Great proffesor! After you deliver a speech, he will focus on the positive even if it was less than perfect. He is encouraging and enthusiastic. I definately recommend him.

Good professor, but hard to get a hold of...he is never in his office.

Good Teacher. He is funny and will make you laugh almost every day. Interest and grades fair and doing speeches it does not require a lot from you, just eye contact and organization. Gives you review sheet on whats goin to be on test. GREAT!!

I had never made a speech in English until I took his class. English is my second language, but he gave me enough confidence to speak in front of 500 people earlier this year, in a formal dinner at a Houston restaurant. Thanks Dr. Roubicek! :)

He's a GREAT professor. I really enjoyed being in his class.He helps you out if you need it and grades fair. He also gives you a review before a test.

By far the best professor I have had!!!! He makes it worth waking up for an 8:30am class. He should teach more at sugar land or through itv more.

Ignore the Psych & English ratings below; Dr. Roubicek doesn't teach either class. The Interview class is still in its infancy stages but is likely to be the most useful class you will ever take, and possibly the most fun one, too. Roubicek is as helpful, respectful & good a teacher as you'll find.

A lot of COMM majors take this class but everyone I know who doesn't take it with Roubicek complains about it! He chooses a broad approach, touching on many different topics in Comm Theory, a few in great depth. If you're not sure about what interests you, this is a great intro to Comm Theory.

Dr.Roubicek is the nicest,caring person I've ever come across in my collage career. He's beyond fair and treats each student with respect and holds them in high favor.I wish there where more professors like him. I took his Interviewing & Communication in the class room course.you will makean Aorb

This professor is cool. He gives you a review sheet for each test. We only had to give 2 speeches and he grades you very fairly. I had a good time taking this class Dr. Roubicek really cares about his students... even dumb asses who walk in 30mins late (why come at all?)

He's a really nice professor. He tries to help you out whenever you need it. You'll have to read a lil but mostly pay close attention to him.

Dr. R. is an expert. He has many years of experience with storytelling and still practices the art. He is helpful, creative, knowledgeble, approachable, and extremely positive. His positive nature is most important for this course, which is performance based. He makes no one feel foolish or insignificant. Show up, prepare well, & get an A.

He is the best! He's funny, nice, and very intelligent. He's very dedicated and cares about his students.

He is the best COMM professor! He tells you exactly what will be on the exams, he grades easy, and makes the class as fun as possible :) You won't be disappointed when you take his class!

Best teacher I've had so far! 2 speeches, 3 tests...tells you exactly what to study. Test is half lecture and half book...all written but study the review and make an A. Speeches not until the end of the semester and are fun!

Because of this professor I changed my major to communications! His class consist of 3 test, 2 speeches. Come to class on time, take notes, pay attention, there is no reason why you wont make a A. Attendence is mandatory, and he never misses class! You can miss up to 3 classes, and he lets you make up a test if you have a valid reason! No make ups!

OMG I love this class! This has been my fav class since Ive been in college! He is brilliant, exciting and helpful! He teaches and explains the class wonderfully. You must attend class though you are allowed 3 absences but I guarantee you wont even want to miss class. Take this course I am enrolling in another one of his classes next semester!

I took him for my first semester in college from a Communications credit and I definitly don't regret it. I took Storytelling. It's definitly an easy A if you create your story and express it smoothly depending upon its subject. Don't interrupt him though, he's outspoken.

He is one of the best professors at UHD! I recommend him to anyone who takes a communication class!

He is hands down my favorite professor at UHD. I had him for both storytelling and Comm Theory. Both classes were extremely easy. If you come to class everday, there is no reason you wouldn't pass with at least a B.

This is Dr Roubicek's passion, and you can really tell by the way he teaches his class. He gives excellent feedback that you can carry with you beyond his class. As long as you make the effort, you should be good. I would highly recommend taking his Public Speaking class.

Dr. Roubicek is a very understanding, compassionate, and wonderful teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed his class. Speaking in front of the class is mandatory, but I am not afraid of public speaking so I didn't find this class very challenging- though some others may have. Anticipated an A and received an A. Several stories to tell, midterm, and a final.

What an amazing professor. He really motivated students both for this course as well as for other areas of personal/academic life. I'm sure he's one of the reasons why a lot of UHD students complete their degrees. I loved having him and it's a pity I won't have him more often. Highly recommended.

Great Professor! Applies concepts learned in the book to the real world allowing for us to understand. Gives good reviews for his tests. As long as you try there is no reason not to make at least a B in his class.

Its so many things I can say about Dr. R, but I wouldn't have enough space to tell you how amazing he is. His textbook is a novel he wrote and when I read it I feel like I can hear his voice as I'm reading along. He was the easiest prof. and I wish he taught English so I could take him for the rest of my time here at UHD. He's just that amazing.

I took this course as an U/L electives in the Summer. Given that it was the Summer, and I had no interest in the subject, I was apprehensive but what an amazing course it proved to be! The professor tailors the course to be sensibly paced and fun given that it is offered in a short summer. Very inspirational and helpful outside class too. Take it!!

Walking into Dr. Roubicek's class is like walking into the Best Professor in the Nations classroom. Yeah, he's that good. He teaches interviewing thru simulations and lots of activities. He does things with his students, praises them and is the definition of cool. II swear he is the communications department. And yes, he is extremely hot!!!

Three letters: OMG. Now I know why this course closes in a minute. He is fair, funny, brilliant, creative, and more respected by students than any prof I know. Storytelling is the best course anyone can take. It's not what you might think. It's fantastic! Also Dr. R. is a role model because he is compassionate and kind. He loves his job.

I am over 50 and been in school all my life. Dr. R. Is the most creative, passionate, caring professor I ever had the chance to know. How lucky am I. His teaching methods are so amazingly effective that you even surprise yourself. He has been at Uhd for 35 years and is always excited and fresh. He is fun and youthful and cool.

He won the best teacher this year and did so when he began about 30 years ago. Talk about consistent. Brilliant. inspirtional. Best of the best of the best. Knows his stuff better than anyone on the planet.

He seems to be a tough grader at first, but I've excelled in his class somehow. No homework really, but make sure you have an in-depth knowledge of the material because you will have to demonstrate it in practical assignments.

There are too many great characteristics to list but astonishing covers most of it. This man is the most professional, caring, compassionate and fairest professor I have ever known. Integrity and knowledge are just the beginning. Students matter to him. Period. Prof R lives for giving students a great experience. Always. must have him for a class.

I just got a great job and its because of Dr. R. Everything asked in my interview was anticipated by this professor. Dont listen to your advisors about resumes and cover letters. Listen to Dr. Roubicek. Incredible what he knows. I will miss him more than anyone from Uhd.

If your not afraid to talk in front of a crowd or read in front of the classroom this is an easy A

Professor Roucibek class was fun and straightforward. It is easy and a little bit intimidating if you are not used to public speaking because the assignments are mostly small presentations. Honestly it is not that bad, he is an easy grader and makes it easier for you. Definitely one of the best professors in UHD. I highly recommend taking him.
