Very fun, learned alot, great person!!

Prof. Schissler is a great teacher! I like his style of teaching so much that I took him again this semester even though I don't need the course for my degree! The way he teaches is like he is having a conversation with ya instead of giving verbatum.

very fun class, you'll learn alot and the hour and 20 minute class goes by really fast

if u want a fun class where you show up everyday an u dont have to takea a final hes funny theres a lot of open presentation hes the man plus if u need a easy A hes ur man

He's a very good at opening your eyes to all the unfair stuff that goes on everywhere and that you never took time to think about. His class is fun and it teaches you real life stuff, rather than a lecture that will no affect you in any way. I deffinitely recommend him for this class

Serious about making sure each student learn the topic. He makes his class interesting by sharing the most current local and global happenings. Has a dry sense of humor that adds to the class atmosphere.

Great teacher. Very open about every topic you can think of and is informed regarding just about anything. He's VERY big on participation so go to class everyday.

He's great so easy to understand, if you go to all the classes (do miss 1) you don't have to take the final, it really is a laod of your chest when you have like 4 or 5 other finals to worry about. And the best part is when he assigns sociology papers, he'll take a look at your paper a correct it and tell you what you should add to it or take out of it, before you hand it in to be graded (it really helps)

if u attend every class, pay attention to class discussions, participant once in awhile, and read the book from time to time, u should easily pass the class. No h/w, about 3 writing assignments and that's it. Good class to be in, good teacher.

Pro. Schissler is very interesting and undergoes conversations that make you want to join in. Berfore this class I would not speak out to a large group I would be so nervous that I just stayed in a corner with my head buried now whenever I enter his class there will be a conversation going on that would encourage me to speak up.

Prof. Schissler is a good guy, his class is not hard at all. There are no tests, and only three writing assignments.Sometimes, he goes off topic, but he is good.

this teacher is very nice, understanding, and intresting. As long as you come to class and pay attention you will do well. There is no test in this class only 3 papers I took this class in the summer and it was fun.

I was leary of this class until I took it. Henry was a great teacher and our class discussions were great!!

Ok teacher, knows his stuff, Just go to class, and participate and you should do fine in the class. Easy, but watch out b/c this class doesn't transfer over.

He explains the first day of class, as lognas you do the work and show up everyday, you'll do fine. He has a couple of papers that may seem like a large task, but all in all, they're manageable. Very outgoing, knowledgebale and funny. The only downer is that he really doesn't hand your papers back within a decent time period. But i recommend him

Schissler makes class simple, no HW or projects, and take notes.

One of the Best Soc teachers I ever had. Though papers seem long, if you just do them expressing your opinion well they're no sweat. Great character, funny, outgoing personality. If you want an A or B and actually want to learn something take this class!

its hard to take notes for his class cuz he's all over the place. don't buy the book cuz he has hand outs. just make sure you read them. if you don't wanna take the final then go to every class. most of the he'll let you a few min early. he's very fair with grading. he can get a lil boring at times and u'll be lookin at the clock! i do recomend him

He is by far the greatest teacher i have ever had he mad class very fun and interesting. He respects your point of vies as long as you have a reason for believing that way, if your one of those people who believes a certain thing just because or without reason then you are an idiot. I plan to try to take him every semester that i can.

Very good teacher. I agreee with most of other. Do not but book. I do not like essay take home exams but he did grade & make them relatively easy. If you listen in class, skim over the online notes, your grade will be good.

Prof Schissler is the best sociology teacher you can have at HCC. He knows his information and knows how to teach. He is very fun and just a joy to have. I'm glad my money went to him. Everyone should take him.

Schissler is a really cool, down to earth guy! He's passionate about sociology and it transfers to his students. His class is very laid back and he doesn't ask for much. No homework, two papers. If you attend all classes you are exempt from the final. Awesome man!!

Took him for the Human Sexuality Course, and it was one of the best classes I have ever taken!!! Attendance is not mandatory,if you want to be exempt from finals attend class. 3 Papers to write, take notes, no books necessary. Interesting ideologies of the history! I enjoyed this class! It was fun! He encourages participation for discussion

Professor Schissler is the man! I had him for both Intro to Soc & Human Sexuality and I enjoyed both classes. He makes the classes interesting and always jokes around. Human Sexuality was very low key where he let us talk about whatever was on our minds and express our feelings. If you go to every class, you don't have to take the final. TAKE HIM!

He is funny and the class is easy. There is no homework and no test. The grade is base on a journal -all the notes you take in class, attendance and Participation.

My favorite teacher ever. I like his class so much (Sociology) I wish he wouldn't let us out early.

Very easy laid-back professor. For me, almost too easy. I enjoyed the class topics but wish we went more in depth into the discussions and stayed on topic. No use of the book, so don't waste your money. You'll need a journal to take notes which he grades. Attendance not really mandatory but you should go because the class gets interesting.

Take this class even if you have no interest in sociology! Great teacher, I can't say enough nice things about him. He makes the subject very interesting and he'll have you laughing the whole class. If you go to every class, you're exempt from the final and he let's class out early every time.

Schissler's human sexuality class was so much fun! The discussions are hilarious. The class itself is very easy, only a few assignments and rarely cracked open the book.

Take this class! Great & hilarious teacher! Interesting to learn. He's always up for discussions because class discussions are enjoyable! Take the notes that he writes on the board in every class. No hwk & 3 tests in class (his questions & you write your own examples). If you go to every class, you dont have to take exam. Class finishes early!

Schissler is the man! very helpful teacher, he explain things until they are clear to you. Ive had him for Soc*101 and i have him right now for Human Sexualty. He is very nice, funny and makes the class fun! If you attend every class you wont have to take his final exam!! (thats always a plus) Over all good teacher, u'll enjoy him, I am!

Contrary to the previous post, I found the sociology class to be pretty darn interesting, and not at all a waste of my time. He's a great (but unconventional) professor.

Shissler is cool. He didn't show up to class like 4 or 5 times and all his papers are free thought. I love not having to site. Take his class. You will love it!

I took this guy for an intense winter course. Easiest class I've ever taken. He's clear and answers any questions. He's funny and normally doesn't assign homework. if you get a bad grade on a test he'll help you or let you make it up, he's not there to fail anybody, he likes teaching

Henry is an all around great guy. He does have trouble staying on topic but don't worry, you'll get an A! He is always willing to give you extra-credit for academic advising too! Honestly, an easy A. 1 paper-like thing and the quizzes are a piece of cake.

Henry is one of the best Professor's I've ever had the pleasure of taking. His course is what you make of it and as long as you go you'll get an A. He is extremely helpful in and out of the classroom he knows everybody and everything at Housatonic. He is also just a wonderful person to talk to. Please take this Professor.

Class was very easy. Professor is hilarious and lenient best class I've taken in my three years of college, very relaxed. If you show up every day to class you are exempt from the final. This class is an easy A !! Don't buy text book either he doesn't use it.

This teacher was super easy. funny talks and you really have to participate to get a good grade, even if youre doing bad on the tests.. dont have to take final if you come every class.. this class i did not need to worry about. take this teacher!!! you get extra credit for little things.. etc

The best professor to have for Sociology. Explains what you need to do in order to pass the class. If you show up to every class you don't have to take the final. If you participate, you would probably get a good grade in the class. There is no midterm in the class, instead there is another assignment and only one quiz you take.

I took him for Sociology, aced all the assignments and participated a few times but am a super anxious person so it wasn't a great amount. In the end that bit my grade down by a whole letter, and I didn't want to have a disingenuous convo for the sake of points. I enjoyed his lectures, lots of passion in them. Overall fun class.

Class has no real structure but he is an easy A, as long as you don't miss a class you wont need to take the final. If you participate with the discussions you get full participation points. His quizzes are multiple choice but you need to know the definitions he gives you verbatim or you wont pass the tests.
