He is a good teacher, very helpful, and motivates you to better yourself for the future.
He dropped my failing midterm and I got a B+ for the course. :) Exams are hard. But his grading system is very flexible. Overall he is not that hard. Improve on the final and get midterm dropped. Know your Algebra.
Exams are mad hard.But he gives big curves. I flunked the midterm and still got a A- after showing improvement on the final. If you fail his class, it means you did ultra bad.Here is a tip:Don't be absent.His style is hard test and big curves.I recommend.
Class is easy if you are good with math (+,-,*,/).He likes to give quantitative problems. He tells a few jokes to keep ppl awake on a Friday night course (4 hours). B+ is guaranteed if you show effort. I didn't do homework :( got A-.

Midterm has some simple math problems.Final was fill in the blanks. Both open book/notes. Lenient grader. Wish he teaches another another course. Replies email quick.
Open book exam rocks. Piece of a cake.
Here is a tip. Go to his classes and take good notes. Sometimes he throws in a tip for the exams.
Go to class and listen carefully. He talks about examples of the tests. It turns out some of them are the actual questions. You will miss it if you don't pay attention.

Funny in class, keeps it interesting. He brings real world experience to class. He kinda looks like the Hong Kong actor Lai Ming too.

spends the first hour of the class doing nothing, then makes us do work from the textbook. does very little actual teaching. funny guy, but a bad teacher. unless you are a computer whiz already, expect this class to be very tough.

This guy...he can't teach at all. We mostly just talk about things in class. He doesn't follow the textbook. He expects us to copy down what he says. There is nothing to study with except your notes. If you are a TS major don't take him. Waste of your time, better off reading the textbook. Probably plays favors too.

This Prof is great, especially for those interested in this field. Test are easy, the work loads are not as bad as people make it seem. You'll spend more time on the project if anything, but it is a HANDS ON course. You'll get a good grade for doing the work! And he's far from boring.
Maybe 4 hours of actual lecture the whole semester. Completely unprepared. Course description is completely deceiving- no hands on at all and doesn't prepare you for A+ cert. He talks about random stuff. Gets paid to pretend to teach. On the upside he lets you out early. You pay a lot to learn nothing and it is not even an easy class.

Professor Wong is rude, condescending, and incompetent. I went to tutors every week to teach this course to myself since he was clearly incapable of doing so himself. He has no control over his class and makes absolutely no effort to teach the material. Whenever I went to him for help he treated me like an idiot. This professor is a waste of time.
Easy A. He loves to go off topic. If there's an issue, he responds quickly (hence the numerous e-mails). He's not a bad guy, he just doesn't have a great teaching strategy. Don't expect to walk in, do nothing and get an A. Pretend to like the topics. If you can't put in the effort to do the simple assignments & discussions, you shouldn't get an A.
I highly recommend AGAINST this professor. It's probably about halfway through the class now and he's taught next to nothing. He leaves us to do the tutorials by ourselves in order to learn, acts condescending and rude when asked a question. Very frustrating class, DO NOT TAKE. May be a requirement, but don't torture yourself with this.

Take him. a good professor overall..does get off track sometimes but not a big issue.
NEVER TEACHES! all he talks about is Doctor Who! we literally sit there for 2 hours when he only spends 10 minutes teaching! he never stays on topic, pretty rude.
He expects all of his students to come to his class knowing how to do the lessons before he teaches them. He gets frustrated easily. He's strict with attendance. He's not too friendly either. Definitely AVOID him! Trust me.
I absolutely hated going to this class every week, he didn't help with any question you may have over the lesson, he'll just tell you it was discussed in class. Talked about Dr Who all the time and wasted 2 hours of my life every single week. Completely stupid and hated that it was mandatory to graduate.
Horrible teacher but can easily pass with an A if you pay attention. Homework can be a little tricky, but its doable. He LOVES dr. who and doesnt stop talking about it. he makes me laugh!
I took his CIS 101 class this semester. I heard that this class was a pain, but this teacher made it nearly impossible. You can barely understand him, but that didn't matter much considering his classes consisted of him playing tutorial videos that were equally difficult to follow. The avg grade was a D. I implore you not to take this class.
His teaching style-if you can call it that-consists of him playing tutorial videos in class and expecting us to glean everything we need to know from them. Were he to be willing to expand upon these videos, I wouldn't feel so ripped off by Pace university for hiring such a "professor"; however, all questions are met frustration and condescension.

Professor Wong's Introduction to Computing class is unlike others in that you are required to complete much more work, yet still learn the same, if not less, material comparatively. To receive anywhere close to a B+ in this class, you are expected to write a substantive discussion board post -at least- once a day for 5 days a week. Not okay.
Teaches based on YouTube videos which he makes himself and the background music to the videos is classical music which makes you fall asleep gives daily homework on black board no office hours a lot of people drop his CIS 121 class . Also does not care if you have a MacBook your screwed because he will tell you to figure it out on your own
Word professor of my freshman year, his teaching is awful, his way of teaching is awful, and I just couldn't stand having to come to this guy's class.
Professor Wong's 2 hour class consists of very heavy lecturing. He also makes the class watch his youtube video tutorials which are very tedious and annoying. The weekly homeworks are easy and straight-forward. The weekly discussion board questions are annoying because he grades us on how quickly we answer them and how many posts we submit.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS This guy is a pathetic excuse for a teacher. He shows torturous video tutorials instead of actually teaching. Every tutorial has the exact same music. Extremely strict on assignments. Makes you write paragraphs on the discussion board every day or you're screwed. He thinks he's funny when he's just rude. 0/10. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
He gives too much homework and is unclear about what he wants from your weekly discussion board: when you follow the minimum requirement for the discussion board which is supposed to give you a grade of 85, he still does give you the grade you deserve
This professor is probably one of the worst professors I've ever had, asynchronous computing class mind you HE KNOWS everyone is struggling at this time but still decides to fail students even if you say personal things. Professor does not care for anything and is plain rude. avoid him at all costs.
Honestly dont do it. I hated that class!!! He doesnt teach like at all. He only shows his videos he took back in like the 1800s from YouTube. If you know nothing of excel and python switch your teacher immediately. Not great for first year students at all!! I can say he wasnt hard on due dates except for discussions. Still, immediately no!!!!!!
Avoid!!! Spends class time telling anecdotes to show how great he is. His communication is poor, assignments are not clearly defined, he doesn't offer office hours(he got annoyed when I asked). if you get stuck in this class, try to support every deliverable link to the book or lecture showing that you followed the template exactly.
Typical Asian professor. Lots of homework, presentation, and plenty of requirements. He likes to show off his achievement. He showed the messages sent from his student on Linkedin, appreciating his teaching about "agile" in terms of how important "agile" is. He did this many times, and I don't understand the point.

Before class, I read Rate My Professor reviews and felt nervous, but after taking it, I found them untrue. The capstone course isn't easy; it requires time and effort. However, the professor grades generously if you work hard. It covers full SDLC and emphasizes Agile, which aligns with real-world practices I experienced during my internship.
If you're sincere and committed to your work, he's very easy-going. His grading is fair, and the guidelines and feedback are clear and helpful, with many references for project deliverables. You'll learn to incorporate agile methodologies effectively. Classes are engaging with good analogies, quick email responses, and real-life industry examples.
This course is not for freeloaders. You will learn a lot in the course. He helps you get connected with his former students for your job search. He invited his former Amazon as guest speaker. At the end of the semester, he takes a photo of the class and promotes the class on LinkedIn. He wants you to think he is hard when he is not.He is the best.
All these reviews are super misleading. He is actually a great professor. He will always hear you out if you are genuine. He is not mean at all. His lectures are never boring either, there is always something interesting, I promise.
Ignore the reviews calling him scary. He's not. He's just not here for freeloaders. Do the work, enjoy the jokes, and get your class photo featured on his LinkedIn.
This is the only course I took in which everyone in the team contributed to the project. All the freeloaders and folks who can't code went to the other professors LOL. I wish there were a CS692 course for our team to continue working on the project for another semester. He invites guest speakers from Google, Amazon, Dell and Comcast to the class.
He had us build a group wiki.We all thought it was useless. Later on the wiki helped our whole team to get job.Ppl in our team presented our wiki to show our agile process during the interview n it help us get hired.If u want to find a job, take his class. Every1 in the team knew how to code.All non-coders went to the other section. LOLOL. Awesome
