Dr. Norm Holland is a great professor. However, my A&P I professor was much easier in terms of examinations. With that said I feel I will be better prepared in P.A. school with a more rigorous background in A & P.

This professor is awesome, he is very clear when he teaches, his lecture and lab tests are straight forward. As long as you pay attention and take good notes you will ace the test. Dr. Holland is hands down the best A&P professor at HCC. I've taken classes at the DM, Ybor and Brandon campus so please take my word for it. Record every lecture and listen to it while studying. He literally tells you whats on the test if your smart enough to pay attention. If you truly love the material and pay attention you will do fine.

Great professor really cares about students success when they need help. Class was very intense lots of studying but it's do able since he post what you need to study for each test online. He's also a really cool professor and you'll love him just for his personality! I would take him again!

If you're not a slacker who ditches class, and you're not afraid to study the power points in Canvas you'll be fine in this class. Professor Holland wants everyone to learn and will help any way he can. If you go to class, take notes, and study you won't have a problem getting an A. I wish I could take him for every class I need!

I've never had a professor as amazing as Holland. No need to purchase the text book because it was uploaded online for our access. I also did not purchase a study guide, but he would willingly take my USB drive and upload the study guide chapters that I needed on there for me. He definitely cares! No HW, just STUDY!!! Easy tests if you STUDY!!!!!!

Very nice caring guy Ihad him this semester and he always made sure we knew what was going on and was always willing to help alsocurved tests which was nice because anatomy is a very hard class. Make sure you come to class and write down all he has to say he gets it from the test! I would deftake him next class if it wasn't already full !Just study

I took him for 2 classes and 2 labs and he was the best. Best professor ever. A&P is so hard and he makes it easy to understand. You can record his lecture. Available outside of class. He is super friendly. He is a very respectful man. Helps with everything, anything, anytime. Most important thing is to have respect for him and study hard.

He wants u to pass, and is very motivating. As far as the actual structure of the class : U don't need the text book, maybe get the study guide b/c some of the questions there (matching ones) help you a lot on the test. He curves his tests , and drops one in lab and in lecture. I took him for ANAT 1 and 2, and wish I could take him for everything

Professor Holland is hands down the best professor I have ever had. He is so kind and you can tell that he really cares about his students. He will do anything to help you do well in his class. With that being said, you still have to work extremely hard. Anatomy is tough no matter who you take, but Professor Holland has a way of simplifying things.

Mr. Holland is great. Sort of like a cross between Indiana Jones, Santa Claus, and add a doctor in there somewhere. While your grade is completely based off of memorized information on tests, that is what the lab is about and should be expected. He's a great dude, very chill. The attendance thing- it's not required to show up to class, but...

One of the best professors I have ever taken at HCC. His tests are tough but he believes in his students and genuinely wants everyone to do well. Even when i doubted myself he always told me that "everything was going to be alright". I will take him again this summer for Anatomy 2.

He's a great professor. His tests are challenging, but if you know the material, you will do well. You will work hard in this class, but he explains things so you can understand even complex mechanisms. If you are going into a health profession, he connects what he teaches to clinical situations, which is helpful. I would take ANY class he teaches!

For most students his lectures are overwhelming, resulting in tons of outside study to relearn what you learned. Do not expect a curve, because he is not one for handouts. However, he will help those who he knows truly care. He is all over the place which can be distracting, and he intentionally makes his tests harder than they need to be.

A caring professor that does not like to repeat himself more than 3 times. The exams are hard.

I've taken Dr. Holland for AP1 and AP2, he is a great professor. There are 4 tests the whole semester and he lets you drop your lowest. During his test review he will literally tell you what will be on it, for example, Questions 12-23 will cover the pulse points and so on. His tests are challenging however, just listen to this man!

He is an amazing professor. The (5) lecture tests are hard but hell likely drop the lowest score & curve each test! The (4) lab tests are just memorization. He will show you all the info you need, tells specific questions in class that will be on the test, & willing to work with you if youre struggling. Buy study guide not textbook! Took 4 AP1&2!

Be ready to write lots of notes. Made quizlets throughout majority of semester, had 4 other people relying on them. Took lecture and lab. Lecture is the heart attack, with chem/bio everywhere while Lab is pointing, memorizing and spelling correctly for every 50 question test. Lecture is 100 questions. If you're going into the medical field, he's A1

Norm is great! Pay attention to his lectures and he'll tell you more than 1/2 of the test questions. He will curve almost all lecture tests and drop the lowest lab test. He is very easy to talk to and most of the time you can talk him into a larger curve. I would definitely take him again!

Dr. Holland is an awesome prof. He will break down the information till he knows you've gotten it. Will help you study, be available for questions in and out of class. I would take any class with him!!

Dr. Holland is awesome. He gives you a lot of the test answers if you show up to class. If you buy the study guide, the exact pictures are on the test. Dr. Holland also answers emails like text messages so don't be afraid to ask for clarification

Professor Holland knows his stuff. He really tries to prepare you for the test itself. He gives great study guides and is very specific about what you need to know for the test. Professor Holland is the best professor I have ever encountered. He is SO caring and will do anything he can to help his students! A&P is a difficult course and I was nervous about taking it but Professor Holland made me feel comfortable and inspired me to work hard. If youre nervous for this class, do not worry. By far one of the most invested, fair & caring professors. He is in every student's corner and is flexible when you need help or run into a tight spot. He is incredibly intelligent (he literally writes textbooks) but is so down to Earth & relatable in a typically difficult class. Would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone seeking an AS.

Wow. He is one of the most encouraging and understanding teachers Ive ever had. He is an excellent communicator. It was a lot of material to learn given the subject, but with perseverance, I definitely learned a lot from his class!

I enjoyed his class. A lot of other people in his other anatomy class struggled and thought his class was the hardest. I had a study group with his class & didn't find it difficult. Lectures were easy to follow and you could always ask for more in depth explanation. Tests do contain A LOT of trick questions so you need to fully understand concepts

Holland is a man of the people! He's really open and understanding - he has college-age kids so he gets it. Very knowledgeable. Try your best to get his lab too, other teachers don't match up. He puts everything you could ever want or need on canvas. Figure out your learning style and get graph paper for notes (thank me later).

This is a man with so much knowledge he is soooooo funny and has a sexy goatee, he tell you about every part of the body and more take him if you want to be a nurse TRUST ME! Drops lowest test grade at the end for lab and lecture, take them together you will not regret it.

I loved this professor, you could tell he was very knowledgeable and loved the subject. I would definitely recommend Dr. Holland to anyone. Your entire grade is based off of 5 exams no assignments which sounds scary but if you pay attention to lecture and study youll do great.

I took his online class and it was set up so well! He responds quick to emails if you have and questions and everything was spread out pretty well so you dont feel overwhelmed. Wish he taught A&P 2 online.

Best professor, if you can take him, do it. The only thing I have to say is that your only graded on 4 test grades with 100 questions so if your not a good test taker then pass. Otherwise, amazing lectures and very knowledgeable and funny. No hw, use the txt book and PowerPoints. Study often or you wont pass. Its difficult material.

Take! Take! Take! I took his 10 week summer class online. It is so well organized and one of the best online classes Ive ever taken. All the material provided is very interesting and I really enjoyed this class. (I took both A&P 1 lab & Lecture together).

Hes honestly an amazing professor. By far the best lectures iv ever had. He knows what hes talking about and he enjoys the subject and teaching. Youre only graded or 4 or 5 100 question tests that you NEED to study for. Study,Study,Study!!! 100 questions is a lot to answer in an hour and change, so know your material like the back of your hand.

He was very understanding if you missed class or test and was always open to letting you make up the tests. Tests are 100 questions and are the only grades in the grade book, they are diffucult but if you follow lecture and study hard it is not a hard class to pass. he does move quite fast so make sure you pay attenetion and STUDY!!

Took him for A&P I Online with lab and Im just said he wont be teaching summer classes. Only graded for 5 tests and final exam in lecture. Lab is 5 lab reports and the associated exam. So with their being so few things youre graded On Its kind of a hit and miss. hes a great professor and I like that theres no homework. Lots of READING!!!

He was a fair professor , and explained everything really thoroughly. Hes always willing to help with assignments and labs , really tries to make you understand the concepts in simpler ways.

a very sweet professor. I took his hybrid class and he was very open to explaining things if you reach out to him. The lab reports are a little long but youre only graded on that and tests every 3 weeks. He makes it very easy to pass the class and feel like youre learning something

Professor Holland is super kind and understanding. I took his class online and whenever I had a question, he always answered back quick! I would highly highly recommend the textbook for this class. I just graduated HCC and this is the only class where I would ever recommend the book. The grades are based solely on tests but they're easy!

He is super great! His exams aren't hard if you study and read his powerpoints AND THE TEXTBOOK!!!! STUDY and you'll pass! But he's super nice and helpful and replies quick.

I 100% recommend this professor. No assignments- only tests. Study and you will do well. Gives out a study guide for the final that is identical to the actual test. There is no lab final, but lab exams are pretty hard. You can do well if you study for them. Overall amazing professor.

You have to do 3 packets in 3 weeks and then you take a test based on it. Packets help you identify anatomy by describing them. Don't procrastinate bc you have to be able to identify the anatomy from pics. You have to type the answer out and you can't go back to a question. Bc of this, it's important to work ahead of time and practice identifying.

An amazing online teacher that leaves you alone. You don't get 100 notification emails from him. Seriously, his syllabus tells it all! As long as you do the work you will be fine. I personally was a full-time student and full-time active duty military. He made things super easy for me to understand. Seriously regret not having him for BSC2086

this class was the most difficult class i have ever taken but that's only because it was fully online. i do better in person. there is definitely a lot of reading. make sure you watch those YouTube videos for lab! if you ever get stuck or have a question, text him or email him, he'll listen and try his best to help. GOOD LUCK!

Human Anatomy is already a hard topic but he made it so much better! he is a amazing professor and I wish I could have taken him for Anatomy ll but he was full! Just make sure you do good on the lecture exam and labs. The only homework is labs, make sure to do good on exams they are basically your whole grade.

He's a really great teacher, took him for A&P 1 & 2, 1 in person and 2 online. He's clear with how he grades, only 4-5 tests the whole semester, but has a TON of resources, videos, and study guides to help you out. Plus is always available to help with either, email, text, and a phone call.

It was a summer course, so we did Pearson, which was a lot, but since I had more time it wasn't too overwhelming. Also a great professor!

I truly enjoyed this class. It was ALOT of information but he definitely provides an abundant amount of resources, videos, print outs etc. His grading is fair, if you do the practice tests provided through the book and really memorize the print outs on the labs you will do fine. He responds quickly to emails as well.

Professor Holland is the absolute best. He cares about his students and it is obvious that he loves what he teaches. Watch his lectures and youll do great.

5 exams not proctored He is a fantastic person! Though his examples confuse me sometimes. Grades are heavy on the exam. Exams are a minimum of 60 questions timed for 1 hour and up. I never touched the book. His modules were very useful. The models he provided in canvas were the ones he used in exams. I highly suggest taking his class in person.

Fully online and he does not use honor lock. 5 exams and participation at the end of the course is your only grades. Most of his test questions are directly from his PowerPoint slides. If you take his lab course all the tests are free response questions, but the questions are in reference directly from his slides. Overall he made the course easy.

Professor Holland is genuinely there for you to help you succeed. It's up to you to put in the work that is required for this course to receive the fruits of your labor. This is a very intense class (especially for someone that works 40+ hours a week) and it requires a lot of your "off" time to dedicate towards the lectures, videos, studying, etc.

Professor Holland is the type of professor you wish you had in every class. His main objective is for you to learn and he will do whatever it takes to help you succeed if you show initiative and dedication to his class. He spends a lot of time preparing videos and lectures for the online class. Just follow his instructions carefully and succeed!

This guy is a goat, genuine dude who cares for his students. Easy going class as long as you just study what's in the text book and go to a lecture on occasion, and you pass with an easy B-A. Take his class you will not regret it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Took him for lab and lecture: only 2 things are graded in the lecture online course which counts for your overall grade. One is participation in class (watching videos) and Second is exams which there were 5. If you watch the videos and take notes you should be fine! Class is hard to fail. Lab Is the same way!

This class wasn't terrible but it was difficult. Your grade is based on 5 exams and 1 overall participation grade. I will say the exams are extremely difficult but in order to get a reasonable score you have to study the modules. He's very accommodating and he responds pretty fast to emails! Would I take this class again? Maybe.

He's the most laid-back professor, but HIS EXAMS ARE HARD if you don't put effort. No weekly homework, but 90% of your grade is based only on 5 exams, each w/ over 50 ques in a 60-90 min time limit. You'll need to study 4-6 hrs/day to succeed. If you want a professor with weekly engagement, he may not be ideal. Unsure if I will take his class again

For Human Anatomy lecture and lab, TAKE PROF LELAND! He is so awesome. He lays allllll the information in Canvas and the textbook is super easy to follow. He does 5 exams and then class participation as a grade. He replies incredibly fast and is super understanding. 10/10 would recommend this prof with this class.

Professor Holland is a knowledgeable and caring instructor. While the class can be challenging, his resources like PowerPoint slides and study modules make it manageable. Using Unstuck study and reviewing the textbook is key to success.

Mr. Holland is a nice professor, but his anatomy class is tough. There's no homework—your grade is based only on five exams and a final. He makes the material harder than it needs to be, and the exams often don't match what you studied, with lots of questions and little time. He does drop the lowest test score, and the final isn't optional.

This Professor was great, 5 tests and no homework, but everything you need is in the textbook. Straightforward and make sure you know how to spell! I would take again!

Anatomy is hard I am studying for a business degree so I am not particularly following the anatomy path. However, the class is str8 forward Exams are 100% the grades Then the participation grade is separated from the modules and practice tests. Exams are not proctored still very hard. The timing is tough as well You have to hustle during the exams.

Prof. Holland is one of the best out there. A&P is a really heavy content class that requires a lot of memorization but he understands that and is so helpful. 90% of your grade is based on 5 lecture exams and then a 10% "participation" buffer. No honorlock, but you still need to study because the content is so specific. He rounded my 87 to an A.
