Cutler is very helpful and accessible, make sure you turn everything in on time and put the effort in. Projects are straightforward and he gives clear rubric's so make sure you read them first in the submission instructions!.
This was one of the greatest professors I have had. He is very intentional about helping students with course work if you are having issues. He is willing to meet up at almost anytime. Definitely recommend this course and him as a professor.
Amazing professor. Helped me through a lot and was always understanding. I have a great deal of respect for the guy. His exams are hard but fair and none of the material surprises you. You just have to be thorough
Amazing Professor! Really made me love Computer Science and I came as an absolute novice with no programming experience. Lots of work outside of class and the latter assignments do tend to get tricky but exams and quizzes are generally fair apart from one tricky question.
Professor Cutler teaches the intro Python classes, and Java courses occasionally. He is an incredible professor who really knows how to get the material across which is so important in the beginning. Weekly homework assignment (2-4 coding ) quizzes and Final. Will respond to emails within an hour at reasonable times. HE CARES.
Best professor I've had at SPC. Hardest class I've had at SPC. Don't take it if you don't have to, but if you do... be glad you have professor Cutlerl
Such an easy A! Definitely take Professor Cutler. He isn't strict on due dates online and as long as you do the work you basically get an A on it. Highly recommend.
Professor Cutler is one of the best professors I've ever taken and definitely the best CS professor I've ever had. He's an expert and will do everything he can to help you in and out of class. Class was a little hard but fun
If you want an easy A or B with minimal efforts, this is the professor you should go with. If you want to really learn something, I strongly suggest you take this course with another professor.
Amazing professor!!! I would definitely recommend taking him. Everything that I have learned in class i have used at home and work. He works with you and if you are having a hard time he will try to work with you
He is a wonderful professor. He is very deadline orientated and gives good feedback. He is usually willing to work with and help students
Nice Professor, responds fast to all emails, you can work ahead! I have nothing bad to say about the professor or course, happy to take this class
Great Professor. Although there is a bit of homework, it's vital to learning the subject. He was always willing to provide assistance. I would take him again for another subject.
The best professor I have taken at SPC. He is super nice and cares for his students. I can't wait to take his class again for Java Programming
This is an great professor. You will have to work for your grade but you will definitely learn a lot in this course.
He is extremely rude and condescending to students.
Great professor, Best COP1000 instructor at SPC, his classes ALWAYS fill first.
Wonderful online professor and grades quickly
This class was great. Online classes always make me nervous but Professor Cutler was great. Got back to me via email within 48 hours. There is a quiz, discussion, project, and case study due each week but not too time consuming. He gets grades out there at the end of each week with great feedback! Would definitely take him again!
Great professor. Each week we had 1 Quiz (2 attempts at it timed for 2 hours), 1 Discussion and would respond to 2 classmates as well, 1 MIS Project, and 1 Case Study. At the end of the semester, if you did the student survey for his class, you would get 5 extra credit points. You'll get the point which can help your grade tremendously!
Best professor I've had. He keeps things as simple as possible, and if you don't understand something, he breaks it down for you. He's very friendly and wants everyone to pass. If you're willing to learn and practice the material, you will land an A in his class. Highly recommend this teacher!
I took CGS 1100 online and this professor made the class very manageable. From the first day, every assignment with its due date and points value is posted, you can work ahead. Professor Cutler is easy to reach via email and always responds promptly and is more than willing to help with any questions you may have. He wants his students to do well!
I took COP 1000 online and Professor Cutler was awesome. He responded promptly to any questions I had and gave very good feedback on assignments. I also loved the fact that I could work ahead!
He was extremely kind, easy to get a hold of outside of class as well. Always willing to help you out when you don't understand something. All the assignments are accessible since the first day. Lectures ares quick and informational. Would recommend.
I took this class on campus. Very straightforward. You need the correct SIMnet access code and the Textbook is online. You need to be careful completing the assignments. one mistake will affect your grade (the program grades it). Any time i needed help, Prof. Cutler responded quickly. Some people missed assignments and he let them make it up.
I enjoyed Professors Cutler online ISM3011 class. I spent around 6-8 hours a week on his class. Read the Chapters and pay attention to the objectives. Use APA Format. Cite everything.
It was an intro class and he made it seem like it was not nearly as hard as it should have been for someone with no experience. Each program is worth around 10% of your grade, and he allows second submissions. I will DEF take his classes in the future.
Definitely an amazing professor. I took him online for my computer class, and at the beginning had a hard time getting the hang of things. He was very patient, and even allows students numerous chances to improve their grade!
Took Javascript class online. Condescending, Tough Grader, Does not let you resubmit assignments for better grade. Teaching style is pretty straightforward. 4 Quizzes, 4 Discussion posts, 4 Programming assignments.
He always try's to help students, very quick to answer emails. Very nice and friendly, He really knows his subjects. Assignments have detailed instructions and I really learned allot from this class!
Such a nice person! Extremely caring, and extremely understanding! Do NOT take this difficult course with any other professor!
Professor Cutler was very welcoming every Monday. As a person who knew little about computers, he helped me out to succeed in the class. If you watch the videos and look to the textbook, you will do great.
Professor Cutler spells out everything you need to do to pass his class and get good grades on the assignments. Most content is in MyMISLab and assignments are based on reading the online book, and they are not difficult as long as you have read the chapter. Very fast at responding to emails!
This professors coursework wasn't thorough enough to gain a full understanding of Java. There were very few examples provided on coding in the textbook and lecture notes. I would not recommend taking Java I or II with professor.
The best professor I have taken at SPC. He is super nice and cares for his students. I can't wait to take his class again for the next level of Java Programming
He truly cares about his students. He makes himself available to you. He is very knowledgeable and great at what he does. I wish other professors had his teaching style. he really got me to understand and like Programming!
RUN. I always asked for help and was met with rude vague emails. I was told to look on "google" for help instead of helping a fellow student. I can't believe this man is a professor you will find yourself up many nights to no amend studying and working hard for nothing. RUN FROM THIS CLASS DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID.
Class was always informational and I learned so much. The book helped but not as much as class content. Prof. Cutler gives clear guidelines and is very accessible outside of class. Awesome professor, very engaging, super helpful when you get lost in some of the steps. Quick to respond to emails. All around a great professor.
When you need help, he is able to help you. When you have a question, he'll answer it for you. When you're up against a program that won't run, he'll find that problem and tell you what you need to fix. Honestly, I wish I could have all of my courses with him. He's very giving and extremely understanding.
This is one of the best professors on campus. Take the more advanced courses with him, such as Java. He is very attentive and will help you in any way he can. There is a lot of work in Javascript, but you have plenty of time to finish the assignments, so there is no excuse.
One of the best online professors I've ever had. He structures the online ISM class very well. I've never written a review on here before so that should tell you something. I'm about to finish the class with a 97 and I'm an average student. Follow the directions, put in a little effort and you'll get an A.
This course is taught with Pearson's MyMISLab and eBook. Each week there are 2 chapters to read and exercises within the eBook. The exercises are easy. Quizzes have the most weight in the class. Each week a case study from the book and one of your choice is due. The student selected study is APA format. Quick grader!
I took intro to Programming class and obviously I have no previous coding experience in Python which is very hard. You will have to do heavy research since basically none of it is in the book. You will sit in front of your monitor for hours trying to figure out how to do the assignments but that's just coding in general for you.
This class is truly an easy A. If you do the work, you will get an A on all the assignments. My only complaint is he is a little assignment heavy. There is 6-10 assignments in lab program and 2 written assignments due each week. They aren't hard but are a bit time consuming.
Very enjoyable class. The textbook, professor, and assignments supported the learning experience and objectives. The text in particular was relevant and current (I've been in IT for 30+ years) and I was pleasantly surprised not to find out of date references or "standard practices" that would get you fired.
A great professor who provides more than enough resources to understand the content. In this class you create a python program each week. The information that you learn from each program is often used again in the next assignment. I did not need to purchase the book to pass this class with an A but it definitely would be helpful if you need help.
Assignment deadline is Sunday 11:30 pm, random as hell. No late submissions at all. Weekly quizzes are 5 points and assignments are 8. Why do quizzes hold so much weight. For a programmer, logic is missing.
