Very nerdly. Easy class though. SHOW UP! Absense hurt grades.
Easy course. He knows his material, and loves his job. Show up and interact.
Awesome guy.. a nerd, but still fun. Knows his stuff, and cares about teaching. Show up to class.
He's a great teacher. He knows his stuff, and has a passion for the subject and the students. He's nerdy, but you get past that.
Great guitar teacher! Such a kool guy!
He is the bomb! He is the greatest Rock history teacher EVER!!! Take him you will learn. He is great!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was a nerd, but he was really nice and fair.
He is very easy. I got a 100 on everything, literally. If you want to be a teacher, you will find this class worthwhile. I thought it was easy and fun!
WOW! What a great class! This is without a doubt the best class at SFA. I learned so much in this class, and had a GREAT time doing it.
He is kind of a nerd, but it's an awesome class, take it and you won't regret it... easy too.
Not required to go to class but it helps. Tests over notes and lectures. Would have rather taken a different class.
I once got in a fight for this man... ...I love "The Herb"---he has spunk and I like it.
He was not helpful at all and he somehow managed to make playing guitar a chore. He never has anything positive to say and likes to make fun of his students in class. Very unreasonable man to work with.
ITS VERY BORING, BUT VERY EASY!! BE SURE YOU COME TO CLASS BECAUSE HE GIVES LIL EXTRA QUIZZES THAT ADDS POINTS TO YOUR TEST. VERY GOOD APPRECIATION COURSE. YOULL DO FINE!!
I really love his class and he is super cute in a smart, nerdy kind of way. really nice guy too.. if you need to take a music class and dont want to be bored out of your mind take this course!
His History of Rock class is great, he is a little off beat, but he is a good teacher. Easy test if you pay attention. All you have to do is show up to class take his attendence quizzes and take the test. Easy a cake! and you learn too.
The class is super easy, even if you don't show up all the time, just make sure you study the notes and/or book. It really is worth going to though if you enjoy music. Lots of extra points for going to class, and adds them straight to the test grade!
chill class, random dude but cool if you get to know him. i got an A no prob
Wow...easiest A I think I'll ever make. Told us the first day of class that he didn't want us to take notes. He'd rather us just pay attention to him. An hour class where you watch movies or listen to pieces of music. Awesome. Definate GPA raiser!!!
This guy is a douche. But his class is easy. Though I have to admit it was difficult ignoring his geek infested lifestyle, this class does offer some useful info on music.
Easy class, easy teacher, easy A
He is so smart and knows everything about rock. Take him, he is so fair in his class.
Very good and helpful teacher. Loves all different types of music. His teaching was entertaining. If you go to every class easy A he gives extra credit on attendance to help you pass.
I took his Internet class and thank God I did. It is the best of both worlds because he is easy as hell and you don't have to put up with him being a dork.
A little odd but nice guy. He is definately there to help you, not fail you! If u have half a brain you can never go to class and at least make a 70. I recommend this class if you need the credit.
Class is very easy! The tests are really easy, quizzes are given as extra credit. You have to attend five recital attendances but you can make them up. The teacher is weird, but knows alot about Rock n' Roll. Writes alot of his own music, pretty good too.
Awesome teacher.
GREAT GUY! EASY CLASS! LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT!! DEFINATELY RECCOMEND!!!
great guy..knows his stuff..dont buy book, dont need it! never opened it and got an A..just go to class every day cuz he gives lots of extra credit, esp. when not many people r in class
This teacher is awesome, I absolutely recommend taking him. He is very helpful and you can really learn a lot from the class if you participate. He takes attendance everyday so you can't skip, but easy A if you do the work. Plus you can go see him at open mic nights anytime.
easy class..go everyday and pay attention and u dont have to study. i got an A..just go to class cuz he gives little quizzes at the end of class sometimes for bonus pts. on the tests!!!!
I loved this class! It was so easy and fun. You have to attend concert recitals but that's definately worth the "A". I definately recommend taking this class.
This class is sooooo easy. I went four times, studied for like ten minutes before each test, and pulled an easy C. And i mean very easy. Be sure to check out his pictures on his website, they are ridiculous.
History of Rock, if you need a blow off, I do recommend. All you have to do is show up, listen, and take notes. Then you won't have to read the book. Tests are all Multiple choice. Pop quizzes are also given and are extra 5 points to your tests. Great Class!
Awesome class and an awesome professor. Just listen to the music and take some notes in class, and you'll do fine on the tests, and write your papers over the concerts and recitals, and it's an easy A. You will learn a lot of new things about music, no matter how big of a rock and roll fan you are.
Mr. Midgley is a great teacher. He is very open minded and is always understanding. As long as you do your work and come to class every day, you shouldn't have a problem. He NEVER lets you out early though!!!
He is an awesome teacher!! It is evident that he loves what he does and that passion shows in his classes and students. I would recommend him for any class he teaches.
Midgley is the coolest professor at this campus. You will not regret taking any class with him.
He's nice. You only have to go to class the day before the test and the actual test date. The "review" is him reading the test really fast. Go to class on Fridays and you get bonus points.
Loved the class. It makes music in the classroom a different experience. He makes you see things from a different point of view. He also has a share time at the begining of each class, and by the end, you feel like a community. The activities are fun, and he keeps you the WHOLE class time. It is fun and easy.
His class is MUCH FUN.
very boring class, with endless lesson plan writing and boring sing along songs. he really tries hard to get to know all of his students and keep everyone involved with his lessons which is important but honestly the class is just really boring especially if u already know or have ever been involved with music prior to this class. overall he's ok.
Hes realy funny and cool. as long as u "pay that piper"(what he says instead of telling yall to practice). he doesnt like when people miss his class. (he takes role). just practice and have fun!
very easy and helpful! funnest class of the semester. take him if you want an interesting teacher who knows what hes talking about. gives a quick review. study that and youll do fine on the test. great teacher!
Good Guy. Easy Class. Fun Class most importantly. Interesting material. You'll find new bands and singers to listen to.Best class ive taken so far. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN.
EASY A!!! This class was my escape - music, videos, all the notes you can print out! Simple... you don't have to go to class. but if you don't want to read your notes outside of class then go. It's fun and he gives bonus pts on days when a lot of people aren't there (fridays/rainy days). FUn fun fun
Easy A. Go to Concerts and Go to Class. . .
Easiest class I've ever taken in college.
This is the easiest class you can take at college!! You can print the notes online, and never use the book. All you do is go to class and listen to music. Make sure you go to concerts- it's 25% of your grade. He's a good prof.
On the first day he tells you he's not going to take attendance and that he has his notes (AND VIDEO LECTURES) online. It is a really interesting class and you get to watch lots of cool videos but you can still pass easily without ever going.
this teacher was really cool and made the class fun, if you take this class you will definitely enjoy it!
BE PREPARED TO DO A LOT OF CHAPTER REFLECTIONS. BUT THIS CLASS CAN FUN AND BORING SOMETIMES BUT IT IS BETTER THAN TAKING IT WITH TURNER. MIDGLEY IS JUST WIERD SOMETIMES BUT YOU WILL SURVIVE
Definately a "special" man. Has a unique style of teaching, which I'm not going to lie is pretty boring. You dont have to go to class, but he gives like 2-3 bonus quizes before each test that are worth five points each on the test so you can get up to 15 bonus points per test. The test were easy if you do the review he gives you.
This guy is the Internet Legend! He know rock and roll like the back of his hand! He not only teaches rock and roll, he can write it and play it on both the piano and guitar. He makes you think and learn at the same time. Everyone should take this class! It should be required if you listen to music! Rock and Roll!
History of Rock - easy, interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory but you need the lecture and video material for multiple choice tests. I didn't read because I know quite a bit about Rock - for those who don't, you may need to get the book.
Mr. Midgley is a very interesting professor. The guy is deeply committed to the subjects he teaches and is always everywhere to be seen around town (from smoke-filled bars to theatrical performances to riding his bike in the park, chances are, you'll run into him outside of class frequently). He makes what could be a boring class very fun.
I like him alot. He really cares about his subjects. I would reccomend him for ROck.
The class is easy..don't buy the book. He gives bonus points for showing up for class but he can be BORING. Even though thats great..he is extremely conceited and does not help students when they need help. Take the class for an easy A but do not expect to enjoy it. I love rock and I think it could be taught MUCH better!
This dude is a true Legend. Knows his stuff and is fair. He is willing to work with you. It's cool to hear him play boogie woogie piano as you walk in and out of class some days. He is also a song writer and has composed a lot of songs. Great class, for any nay sayer, I bet they never showed up to class. A true Internet Legend! A++++++++++
this class was really boring...easy..but really boring..there's too many people in the class and he meks too many interruptions for them...he gets off topic a lot and there's too much information to deal with..really obscure details are tested over frequently..i thought the material was really intersting but the way it was presented was not
Its Midgley. What more can I say. Loves music. Knows his stuff about rock.
His is the Internet Legend, that's all I have to have to say. Knows his stuff and is fair. Test are not too hard if you show up to class and read the text. Good, fair, smart and he can play piano and guitar great. He is the only one to take for Rock History.
really easy! great teacher that knows what hes talking about. barely showed up to class and still got an A. very interesting and loveddd this class!
The one and only. Herbert Midgley is a man so strange he must be experienced. Take his class.
I took his Jazz class. It was easy. There are no notes on mycourses, he show's powerpoints in class. He gives like 2 hours to take the test, but it is easier to read before you take the test. Some of the things he asks are time consuming to look up if you havent studied. He gives bonus quizzes often, he is really cool and smart. Doesnt take roll
nice guy, but REALLY WEIRD, has a short tempter about talking. hardly ever went to class, still got an A. tests are online, you can use the internet, big help if you didn't read or go to class. easy A
Midgley is one of a kind. Probably the most misunderstood professors because he simply loves what he does and ignores what others think. He has a warm heart and really wants you to succeed. He probably deserves more credit than given to him. His class is hands on, interactive, and he really cares about learning who you are and your interest.
Online tests/final= super easy. The class has about 100 people in is but only 20 show up on a daily basis. All of the notes are online. You don't have to come to class at all, but i like it because you watch movies and have class discussions. Super nice/ dorky guy.
Very unique to say the least. The class is easy. Does not take attendance, but I still recommend attending class due to bonus quizes and he addresses some test questions. All an all a pretty easy A with all the extra credit, though there are some bogus questions on the test. He is very opinionated and extremly annoying at times but nice.
If you like listening to someone play their own songs and show off every day, then this class is for you. He is like most professors and thinks this is the most important class that you'll have. At first I thought this would be a fun elective and I would learn to play guitar, but he is a drill sargent that thinks none of the students can play.
I tried going to this class, he talked to much about how you don't have to be there and gets off topic a lot. So I didn't go. In general he is a nice guy. Willing to work with you if you get in a bind. You don't have to be in class, and all the notes are right there online for you. Super Easy.
Midgley is so utterly vain. He would come in, show off, expect us to do something, and then get mad and say that we didn't deserve weekends or holidays. I thought that Guitar would be fun but it just ended up being stressful and annoying. I am so glad that i don't have to listen to him anymore. DONT TAKE! You can learn everything he teaches online.
I hated this class and rarely went. I made an A in the class. Powerpoints and tests are online. He just reads off the powerpoints. I think the first day of class is most important because he gives material that keeps repeating on all the tests. You are required to attend 5 musical concerts, at least 3 classical.
the internet legend...easy class didnt go alot
Cool teacher! Alot of fun!
If you are smart you wont bother going to class. He actually encourages you not too. He thinks he is the best. Watch him on youtube, he is a legend.
Mr. Midgley really cares about what he teaches. The tests are online and extremely easy if you attend class. You aren't required to go to class but probably should. He does give bonus points at the end of the semester. You do have to go to recitals and write 5 easy essays.
Never went to class and got an A. Do the discussion questions posted online. Had to do reviews for 5 concerts but we didn't have to attend them. Test are right of the powerpoints.
Never went to class and still got an A. All assignments and tests are online and are very easy.
TAKE HIM. i attended the first day and NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN...made an A. Went to one concert and BS'ed the other four reviews...if you need a GPA booster, go for it. The downside is that i actually like music, so i didnt really learn anything:( His tests are EASY and you can retake once. Answers can be found on Google/Wikipedia. EASYYYY A!
I went to class because it was fun and it made it where I didn't have to study or search while taking the online tests. He's nice but kind of full of himself. He thinks he is an "Internet Legend," amusing. Easy A and the reviews you can just kind of BS and get an A. Awesome class, awesome teacher, awesome subject. What's not to love?
Easy as pie. Showed up on Tuesday's and my roommate did Thursday's, we both made an A. All his tests are online. Not difficult to pass or make an A.
Everything is online! including notes, powerpoints and even videos of himself giving lectures. So you never have to go to class to pass. Tests are easy. He tells you to google everything! But his attitude is too much. He thinks he's the greatest musician EVER and has a major attitude. BUT if you want an easy class. Take!
Cake walk.
He knows so much about Rock and Roll. If you love music and want to learn about Rock, take this class. Midgley is smart and knows a lot, but he will help you when you ask questions. The test are fair if you go to class and study. He is the great!
If you like music it is a great class. I loved it. He is a great guy and it is an easy class. I recommend it to all my friends.
Easy online course and a fun one for anybody who needs a humanities or music appreciation credit. Midgley is a bit offbeat but his video lectures are very enjoyable and informative for anybody interested in knowing more about rock and roll.
I took him for the history of rock and I enjoyed his class. He is very helpful and his class is not challenging at all. All his test are online and they are pretty easy. Just make sure you pay attention to the small detail you may think are not important
Good class pretty easy all test are online and straight from the PowerPoint. Responds to questions fast, nice teacher very interesting class!!!
HISTORY OF ROCK. Take the in person class, not the online one. It is half the work, and you don't even have to go to class. All you have to do is the tests, which are very easy to find the answers to (make friends in the class), write a few concert reviews (easy to BS) and write one paper which is very easy. EASY A
Midgley can play guitar and piano and can truly play rock and roll. He knows rock history and has a great flow to his class. I'm a senior and this is the best class I have had at SFA. Take this class if you need a fine arts credit at SFA.
Take him for fine arts credit!
This is the best online class I have taken at SFA. Very clear and you can complete all of the work online. He has great videos of his lectures online to watch. Test are fair and are covered in the classwork. Take this class!!!
This has been one of the best classes I have taken during college. Only take Midgley, he is fair and knows how to teach. A+ teacher.
Good class. Go to class and learn about The Beatles, Stones, Punk and 80's music, what can get better than that? Got to go to concerts that were good. Better than other college classes.
His class is great. It's SUPER easy and you'll really enjoy it. There's no textbook whatsoever and all the tests are online. He's a really fun guy, albeit a bit quirky, and he really enjoys the subject he's teaching. You don't have to go to class to do well, but you should go anyway because it's fun! I highly recommend taking it.
This class is so easy, however you do have to study the notes if you didn't pay attention in class. Everything is online so you don't have to take notes in class. If you don't pass a test, it's really because you didn't listen in class or study the notes he gives you. We have a few extra days to take the test so use that to your advantage, REVIEW.
Midgley is a friendly professor that knows his topic. He smiles everyday and when you go and ask a question he will answer it. Go to class and take notes, he goes over the powerpoints and adds more through videos and stories.
The best online class I have had at SFA. Very clear, there are a few projects, concert reviews and a music project, and four test. Read the notes and listen to the lectures and you will pass the tests. I tell everyone to take Midgley. He is one of the best at SFA.
If given the opportunity to take online, do it. This is an interesting subject but it is not a fun class to sit through. If you sit through class and do assignments it is an easy A.
He's a nice guy. Made class fun. Although he did seem a bit rude. I asked him if we had to turn in something for a grade and he said "you don't have to do anything. I can't tell u. It's up to you" all I wanted was a yes or no. He hates talking and will get frustrated. Fun class tho .
I learned a lot.
This is probably the best professor at SFA. He is really friendly. Tests are easy even if you don't go to class. Gives lots of extra credit. Emails back really quickly. I recommend him to all. Good professor.
I took Professor Midgley for music 140 online, and it was history of rock & roll. I absolutely loved this class. When I was confused about something he would always meet me at his office to help. His test weren't too bad, but you have to read his lectures to pass them. He's super nice and funny! I'd definitely take him again if I could.
Midgley is a great teacher, he has taught guitar for years and it shows. If you want to learn h ow to play guitar, take this class.
Fair, helps you do well in the class. N ot mean or boring. Passionate about music.
What can be said, Midgley is the one professor that everyone knows at SFA. A fun class and he knows how to teach so you don't even want to check your phone when he is teaching. Take the history of rock, it will be a class that you will remember.
The best class I took at SFA.
Great teacher
Loved the class. Rock music is covered and we listen to a lot of music in class.
Mr. Midgley is a super cool professor. I took his jazz history class and it was super easy and very interesting. His tests are all online and they are easy!
The tests are online so they were easy to pass. The livetext assignments were difficult to understand and he changed it 2 weeks before finals. Overall this class was very easy.
He will work with you to make sure you complete your work and projects. Cool person.
He's rude and hates our generation, he was constantly complaining about "tippy tappy devices" 50 minutes has never felt so long. I wish I would have taken a different appreciation class because this class was miserable. I would not recommend him as a professor to anyone. He has gone down hill since all the old reviews and has changed.
This was an fun class. You must take all the online quizzes. The tests are very easy. You have to sign in on a sheet for attendance so make sure you attend.
He's a weird dude. Took him for history of rock and he would always sing and dance along with the songs. I hated the boring lecture but all assignments are online so it's really easy. He checks attendance bu it's easy to forge. If you want a laugh, check out his youtube- The Internet Legend
Great class, better than other appreciation classes. I would take again, he cares about his class. Take Midgley!
Easy class. Take notes over the weekly modules if you want, but you can just use CTRL-F or google to do the tests. There are two weekly discussion postings that I am not sure he even reads and a "Dialogue with Instruction" question that gives you a 100% for whatever you answer. There is one group project but it is an easy A. Its a Gimme Credit.
This class sounds easy, but the tests are very hard. They are not over rock and roll, we were asked to identify the musical texture of a song. Basically it is impossible to do well on the listening portion if you are not a music major. Projects are unclear and it gets quite frustrating trying to understand what he wants.
He knows rock history and made it fun, take this prof!
Professor Midgley was a lot of fun. Class was not mandatory. Tests are online, there is one group project but it was super easy. There is also one paper but he is a really easy grader! Got 100 on both the project and the paper. Even if you do bad on tests, the project and paper will help you. Do the extra credit he offers! This class is an easy A!!
I went to class the day before tests and read over the notes he uploaded on my own time and made 95-100% on every test. His lectures can be long, but he knows his stuff. Be respectful in his class, or he will go on a tiny rant. One group project that is relatively easy. The class is an easy A and the material isn't all that boring.
Ok, this teacher has been so helpful whenever I or other students go talk to him after class. He answers his emails fast. And this man knows how to teach music. He playes piano and guitar, so he is a rock star. He covers the material for the test and is fair. Great person and great class. If you are at SFA take the rock his class with him.
CHECK OUT HIS YOUTUBE CHANNEL! It'll give you a glance at what to expect for your semester. To my surprise, I genuinely enjoyed this class. It's super easy and the tests are online.
Midgley is one of the oddest professors but also one of the sweetest and most passionate about their subject. He loves the music and truly wants his students to appreciate it too. The class itself is incredibly easy; the tests are all online, multiple choice, and come directly from his lectures. The group project midterm is basically a free A.
This class is an easy A. He is great and very passionate about what he does, so he knows what he is teaching. There's only one group project, but its really easy. Just take the quizzes before the tests and you will pass easily.
He really wants you to pass. Tests aren't too hard because his lectures give you everything.
I loved this class. He really is a great teacher! One of the best at SFA.
Literally the nicest man in all of Nacogdoches, can be lenient with students but DO NOT try to walk over him, he loves his job and what he does and he deserves respect because he knows what he's talking about. Take this professor if possible.
Midgley is easy. The group project is annoying but easy. I missed most of his classes and got an A. You do have to study for exams. exams are online ;)
Professor Midgley is awesome! not a music major and got an A. He is very passionate about music and teaching even though he can be kind of quirky at times. The tests are online and very easy. If you attend lecture you can make an easy A. There is a group project that is easy but it can be annoying. He will gladly help anyone at any time.
Very interesting teacher. really cares about his job and students. answers emails really quickly. the jazz music you listen to is actually really nice. just look at the powerpoints and youll be fine on the tests. the listening part is a little harder. and you have a group project that you have like weeks to do. easy A.
Super nice guy. Super easy class. really cares about music, but does complain a lot if people are on there phones. "if you're not gonna be here mentally, don't be here physically" the tests on are online
Prof Midgley isnt a bad person. I dont think he has very good classroom management. He kind of goes off topic sometimes. Also his attendance isnt mandatory and he lets everyone know they can make an A and never go to class... terrible choice. Since he said that, his classes were very empty. Easy A though. Classes are a bore also.
You don't have to go to class to get an A
This prof influences me to this day. He knows rock history and is fair. Also he can play piano and guitar like a rock star.
GO CHECK OUT HIS YOUTUBE 'The Internet Legend'!!! This will tell you all you need to know.
Dr. Midgley is a great professor to work with. His classes are intriguing and he's not a brutal grader or requires much. If you need to knock out a core for music or arts, he's the best guy to go to. If you pay attention just to the lectures, you will pass with flying colors. There's no excuses to fail his class. It's the easiest class I've taken.
If you are looking for an easy class for the semester, this is the one to take.
You dont have to come to class, everybody stop showing up. Some question for the test is lecture based but literally everything is online. Liking for a easy class for fines arts take him!
Mr. Midgley is a pretty cool guy. The course itself is easier than a junior high class and you literally dont ever need to show up to get an A. Hes very nice and has a good heart but personally I think it would be in his best interest to manage his classroom a little better and make the students at least somewhat work for their grade.
Dr. Midgley is so, so passionate! I took him for Jazz Appreciation and absolutely loved it. He passes around an attendance sheet to sign but it was never really used as a grading measure. All tests and assignments are online except for the Time Capsule project which is easily completed in a group. He shows music videos and loves to teach.
He is the coolest professor at SFA. Everyone knows him and he is helpful when you have questions. You can tell he has been teaching for years because everything is easy to understand and complete the assignments. You listen to the great music ever and get a grade for it, win win. Take him over another rock professor.
Love the class, learn about Jazz and he is a solid guy. People say he is good for a reason. If you have a problem, he will help you, unlike some older professors I have had before. Recommend Midg to everyone.
This online class was well thought out with all the dates clear. I knew what was due and when it was due. Great online class.
EASY. I took him for MUSI 1306. He was very kind and understanding. All of his due dates were set out, and all the assignments were really easy and pretty fun. I highly recommend.
Great Professor. Absolutely loved the class and if you miss a due date or don't think you can finish something in time just shoot him an extension email. He is very understanding and doesn't hesitate to extend the deadline for students. The coursework was easy and basically just participation.
If you have the chance to take this class, DO IT! I had so much fun taking this course, and Prof. Midgley is the best. The assignments aren't hard and are very fun to complete. This has been my favorite class so far.
He was very understanding of the fact that students have lives outside of his class and was more than willing to work with me when I asked for extensions due to life issues. Really nice and caring dude and I really appreciate him helping me achieve success the best he could.
Clear Instructions on each assignment there is 4 sets of topics to cover and inside those 4 topics there is 3-5 sections and there is quizzes with those and that is a large portion of your grade. There are 2 papers to write, but overall he is a great professor and very organized online. Very good but entertaining class and easy music credit hour.
You know him before you take his class. Everyone at SFA knows him, that's why everyone takes him. He knows rock history, lectures, and asks thoughtful questions. You can tell that he loves teaching. The coolest teacher at SFA. Take him and watch his youtube videos and listen to his music on Spotify. He is great on the piano and guitar.
Prof. Midgley was great, even though I didn't get to have the pleasure of being in his in-person class, I still got a lot out of the online course. It was very clear and easy to do. Each assignment had a clear explanation of what you should be doing. He grades super easily, and his work doesn't take that long to do! 10/10 recommend.
He sometimes goes off track during his lectures and is hard to follow.
Such an easy class and he plays instruments. He might not have ever heard a Taylor Swift song and covered one oddly but he's got the spirit.
I'm not musically inclined but I loved this class!!! Listened to music very often in class Taught Jazz well and gave helpful life advice
Prior to enrolling in his course, familiarity with the instructor is widespread among the students of SFA. His renowned expertise in rock history, adept lecture delivery, and penchant for posing insightful inquiries draw considerable attention. He is on YouTube and Spotify. And he made a feature film, The Rise Of The Robots that is on Amazon.
I had for Jazz, was quite an experience. While I'll admit I found myself a bit disengaged at times, there's no denying the instructor's deep knowledge of the subject matter. He excels in delivering explanations and insight. Despite this, his tangents, did provide interesting diversions from the structured content. He can play piano great.
This is the easiest class you will ever take. You will get an A if you do the graded assignments. The tests were the hardest part, but for the listening test, take the quiz first because it has the same questions.
I was bored out of my mind in this class. He sets his course up to where you can miss class and still make an A. He is nice but never stayed on task in the lecutres and would try and give life lessons more than actually teach about jazz.
Midgley is the Internet Legend, he can play all of the rock instruments, guitar, piano, bass, and drums. He knows so much about music and is a great person. He is the best teacher at SFA. If you go to SFA, you missed out if you never had Midgley for a class. He also made a film, has music on Spotify, and has thousands of videos online.
Midgley is the greatest prof at SFA. You need to take this class. Learned a lot.
If you know of SFA, you know of Midgley. He is the best teacher at SFA. You have to take him for a class before you graduate. I heard some great music that I have on a playlist.
Midgley is an absolute gem! Loved his class and so happy I got to experience him in person!
He is an awesome professor, especially if you are looking for an easy elective to take. Exams were not very hard, and he gives a good review!
Midgley is a music legend. His lectures can be off-track, but he's understanding and makes the class easy. unstuck AI was helpful for studying.
Dr. Midgley is the best teacher at SFA. He is the greatest teacher and knows rock music better than any one. Take him, the coolest professor. Nice and will talk to you with a smile. Great class!
He was good at teaching the material in fun ways.
Great guy, easy class.
Anyone not giving him 5 stars is an odd ball. Everyone loves Midgley because he is kind and passionate about what he talks about. He rambles sometimes but at least he is living it up. Love him and everyone else should too. He is kind, funny, and cares about people. He is so amaze, he is my idol
This professor is amazing, and this class is SO EASY! I highly recommend this class, but make sure you take it online! The tests and assignments are so easy you can normally get them done in a day! I ended up finishing the class assignments and quizzes early and then did the exams whenever he opened them. Whatever you do, TAKE HIM ONLINE!!
Midgley's lectures were interesting and fun to listen to. He plays a lot of music and gets to know students, which is really nice. There are several tests and a concert review (biggest grade), as well as smaller quizzes, but it was not a heavy workload at all. There is a writing assignment that joins each test, but they are easy. Highly recommend!
Online class is easy but lots of work. This class was overall okay except for the listening quizzes and exams.
Midgley is an SFA icon. I could not recommend the history of rock more. Take this class with him before you graduate for an easy A.
Dr. Midgley is the most famous professor at SFA. He has been in movies, TV shows, podcasts, and plays in rock bands. He even made a Sci-Fi film, The Rise of the Robots, that he scored. He has too much talent to teach at SFA. SFA is lucky to have him, and students are lucky to take him. He knows rock history and connects this history with your life.
Midgley is a great online teacher. The class is organized well, and I understood what I needed to turn in. The content is really good, especially the videos. His video lectures are fantastic. Everybody told me to take Midgley, and they were correct. I earned an A and learned about rock music, my parents enjoyed the playlist on a family trip.
Dr. Midgley plays all of the rock instruments. He knows a lot about music and rock history. Everyone takes him for a reason, he is fair and nice to all students. If you want to learn or listen to great music, take Dr. Midgley. He has notes and videos that can help you and the playlist I still listen to after my class. Take him.
I took Dr. Midgley's history of rock and roll class during Maymester, the online class was very well organized. His welcome video covers the class completely. If you ever get lost, you can watch that video and know where everything is located. His notes are easy to follow, and he even has videos that you can watch. It's a great class.A+ professor
I took this class during summer one, really enjoy the class. The videos were very helpful, and the tests were fair. I knew what to study for. I also like the projects in the class. If you need a music appreciation class, rock history is the way to go. Midgley is a good professor,
If you like rock music, this is the class and professor for you. He is great at what he does and is a very awesome person. He even came to one of my concerts!
