I just want to say that Dr. Parker has made a profound impact on my life, both in this class and Religious Studies. He is a very intellegent and accomplished man. He has earned my respect, as well as the respect of my classmates.

This is a gret teacher. In college every student looks for that one great teacher that is going to push them to become a better person. He is that teacher.

I have really enjoyed this class; I have never had a teacher so passionate about the subject and his students. He has really changed my life, anyone who didn't get anything out of his class isn't really trying. Thanks, Dr.Parker

Dr. Parker is an excellent teacher. Do not expect to take a class under him without being forever changed by it. Though he expects students to learn he realizes that his greatest responsibility is to help you discover what and why you believe.

I have really enjoyed this class.

He is a great teacher. Class can get a bit boring sometimes. He can be one sided on issues to the point it gets on your nerves. His class is not hard at all though. Overall he is a good teacher. You will pass.

He makes the class interesting. He likes to go off on stories, but they usually relate to the material.I had it at 8:00 am so it had to be interesting, ya know? Take notes in class if you want to do well on the tests!!

Dr. P. is a great philosopy teacher. He's fair to all. Just know what you believe in and be ready to support that belief if he calls on you. He keeps it interesting.

Dr. Parker is the best professor that I have had in my 3&1/2 years at UTM. His teaching style is remarkable- he relates the academics to the real world and presents the material very clearly. He goes that extra mile for his students. I have this class at 8:00 and I actually look forward to it.

This was the best class that i have ever had. Parker is a nice man, and he will allow ways for you to raise you grade, and he give extra credit for going to different things around campus...Very good and interesting class!..(p.s...Think 4 yourself!)

This is one of the best teachers on campus. If you are not good at thinking for yourself before you take his class then you will be after you take it. Get ready to support your own views if he calls upon you.

An Ok class, just sit & listen, But can be a very interesting class at times, 130 is better than 120 to me. He tells eveything that will be on test, just take notes, and he usually will have someone to type what he went ovr in class, so you may not even have to take notes. I made and A.

Dr. Parker made the class very interesting. He is somewhat unorganized, but he is so funny. He opens your mind to things that you have never realized and he helps you to understand. I highly recommend taking the class. It is stress free and relaxing.

Dr. Parker was a great teacher. I would highly reccomend him. I went into the class just taking it for credit hours, but now I am going to continue taking his other classes. He give you everything you need to know for a test but, yuou do you have to study, but he gives lots of extra credit and is so helpful in making sure no one fails!

Dr. Parker is a very easy professor to take. He takes his test questions from the notes, and he gives you the notes on blackboard. I was not very interested in this class before taking him, but he has made the class very interesting!

he's a good teacher. the class is sometimes boring, but it's usually material that has at least a little something that will catch your attention. his tests are pretty simple. just look over terms and philosophers at the end of each chapter, and memorize his notes, and you'll do fine. if he had to take another phil class, i would take him!

Dr. Parker is a cool dude, he really cares about his students. Although he does single you out sometimes, it's nothing crucial. Test are generally simple, and all you have to do is participate here and there and you will get an A. This is like a high school class, it's the easiest thing I have ever taken.

He is an understanding person, and is interested in his students understanding other races, cultures, religions, etc. He does oversimplify, and generalize, and his stats on everything havn't been updated in about 15 years. As others said, he does single-out people. Some get discouraged, but its meant to help understanding, and he means no harm.

He was such a wonderful teacher. He was very helpful and I learned sooooo much from his class. He used real life situations to help students understand. He is a very nice guy! He has someone sit at the front of the class & type is notes. On the first day of class, volunteer to do that because he's a great man to use as a recommendation. He gives a lot of extra credit so take advantage of it! He also curves the grades at the end of the semester. It's a little confusing when due dates are though.

I am a 30 year old freshman with two mixed children. I enjoyed his race & ethics class. I would reccomnd all students take this class. This is more of a life lesson class. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Test are Easy.....He is a professor that teaches the truth, its true that due dates on assignments are confusing but if ur not open minded about how u were raised then u will be offended bc **** tendencies are explioted, he speaks the truth of this country. Black and White.

90% of the test questions are taken right from the notes he posts on blackboard. A few of the questions come from the readings, which he also goes over in class. He also assigns extra-credit for writing essays. I made an A quite easily, anyone else could do likewise.

I think parker is a great teacher. yeah he mainly talks about the black and white race but u get a good understanding of how they treat each other. If ur closed minded and dont want to hear the truth, then dont take him. if u like learning real history then go for it. he can be unorganized at times. the class is easy if u read ur notes.

Love the professor and the class but the tests are hard. You really have to study to keep up. Offers extra credit and there are plenty of chances to bring your grade up. He does allow you to turn in assignments late. I would recommend him, you just have to participate and really try.

i enjoyed his lectures. have you ever heard someone tell a good story well his lectures are like good stories. need to attend class because questions on the test are from his lectures. i have had him for phil110 and 120 my grade is getting better everytime i take him. 3or4 test has 70 questions on it.very interesting person. pay attention in clas

Prof. Parker class was very interesting. He deals with alot of black and white issues that are so common today. He really makes you think about how society views issuess that we take for granted. Test were ok. All of them came from the notes on blk board. Hey take him for a great learning experience.

TAKE HIM!!! He is an awesome philosophy professor. His lectures are really interesting most of the times. Sometimes the class can get boring but he keeps everyone up with his trivia questions and great stories. Lots of extra credit opportunities. If you can be a typer for his notes...great benefits. No hmwk, no quiz.

Dr. Parker is super amazing....He gives tons of extra credit...His test are doable. and he really cares about all the students equally...it has nothing to do with him favoring blacks at all...not a bit....Just study the notes...read the article b/c he takes couple question...but they are easy if you just guess..and i would just skim through the boo

Dr.Parker is one of the coolest realest people I have ever met. He is a great teacher and the best at UTM. He will challenge you to question why you feel the way you do about race,abortion,religion,etc. If you are still holding onto all that mommy and daddy taught you,it will be an eyeopener.If you are a redneck **** you will hate him.Take him!!!

This man changed my life. Don't listen to those that leave negative comments. People who don't like this class generally are people who either a) don't want to do anything or b) are totally closed-minded. He's the best professor I've ever had to this day. He's smart, gives lots of extra credit, and pushes you out of your comfort zone. Amazing!

You will not find a better example of what a teacher should be in a class full of open and closed minds. This class will open pandora's box over and over and you will enjoy every second of it! Best teacher I have ever had. His intelligence is like none I have ever seen before. If you read up on his bio, you'll find that he is probably one of the most successful people you have ever met. He requires books but puts key notes from the book up in class so books are almost irrelevant if you take good notes and pay attention. BEST TEACHER EVER

Not every one like to here the truth . Dr. Parker nice professors and he is telling the truth. Taking the class is fun and you will know a lot about Ethics And Race.

Dr. Parker's course covers material that is relevant and interesting. He draws from a rich history of lived experience. He cares about the progress of each student and works with them to achieve a greater understanding of their own beliefs as well as those of others.

i am a student athlete at UTM and Prof. Parker helped me adjust to whatever i needed in the class. He's a great professor who tells it how it is. take this class!

He's the best teacher in the Philosophy Dept. You learn so much in his class and you will leave each class amazed. TAKE HIM!!! IF you want to actually learn something about life take him. You will not regret it

Dr. Parker is an overall good professor. He may be boring to some people, but the topics are so interesting that I really enjoy the class. You must come to class with an open mind because the topic can cause a lot of conflict at times. The class is extremely easy!

Dr. Parker is a REAL professor who speaks on REAL things going on today far as race and this class will change your life for the better if you're willing to listen and learn and have a open ear and heart. I enjoyed the class and the discussions that we had. You will have to read and take notes to pass exams but it's a clear exam. He's good.

Dr. Parker's Philosophy class, Race & Ethics, is one of the most interesting, inspiring classes I have ever taken. Questions on exams come directly from the books and from lectures. If you read and pay attention, you cannot go wrong. I believe negative reviews on this site are coming from students who might be offended by the truth he speaks.

Class is very interesting! He is very unorganized though, and the only grades are the 3 tests you take which are multiple choice. Always write down any statistics he mentions in class because he puts them on the exams. Study the slides and read the assigned readings and you will do fine!

Easy easy class! Take him of you need an easy course! He is a great professor. I would take this course again in a heart beat! If you just read over your notes you will be good to go for the test. He gives real life situations to go along with the lectures. He's just an overall interesting person! Loved this course!

Dr. Parker is really nice and straight forward. Tests are easy as long as you take good notes and pay attention to what he says during class. He even points out things that will most likely be on the test. Lectures are sometimes annoying because he's disorganized. He tends to add/delete stuff from the powerpoint during the lecture.

Love Dr. Parker! Only gives 4 tests. Have to be in class everyday to do good on the tests, but his lectures are interesting. He's a little unorganized but other than that I don't have any complaints about his class.

Dr. Parker is a very exceptional teacher. He speaks realistically and if you are sensitive or do not want to hear the truth I suggest you not take the class..... no never mind, you should.

Dr. Parker is awesome! His lectures are very interesting and he loves participation. He also likes when students debate/challenge him. He really just wants to challenge your mind. Write down his PowerPoints/statistics and thats whats on the test. EASY A. side note he was on oprah.

Pay Attention to his lectures and you will pass. If you read the books assigned during this class it will help you in mostly all aspects of life meaning in and out of the classroom. He rambles on a lot in lectures, adds slide points as he lectures, and seems to go off topic but EVERYTHING he speaks about in class will most likely be on the tests.
