Ms. Ly is SUCH a great teacher!! I've never understood math like this before... She goes over as many HW questions as you need, she's VERY nice and makes it really easy... You can tell she loves Math.

Hands down one of the best math professors I've had. She makes you understand the material by reviewing a lot. The subject itself is not super easy but you can still manage to get an A if you study. Having trouble learning math? she can help you. Whenever you don't understand what she is teaching, just ask. She is willing to help you after class if you need help. Her tests are pretty much easy since she will tell you what will be on the test. Don't forget to take notes during her test review because the test will be so similar to it.

She's really helpful and she can make you understand math. What i like most about her is that she doesn't call on people to answer math problems.She speaks English fluently but she has some accent, no big deal because you'll understand her. She's awesome!

I hated math but Ly really helps you understand everything. Her tests are super easy and she is really fair. There are 5 tests (60 % of grade) and a final (30 % of grade)and she counts the homework if you do it. She is so cute in her own way, she always makes the class laugh just by being herself. Coming from someone who hates math - she is a good professor to take. Here's why. She reviews before each math test (there are 6 quizes). If you pay attention and take notes then you will know what will be on the test. She goes too fast in her lectures though. It was hard to keep up and there's tons of homework.

Eventhough she is part time teacher, I firmly recommend to enroll her class. U will be satisfied without her office hour. Her lecture is little bit past, but u can ask her after finishing Class. I don't know anthing about Algebra.All I remember was Arithmetic that I had learned 10 years ago fr.different country,but she helped me learned it!This professor is ready to help as long as you let her know.Stay in class AWAKE,and you will learn.She gave review before every test so student can prepare.It's not hard as long as you take notes&review.

She is a wonderful teacher. Her english is decent, she does have a slight accent but she speaks clearly. She will also explain and really try to help you understand the problems, if you dont get it. Take Notes! Ask Questions and if you dont understand, ASK, she will help.

Professor Ly is awesome. I have always struggled with Math. But, everything clicked when I took Math with her. I understood, and even suprised myself with my scores. She does give a decent amount of homework. However, you usually have about a week to finish it. I didn't mind this, some might but she doesn't drop any tests. Definitely recommend!

Great professor! I just took her for Summer 2014! She rocks! She explains everything so clearly and if you have any questions ASK! She does not show annoyance when you ask her questions (math related or personal). I love when she says, "Get it?" after explaining something. Seriously take her! :D

She's nice and if you have a question you just ask and she'll over it again and again till you get it write. Notes are fairly important for homework. Hw is due by end of the week and all written. We go over a study guide before the actual test and the study guide really helped. Test can be fairly easy if you understand the material.

This teacher can help when you ask. She reviews before we take the test one day before and on test day even though that she's not that easy. She still makes the problems hard on the test.

I LOVED THIS PROFESSOR. She has an accent but very understandable. Try to participate during her lectures. I took her class at night from 7-9:30 pm and I never slept through any of her lectures. Goes to show how engaging her class is. She reviews the day before and of the test. She will answer any question you may have.

One of the best! She really tries to break things down so that it's easier to understand & she gives partial credit on exams. Homework is a must! You're looking at 2-3 sections of a chapter a day. No quizzes but reviews for exams class before! She will always answer questions & is available after class for help! All written hw & sticks to syllabus!

Disclaimer, I received an F in her class, however, this does not disregard the reality that Professor Hoa Ly is a tremendous educator and an individual who sees to achieve the best for her students. The exams are very simple in terms of questions, but make sure you ask a lot of questions prior to the exam.

The professor was great. I took Winter 2017 with a Monday- Friday class. We had a unit test every Friday and our homework packet was to be turned in every Monday. She does have a thick accent but still understandable. She loves math and is always willing to help if you only ask. I really recommend her if you are taking the class serious.

I took Math 125 with her during the Summer, awesome professor. Her experience and her genuine interest in Math reflect in her lectures. TAKE HER.

Lectures are super easy to understand and organized. Rarely make any mistakes. Gives you a list of all HWs at the beginning, so you can work on it on your own schedule. Really great professor. I am one of those who sucks at math but she explained it really easy and doesn't assumes that you know it already. She will teach you the basic and steps to make it easier. You will see she is very passionate about Math and also cares about the students. I didn't get an A but I started this class barely knowing anything.

Professor Ly, was one of the best Professors I've ever had ! She is caring and explains everything over and over again until everyone get it. I didnt pass this class with an A bc I didnt do as well on the tests as I accepted but it def is possible to pass with one. Shes the best math professor Ive had in college. I went into precalc trig without knowing anything and I left w so much knowledge. Def take her you wont regret. ( oh and she reviews before her tests so thats a plus)

She gives very clear review guides for the tests, always goes through everything until you get it. The final was supposed to be comprehensive, but since we only had two hours, she dropped the matrix problems and then some. Taking her class was the best decision I made that semester.

Shes great at teaching math and an incredibly organized professor. Her lectures study guides prepare you really really well for what is going to be on the quizzes. If you do your homework and study you WILL get an A. Her class made me realize Im actually good at math!!

Probably my favorite math professor from PCC so far. The only thing I would say personally is that if you arent confident in taking a bunch of workload in a small amount of time, I suggest you take MATH 008 with her in Fall or Spring; Ive been falling behind because of other commitments as well as still having to be in quarantine.

Her online class is made up of hw and tests only. Ive never been great at math but ive done fairly well in her class. tests are taken on zoom for 1 1/2 hrs when done u have 1 1/2 hr to submit. Theres no curve but shes pretty lenient also does not accept late assigns. Her lectures arent too great so its kinda self teach but there are resources.

She made math so easy. She teaches very clearly, is patient, caring, and always super friendly. She really has a way with her students and if you're worried that you won't do well in math, then she is a great professor for you

Alright, took it online and keeping it simple. HW isn't worth much so this class tests grade heavy. She provides a study guide before every test and its almost identical as she changes the numbers, a hard grader tho because I showed 1 step a little wrong and that's 6 points gone. Nice person but there are better options I think. Solid choice tho.

I was blessed to have Prof. Ly for precalc trig over winter and she made me wonder why I ever worried. Though the class was quick-paced because of the 5-week course, Prof. Ly's lectures were very thorough and she is extremely patient and understanding. She even offers to meet with students before class to cover material that you need more help on!

Fast paced summer class with tons of material. The class was at night, and the professor kept the energy high and was excited and engaged to teach She inspired me by sharing stories about mathematicians and was patient and detailed in answering our questions. She reviews and helps with the tests before, during, and after the exam. I now love math!

Prof. Ly is a good professor who is pretty good at teaching. Her teaching style consists of lectures and optional homework (which you should do for practice). Her practice tests are VERY similar to the actual ones so do them over and over again. Your grade is only made up of the exams so make sure to do well on them. Overall a good experience.

Professor Ly cares about her students and has office hours before class to go over homework problems. She will guide students during tests and help if students forget certain formulas. She goes over material plenty of times in class and before tests. Tests are the main grading criteria.

Grade is made up of 4 tests and a final. She gives out test reviews which are identical to the test, just have different numbers. Class is super easy just need to make sure you do not mess up on any of the tests as that can easily tank your grade.

This is not coming from the Professor herself lol, I genuinely believe she is a great Professor and is easy to work with for all types of students. She doesn't assign mandatory homework and literally gives you study guides that are the exact same as the exams. What more could you ask for? I say definitely take her if you have the chance.

Don't let my grade be a reflection on this professor. Overall, Professor Ly was a good teacher. while 60% of the grade were exams, the practice exams were REALLY similar to the real exams, and you don't need to do the homework. I had 3 winter classes, and Linear was not an easy subject. On the bright-side, she explained the math of linear well.

Only 4 exams and one final. HW optional. Amazing lecturer. Had an engaging voice and explained every step concisely for every type of problem. The exams were exactly like the study guide but with different values. She is also very willing to answer questions and give you extra help. Practice the study guides over and over and you'll get an A.

If you have to take Math 003, take professor Ly! She's honestly one of the best experiences I've had with a math teacher, and she ensures that students understand the concepts behind what she teaches. In high school, I wasn't amazing in math, but in her class I've seen my improvement through the tests. Her study guides and office hours are helpful!

Professor Ly had a really easy, but boring, MATH10 class. After the first exam, all her lectures were just her going over the practice exam (identical to real exams, but with different numbers) and not providing a deep understanding of the concepts. Homework was optional and I never did it. Just go over the practice exam and you will get an easy A.

Try to interact with her during class, you might get curves if you are close to the next letter grade. Her tests are basically different numbers of the test review, she's not hard. Definitely first choice for math if possible, and she does a great job on explaining, her explanation are very detailed.

The study guide is very similar to the exams. Definitely the easiest linear algebra professor PCC offers. Homework is not required too.

Took winter class, basically all grades were from the exams. They were nearly identical to the practice exams she covered in class, just with different numbers. She's a little picky about showing work, but perfectly doable if you memorize the problem-solving procedures.

She is an amazing Professor who absolutely cares about the success of the students who try. She is so kind that she will help guide you through the questions-- during the exams-- if you ask.
