His class is impossible to fail. If you fail his class you are a complete MORON. He is a great professor, always there to help you out.
Great professor. Made me trully understand business style economics. If you fail, just quit college and flip burgers. He's reasonable too. ;o)
Yes, this class is impossible to fail. But he doesn't know how to teach - that's why everyone gets a horrible score on exams and the grade needs to be curved. If you're a Business major, look elsewhere - or you'll suffer in the long run.
This man does not know how to teach and he rushes through the Chapters. Business majors I do not recoomend this professor.
boring so your sleeping or dazed off. if you study the notes, and at the back of each chapter it gives you a web page he does get some qustions from there. the only thing great is that he curves big time. but i didnt learn much.
Horrible teacher, does not know how to teach. Do not recommend taking this class.
Wonderful class - if you're sleep deprived. This dude shouldn't be teaching in college - he shouldn't be teaching period. His tests are pretty hard, but with his big curves, you're guaranteed to pass. That's the only positive thing to say about him.
He can't teach for jack, and why do these people say that he curves so fairly and everything - he doesn't. Not in my class he didn't. Tests were very difficult, a lot of people failed, and yet he really didn't curve that much - maybe 6 or 7 points added.
He can't teach, and worse yet, he is so politically biased it's painful to sit through his class. But the tests are curved so it's hard to fail. Don't take his class unless you really have to (unfortunately we all have time constraints).
Ugh...I hate this class. Blah blah blah blah blah all he does is freakin' talk on and on and on and puts everyone to sleep. Tests are HARD...but his curves are crazy. If you get a 70, you get an A. For most of his tests, at least. Horrible professor.
I took his economics class over the summer, he's very helpful when it comes to grading. He will curve grades, at least he did summer term. His final was also helpful since he only made it on the last three chapters of the book instead of the whole book.
Good teacher. Curves all the test.
has a solid grasp of economics, knows his stuff, but was never meant to be a teacher.
I definitely agree with the previous rating, he knows the subject very well, but was not meant to be a teacher. Very boring, can really put you to sleep. Tests are very difficult, thank God he curves all tests! Take McLeod.
The tests are very hard, but are given hudge curves. There is a website on the back of the book that can really help you out, but over all I would take another teacher. DON'T take this class early in the morning or your will fall alseep.
if u fail this class then u have a serious mental problem. everyone should take this class to ensure a passing grade. u can't get a D or F unless u don't show up
i love this man, he has a great personality, but you'll be better off reading the book by yourself, he curves all test which is very much needed, he's an avid republican, and never try to debate him, he will own you. slightly boring lectures
Great personality. Very funny. Grading scale for tests is ridiculous b/c of his curves, thankgod he does it too. Must read the book to pass.
He has like a 20 point curve on his tests so you will not FAIL! Lectures are boring and usually have little to do with the chapters in the book. TAKE HIM if you wanna pass!
If you fail his class you're dumb because his curves are great. He knows what he's talking about but he shouldnt be teaching it, just read the book and you'll definently pass. He is very republican.
You have to read the text book to pass this class. But he was cool, his tests weren't that hard and he curves, and a curve is always a beautiful thing.
He just talk about ORANGE JUICE...!!!and he also says WHEN I WENT TO CORP OF AMERICA!!! BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!! ORANGE JUICE!!!!! ORANGE JUICE!!!!!!!
my last curve in his class was 100-72=A need i say more? great personality, a verly lovely republican, very intelligent, just read the book and you'll do just fine
I had the worse experience taking his class!! He is very boring and his classes have nothing to do with his test. I was lost in every class, not knowing what he was talking about (i am a A student so it is a big deal!)He has no teaching skills. Just do yourself a favor but not taking his class.
hard but good...hard tests but he teaches you something.
Great teacher. had him for both econ classes and never went to class, or studied and managed to get a C. hes a really cool guy loves the gators and understandable highly recommended that everybody take him!!!!!!
He is not a very good educator, but I cannot say that he is boring. Tests are really dificult. English is my second language, so I mostly did not understand what is going on. BUT, THANKS TO HIS CURVING (LAST TEST 69-30 STILL C) IT IS IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO PASS!!!!! UNLESS YOU HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION.
Sux, i'm an A student and i got a C in his class cuz he doesnt teach for****, he just brags about how rich he is, he curves tests cuz he doesnt wanna look bad! Your not a good teacher if the whole class depends on his curve to pass. TAKE WILLIAM MCLOUD INSTEAD OF BAINE, GARRANTEED A!
2nd semester w/ him (diff. class) i didnt do as well, he was still entertaining but there was something different about him. he doesnt teach what is on the tests and the book is difficult to read. i suggest finding someone more straight-forward
This course is confusing to begin with but throw Baine in the mix and your overly perplexed. He does awesome curves on tests but I agree if your whole class depends on the curve, that sux.
This guy is great, he is fun gives u a giggle during his class, He will tell u all the time how he feals about the topic, and he curves the test like a mad man. you can get a 40% on a test and still get a "c" take him!!!!!!!
MEDIOCRE TEACHING. ECONOMICS IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND WITH HIS LECTURES BUT I DID LEARN SOME THINGS I DIDN'T KNOW BEFORE.
Do not take him! He doesn't do reviews for the exams and his exams are very difficult. The curves help but you still end up with a C usually. Save yourself the headache and heed everyone's advice -- don't take him!
OK here's the deal. I got an A in this class - I think one of the few. I never missed a class and he's a good guy. Smart and entertaining (even though NO ONE speaks in class but him). BUT (and this is a huge one)... the tests are insane. Not hard - just totally weird. I kinda figured out that the tests don't seem to be written by him or by th
HE SEEMS NICE PROF. AND TRIES TO MAKE IT FUN CLASS BUT HIS LECTURE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS TEST. I FAILED ALL HIS TESTS BUT BECAUSE OF HIS BIG CURVE I PASSED THE CLASS WITH C. I LEARNED SOME BUT NOT ENOUGH.
This is one of BCC's best professor take this class if you want to learn. Excellent teacher got an A in his class.
Prof. Baine is ridiculously easily. he doesn't give out homework or anything. all u do are tests. I never went to his classes and NEVER studied but yet i passed with a B. his tests don't make any sense but his grading curve is so crazy that even if you fail the test you'll still pass. If your trying to actually learn something don't take him but if
Here's the thing: on one hand, he is known for his lengthy tangents but on the same token they're quite interesrting! I learned so much through those tangents, now to pass his tests, just make sure to READ!! Excellent curbs! Totally recommend him!
The class is simple to an extent. He does not teach you anything that will be on the test, so in order to do great take your time and read the outlines to each chapter. He curves every test drmatically. A (C) in his class went from a 60-33%.....Amazing!!!
This guy is insane! He spent half the class talking about politics and kept refering to the IMF as "****s" The tests are not bad if you study from the manuals and the online resources but his lectures have nothing to do with the tests. Wouldn't recommend
There is no clarity in his lectures what-so-ever. Half of the time I just want to leave his class. He generalizes everything and you do not learn anything. I learned more from my online ECO2013 class and I had to teach myself in that course ( as you have to with online classes). I do not recommend him if you really want to learn. something.
He has very interesting lectures, But they have nothing to do with the tests. If you are really trying to learn Mirco Economics, do not take him. He does have big curves on his tests.
He knows a great deal about the topic and assists in every manner possible. If you plan on not reading for class then opt for another professor. He is a severe conservative and he makes some comments on Leftists. I did not like his course and I don't think he is a good teacher. He does offer extra credit as an incentive and a curve on exams.
let's me start w/ ... DO NOT TAKE HIM!! if you really want to learn economic. only good thing about is he curve on exma, and that how i managed to get a decent grade. if he is only prof. available, wait one more semester or take different course.
I didn't understand a thing he was saying.
Took over summer 07..great teacher...curves tests...knows what hes talking about...but doesnt really know his statistics...ull see by the end of the term he contradicts himself...loves bill clinton lol...make sure u read the chapters!!!
oo big billy!!! haha (bill clinton). He curves tests, he is funny, but is extremely boring, even over the summer with 2 hour courses!!! Regardless, take him...he's cool :)...o btw...he gets excited when there is a debate in class! THATS A QUESTION!!! haha
A great professor. People here who say not to take him if you want to learn economics are just plain wrong. He relates the info from the book to real life. His test require you to listent in class as well as read the book, you cant just sit in class and hope to do well. His lectures are interesting and time flys in class. An excellent professor
His tests are not even CLOSE to what he lectures. No test reviews and horrible at answering questions. He definitely beats around the bush and doesnt get a rats tail if you pass or not, he will be blunt about it!
He is not helpful, the only good side is that he curves the tests. No one understood what he was talking about. He messed up some peoples grades, and does not really help. I would take a different professor, unless you like tests. His tests are nothing involved with the book. Most people would get 40% on his test, but he curves it.
TAKE HIM IF YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT LEARNING OR GETTING AN "A" -WITH HIS CURVE YOU MIGHT GE A "C".
Boring professor. He is not clear in his lectures and his tests are hard but he gives curves because everyone does so poorly.
Very nice guy (sometimes funny) but BORING. His lectures only somewhat relate to the book and his tests are challenging. Must read the chapters! His lectures didn't even relate to the tests that much either. No real homework though..just study. Not my worst professor, but definetly not the best.
he cheated me out of a grade, i did the 5 extra credit assignments and he still didn't bump my grade like he said the first day of class, lectures are boring, the tests are hard, but he curves big time tho, you have to be in class as far as attendance goes and he doesnt always do it at the beginning of class, be careful cuz if u want an "A" in this
It is hard to get a perfect score on his tests, but he curves all of them. A lot of people think he's boring because he doesn't follow the book, but he relates stuff to real life which makes it more interesting to me. I got an A easily with relatively little effort compared to my other classes. Didn't even have to take the final.
He talks a lot about politics and for me it was sometimes hard to follow him (but English is my second language). Still, I had the impression that others in the class could not follow him as well (and they sometimes looked bored). The tests are hard and you definetely have to study each chapter of the book. Nevertheless, I would take him again.
WORST PROFESSOR I EVER TOOK. I do not think he knows what he is talking about, and I learned absolutly nothing.
Very boring and completely uninteresting. All you need to do is read the textbook- class is barely necessary. Tests are hard, but he grades on a HUGE curve.. that is the only good part.
lectures are not quite boring. it's his monotonous tone that drags it out. sometimes you have to read to learn. that's life. does give curves and extra credit. not a hard teacher
Mediocre teacher, he does not care if you learn or not... he curves all his tests instead of worrying about what the people are learning. I learn nothing.
Take this teacher for all economic related classes. I had NO interest in economics before taking a required elective in this, this man made me see the light, I love economics now thanks to Mr. Baine, he is the best professor I ever had
Definitely knows Economics. Makes it relevant and current. Hard tests! Lectures directly from book. Grades forgivingly on the curve. Learned alot and overall enjoyed his teaching.
nice man. he is sarcastic sometimes. he is very intelligent and realistic and that can make hi cruel, but he has a big heart. you can't fail his class.
Guys, please save yourselves money and terrible stress!!.He made my economics experience even bigger nightmare as it is.During the lessons he would talk about complete crap NEVER from the textbook/e.g.stories/ but his tests are 100% from it, and he chooses the hardest things he can find, rarely sb gets an A. Please, RUN!
Honestly, I attend Broward to get a class that will normally be intolerable at my school out of the way.So in that regard the class is hard. But as a regular class it is'nt HORRIBLE.It does require you to read the book...unless you get the test bank like I did.I'm selling it AND the book on Half.com--his exams are taken STRAIGHT from the test bnk!!!
I know for me, I take classes at Broward to avoid hard classes at my school. So in that respects for Broward it's a hard class but it's really a normally taught that requires you to READ your textbk.I passed because I had the testbank for the book and his tests were vebatim from the testbank, I'm selling at Half.com-search ISBN:0321421450
This professor allows any student to make up any (one) test for any reason & leaves them at the testing center for you. He also allows extra credit that boosts your grade one letter grade with news articles. Tests come straight from the book, so you're gonna have to read. He isn't super strict with attendance as long as you show up for test dates.
makes jokes that are unrelated such as hilary clinton having brass balls AND always talks about cudlow UGHHHHH!! the class is horrible i only passed because of his EPIC curve like 80-100=a and 60-79=b and dont bother asking questions he dosent even answer them.. i read so much and still didnt understand!! :(
Mr. Baine is extremely knowledgeable but students find him hard because he is a professor who teaches Honour Classes. This make him little bit difficult unless you are business major. I am Finance student getting 'A'.
Helpful Professor but challenges student sometimes.
Sigh..where do i begin? He is a cool teacher and all, but his class can be very difficult at times. I unhonestly failed every singled test he gave us even after i studied and studied some more. I only passed with a C because he gave the class a HUGE curve because everyone was failing his class. Not the best teacher but not the worst either.
Great Professor if you want to learn something. You can be a successful Entrepreneur but remember class are hard and only BUSINESS MAJOR INVITED.
Economics is boring but this guy tries hard to make it helpful in real life situations
Made me love Economics, but Caution: Test are 240 volts shock! Overall good
Used to teach Honor Class and considered to be hardest Prof. for Micro & Macro. Has a lot of corporate experience. However, his test will take away your breath.
if you want to learn more than what the books want you to know, then take this instructor. He teaches economics to the fullest, and not just what the book says. though his test are hard, it is easy to get a good grade since his interest is that you learn.
Great Prof if you are paying tution to learn. Should be teaching in good University instead of colleges like Broward. But make sure you attend class regularly and passes his 4 or 5 Extremely DIFFICULT tests.
If you want to learn and will be satisfied with a B or C, then take him. If you want an A go some where else. His test are very hard.
this teacher is super hard. his test are hard, and if you dont memorize the book you wont do too good, but if everyone else fails then you will do good cause of the curve. I dont like him at all, he just rambles, and some material on the tests were never discussed in class. I recommend you take Macro before this class as well!!! Seriously!
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS, dont expect an A in this class, because no one got an A. I have not a single C in my two years i have been attending broward college. I got a C in this class... His test are really hard believe me. you should take micro before this class. If you are ok with a C ...then take him.
Baine is the best by far the best economics teacher out there. Years of real world experiance, his classes should be taught at Harvard, Yale, etc. Yes, they are hard, but you LEARN. Even if you have no interest in economics, you will after taking his classes. If you are an econ major, you WILL thank him later for what he teaches you!
This professor is HORRIBLE. He talks in half sentences and often thinks he is being funny and NO ONE understands what he is saying.Everything I learned in this course was from what I read in the book. He points at graphs and rambles on thinking that he is doing a good job explaining but he is not. One of the worst professors I have taken.
Good ole Proffesor Baine is Non Partisan This si not on the test but you can take that to the bank. Advice Study from the book his lectures are pointless but he does grade on a curve so you will atleast get a C
Good ole Proffessor Baine...says that all day everyday, and aparently he's non partisan. His personallity is hilarious, but the class is pointless. it's best to skip class and study right from the book, or else you will fail the test. He gives a major curve at the end of the semester.
Teaches using a powerpoint. If you want to pass, study the book on your own and look at the powerpoints he puts on blackboard. Not very entertaining. I fell asleep a few times. overall, i didnt learn anything and failed every test. he is nice because he curves all the Fs to Cs
This class is so hard and this teacher is horrible! He blabbers on about who knows what for 45 mins of the class and then tries to squeeze in a lesson at the last minute. He does curve 4/5 tests but the tests have nothing to do with what he says. Stick to the textbook and the power points if you want a C. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE or you'll regret it
If you are jumping into economics then don't take Prof. Baine. He is too much of a genius to explain economics on a newb level. Too many newbs think you can learn this in 17 weeks, you can't. It takes a lifetime. Prof. Baine has lifetime experience doing this in the business world. He has a massive curve on tests. 100-80 A. 79- 60 B. 59-30 C.
Prof. Baine was great! I was always interested in economics and I'm only more so thanks to his tutelage! I look forward to taking his microeconomics class! His style is clear and he knows his stuff. Most competent, overall. Pretty funny, too.
Professor Baine is a great professor, probably to good for Broward College. He teaches economic's at IV league school standards and is very knowledgeable in the area of Economics. If you are trying to get economics out of the way because it isnt part of your major I suggest you take someone else. But if you interested in Economics. Take Him!
You cannot fail this class. He curves 4 of the 5 tests. My 56% turned into a C+. Fail proof class
Very very smart instructor but, I didn't feel he has a connection with the students. Grades on a curve, you cannot fail unless you come to class and just sleep. Very hard subject matter, you really have to study to get an A. Has an odd sense of humor but, I can tell he cares about how the students perceive him. I wish him all the best.
This professor does not know how teach. Class is boring. Cant understand anything he says. I would really suggest to take a different professor. I liked economics in high school but here i couldn't understand anything.
HE IS VERY NICE TEACHER THAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THE SUBJECT BUT I DIDNT REALLY LEARN ANYTHING. I THINK ITS THE WAY HE TEACHES THE CLASS.Grades on a curve, you cannot fail BUT YOU WILL WASTE YOUR TIME
He is a knowledgeable person in his subject but he rants. You most likely will not learn anything in the class unless he writes on the board. Not really a good professor if you truly want to learn.
Amaaaaaazing grader! He curves the living -ish out of the scores. BEYOND AWESOME. Yes he's a little hard to understand but he's still a great professor, nonetheless. He tends to go off topic and makes jokes, here and there. But study the slides and you'll get like a 75% which is an 'A', how can you complain?!
You will for sure pass his class but you will not learn a thing. He puts a huge curve on test. Don't bother taking notes. The class lectures are useless. I recommend teaching your self from the book.
Great class, fairly easy to pass. There are 6 tests in all. No midterm or homework. The final isn't cumulative (it's just on the last 3 chapters he goes over). Syllabus is very clear. He gives you a huge curve on the tests (a C usually = an A) No need for notes. Tests are only on the actual textbook. Read! And he gives all chapter power points :)
Professor Baine seems like a decent guy, but he does NOT know how to teach! 4 tests, a final, 3 extra credit papers, and 1 required paper. There are NO reviews for tests or final, which are very difficult. He gives MAJOR curves (F=C, D=B, C=A) only for the tests, not the final, but he doesn't post test grades anywhere, you find out the next class.
Do your required paper, and extra credit and you will pass. Impossible to fail tests bc of the huge curves he gives the class. Not a guaranteed A or B but if you show up and do all his work you will get a passing grade.
Worst Professor Ever, all he does is tell lame stories all class, he doesnt give reviews for the tests. YOU WILL NOT LEARN A THING!!!! The tests are the hardest things ever. But he does curve. I failed the first two tests but he curved them to a C. Afterwards I dropped, Id rather have a W than a C to drop my GPA..
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! If you actually want to learn, switch professors. He goes off on tangents the whole lecture, it's pointless to even show up. His tests are hard af but he gives such huge curves it's impossible to fail them. My Ds went to A/Bs. Nice guy and you can tell he knows his stuff, but he just doesn't really teach you anything.
Nice guy, very intelligent but he's easily drifts into another conversation. You will pass just do all the assignments and extra assignments
He really knows economics the tests are hard but he gives a HUGE curve on tests. If you just want to pass the class and get an A take him! I'm taking him again next semester for ECO 2023.
If Broward College had more economics classes offered and he was teaching them, I would make sure it happens. Best 75 minutes spent at Central campus understanding human action, as Mises put it, but under the scope of Baine's curriculum. Try not to take him if you're not truly interested, he will bore you and drive you to skip.
His lectures are long and uninteresting. The only thing graded are the exams which are difficult. He doesn't give a study guide or tells you what's on the tests, just lectures then says, "Here you go!" He says everything on the test is on the book, but it's not. I read every chapter twice and still got B's and C's on his tests.
THIS CLASS IS A JOKE. The professor is unhelpful and drifts from conversation. The questions on the test are things that were not covered in class. If you are taking this class to learn take another professor. If you are taking this class for an easy A, he curves all the tests, there is barely any homework, and he's a sucker for excuses.
Best economic prof of all time. You will learn a lot and he makes a dry subject really interesting (unless you are an econ major then it's prob not a dry subject to you, but you'll still love the class). Tough class but the tests have a curve and if you do all your homework and show up to class you'll pass with at least a B Really in depth learning
I never really payed attention in the class, but I passed with a C so I'm okay. He curves every test, not a good thing but it worked for me I need a passing grade. The book sorta helps, he shows powerpoints but it never helps with the test. If interested I have a book on sale for his class.
Professor Baine is a great guy but his powerpoints and lectures have nothing to do with his test. The good thing is his curves will save you if you read and try your best. He has one paper and two extra credit assignments. He kept me entertained with his funny jokes. Not an easy A but try your best and you will pass.
Professor is nice, I found the test hard, the power points weren't that useful in my opinion. Anyways I didn't study at all professor helps you pass easy, take him.
Knows his subject area well. I found that no matter how and what I studied, it did not help my exam grades. This seemed to be the norm for the whole class. He grades on a curve and gives extra credit assignments. His motto is "I am your advocate, not your adversary," and I found this to hold true. Understanding. Funny. I am taking him for EC0203.
Baine is not your enemy! He's your friend! Remember that going into the class, he may seem like a tough grader but overall he's set up a simple system for you to understand his class. It's going to seem like a weird routine that he has at first, but he's an awesome guy and I have no doubt that anybody can pass if they pay attention!
Baine is a respected professor, normal day is notes on a powerpoint usually a chapter a day. after 4 chapters then a test gives little extra credit so take advantage.
Economics is not something that I enjoy and I find the lectures to be very boring. It won't affect your grade if you skip class every now and then. The tests are rather hard. Make sure you read the powerpoints thoroughly and skeem over the textbook, I've found this method to be the most effective. However, he does MAJOR CURVES so don't worry much
Buy the book and read read . You have to teach yourself his tests are hard but you got to read.
Pretty simple teacher. He lectures long and takes up the whole class. Always says he got the "Best Story in Town", but never said that story LOL. Just try to pay attention in his class and the powerpoints won't really help you on the test. Just read over the chapters for that test and you should be straight. But he curves hella nice so don't trip.
He gave 4 multiple choice tests and they were all difficult. He assumed that we all did macro first so we should know what he was teaching. He lectured straight from the textbook and never took the time to explain the material well.
Professor Baine is very knowledgeable in this area of study. He is also very entertaining. Macroeconomics is not easy and the test are challenging. He is a lenient grader when it comes to the test. He also gives extra credit opportunities and I recommend doing all of them. He will pay attention to who gives 110% in his class. Take him and enjoy!!
If you actually want to learn, you probably shouldnt take his class. His lectures are boring and dont help. He curves all his tests, which is a bad thing at the end of the day because it encourages you not to ever put forth any effort. Still, hes a nice guy who knows what hes talking about. You just wont know what hes talking about.
He is the ABSOLUTE WORST! Do not take him. He lectures the entire time about irrelevant things and the tests have NOTHING to do with the lectures. Everyone fails the tests so he curves the test by a lot but it still doesn't help enough. Do not take him. It will be the worst mistake you do.
Professor Baine is a very nice person and professor, however, it's unlikely you will gain anything from his class. His lectures are generally not directly about our lesson and it is a challenge alone to take good notes. The tests also cover a ridiculous amount of material in a really short time period. The bright side is he does curve test grades
One of the greatest and fairest professors I've ever had. He really knows how to motivate people even for boring classes. He was the only professor i took for two different classes. I didn't really have much an interest in economics but he definitely made it interesting. He is very wise and kind to the students.
Hes a good professor but i would honestly only go to class for attendance, you will NOT learn in his class, but he curves test grades allottt!!!!1 so thats a plus.
Personally, I found Professor Baine to be really nice and humble. He's very passionate about what he teaches. The only problem is what he teaches isn't what's on the test. He kinda just rambles on about other things. The powerpoints he posted on d2l weren't even the right ones. You won't learn anything honestly. He does curve tests though.
Professor Baine is so fie, mans helps me keep my head up and I enjoy listening to his lectures even though I have no clue what hes talking about
He's very humble and you can tell he's passionate about what he's doing but I found the tests to be difficult because what he teaches is not even on the tests and he always tends to go off topic. The power points he gave us are not really helpful and don't teach you anything. You honestly don't learn anything.
Don't take him. he is kind and shows his love in eco.. but he's old and very boring. his lectures are never ending and not something you can keep focus on! If you want to learn something and pass save yourself right now! Even though I took him at 8 in the morning, I feel like it would be the same feeling as if I were to take him later in the day.
I took his 8 am class and he was never on time. We would be standing outside between 5-15 mins after class was supposed to start. He also gave us optional assignments to do to be considered to be put toward our final grade. I did them and he didnt use them so that was a waste of time. Dont take him unless you dont have a better choice.
Overall, Professor Baine is a good person but as a professor he's a nightmare. I had his 8 am class and 99% of the time he showed up 20-30 minutes late. The only things that determine your grade are the tests, there is no homework or other graded assignments. You will likely have to teach yourself the material. Do yourself a favor and get the book!
He talks a lot about stuff that has nothing to do with the tests but he curves the test grades so high it's impossible to fail the class. I failed every test and still passed. Only thing is I wish he explained better how to study to at least get a 60 so I get curved to an A. He gives extra credit.
The class was an easy A because you only have 5 grades. 3 tests, a final, and a research paper, which sadly means one bad grade can really hurt you. Since he reads straight from the textbook's powerpoints, it is somewhat hard to learn the information though. Easy class, but if you want to learn the information I would choose a different professor.
Professor Baine was nice. For ECO2013, our grades depended on 5 tests and a singular paper. The paper isnt even graded, it was 7 pages and pass fail because he said it was a requirement. His class essentially consists of him reading off of a powerpoint from the textbook publisher. Id advise against this class with Prof. Baine.
Professor Baine is alright. Took him for ECO2013 online and man was that class lecture heavy. Every class was PowerPoints and honestly felt like I learned nothing. Be prepared to see the same stuff in each class. One extra credit and one mandatory paper (7-pages research paper) Nice guy, but useless notes. Get the textbook and work hard to pass.
