I liked this teacher. She teaches rather fast and it's a lot of learning, however she is always willing to help any student who is struggling. She uses a lot of slide style lecturing (available for you to print before class) and her tests and quizzes are fair and loaded with extra credit! I would recommend!

Hilary is a great instructor who wants students to do well. She is a little fast, but it's only because their is a lot of material to cover. The class is not easy but 201 and 202 are more than double the work so make sure you can do well in this class before moving on. Hilary will prepare you well, take her class and don't miss any days!

She passionate about what she is teaching. She sometimes goes a little fast but has no problem going back or if you don't get something willing to do all she can to help you understand it better. Went in the class not thinking I would enjoy it but have to say one of the best classes I have taken.

It's important to note that I took the 5 week accelerated summer course. Believe me, I worked for my grade from day 1. Hilary is an exceptional instructor, she's always willing to help in any way possible to set the student up for success. With that said, YOU have to put in all of your time and effort to do well. If you can get into Hilary's class, take 201 w her! I took the 5-week summer course worlds better than the semester class I took w another instructor. She has clear expectations, she is always available to help ,and her grading is speedy (you know where you stand a few days after testing). I put in the time, got 100% or more on all examsA+!

Hilary is the BEST prof I've had at both PCC and UA! I agree with others that she's approachable, fair, super helpful, clear, etc. A little more that others haven't touched on: - she's highly organized (she posts announcements everyday so I know what's due and up next), and she's funny (keeps my interest in class). Loved the class and loved her, and not only because she brought donuts to take the sting out of summer class. I also had her for Bio 156 and hope to take her for Bio 202 because she a great instructor in class and communicative outside of class, and I find these two things important for hard classes like biology.

I took Hilary last semester. I took her hybrid class on Sat. It was tough cause I had to do alot on my own but its hybrid. She did extra study sessions & let me go to her T & TH class. She actually CARES! I wish she taught 202! Only take her hybrid 201 if you have the time to dedicate to it, if not take her regular class! She IS AMAZING!

I took Hilary's 5-week summer class, so glad I did! Last year, I tried to take it with another person, wish I signed up for Hilary's section first. She is so passionate about the material bringing positive energy to class. She does online discussions to help for tests, actually says this will be on it. Fast email and grading. Hilary is an amazing teacher and person in general. She is very caring and has a great heart. I took her summer session and it was very difficult. She tries to make it as painless as possible. Highly recommend. Took her for Bio156 and am currently in her Bio201. If you think her tests are hard, it's your own fault. She helps you prepare so thoroughly, you're in good shape if you do what is expected. I earned over 100% on each exam. Bio156 details are 5 tests, 4 projects, 10 quizzes and weekly labs. Very organized and fast grader, too.

Loved the course and loved her! Hilary cares about you and your progress. I am taking someone else for the next class but wish I waited until I could take Hilary's class. Will look for her next time!

I'm taking her hybrid class now and am really enjoying it. Any physiology class is hard and a hybrid is even more difficult because lots of work is out of class. But she makes it doable and is good about confirming you understand everything. Also she lets you pick assignment topics by what interests you. On track to A, and recommend the class!

Hilary is such a great instructor, she really cares that you succeed in her class. It's important to stay on track with studying and reading to stay caught up. She is very smart and really knows this subject very well, she answers every questions you have until she knows you understand it. I wish she taught BIO202 because I would be on that list!

Highly recommend Hilary's hybrid course - I learned more than in a regular class! Details: 3 exams, 3 practicals, 6 quizzes, weekly labs and assignments (you pick topic). Be self-motivated, keep up with the pace, and ask when stuck A! Be sure to ask for help, she has tons of office hours and will explain everything in person if needed. Do it!

This is a 5 week hybrid class. I work full time, and took this class. The course is intense and there is a lot of homework. She is super organized. She has a plan for everything on the syllabus , she was quick to respond to emails. She was very clear with the class direction. She was there a extra hour a day for lab time to answer questions.

I am so glad I took Hilary's class! It was an accelerated summer section and I work an intensive job, which made me nervous about time commitment. But because of her clarity in lectures and preparatory assignments, I was able to get an A even with a busy schedule. It's an A&P class, you have to give lots of effort, but her format makes it possible.

I just finished Hilary's five week summer class, and yes it can be difficult but it is NOT impossible. Hilary will hold office hours, that are very helpful and she is also very helpful over email. Hilary wants to see and help her students be successful and that is exactly what she did. I would absolutely recommend Hilary!

Hilary was absolutely amazing! I took her 5-week summer class, it was very difficult but completely doable. I bombed the first practical and written exam, but I figured out a certain way that helps me retain the information and Hilary was more than willing to help me learn that way. I did well on the last two exams and I still got a B in the class.

I really wanted to take her for 201 but couldn't get in because her class filled so fast.:( I'll be signing up for her 202 as soon as it comes out!

She makes lectures fun and doesn't bore you with monotone lectures. She really wants you to succeed in her class and offers her free time to help with what you don't understand. The lecture and information is heavy but that is what's expected from A & P classes. Study, Study, and Study will lead to a good grade.

Hilary was one of the best teachers I have ever had. Everything she taught, she explained why it applied to our career fields. She explains things very well. Tests are based off of lectures, old tests, quizzes and things she specifically goes over. She will give you the tools you need to pass the class and actually learn the stuff too. She's great!

She is a fantastic teacher and her knowledge of the subject matter is second to none. Her class is tough but you truly understand what you learned. Test are a mixture of multiple choice, matching, and fill in the blank. There is plenty of extra credit opportunities as well. She responds quickly to emails and makes time to help you out.

Wish I was able to select more to describe Professor Wakefield! She is very enthusiastic when it comes to teaching, which makes the classes go by fast and encourages you to pay attention. In order to succeed you have to put the time and effort, but I feel like that's in any classes; especially in a hybrid HA&P class. I highly recommend taking her.

Hillary is an amazing teacher, I took both Bio 156 and Bio 201 with her and got an A+. She goes out of her way to help her students understand the material and she is always available by email to answer any questions. I took her 8 week hybrid course in A&P 1. We didn't start off on the best foot, and honestly I felt like a royal pain in her behind the majority of the time. That being said, she still treated me with respect and showed genuine interest in my development as a student and cares about my intellectual growth. She made a difficult semester a success.

As a student who works at night, Hilarys class was ideal. Its an intense half semester one day in class plus daily at home format with all homework and most exams online. She allows you to use a testing option from home, great taking them at 1AM when I think best. She is passionate, encouraging, organized, fast grader, communicative, awesome!

Very intense class (took the accelerated version), but she is highly knowledgeable, gave great lectures, and gave students chances to catch up. If she sees you trying she will work with you. I was taking other upper level courses along with this so if you study and do all the work, you will do good. She is a understanding and caring teacher.

Not only is she brilliant and really knows the subject, but she knows how to teach it, too. Because of credits expiring for RN program, I had to take this course more than once with different profs, and this was the first time I actually understood action potentials and other hard topics. I will sign up for any class she instructs.

Highly recommend. All anatomy courses are tough, but this prof is dedicated to helping you get through the material, and she organized the class to fit into busy schedules like I have working full time M-F. She gives free book and lab manual. She has several office hours before class. She is willing to go over topics many times until you get it.

This was a tough class with a lot of memorization. Hilary was very tough but always available for help and offered study periods to go work with models and ask questions. Use this time! She provided a lot of the materials online and we didnt really use the book that much lots of lectures though. She encourages students to be on time to class.

REALLY loved this class and instructor. It was all online but I never felt like I was on my own. She keeps you updated almost everyday with announcements, grades, feedback, messages, etc. It is a fast session and hard subject so you have to study but prof Wakefield is seriously the best instructor for me and Ill bet you too.

She cares about your learning and progress, and clearly loves instruction because shes passionate about the material and finds ways to get through to you. Absolutely loved Hilary. I did a hybrid format-1 day lecture,16 weeks, everything else online. Didn't need a text, she provided it. Honestly she's amazing. She knows her stuff, she's easily to meet with or contact outside of class, but you have to definitely do the readings and study hard-she really teaches to every learning style. She's great!

I took it in the 8-week format out of necessity and was very nervous about it because it is a HARD class. LOTS to cover! Not only was this class accelerated but it was a hybrid as well. Hilary was outstanding! I took an accelerated hybrid 8 week course which was extremely challenging, however Hilary gives all the required materials to succeed. She creates activities to grasp the concept and has you build a study guide to help you study for the exams. She is very knowledgeable on the topics and she always responds to emails fast!

I took Hilary on the spring 2019, for the 8 weeks fast track anatomy class. All I have to say is that if you wan to succeed in her class you will. She cares about you and its always available to answer questions. If you're taking this class in less than 16 weeks... GOOD LUCK. I think the key is studying and memorization. Flash cards are your best-friend. Hilary is great and she offers help if you need it. Just don't skip class or waste her time cause I find that she kinda holds a grudge. Other than that I think the class isn't so bad once you're through.

I took the 8 week class that meets on Saturday's and it was worth it! I am retaking this class and I already knew she was an awesome professor but was still kinda on edge because of the 8 week quick course. Definitely recommend her if you want to succeed. Hilary wants you to get an A in her class as much as you want the A. She is always available if you need her, and is very patient and helpful with any questions you have. She wants you to learn, so she often lets you correct your work for credit. It's a tough class that you have to work for, but she is on your side the whole way.

Took her for Bio 201, 8- week course and she's AMAZING! She explains the material so well and also draws pictures. The quizzes and tests are directly from the slides and she offers lots of extra credit. She's clear on deadlines so nothings a surprise. I HIGHLY recommend her. I took the 8 week course, and I have to admit it was a very challenging class! There was a lot to do each week, but it was definitely doable with the time given. If I ever emailed her about a question I had, she emailed back within a short amount of time with help! She honestly does love getting emails asking for help! You will learn a lot!

I loved Professor Wakefields online BIO160 class. She provides the text book material via D2L with interesting videos to help you learn the material in engaging ways! She provides a lot of extra credit opportunities. The course is challenging, but if you put in the effort and work hard, getting an A is absolutely possible! Great professor!!!!!!!!

This was actually my first college class & having to take it online was intimidating, but Hilary (how she preferred to be called) made it wonderful & kept the entire course so well organized/informative. This class is my first class and I was very nervous. But Hilary created a comfortable environment to ask and explore. Discussions were used to teach us how to analyze information scientifically. She was also extremely prompt on grading assignments which helped me to see where I needed to improve. I would recommend this class.

The class is a solid course that does a good job applying the principles of what you learn in biology to day life. The course is discussion heavy( posting to a d2l board.) I did like the team took the time to build there own text rather then making you buy an expensive text book! The professors is very responsive to email at any time or day!

Took fully online. Fast to respond to emails. Quizzes are 15 questions in 15 minutes which sounds stressful but its really not. Everything is also open book, but the questions are formatted in such way that open book doesn't mean you can go into the test without studying. Study a good amount and class is an easy A

I truly love her, she is willing to help you succeed if you really want to. I have never had a professor like her before and trust me SHE IS AMAZING. Her class is a little tough but it is doable. I believe having Hilary as my professor attributed to my success in this course. She is really quick to answer any questions, she explains material in great detail, and assigns homework that really helps to solidify your knowledge on the topics so by the time you take a quiz or exam you are completely prepared. Professor Wakefield used various methods to help us learn and retain a lot of material in an 8wk course. The discussion forum is a critical part and requires participation however, it yields exceptional benefits if you use it. The class blends conventional written lecture material as well as videos and exercises to help with greater retention.

Hilary was the best College professor I have ever had! She actually wants to help you succeed in the class and is happy to give further assistance if needed! She gives lots of extra resources on her topics and her class layout is very organized! All of her feedback is helpful and she has a sense of humor which I loved!! Highly recommend her class!!

THE BEST anatomy instructor! Her resources are clearly organized, and everything is FREE. She is responsive and ALWAYS happy to help. I would not have learned as much if I didn't take her class. I feel prepared for the next class, even though I know it's going to be difficult. I hope she teaches my other biology classes so I can take her again.

I am so glad I had Dr. Wakefield for biology. I took BIO156IN/BIO201IN with her last year and I miss the fun activities and organized courses she provided. These subjects are hard, but her class is an effective way to learn. I just got my acceptance letter to the nursing program, I wanted to come back here to say her classes set me up for success.

Awesome professor and the most organized class I've had! All the chapters and labs are in the site, you don't need to buy anything. She was willing to meet with me to go over things even though it's an online class. She keeps you constantly updated. I wouldn't take anyone else for anatomy and physiology because Hilary was exceptional. 10/10!!!!!

Def take her! Fantastic person and course. The fastest grading and emailing I've experienced in three semesters. She cares about your education and motivates you to care. Do every assignment and discussion because they will prepare you for tests. Anatomy is hard, but if you want to really learn and be respected as a learner, this prof is for you.

Hilary has been my favorite instructor at Pima! She is passionate about the topic, and motivates me to learn. Her course site has consistency making it straightforward to navigate. The deadlines are also predictable taking the guesswork out of if/when something is due. I found the most valuable quality is her clear communication. Highly Recommend!

Ms. Wakefield was an amazing professor. One of the few that I truly enjoyed. She was very informative and responded quickly to any emails or questions that I had. Super understanding when issues with home interfered with homework. If I had any issues she was super informative and helpful to assist me with understanding my confusion.

I absolutely loved and enjoyed having Hilary as my professor! She was not only extremely fun, caring, and enthusiastic as an instructor, but she was incredibly fair and always willing to work with me and my accommodations. I really appreciated that she gave regular updates and reminders when assignments were due as well. Love her!

Hilary's classes are great, I've taken more than one from her. The expectations are VERY clear, and as long as you follow the clear instructions and DO THE WORK, you will succeed. It is not a cake class, but you will learn and do well if you try. Critical thinking is required, but it is all worth it to have her as a teacher.

Bio 201 takes hard work and dedication having Hilary as a professor will help you succeed and reach your goals.I took the 8 week summer course which has weekly 10 question quizzes and only 3 exams. Hilary cares about her student very much and wants each and everyone to be successful. Having her as a professor was a wonderful experience.

Hilary is one of my favorite professors! The class itself is hard but she is very understanding and encouraging. I definitely would take her class again. As long as you are on top of all the assignments you can get an A.

I made this account just to rate Hilary. She is one of the best instructors I have ever taken a class with. This is a challenging class, lots of reading and studying, but expectations are very clear. Hilary is extremely assessible and wants to see her students succeeding, she's with you every step of way. Would gladly take another course with her.

Hilary is the best instructor I have ever met. Even for the online course, you can still tell that she is well-organized and knows the big picture. If you turn in your homework early, she grades early and gives you prompt feedback. The discussion board is well-designed to make you involved in most of the topics, and you can actually learn from it.

LOVED her class for lots of reasons, but the most important for me is communication style of Dr Wakefield. I have never received so many valuable comments on my homework, ones that actually helped me improve on exams. This is a tough class, like all anatomy's, but having someone connect with me several times a week made all the difference. TAKE HER

Hilary is an excellent instructor! The 201 curriculum is tough, but she gives you all the tools necessary to succeed and truly learn the material. She is quick to email back and answers questions thoroughly. She also takes the time to give feedback on homework and is very encouraging and positive! 10/10 recommend her class. I wish she taught 202.

Prof. Wakefield not only demonstrates a genuine care for her students, but she goes above and beyond to make herself accessible outside of class. Despite the challenging nature of the course material, she is able to break it down in a way that is easy to understand and digest. Her feedback is insightful and constructive.

Hilary is an amazing professor! I thoroughly enjoyed her class.There are quite a few items due weekly but that's nothing I wouldn't expect from a college level class, gives clear guidelines on expectations from the get go and as long as you read the text weekly and check off all the boxes while really applying what you've learned, it is an easy A.

Hilary is by far the best professor! 201 was an intense course but that's expected for learning about the human body. She gives clear, concise instructions with weekly tasks, she's so incredibly caring and as long as your apply yourself and ask questions when you need help you can get an A! Very helpful with prep for exams. 10/10 would recommend!

Professor Wakefield was a great instructor. She's really good about reaching out quickly if you email her. There was a lot of work but I took the 8 week course. She is also a quick grader if you let her know that your assignment is turned in. The exams are difficult but doable, and they don't make of break your grade if you do everything else well.

Hilary was awesome!! She gives detailed feedback after each assignment, and genuinely cares about what she's teaching. She ensures that you learn the material, and is very receptive to any questions. This course was fairly graded, too--it is definitely achievable to get an A as long as you put in the effort. Overall, I loved taking this class!

Best professor I've had! She is caring and always willing to help. She responds quickly to emails. She truly wants to see you succeed in her class. This professor is amazing! She is very easy to get ahold of outside of the class and does give you feedback throughout the course. She makes her own content so you're tested on her materials. I really think she gives assignments for easy points so make sure you do them. She makes the learning fun. I would definitely take her class again!!

This teacher was fantastic. She knows her material and when you ask for help, you get it. She also offers extra credit all through the semester. TAKE HER CLASS AND PAY ATTENTION!

My first professor for online school: expectations were clear, class was structured, open source materials were used, and professor was available and responsive during the business week, couldn't have asked for more!

I got a B in this class but that's because I missed a part of a high point assignment. SHE IS AMAZING! Will answer all of your questions. There is a lot of work for this class and you HAVE to read the syllabus and follow directions. If you do that you're golden! Open note exams.

She is now one of my favorite teachers. She was super understanding and accomodated me when something was turned in incorrectly and she answers emails very quickly. Class content is not hard, just put some effort into your assignments and you will do well! She's the best.
