I took him years ago (2000) and he was very unfair. It was an online class and I would never take his class again. Tried to meet with him several times but was unhelpful and wanted nothing to do with me. He definetely has his favorites. Horrible.

Very disorganized online. He might be a great instructor in the classroom, but online he would not respond to the students. I emailed him various times and he never responded. I asked him for my grade or how I was doing in the class and he never answered. I finally got a grade from webadvisor and sadly, I received a B.

Took online class and he is not very helpful.Very rude when his students ask questions.Lots of work, and is never clear.Takes forever to grade papers.Sometimes puts the wrong answer on a test and asks "well what do you expect me to do about it" when you confront him on it. Hard to understand and get a hold of. Highly recommend taking someone else.

This has got to be the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. I took him online and only had two assignments all semester. Midterm and final. I was worried about not having work and I emailed him multiple times with no responses. By the end of the semester, I was missing 500+ points from missing homeworks that were not available.

Took accounting with him, very disorganized doesn't follow syllabus, changes his mind on point value and when things are due. Gave an online homework option, that was extra money then decided to stop using it half way through the semester. 45 students started out 12 remained and only 3 passed. A very fickle teacher, you don't know what to expect.

Don't take. Has no idea what a hybrid class means. He will randomly add extra question from the next chapter. When the entire class gets them wrong, he responds "you shouldve read ahead!" Don't even bother trying to correct him, he will take it personally in his bullheadedness. He may know econ, but he does not know teaching.

Is always in a rush. DOes not take the time to make sure student undertstand the material. Test/Quizes Very Hard

Terrible teacher. He was inconsistent in his directions, would not respond to questions, and took an extremely long time to input grades. Do not take his class!

Horrible teacher. Lectures are confusing and unclear. Only 4 students finished class. He is very fickle, changes his mind on a whim. Ex. he approved the online companion but changed his mind after we spent the money). On the final, he told us there would be six free response questions, instead there were 10. Never know what to plan for. Avoid!

Henry Young is the worst possible individual to teach an online class. Not only is he completely incapable of executing a course effectively; his ability to communicate is non-existent. I have email evidence of this along with images of his inability to actually GRADE your midterm and FINAL. He also gave the final approx. 24hrs BEFORE it was DUE.

Horrible online professor! Does not follow syllabus, posts assignments/exams late, does not grade assignments(went the whole 16 weeks without getting ANY grades/feedback). Does not make announcements when posting assignments/exams late. The work is easy but you have to check the site several times a day to make sure he didn't post anything new.

I have taken this teacher online multiple times only because he is the only teacher available with my schedule. He is the worst teacher I have ever taken. He does not get back to you and I have tried to schedule meetings but has never responded. Told me to wait but has never got back to me. He changes due dates and isn't a teacher in my opinion.

Worst professor ever. Doesn't teach. Knows his stuff but can't teach it. Not good for this subject matter. Lectures are more about his life experience than him teaching or instructing. Disorganized. Failed me on a test because he didn't give me the last page of the test. Defensive when you ask questions. Don't do it!

Terrible communicator. Takes a week plus to get back to any question asked and is rude in his replies. Took online Micro-Econ and it was the worst online course experience I've ever had. I truly contemplated contacting the dean after the experience I had with him. Overall an extremely poor professor, worst I have ever encountered. Would give 0's

In my opinion, Henry Young is one of the worst professors at VVC. His teaching method is just awful. Throughout the whole class period, he babbles on about pointless things not referring to financial accounting, doesn't go over material on the test, and is extremely rude. If you actually want to learn and pass, don't take his class.

Terrible teaching method . He enjoys showing off and impressing his students by running his mouth and filling the board with crap that only he can understand , and quickly erasing it. His quizzes cause students to fail instead of learn . He grades essays without reading half of them and assigns whatever he feels . 10% passed our class .

The class wasn't that hard as long as you complete assignments, but be prepared to write a long term paper that he won't thoroughly read or grade. He's unresponsive to emails no matter how urgent and he doesn't seem to care about the well being of his students. I do not recommend his courses. He was also a bit snippy in the emails he did reply to.

He is not focused. He spent more time speaking about what a good student does to pass a class, rather than teach the material needed for the class. If you email he won't respond, even if he does he is rude, narcissistic, and sarcastic. He draws random boxes around words with arrows pointing to nothing and thinks he is giving a good lecture.

Rambles on about stuff that does not apply to the class or the test. Read the book for 90% of the info. Hard to get a reply to an email but he does eventually and I find him to be unprofessional in tone and attitude. Save your self and don't take the class. Read the other reviews I don't have to read them as I'm sure they'll match. Take online clas

I took Econ online with this professor, and I do not recommend it. Professor Young relied heavily on the Cengagebrain Aplia program to do the teaching. He offered powerpoints for 3 out of the 21 chapters. Professor Young also takes time responding to emails. It is hard to get an A in his class mainly because he takes time responding to emails.

Henry Young is sporadic and unethical, relies on aplia to teach his online classes, will make you spend hours on discussion boards that he will not read before grading poorly, changes due dates depending on his mood, will promise one thing and do another, and will grade your 12 page term paper VERY poorly within 30 minutes of not reading it.

Everything I've taken from this class I've learned from my own study, and nothing from the Professor himself. His lectures are wasted time, not discussing enough of the material during class time. The board becomes a mess of graphs,leaving the class completely adrift. I simply wanted to learn, and ended up with endless frustration. Don't recommend.

Bad experiences with professor Young. Took his online course over the summer going into my freshman year & he never replied to his emails because vacation is apparently more important than a student's success. Also got dropped from the MyEconLab on the day of the final & he did nothing to help me out despite holding A throughout the course.

He dropped me after the first week of class of online without any warning of any kind. It made me sad because I just paid for the Aplia, so there goes 130$ for one time use code. The reason why I didn't take his class in person was because I have sat through his lectures before and they always confuse more than help.

currently taking his hybrid class - what he does is tell you something will be due one day then puts it up online to be due sooner. AS IF HIS CLASS IS THE ONLY CLASS YOU ARE TAKING. he piles on the work. you learn from the book, all he does is sketch some graphs as examples on the board in class. ridiculous

He will not try to help you if you do not understand the material even if you ask. I was dropped of his classroom after the first week of class without warning.

All I can say is don't waste your time or your money. Unless this is the only class you have and you have all the time in the world to make this class your life you will not pass!

I would highly recommend him online but if any other professor teaches the class then take the other professor instead of Professor Henry Young. It's like taking a master course in Economics!

I would highly not take him but if you need the class then take him online or with a different professor. He's difficult professor to work with and you will literally begin the master course in Economics.

I have the SECRET to acing his lecture course. Buy the book with online code and every time you finish reading a section (ex 1.1), work on the online practice problems. Continue to work on the online problems for every chapter until you basically memorize them! Also, show up to class on time, call him professor, ask questions and look engaged!

He is inconsistent in his grading, and refused to explain how he came up with my final course grade.

Professor Young repeatedly administered quizzes/exams with material not covered in lectures and absent from the text. He would vaguely allude to concepts and expect students to be able to display full comprehension of said concepts before they had the opportunity to ask questions or clarify any confusion. If you can avoid this class, DO SO!

The class was super hard, not because of the content, but because of how he grades on a scale that is really unclear. I would receive almost perfect scores on his tests, yet I ended up with a C. I also did good on his papers , yet I still managed to get a bad grade. I should be thankful though, as most people that take his class fail.

He threw a 45 minute temper tantrum that included accusations of racism because I believed that we had a test one class earlier than scheduled (after he implied it would be early). His lectures were often more about his personal experiences than accounting and he quizzed on material he hadn't covered. Take online if you can.

In all honesty, hes a very tough Professor. Unfortunately even after taking the class I feel like I didnt learn much. His lectures are little to no help when it comes to his tests. I was a business major going into this class now Im changing it because of how discouraged I felt after it.

I took Professor Young for Econ 101 online. He is very sarcastic when answering emails. He deducts points on discussion boards for no reason. It sucks that he is the only professor offering Econ 102 I will make sure to take my Econ 102 at Barstow Community college instead.

When I started this year I was excited that Ill be getting my associates degree and complete VVC in 2 years. Ive taken all the general education in the 1st year and was imagining how fun it would be to take the classes Im actually interested in. But I took his class within my first quarter and my hopes and dreams are shattered

The worst professor at VVC. He would not respond to most emails. When he does, he would answer very vaguely. He had been telling students to use MLA for research papers till my ECON101, which I challenged him of using APA. At the same time, he said he was getting his doctrine. In ECON102, he started telling us to use APA. Stay away if possible.

I got to the end of this class with a 82% & my tests bumped up my grade to a 89%. Yet he gave me a D,I messaged him about it and he said he never makes mistakes but he gave me a C, I didnt mind to much as long as I passed but then on the last day of grade submissions he gave me an F. I tried talking to the Dean but the professor had erased evidence

All I can say is that his class is difficult. Period. I would say more, but I don't want my review to be eliminated.

I took Econ 102 online & it was one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. This was the first C I've ever gotten in my life, & I'm a 4.0+ HS student. Prof. Young does not teach you at all, was unclear about assignments, randomly assigns a ton of hw, & grades harshly. My class started out with 40+ people & ended with 6. Take this class elsewhere!

He teaches about half the material you need if you're lucky, if you need his class then read the book. He changes things in his class going against his own syllabus despite how strict he is for other things. Clearly holds his students to a higher level then himself. The rest is stuff I can't post. If possible, take the course anywhere else.

This professor is just a no. I was skeptical about the reviews students left regarding this professor. So I took him myself . NOPE. Everyone is right. Lectures nothing to do with test or hw . Youre basically teaching yourself, I dropped it . VVC needs to get their stuff together and get more Econ professors.

Prof. Young is the worst teacher I have taken ever. He did not teach at all. He had no lectures, notes were screenshots of the book adding no additional help, he responded sarcastically to emails and the final is a 15 page paper from work you taught yourself. He does not care for students and making things worse he is the only teacher. DO NOT TAKE!

Professor Young was extremely inaccessible. His instructions were unclear and poorly worded. His powerpoint slides were ineffective, neglecting many key concepts throughout the course. I highly suggest using the textbook as your main medium of learning. However, because this course was online, it is easy to configure to your individual schedule.

Its rather unfortunate that he is the only business professor on campus, he is a nice guy, but his teaching methods are unclear, he uses class time to show us stuff that is in his notes then expects us to understand it immediately.... this was INTRODUCTION TO ECON!!

Mr. Young doesn't word his assignments well and it's hard to get a hold of him. He doesn't give any lectures and just had us read all the material and take a test on it. If I hadn't paid for the textbook I would've dropped the class and taken a different one.

I tried to email him for clarification on a graded assignment. I miss a question and he just said to read the book... it was really disheartened, especially when his "lectures" are so horrible... you really do have to teach yourself.

Truly awful. He hardly responds to emails, his grading system is weighted by two things: discussion and literally everything else which is idiotic. The absolute worst professor I've encountered at VVC in my years of taking classes. He never responds to emails or takes weeks to respond. I am currently taking his class and it is horrible. Worst grade I have ever received in a class. I'm a math and science major, I usually get an A's, but in this class, I'm not going to. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
