Very thick accent, but a great teacher. Had him for multiple math classes, and he always helped everyone understand the material where the prof fell short. Very optimistic about solving math problems, claiming everything is an "easy guy". This guy was a lot of fun from integral calc through diffEQ.

I think this professor is a bit misunderstood. His philosophy is to reach out to students who don't really understand math, and many misconstrue this as a flaw in his capabilities in English or teaching ability. He's actually really helpful if you go to his office hours and he makes his tests really straight-forward so you can do well.

His heavy Korean accent may not be as much of an issue if he were teaching material that wasnt from the book, and teaching it well. Students are struggling with having to understand the material he is covering. The text is useless because he is teaching all examples directly from the book. His TA was teaching us better in our weekly recitations.

Although his accent is very strong, he is a very funny teacher, and he cares a lot about his student's education. The main problem with this class is it's based around a really bad textbook that was made by another OSU professor. If you talk to dr. kim during his office hours, he is always nice and always makes sure your questions are answered.

Hoe Woon Kim. Where do I begin? A non-native English speaker. Pronounces "zero" as "jero". Takes too long on simple concepts; too brief on complex ones. Cannot do his own practice tests. Cannot keep promises about putting up study materials. Becomes indignant when reasoning is questioned. Does the bare minimum. Pick an English speaker.

Professor Kim is really nice and made math lectures really fun. He's also super smart and knowledgeable, will sometimes talk about interesting math related stuff in lecture. I enjoyed his class a lot more than I was expecting to considering I usually hate math.

Kim structures his class in a way that if you're not good at testing, you will not pass his class. Not only that, his lectures are unhelpful and many times when students asked clarifying questions, he either laughed at them or said something along the lines of "You should've been paying attention". Avoid his class at all costs.

MTH 323 is a writing intensive class so we did a lot of reading and writing. Kim is super kind and always went to class with a positive attitude that was downright infectious. I wish he worked through numeric examples in class since there was a small disconnect between lecture and HW. He was a pretty understanding grader and is not too strict.

I asked several clarifying questions during lectures because english is not his first language and he is hard to understand, but he would just say "you should have been paying attention". Avoid taking this class with him at all costs, find another professor

Get ready to self learn. The lecture slides are pretty useless. The language barrier makes it hard to understand but his teaching style is tough to learn from. Do not recommend. Canvas is unorganised and due dates change within hours of when its due. Hes a good guy and can be funny but as far as teaching I did not learn much from him.

Absolutely great professor. There's only so much vector calc. he can teach in a 50-minute lecture, so it's a lot of self studying. If you have any problems, reach out to him. Dr. Kim can explain anything in the textbook that you have trouble with. He is also super accessible by Canvas messaging. The homework is a lot, though.

Super disappointed with the quality of teaching. He never seemed like he had a plan for class. He just took slides from the book for the most part and then made up problems to do at random that he messed up and didn't finish most of the time. He interrupts halfway through questions the majority of the time and answers a different question.

Like others have said, he has a very heavy asian (Korean?) accent. For me, that made it almost impossible to get much out of the lectures. Lots of HW but that is just how 254 is set up in general across mth department. Very caring guy, but you will need outside help. I recommend youtube professor leonard calculus 3 series (if in MTH254).

Very heavy accent, took a while to understand. Would forget to teach us topics until after the homework was due. Does a lot of example problems but often gets stuff wrong. Helpful during office hours. Really easy on grading. Flexible grading policies. Would recommend

This has been my most difficult class so far. The course work was heavy and the material was VERY challenging. The recitation work was often more challenging than anything you would see on the exams. But the professor graded easily and seemed to care about his students success. Always replied to emails quickly and was available during office hours

As many have commented, there is a slight language barrier. However, I took him for 254 and now understand him just fine. The coursework was surprisingly easy and tests were not challenging. The textbook was very helpful and homework was minimal. Overall great professor and great class.

I had Kim previously for 254 and his 341 class is so much easier. Its a flipped class so there's readings before hand but he reviews it in class. most of class time is spent on group work. If you have a question he'll explain it until you understand. he really wants you to learn the stuff. Overall linear algebra is easy if you pay attention
