I think she is hilarious. She is very nice and isn't mean at all. I don't know what these people are saying about her being bad. She makes i easy to understand her class i think.

I noticed that a majority of the comments weren't very positive. 1st of all, I just gotta say that for having this class @ 7:00AM in the morning, it isn't bad! True she has an accent, but it wasn't THAT difficult to understand her! 2nd of all, she is really nice & tries to help you when you need it.

this class is super easy, just go to class and do your homework. She is a bit unlcear at times, but she does her best to make it work.

@ first I was worried b/c of her accent, but she is super smart & really good @ what she does.She is willing 2 help u ALL the time. I went 2 practically all her office hrs & she literally will spend the time helping u w/ the HW. She really is interested in those that put forth effort and will put forth her best to help you. Easy class especially for those who are not good at math. Do hw to practice and finish her study guides. Her study guides are like her tests. So finish the guides in class and if u have any questions dont hesitate to ask she's always willing to help you. She sweet and pretty funny. Also attend class because u never know when there will be a quiz.

sweet, helpful teacher. but she moves at an accelerated pace compared to other calc classes. her tests span 2 chapters whereas other classes only get tested on 1. studying her reviews before tests definitely pay off.

She is one of the BEST teachers here! She is so freaken funny and because she wants you to TRULY understand the course she doesnt BS like other math teachers with stupid rules and stuff. She shows you the short cuts and easier way to understand math. SHE RULES!!

She is the best math teacher Ive ever had. She's hilarious!!! She wants all the students to do well, so she doesnt make it hard for you to understand-she shows you the shortcuts, so its really easy. She also jokes around with you in class alot to try to make it fun. SHE KICKS A**!!!!

Gr8 teacher! She follows her syllabus, which lists out which lesson u'll learn each day, and when u'll be taking quizzes and exams; so u'll never be wondering what u'll be doing in class prior to going. Attendance is very important not only for quizzes and exams, but also for chapter lessons because she lectures almost every day. Cool&super nice!!!

although i could never understand what she was trying to say, but she is a good teacher overall. shes really funny and she brought us cookies on the final day, gotta give credit for that

She is very sweet and funny. You can tell she loves the subject and tries very hard to get students interested in math. Just go to her office hours for help, and she will help! Her reviews and test preps are really helpful too. She grades fairly, and really tries to help the student get as many points as possible. I would take her class again!

Don't give up on her because of her accent. You will definitely become used to it. She is very nice and funny. She loves her subject. We did not use the book but used the class notes. Dont buy the book. It was pretty easy and I'm bad at math!! We do 10 point quizzes every friday and she give out 5 extra credit points for the test reveiw sheet.

Great teacher. WARNING: WILEYPLUS IS A MAJOR PAIN. THEY WILL ARBITRARILY CHANGE THE FORMAT ON YOU. When multiplying x by y, think you can put "xy"? Well, sometimes you can. Other times it has to be "x(y)", or "x*y", or even "(x)y". The point is, if you don't answer it the way they want you to, you'll get it wrong. Otherwise, the teacher is fine.

Great teacher! Super easy! Couple of quizes here and there, but the class was great! Some of her jokes are actually really funny! I would retake her anyday!

I recommend you take this class. She's a great teacher and really wants you to get the best grade possible. It's important that you attend every class or else you miss a lot. Great teacher, take her class.

She is very nice and helpful. Go to her office hours before the quiz day will help you a lot. She gives out study guide and goes over them. Generous grader. Not an EASY A class but it is impossible to fail that class.

Very sweet and helpful teacher! She will assume you understand the material if you don't say anything, so don't be afraid to ask questions during or after class. Definitely a lot of homework (online)and quizzes, but all the assignments definitely helped me for the test. She offers some extra credit during the semester if she sees people struggling.

She is such a sweeheart. She tried to be funny to make math fun. It's definitely a class you need to study for. She has weekly quizzes that if you study the notes and do all the homework you will do fine. Participating in class gives you a lot of brownie points and she gives extra credit every once in awhile for attendance.

Weekly quizzes. Make sure to show up to class every day or you might get a little lost since she's very fast paced. Helpful if you go to office hrs she gives extra credit randomly if you attend class so I would suggest showing up. Overall pretty good, grades tough though

She is a great teacher although her accent is hard to understand. It takes you sometime to adjust. Her tests are hard but logical. I you are a picky grammar person then I wouldn't recommend her class because you would be very frustrated. She genuinely wants us to pass so don't be afraid to ask her for help. Attendance is mandatory, you need to come to class every week. Weekly quizzes, midterms, final and a lot of homework. Homework is done online, it is very long and hard, but it definitely helps you for the tests! She is so sweet and ready to help you. If you have a question do not hesitate to go to her office hours!

She is such a great professor! The class is tough, if you miss a day, you miss A LOT of information that is crucial for tests! I took a saturday class for 4 hours but she made it bearable by integrating stories into the lessons and giving small breaks. Her accent is not a problem at all! Overall, she is really sweet and wants you to pass!

You have to show up for each class session or you're going to do poorly in the class because you're going to miss a TON of information. I took her math 115 class on Fridays for 4 hours straight. Definitely a challenging class, especially, with the online wileyplus homework, but overall she's a good teacher and knows the information really well.

Really hard class but just study and do the homework! The homework is really important and will help you a lot. Also, do the study guide, I didn't but it looked like it helped everyone else lol. Study and do hw, can't emphasize that enough

she's amazing! does all her notes her self, provides study guides, and gets your test/quizzes back to you the next class meeting! she's really funny as well, she tries to share stories if she has the time. she FLIES through material and doesn't skip chapters or sections like other teachers do. she really cares though! go to office hours as well!

really cares for students. she's a lenient grader and she knows it, but she is detail oriented and will dock points if you don't have correct notation! it does get difficult, but the notes and study guides are KEY to knowing how to navigate the exams!! study guides count as extra credit so do them because they really do help and it's a bonus.

wants to save students money, she really cares. online homework is a pain because there are so many typos!! you DON'T need the book! save yourself the money. (you only need it if you're going to use it to look up typos in the homework) just buy the webassign pass, it's only like 20 or 25 dollars.

Prof. Quyen is a lenient grader and is very good at explaining the material. She responds to emails promptly. As always, you need to put in effort and apply yourself. Practice, ask questions, and do the bloody homework! There are several quizzes, three tests, some extra credit, a project and cumulative final. The lowest quiz is dropped, however.

She is an amazing professor. There is six quizzes and a group project. The homework is easy and online. There are three exams before the final exam. She takes attendance everytime. Dont really have to study to pass the class, overall a easy class.

One of my favorite math teachers ever. Her notes and lectures are easy to understand however if you miss class then you will fall behind very quickly. Homework assigned every class but correlates to the lectures well. Study guides and their solutions given for every class and very helpful.

So far, my favorite prof! She really cares for her students and wants us to do well. Her notes are clear, and if you have questions, she answers them well. As long as you practice the notes, you should be good for the test. Homework can be tough, but it's not too bad. I barely used the textbook, so you might not need it.

She is an amazing teacher who really cares about your education. She is always willing to help and pushes you to work together and ask for help. This class was easy for me because I already knew some algebra, trig, and calc. As long as you try, then you'll be a-okay.

She's a hilarious teacher but hard to understand because of her accent. It is a relatively easy class if you are a math-minded person. There are 3 tests, 3-4 quizzes, and 1 final exam. She grades VERY leniently and assigns homework also every class. Pay attention in class and take good notes and you are guaranteed to pass.

out of csuf 135 professors, she's the best. she speeds through lecture bc theres alot to cover. don't be scared to ask questions, what you learn in the beginning of the semester will be the foundation for the rest of semester. for exams, i only studied her review guide, never the class notes and passed. you need the textbook to do some hw problems.

Math 135 is a tougher course in general but Professor Q really cares and wants you to succeed. There are 3 exams and 1 Final. If you show up to class and take good notes, you will be fine.

Good Professor really knows the material, tries her best to teach online. Ask questions if confused!! Quizzes every week, gives a few extra credit options, tries her best to teach concepts and get students to understand it

Pretty tough class but she ended up curving at the end even though she said she wouldn't at the beginning of the semester. Really generous with partial credit so if even if you don't get the correct answer on exams or quizzes due to miscalculation or something you can still get a good score if you show work. Plenty of extra credit and easy project

For in-person classes, this professor is amazing. Although attendance is not required, showing up to class is important since the class will be somewhat easy as long as you show up to class to take notes and do your homework (as in actually doing your homework and not using Chegg for the answers) because it will help a whole lot.

She's sweet and seems like she cares, but the course is hard and being online makes it harder. She has a lecture vid (roughly 30-40 min) that you have to watch before every class. You have hw/notes to complete along with it. On zoom, you have the class note portion to complete as she's reviewing. If you study/attend office hours, you will pass

Need a strong algebra foundation. Has a lot of quizzes and homework. 3 midterms + 1 final. She goes over curriculums pretty fast so go to office hours if extra help is needed. She is straight to the point but is not very good at explaining to students who are struggling. I feel like I taught myself the whole course so take that as you will.

THIS PROFESSOR ISNT EVEN THAT BAD! YALL ARE JUST LAZY. The exams are way easier than the study guides she provides us, so use those! make a study group with your class, it really helps out. Professor is really helpful with outside sources and is very encouraging to students. I recommend you do all your homework and use the outside resources she provides like office hours, in order to be successful in this class. The lecture material is not easy at all, but Nguyen is really considerate when grading.

Mrs. Hoang is one of the best math professors that I've had here at CSUF. Although she does have quite a bit of a Vietnamese accent, she makes up for this with her knowledge of each concepts. Ask questions during lecture and she will gladly stop to teach you the concept. Gives extra credit in exams and is always available during office hours.

This is very much a class where you teach yourself. Professor Nguyen's exams are much more difficult than those in other MATH 135 classes, but are still manageable.

Study guide is VERY similar to exams. I studied those over and over again and consistently got 90+ on my exams. You will be teaching yourself. Cengage homework is nothing like exams. Need to review algebra concepts to succeed in the class. It's hard but if you put in the effort you will pass.

She is very nice and a lenient grader. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with lectures because of her accent and handwriting. She gives a lot of work (~10 page review front and back+cengage). However the reviews do help for the exams. You need to take notes for that class and put in effort but overall not so bad. If you stay on top of it you'll pass.

Hesitant? Don't be! Taking Professor Nguyen's class was one of the best experiences I've had. I took her class in person and she is very approachable, kind, and helpful. Attendance is important because calculus in general builds upon itself. Overall she often makes jokes to lighten the mood during challenging material. I highly recommend her!!
