His test are mostly definitional so they are easy. He is very unclear and his accent throws you off, so don't expect to learn much. A hard project in the end but you can work with a group.

This class was terribly boring. The man did not speak English and taught straight out the textbook. The upside is attendance is optional. You can get a good grade by just studying on your own and taking the tests.

The last post summarized him pretty good so I will rewrite what he said. Very hard. 6-7 Chapters per test which you have to memorize everything to do well. I have a 3.5 EPA and I felt this course was extremely time comsuming and that he tries to make it hard. By putting things on slides that do not appear in the book and putting that on the test.

3 tests here are the averages for the entire class no curve: 1st test 70 2nd test 82 3rd test 71. so the average for the entire class is 74.3

one of the worst prof in baruch. he basically just read directly out from the slides. tests are very tricky, all stuffs are on the book. his lecture doesn't really have anything helpful for the tests. no attendence needed.

I am not even sure why he is still teaching. Useless! Worst professor in my entire schooling experience.

He asked students to bring a friend so the number of students in his class exceed 45 students which will pay him twice as much for teaching larger class. He literally said this. If he were a good teacher, that wouldn't have been a problem. His ignorance to students needs is SO annoying. If I could I will kick him out of school. Total disaster!

IT was HORRIBLE! He plays with a mouse and lights for 40 minutes every lecture! Useless lectures, useless slides. Explains nothing. Very dubious tests. Easy subject though- to get an A, you need to study 4 hours before each test- read the book. But you have to waist your time at these STUPIDEST and USELESS lectures! not recommended

Do not take him if you are very dependent on teachers. He won't teach you anything, you'll have to learn everything yourself. Tests are easy, but he is going to come up with questions as "who was the guy I was telling you about during the last lecture." He curves though. if you read the book you are getting an A for sure.

DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO HIS EASINESS. Boring Class. Handouts and lessons are useless. No blackboard. MUST READ TEXTBOOK TO PASS. His exam questions are confusing. If he can't teach on time, he forces a lesson on the day of the exam and then you take it, leaving no time for you to study the last chapter he covered. AVOID AT ALL COST. F'ed my GPA.

He once mentioned that he will boost up the grade for those who attend class for half a grade.I had almost perfect attendance, my midterms average from lecture was B+ and I had A- average in my recitation class, so I at least expected A-, if not A, however got B. Now I have to waste my time to find out why. Class extremely boring and unorganized!

STAY AWAY!!! Exams are confusing, majority questions are neither from the book, nor from his lectures. HIs questions would be like - AS mentioned in our class - however 90% of his questions are probably from his other classes, and he doesn't even remember what in which class he was talking about... He has a thick japanese accent, making his english hard to listen. He reads off his slides. Moves through slides too quickly, can't take notes; but the exams HAVE NOTHING to do with the notes, just the textbook. Only first ten minutes of class are useful; he discusses current events that will be on the exams. he doesn't answer students' questions.

Dont take him, boring and tricky teacher. His tests questions arent clear, probably because he translates it from japanese. Lectures and His tests count for 2/3 of the grade and recitation where u work your but off only for 1/3. He also pays a lot of attention to attendance, he took it 10 min before last class ending, when most of people left

There are four exams, he drops the lowest grade. His accent is thick, and goes through powerpoints each lecture. His tests are based on only from the textbook, and some current events he mentions in class. The current events are easy if you are up-to-date on keeping up with the media. Just read the textbook, and you are on your way for a high grade

You work hard all semester, attend class, take tests, and study, and in the end, it's not worth it. Those that did well throughout the semester, gets the same grade of those who did bad throughout the semester. There is no point in trying, because no matter your grades, you pass with flying colors. Thus, you'll never learn anything in this class.

Archaic and out of touch with modern technologies. Always says "cutting-edge" when he does know the answer. Avoid him.

I'm not sure that he actually understands anything. His lectures and tests are ripped straight from the textbook (which isn't that well written) and if you ask him any questions that can't be answered yesno or with a textbook definition, he won't even understand your question. Fortunately the class is a joke, otherwise this would be a nightmare.

ADVICE: Test 1,2, 4 Study the textbook, review the slides, know the current events from class. Test 3 most challenging test but most emphasis is on the slides, less on the textbook

Just a gigantic lecture with straightforward material. He just doesn't teach it very well because he is really difficult to hear. His accent doesn't help either. My advice would be to sit in the front, except he walks around the entire room so people can hear him, but that actually doesn't work in this case. Just study the text book.

Lol this professor is really nice but he's not a good teacher. Textbook is unnecessary and just study the slides and try your best to listen to his current events that he discusses during lectures. If you do that, you'll do great on the exams. Final was optional and got an A in the end. Easy, but very annoying class.

4 tests. DEATHLY LONG LECTURES BECAUSE HES SO BORING IT HURTS. You NEED to basically memorize everything in his slides which is about 80 slides per chapter AND read the textbook chapters. Last test was the easiest in my opinion. YOU MUST STUDY OR YOU WONT GET A GOOD GRADE. Not a breeze because time consuming but not difficult material AT ALL.

I'm midway in this class, and learnt nothing whatsoever. His explanation is, "What is that or why is this?" Know it for the test, but what is it? It's relatively easy to pass the tests, but you learn literally nothing from him. Textbook and his slides which are poor, but they help to an extent. But him teaching the material, I'm sailing ships.

Bad Professor, couldn't understand a word from the lectures. You must self-learn from the textbook because his lectures is a waste of time. He does take attendance from blackboard. On a side note he does curves grades. But you will never find out your final exam grade.

Avoid if possible. Accent is EXTREMELY difficult to understand. He's not at all helpful fixing situations that he caused (Like putting the wrong test date on the syllabus and not let us take it earlier because he moved it way up).

Professor doesn't know how to use zoom nor blackboard. We've had two exams on blackboard that just didn't work because of technical errors. On one of our retakes, he still managed to mess up the exam so we had to wait a while to take the exam. This course is really just self study. He has an accent so it may be hard to understand what he's saying.

His grading policy is absolute trash, the "average" for the class needed to be an 80 and he'd take points away if the class did well. He did not respond to emails, never communicated with the recitation profs. So garbage.

Stupidest grading policy. He wants the class average to be an 80. That's basically a B-. Even if you did well, your grade will be curved drastically down. He gave a negative curve of 5 points on one test and 7 points another. Strongly do not recommend. I only did well because of my recit teacher. Lectures are extremely boring and hard to focus.

He is a terrible professor who is unprofessional and doesn't respond to his students' emails on important manners. In addition, there is this blasphemous "80/82" policy that makes all of the exam grades have a downward curve. Everyone lost 7-10 points on the final exam just because the class average was high. He is inconsiderate, it's ridiculous.

Unprofessional professor I've ever taken at Baruch College. He doesn't know how to use Zoom correctly, announces things the last minute on Blackboard regarding exams. EVEN worse, thinks it's a good idea to interfere with students' time by having a make-up exam. His lectures are super boring. Avoid if possible.

So many zoom interruptions from outsiders, foolishly made the first test at the same time for over 300 people causing the test to crash and had to redo it. Kept dodging questions on the many issues we were having. Gave us a negative curve because we did well. Easy class, terrible teacher.

terrible professor. He curves the class to a B-. For example, if the class avg on a test is 85 but the curve centers around 82, he deducts 3 from everyones score. Makes it impossible to get an A even tho you could get 100 on every test. 3 tests, recitation has work as well. steer clear and save your 4.0 if you have it. I would give 0/5 if I could.

His lectures are long and boring and his teaching style is ineffective. But the stupidest part about the class is the curving. Yes, he does curve down. On the Final my 90 was turned to a 85. Avoid.

He just reads off slides and adds a few current events that will be questioned on the exams. He also doesn't post class recordings for the whole class so if you missed something then I hope you made friends on zoom. It's just him rambling on and on so prepare to teach yourself.

Be ready to struggle. Being 2 seconds late and had to ask for not failing and giving grade. exams are based on his speech. Get chugg as well lmao.

This is by far the worst professor at Baruch. Please stay away from this old man if you care about your grade. He is cold hearted and will have no problem failing you.

Professor Takada has earned a reputation for being highly resentful of a challenging learning experience. His lectures are boring and his grading policy is terrible.

Avoid Bus 2000 with him. The class sucks overall, but with a decent prof, you can do ok. He claimed his exams are the hardest in the department. Based current events and 160slides. Can never contact him outside of class. Messed up everyone's final mark end of sem. 100+ students complained/contacted the dean. If you wanna keep a decent GPA avoid him

Got this class minute after being waitlisted, and immediately understood why this class was one of the only ones left available. If you can choose to have a different professor, anyone else would be best. Only graded on the exams, one dropped. Textbooks and slideshows are used, but the exam is focused mainly on what he says during his lectures.

He switched the exams and attendance from online to on paper due to the wifi in the lecture room being too weak to use. His syllabus said that he takes the final grade off a letter grade for 3 absences but never mentioned or at least specifically mentioned continuously taking off a letter grade for every class you miss after 3. Affected a lot of us

Open slides, read upcoming chapters (4x25 pages), note questions for clarity, attend consistently, complete SAM projects, and recitation final paper early, make sure to attend and participate. Read the book, please! The good thing is that he gives extra points based on the class average score on every exam!

This professor has a heavy accent that is barely understandable. Terrible lecturer and only reads off of slides. Moves quickly without going back to check if everyone has followed along adequately. His slides don't make sense and nobody feels prepared for his exams.

This professor is very unhelpful. Instituted helping and giving extra credit he decided to fail students if they failed in the Recitation class. Also using his examples on exams that aren't on silders.
