He's way easy but he goes over the same stuff over, & over, & over... oh yeah, and you have to go to class. he takes attendance.

Tests are easy since he tells you what to study for on the class day before the exam. Those interested in studying to be a the**** will find his classes helpful. Uses analytical approach to support lectures and examples.

In distance classes, watch the last video where he gives the review. watch the tapes and look for what he writes on the overhead, those are the answers. kind of gets off topic but knows what he is talking about. good guy

This guy is pretty funny. Yeah, he gets off topic sometimes but the lectures are informative and the small books you have to read are great reading material. Those that think he is not good are not psych majors.

Fun lectures and he lets you know what is on the tests. Painless class with great readings: He, She and We. Short and easy to read books!

TAKE HIM!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! Very interesting Jungian psychologist. Readings are very interesting & you pay attention in lecture you will do well. Writing every week(9) but only 1-3 pages & only 2 tests! This is my 2nd class w/ him & will take more!

Has to be the best teacher I have ever had. He has got awesome stories about everything under the sun. Great person and always wants to see the best in his students. The more effort you make the better you end up!

He is soo smart. Love his tape lectures, I have learned so much! On line class has 3 xams. Half from notes written on overhead which are short answ. and half from the book which are m/c. have to read 3 very small novels. and 3 xtra credits bump grade from B+toA- watch movie write paper /write poem.

I've taken Agan for Child Development, Cultural Psyc, Problems of Normal Life & Gender. He's a very caring person & he's extremly helpful and supportive. But don't think that's just because he's nice you're gonna ace his class; you earn your grade & he gives plenty of oppurtunities for extra credit.

Great Professor just make sure you pay attenetion to his lecures - he makes his exam reviews very detailed so if you pay attention you will do great in his classes.

make sure you write down everything he has on paper-especially if you take the class on videotape. read what he tells you to read, PAY CLOSE ATTENTION. if you do, you'll get an A.

One of my favorites so far. I've had him for cultural psych and problems of normal life...if you took notes and did the work (cult. psych) it was an A. I very much recommend this prof...he's a cool guy.

In addition to what everyone else says, if you're taking the course via distance ed--for each Exam, start with the lecture with the exam review first. That way, you will know what to take notes on as you watch the lectures, as well as what you need to highlight in the book. Great professor, interesting class. You'll learn lifeskills in this one!

awesome teacher, fun class. you present once a semester, everyday we watch a 20 minutes video and then a few students present their article. a very relaxed class. its just a huge group talk. only one essay a week, no tests, but one big essay at the end.

If you ever saw the special with Ted Koppel (TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE). This is exactly how I would describe Dr. Agan. He teaches you life skills along with his lecture. His is an excellent professor. If you want to grow as well as learn I suggest you register for any class the teaches.

agan was the best prof i had in my first year at UH, it will be one class you look forward to going to, he takes attendance but it doesnt really mean much to him, it gives him a chance to address everyone in class and get to know the students, do the papers and the term paper and expect an A

Psyc of Gender (on Ch. 8) - great easy class, he is a trip sometimes! 3 tests and he gives you what info to review. only prob was when i went to watch the dvds the library had (cuz my vcr messed up), someone stole certain lessons and there are no backup copies.

Took the DVD class and got an A. Basically take good notes for the short answer part on test. He gives a thorough review before the test. Do buy the book bc M.C. questions come from it. Allows you to do lots of extra credit. Just do not get behind on DVD and you will do fine.

Dr. Agan is BY FAR one of the most important people who will cross your path on your personal journey called life. Aside from the material learned, which is so important for understanding & appreciating the fullness of one's experience, he touches a part within the soul that changes you forever. Basics: He sells the book used for the weekly readings and opinion/summary papers, which are easy. There were 2 tests, both of which he gave the answers and questions to in the previous class. Easy stuff, and still offers extra credit. He's a really interesting professor, one of the best. TAKE THIS GUY!!

He's a great guy and the material is very interesting. Tests are not that easy though. I got an a- but only by doing extra credit. I studied A LOT for the tests and watched all the tapes but the tests were still giving me a hard time on the multiple choice. But it's still an interesting class to take as psyc elective!!

I took the online class and it was a breeze. 9 total essays, your lowest one dropped and two test in which all the answers are given to you through the videos, all you have to do is memorize it. I would wake up at 7 the day of and take the test at 10 and be out in 30 minutes. Great teacher and I highly recoomend.

Interesting lectures on his DVDs. There were 3 tests, 20 multiple choice questions, and 8/9 short answers. He reviews before every test. Extra credit opportunity available. I'd like to take another class with him.

This teacher is my fave. Prof Agan is very helpful and student friendly. I took gender via tape pur. He makes the class interesting. The textbook (plus the very short stories/myths:He, She & We)are NOT boring. This class really helped me understand men and women better. Best of all, you always know what is on the exam.

I took his VIDEO classes. His lectures CAN be interesting... he sometimes talks too much about a specific topic. Sometimes it's interesting, and sometimes it's not. The textbook is boring and redundant, but the assigned books are VERY INTERESTING. Watch the videos and read the books. It should be an easy A.

Herb is great - this is from a long ago student. One of the best experiences was his jung center course - this is where he shines; it's his venue. Enjoy - try it.

The essays are cake, just be sure to include what they want and make sure they are lengthy. For the tests, he will let us know the exact questions on the test for review... VERY fun class! the class was ok. cultural psychology is alot easier cuz you don't need a book to look up multiple choice answers. if you can get ahold of the answers of the multiple choice cuz it takes forever to look up the answers sometimes, you'll be golden.

I took both of his classes. If you are good at memorizing you will make an A. But don't take this class for the grade.. take it because you will actually learn something that will change the way you view the world, yourself, and other people. The cultural class should be mandatory for anyone going into management.

Dr. Agan is a great instructor who really wants you to learn and question things in your life. I took his online Cultural Psyc class and it was very educating. Do all your essays and memorize the questions for the exam and you will get an A.

You have to watch all the lectures and make good notes. What he writes, you write. Make sure you can answer his essay questions on your own and not skim through it. I took his online class, and it was an easy A. He goes over a review before the exam, and if you have that filled out you're guaranteed an A. Seriously. Only thing is I wish I had his class in person. Judging from his video lectures, it looks like it would've been a great class to actually attend. Easy A for an advanced (3000/4000) level course.

Easy grade if you can memorize the two tests that he gives you the answers to. He does not teach any psychology, he researches you to write a book on. I did not learn anything from him other than cultures are different and I should stick to mine.

Took Dr. Agan's online class and loved it. He makes the lectures fun and interesting. Had to read 4+ articles every week and write a 3 page essay over one each week, 2 short answer tests (he gives reviews for each). Overall Dr. Agan was an excellent professor, very knowledgeable and helpful. Learned a lot and definitely recommend taking his class!

I LOVE Dr Agan, the readings are interesting and so are his lectures. He takes time to email you about event outside of class, and even organizes an extra credit trip to the holocaust museum. He responds to emails quickly. You have to go on campus for 2 exams, but he stays after and talks to all the students, you can tell that he really cares.

This is my favorite teacher! He is so funny and nice. His class was only easy because he made it interesting and fun to learn. You have to read and write papers and you do have a midterm and final exam, you also have one presentation to do. If you do not take this class then you are missing out big time!

PYSC 2344 is a great class with Professor Agan. I had taken the online class with exams on Saturdays (3 exams.) He gives you the exam questions ahead on his youtube videos. The weekly writing on the articles are easy if you do it. It was one of the easiest classes I have taken and the most interesting.

Super easy class. There are 3 tests, non cumulative. No Essay! In the last two lectures of each section, he gives you the questions he'll ask on the test. no surprises! the m/c are from the textbook and the short answer are from the lectures. I'd say it's impossible to get anything less than a B.

Okay, so I was going to be a business major until I took his class, and I'm now going to major in psychology (although I was on the fence anyway). An absolutely fantastic professor! Attendance is not mandatory, but I actually enjoyed attending. Lots of passion in his teaching, you'll get to know his life story and learn things applicable to life.

I barely went to class but the entire class is based on 3 tests that he gives you the answers to if you attend lecture. pretty easy, find a study group and you'll do fine

Literally, all you have to do is go to class. The man goes over everything you need for the test and his lectures are fun and entertaining. Could do without some of the films, but this man is wonderful and hilarious. Your grade is composed of three exams, and he goes over them in class vertebrata. Need I say more?

Dr. Agan is quite a character. He is a great teacher and has many stories to tell. In class you will mainly have discussion and watch documentaries. There is a weekly optional presentation for extra credit. There is also a weekly essay, grader can be a little tough. There are 2 tests and study material are on online lectures.

This is a very easy class and Prof. Agan practically gives you the test as long as you attend class.

Dr. Agan is a nice professor and a funny one too. His lectures are not super boring as he talks passionately about them and makes humorous remarks towards them as well. He uses a lot of real life examples of psychology especially from his life, but they're great and he's a pretty funny and approachable guy.

Best professor there is for intro to psychology. He gives you the questions and the short answers (with the answers) to all three well beforehand. He talks about real life experiences and is sure to make you laugh with the humor he adds in. Take this professor and do the extra credit. This was the first class on my schedule as a freshman. I immediately loved that he integrated his personal stories into his material. He's the kind of man who legitimately cares for you as a person more than a student. He is willing to help clarify and help you understand the material in depth. I came to class to hear him speak rather than pass.

I had this professor for my basic psychology class. He integrated stories from books and articles he has read throughout his lifetime as well as personal experiences and even videos into his lectures. He makes it feel like a class you can really relate to. If you write down what he writes on the board and memorize it, you will pass the class.

take this online class! do the easy 10 1 1/2 - 3 page long essays and two tests where you show up to UH and get a good grade! you can literally listen to the lectures the week before the test and memorize the review he goes over. even though this class is almost effortless you do learn things you will use for the rest of your life. wise prof

This professor was by far one of my favorites. He really cares about actually learning the material and the concepts behind the historical assumptions made by previous researchers in the psychology field. If you have a question and he has time, he will stick around for you and explain it in depth.

Absolutely amazing professor. I am now deeply intrigued by psychology and Dr Agan is the best professor or teacher I've ever had. He gives truly amazing lectures each class that I actually WANT to attend. I always leave class with some deeper understanding of myself and feeling refreshed. Best professor I've had. If you show up to the lectures, they are very good and he talks about himself a lot. He gives the questions in class for the exams as a way to make you come to class, but if you search "Agan Exam _" on Quizlet, the questions and answers are there for you to study. Great professor if you are going to go to class or not.

Best Professor I've ever taken. 18 online videos (1 1/2 hours long) Gives out test questions so students can focus on learning rather than getting anxious over the test. Grader was a bit tough though.... But you will slowly realized that the knowledge you learned from this class is worth more than getting an A. I took all of his classes btw!

Prof. Agan is great. Had him for online Cultural Psyc and he reviews what is going to be on the test in the video right before the test. The test is exactly like the review. The graders grade sort of hard, but make sure you read the feedback they give on your weekly essays so you don't make the same mistakes. Easy A. Prof. Agan is pretty funny.

Dr. Agan is an awesome professor. Show up to class (not mandatory) because he gives test questions! Class was enjoyable because he shows clips of movies as examples for the lessons and gives students handouts simply so that they can find out more about themselves.

Don't waste your money on the textbook. Gives you the questions that are on the tests. He tells lots of personal stories and relates them back to the lesson (kinda). Don't use your phone is his class.

He gives out word for word test questions almost every lecture, so make sure you dont skip class or you'll have to 1) make really nice friends 2)Know the dark dark web. It's such an easy class and his lectures are nice to listen to, but he gets off track a lot talking about his life then 10 mins later you end up watching random videos on youtube

He's a great professor who really cares about what he is teaching! I recommend if you have the chance to take him take his class! He gives all the test questions in his lectures so there is really no reason you cant get an A. He is really against using cellphones in class so make sure you stay off them or he'll stop giving the test questions!

This class is super easy. There are 3 tests( 30% each and all multiple choice) and an online SONA survey/research thing worth 10%. All the tests are online and he gives you the questions in class. He doesn't allow phones or laptops during lectures. Just remember to use quizlet to study for the tests.

Agan is great, and very interesting to listen to. He gives you the test questions to the three tests that compose your grade. You don't have to go to class, but if you don't you may not get the questions. He doesn't really have a clear guideline when it comes to his lectures. He strays off topic to things that have nothing to do with the class.

I think majority of students take this class assuming it's an easy A just because he gives out the questions on the exams. It's true that he does but he doesnt word them verbatim as he gives them to you, he expects you to actually read the book and understand the answers. Great professor, is entertaining in the videos but I wanted to just get the information and finish so watching the videos were very tedious. There are 10 essays, he drops 1. He gives a ton of extra credits as well. The tests consisted of knowing what he wrote down in class and is easy to remember bc they are relatable to life.

This class can be an easy A if you attend all lectures. He gives at the end of the lectures the questions for the exam and your only homework is to read the textbook to find the answers. I got a B because I am not good at memory for the exams. The tests are 30 Multiple choice and 6 open questions. NO FINAL!!

We had weekly essays over the reading material, but it was not overwhelming. Allowed students to be more invested in discussion over different cultures, stereotypes, and issues. It was a very fascinating class. It made me more self-aware of different processes, made me more sympathetic, and more observant of the world around me. Would take again.

Dr. Agan was hands down my favorite professor first semester of freshman year. His lectures were extremely interesting and he's just genuinely such a good and caring person. Your grade depends on 3 exams and SONA credits. His tests are fairly easy, as long as you study the material. He's seriously amazing and I would definitely take him again!

It is a fairly easy class, there are 3 tests each worth 30% and SONA credits worth 10%. Basically, if you show up to class and take notes you can pass because he gives you all the questions on the test. He's a great lecturer and very interesting, would definitely take him again!

This is by far the best professor to take. He gives the questions for the exam in class. So you need to make sure to never miss class. If you're worried about buying the textbook DON'T! The library has it for you to use and you wont need it until you need to the answer for the exams.

Professor Agan was the best professor I've had so far. Very inspirational and funny, he uses a lot of his own experience to connect the material and its one of things I love about his lectures. EASY A class as long as you: memorize answers for final and midterm and complete the 9 weekly essays. The TA I had didn't give any feedback on essays so it was annoying. But, you can do extra credit to bump your grade up FOUR points. Agan is great and always ready to help. People say he's slow to respond to emails, but he responded quickly to mine.

Agan is a very inspired old man who lectures pretty off topic. That being said, he gives you the questions that are on the test, so all you need to do is study those questions and you'll get an A guaranteed. I went to class every day and got a 98 on his first two tests, then I started skipping and still got a 89. He's very very easy.

I took the hybrid course, you turn in a 2-3 page essay weekly about an assigned article, only 2 tests midterm and final which were easy as long as you studied (they were short answer so no multiple choice). Lectures were great, funny, I enjoyed going to class on Saturday (surprising). I only missed 2 days and still managed to make an A.

I'm a Psych Minor so this course is required. I averaged a high B on all 3 test so I believed that the SONA hours would boost me to an A overall so I actually received an A-. With that being said aim to make at least 90s on all 3 tests if you want to receive an A overall in the class. Join a GroupMe and that prevent you from having to buy the book.

This professor is very chill. His lectures are not boring. This class was more of a sit back and relax type of class where you don't have to stress too much. He prepares us for the exams, by telling us the topics. The final was SONA credits which is not tough to complete. Overall, he is an excellent professor!

Amazing teacher for this intro to Psych. Tests are easy since he goes over topics. Get in a group me so you can get the notes for days that you missed all of them matter. Got the book for free from the group me and it had all the answers to homework just have to skim chapters. Any questions you have he's willing to answer.

Dr. Agan is so inspirational; I took away many life lessons from his class. The class is also ridiculously easy - he literally tells you all the exam questions during lecture. This is a class where you don't show up for the content, but for the lessons/insight behind the content.

Dr. Agan doesn't try to trip you up for the fun of it. He gives you exactly what will be on the exam so nothing should be a surprise. Grading consists of 2 tests, 30% each (content given word for word from lecture vids) and 40% from weekly essays (which are just summary essays about short articles he gives you to read). Definitely recommend 10/10.

Speaking as a student who has actually gotten to know Prof. Agan, i can honestly say he doesn't try to be someone he is not. His life lessons and his academic background are intertwined in all his lectures, and serves not only to educate his students on the material, but sheds personal wisdom for all his students. I took both PSYC1300 and online PSYC2344 with him. He gives notes in both classes including exam questions and answers. Only con is that on the exam you have to answer word-for-word to get full credit. PSYC1300's grade based on 90% exams (3 total) and 10% SONA hours. PSYC2344's grade based on 90% exams (2 total) and 10% weekly essays.

Such a great professor! I am currently taking him on Saturdays and it is not as bad as you would think. The class is an hour and a half long, he takes attendance but its not mandatory to go. Every Saturday a 1.5-3 page paper is due-writing intensive (but the topics: easy). There are 2 tests: all of the answers are online - but you have to write them word for word! Role IS taken.

I loved this class, it was super easy. I'm not sure why someone is saying this class isn't as easy lol, they were probably struggling because I got an A+. But anyways, it's not required to go like he might take attendance but he could care less whether you come trust me, so its a really really easy class! Plus the essays are easy trust me.

Really great guy. Took him for spring 2019 in his cultural psych class. Really interesting lecture, and honestly super easy class. 2 exams, I believe and extra credit opportunities are offered. I believe up to 4 points. Attendance is mandatory, so don't skip class. It's only once a week and the class is set for early afternoon.

If you don't want to write an essay every week I wouldn't recommend taking Cultural Psych with Agan. The essays weren't difficult or laborious, but they were a weekly occurrence so keep that in mind. His online lectures are from around 10 years ago, so they are outdated, but I didn't find them necessary to be successful in the course or tests.

If you're a psychology major, I would stray away from taking this class since you really won't learn anything. But all other majors are welcome if you're looking for an easy A. He GIVES you the test questions and they're all online. (Quizlet) His lectures are very entertaining but a bit outdated. Nonetheless, you will enjoy taking him.

First class in a while that I have actually enjoyed. Dr. Agan's lectures are very engaging and impactful, I often left class with a new perspective on life. Test questions are given before the exam so you can prepare your answers. The only grades are 3 exams and 5 SONA research hours. Very easy yet worthwhile class, definitely recommend.

Only downside of this class is that it's graded purely on exams so there isn't much opportunity to bring your grade up + lecture slides aren't posted. He actually enjoys what he teaches and likes to help his students.The class consist of three exams(which he gives the questions and answers throughout the classes) plus SONA which is like extra credit. This class was fun to attend and also light compared to other classes. Definitely recommend him :)

Herb is a great professor, you can tell he cares a lot about his students and that he loves teaching. His lectures are very interesting and he gives out test questions along with answers. The only tedious part is the SONA research, which is worth 10 points of your final grade. The class itself is very easy, definitely recommend taking Agan.

Only graded on 3 tests. I only went to class for the first 2 weeks and still got an A.

Dr. Agan was a really good professor. His lectures were very interesting! Course grades consisted of 3 exams + 5 credit hours of SONA. Exams were open note and he gave you all the questions beforehand, but you could still be short for time often. SONA could take a while, but you had the entire semester for it! Overall okay course.

Dr. Agan's class was honestly super cool. I genuinely found myself enjoying the content even though his lectures weren't super clear. He gives out the questions to his exams (3 total) during the lectures, so even though attendance isn't mandatory, there is a benefit to going.

Prof Agan's lectures were engaging and interesting. He truly cares about what he teaches. We had three tests (30% each) and either 5 SONA hours or 5 research papers for 10%. He gave us the test questions ahead of time, which made exams very easy. Highly, highly recommend Agan for psychology!

Dr Agan genuinely cares about his students and their futures as he purposely makes this class very easy to pass. Lectures are not mandatory, there are no weekly assignments, and there are 3 asynchronous exams (no lockdown browser or cameras). He's the best!!

Attendance matters since he does not post his slides online, he goes over test questions IN CLASS. He is extremely sweet and caring. A very genuine man and shares lots of experiences. The course is pretty easy if you attend and take notes.

His lectures were so interesting, and he's a hilarious person.
