Herzog is an excellent professor. His tests are difficult, but his accessibility and explanations are top-notch. He is 100% committed to his students' learning and remembering the intricacies of molecular biology.

He is an excellent professor. You need to study for his tests, but they are not hard. He gives you an outline for every chapter and q's to answer-follow the outline and do the q's and you should do well. Highly recommended.

He's by far one of the best teachers in Wright college. He explains the concepts in a great and clear way. If you are a scince major and would like to take him for Micro and remember the materials for future, he is for sure the best teacher.

Crystal clear with his lectures!!He covers every question that you would imagine and if u do have a question he will be glad to help. Although, def. not an easy class do to the workload and preparation.This is a class that you def. have to focus a lot of your time on. Well worth it though, cuz I walked away with so much knowledge!!

Professor Herzog is AWESOME. He is hard at first, but know this...YOU MUST PUT FORTH EFFORT. This class is not an easy A or B, u have to work hard at it. His exams are hard, but it is all from the book, notes, lectures & Cd. Ask questions,participate in class discussions, do the extra credit (although it might not make sense). GOOD LUCK

Take this class! You'll be amazed at how much you'll learn & how much fun you'll have doing it. It's a hard class but with the motivation & effort to work hard you'll be rewarded with a fair grade.He's really in his element as a teacher,knows what's he's doing,is extremely prepared,is willing to go the extra mile to help you understand the topics.

Okay, Yes he knows a lot but his class is very hard. His exams are very hard and tricky. He takes points off your labs if you don't clean the microscope properly. Almost no extra credit!!!

A professor cannot teach a class if the students enter the class unprepared. Herzog provided the students questions to be completed for the days lecture. I found this to be very helpful.If you answer the questions he gives, do the reading,and pay attention in class, there is no reason for failure. ^_^ I recommend him to everyone.I loved this class!

very demanding but easy class. need to put in a lot of work (like daily journals) but his tasks are not hard at all. great teacher. tells you EXACTLY what to study for exams. willing to help in anyway he can. highly recommend this class & prof.

Very organized. Focuses lectures and materials. He gives you everything you need to know to do well on exams. You must put forth effort, and you'll do well. Must attend every class and be prepared. If you're lazy, you won't do well. Your grade is the result of your effort.

He's the gratest professor I took this semmester. Extremely helpful and very clear on subject that being teach. There are lots of easy to do extra credit and if you do and understand all the review questions and study guide, the test will be a piece of cake. I'm strongly recommend anyone who need to take micro to take Proffesor Herzog.

Each question from the review guide is discussed during lectures, so always have it in hand when he goes through it because he sometimes goes fast and you will easily get lost. I suggest getting a tape recorder or used your phone. Always participate in class to earn E points and STUDY hard. Review everyday. Remember, exams are 60% of your grade.

While prof. Herzog's lectures are dull, he is very knowledgeable and is very helpful. Exams are tricky, but he does provide all the necessary answers. Textbook is not needed. 4exams per semester totally 2/3 of your grade. Study hard, show up to class and you'll get an A. His grading scale is 92-100% for an A.

Professor Herzog is a great professor who is passionate about what he teaches. He has excellent clarity for the labs and gives detailed lectures and is always open for further elaboration and help. Since he does not write notes on the board you either need to print your ppt or take fast notes or record them. Take good notes, study and get an A.!

Excellent Professor! Use his review guides during lecture, study them, and you'll get an A on exams. Gives EC on exams! Labs are interesting and he is very clear! Read the background info on labs; they are on exams too! Possible to get a hundred on exams and all labs! Very possible to get a high A in the class as well! Highly recommended!

loved his class!! herzog is an excellent professor. he helps you succeed because he wants you to. he gives you all the tools it's just up to you to take advantage of them. do the reviews, the class prep assignments, and read the background on the labs. you learn a lot in his class and it's actually really interesting.

Good prof. helpful. Pro: gives sheets w/ need to know/understand for test and there are 4 exams w/ some online quizes. No book required. Con: The exams are hard and tricky. HE IS A HARD GRADER. He takes points away for every little mistake and only gives partial points for what he considers an 'incomplete answer'.

no textbook needed quizzes are exactly what you read and can be answered from the given CA responses ..exams are tricky but re read the questions and if you studied the review questions you will do well. Awesome guy really clear sort of boring presentations slides but intersting lecture

I took this class my first semester and I liked it a lot. He takes everything very seriously;be prepared to do labs. DO THE STUDY GUIDES they help a lot. There was also chapter quizes to take online and are part of your grade don't slack.Definitely not an easy class but if you take it seriously you will do well.

I think the guy gets a bad rap. The class can be very, very hard, but I think you should know what he expects after the second exam (first one is cushy), detail oriented. Hardest A I earned, and I've taken plenty of bio. He does come across as frustrated at times. Still, I thought the class was very interesting. It's truly a class for gunners.

Seriously, lay off the guy!He's tough, but whatever program you enter is going to be 100x harder! Sometimes you have to suck it up an do what you have to. Understand taking all these classes is a weeding process. He does seem stern sometimes, but I do believe he cares for students on a personal level. I got an A and worked crazy hard for it.

One of my favorite professors from Wright College. He is very clear about what to expect on exams. He knows what he is talking about and keeps class interesting. Study his ppt slides and you will be just fine.

Herzog is a great teacher! The way he sets up his exams are from the review questions and labs. He goes over everything and if he happens to miss something during review time, he is willing to go over it. Study and you will get an A, also study the genus names! Spelling helps :-)

He's really nice! Also a great teacher. A bit of studying is required to pass exams but his lectures help a lot.

He's great professor, I did not buy any books I just listen to his lesson and read the class preparation assignment, and do the study guide that he will give for the exams. He takes his time to discuss the lesson which is good for student to understand. This class was nice and good. I do recommend him

Great teacher. You'll pass without textbook. I recommend him. Do not miss his classes, listen in the class & take good note. Proper care of the microscope is essential, read all his PowerPoint. You might be intimidated on the first day of class. Lots of easy points through his quizzes. Always ready to help. His review questions help a lot

Professor herzog is one of the very passionate teachers i have ever encountered. He knows what he's teaching. It's not an easy class. I've worked really hard for it. If you want an easy A don't take this class but if you want to learn this is the right class for you. He gives easy quizes but the exams are hard so you really have to work for it.

Good professor overall. Micro Biology is a pretty hard class. Lectures are pretty long with tons of information. You'll have to really study if you want to pass. Herzog's lectures are pretty clear and understandable. But his test are tricky and tough. I disliked how he wants you to really participate, if you don't you'll hurt your your grade.

He's a really good lecturer and organizer. Always check blackboard, the quizzes are online. However make sure you do well on the exams. Exams are based on lectures and labs but he provides questions to review that are very helpful. Exam questions are tricky but it will be okay as long as you study hard and able to answer the review questions.

HE IS SUPER GREAT IN LECTURES , BUT THE LABS ARE CONFUSING SINCE HE EXPLAINS ALL THE STEPS AS A WHOLE , SO NOT GOING WITH THE STUDENTS STEP BY STEP WHICH MAKE IT SO CONFUSING TO THE STUDENTS, BESIDES IT IS TOO LITTLE TIME IN THE LAB , HE EXPLAIN FAST . BUT OVERALL, IF YOU GO TO HIS OFFECE HE WILL ANSWERS ALL THE QUESTIONS WITH RESPECT .

Herzog is the most organized professor at Wright. His lectures are very clear and tells you exactly what you need to do to exceed. He has never been condescending to anyone in the class, and is always very helpful with anything you need. Tests can be difficult, but it allows you to really learn the material. Completing review questions is a must.

Herzog is very organized and CLASS IS VERY EASY as long as you pay attention, participate, and attend class. He gives the questions to the exams as review questions every chapter and there are online quizzes that are hard to fail. I recommend this class if you are able to put some time to study for the class almost every day.

He's probably the best Bio professor that I ever met. Prof. Herzog is smart, passionate and prepared. He'll give you material to study for exams and make the classes time much more interesting.

Professor Herzog is great! He is very knowledgeable and passionate about microbiology. I don't understand how some of the reviewers could state that he is arrogant and makes you feel stupid when asked questions. I never once had that experience during the whole semester. The study guides are very helpful to get you ready for the exams.

Professor Herzog made Microbiology easier to learn. His study guides are very clear, concise, and helpful! You must be willing to study, really learn the topics rather than memorizing the study guides. He is very meticulous with and during labs, so be careful. He gives bonus points, you'll need them.

Professor Herzog is a great professor. He deeply cares about your understanding and success. He has clear rules during lab so that nobody gets sick from the live microbes. Professor Herzog is really interesting and know his subject. The class cover a lot but he takes time to explain in different way and is always willing to help. The Lab are really fun to do and easy graded. no homework except review sheet for exam. If you take time to answer and review those reviews sheets you will get an A. NO BOOK REQUIRE!

No surprises on exams everything from the study guides. Labs are fun but you must follow instructions. Highly recommend him!

Professor Herzog is awesome!! He is passionate about teaching microbiology, this is not an easy A. If you're taking this class as a prerequisite for nursing school, this is a great class to take. You must understand and be able to answer the questions on the study guides for the exams. Make sure you don't skip class and write notes as he lectures.

He is a very knowledgeable, sweet guy. Be ready to do your own home study if you want a good grade on this class. Exams 3&4 are the most difficult ones of the entire semester. He does give easy quizzes at the beginning of every class and study guides for ALL tests. He is very detailed about the whole course, makes sure students really understand.
