The class is very difficult, but she made all of us feel comfortable and was the most entertaining teacher I have ever had.

I thought Professor Gilley was kind and helpful, however her attendance policy was stricter than most classes. She is especially strict on walking in a FEW minutes late occasionally and you could end up suffering from it. But overall, she seems to be a very nice lady.

I took her in fall of 2007. The worst professor ever. I had to drop her class. She is very insultive but she does it in a decent way to not make herself look bad. She does not believe in family or personal emergencies. She just dont care. Run while you have the chance. She is horrible.

She is really great. The subject is not easy for many people and she really does her best to make it manageable. All the quizzes have extra credit and although there is a lot of online work, it is not overwhelming.

I had her for an 8:30am class, but it did not feel that early because she was so lively and engaging, and really encouraged us to be the same. Taking this class over the summer with a lot on my plate, she knew I was trying my best to keep up. I got Cs on the first two tests and an A on the next, however I arrived 4 minutes late the day after & she failed me. I feel a teacher who cared about her students would not be so unnecessarily strict on a student who was obviously trying and cared.

Professor Gilley is an excellent professor. Her class is challenging as any college level class should be. I did notice that there were students in class who where not bright and could not keep up with the class.

Fabulous professor. I really wish that I had taken 1120 with this professor. She is amazing.

There are no multiple choice test so you must study to pass. In spanish 2 you have to do a project on a country and recite it completely in Spanish, which I thought was stupid. She grades very critical but I passed both of her classes. She's makes class fun even though it is almost 2 hours long. Extra credit is available. Strict on attendance.

It would appear that the rater below was not one of the 8 who passed the class. i have noticed that all of my classes are significantly smaller at the end of the semester. You should have seen my ENC 1101 class! This Friday class always small since it started with only sixteen or seventeen students.

I love this teacher. I took her for Spanish 1 and learned so much from her. Her lectures are super energetic and funny. I have no background with the language and with the online work and her lectures it came super easy. There were a few disruptive people in my class and she handled them very well. I would definitely recommend her.

I have never had a better teacher in my life. She is always kind, even to disruptive people in class; she kills them with kindness. She comes in a few hours early to wipe down the desks with Clorox wipes. What teacher cares about her students that much? She gives a lot of tricks for remembering words and offers many ideas for studying. The best!

I have taken three semesters of Spanish with three different professors and she is hands down the most capable and fun. You should expect to study two to three hours per week outside class.

Probably the most strict professor i have ever taken. must turn hw in on time. If your grade is borderline she will not bump it. If you have a 79.8% it will stay a C. she is also very rude.

Professor's expectations are very clear. Grades are not "bumped" or "rounded up" because extra credit is offered in each exam. This class is not hard to ace if you study. Professor is approachable and always willing to help.

She is organized and cares tremendously about her students. She answers all questions and doesn't make you feel unintelligent. I switched out of another class to finish with her.

I took Professor Gilley's Spanish 2 class. Professor Gilley does expect words to be spelled correctly (as did my Spanish 1 professor and my ENC 1101 prof). Apparently there is a difference between "año" and "ano" and "hair" and "hare". This is college. I appreciated her wit and efforts to make the FOUR hour class FUN.

I took Prof. Gilley for Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 (six weeks each). Amazing Spanish professor - explained concepts very clearly, and consistently prepared. She has the patience of an angel, and is willing to answer every question. Her exams are very FAIR as long as homework (online, too) is completed, and notes are reviewed & extra credit is given!

Profesora Holley es muy linda! She's super cute and dances across the classroom while she teaches. What's not to love? She want's you to learn and understands that not everyone catches language so quickly. Go to class keep up with the homework (it's actually kind of fun) and you'll ace. She answers emails and is always there if you need extra help.

Profe is absolutely hilarious and she takes her time to make sure everyone gets the lessons and all her homeworks and assignments almost always directly correlate to the tests which are super easy never over 20 questions! I was dreading taking a foreign language, but I had so much fun in this class.

This was a great class.

She is a great professor. I had her for Spanish 1 and 2. You will need your textbook for every class and you can't miss more than 4 classes. She always takes attendance and her lectures aren't long and boring. She always keeps class interesting and does different activities. She gives reviews before every test and is easy to talk to. She's great!

Profe is very approachable. She answers email quickly and I was always able to schedule office visits. I learned so much Spanish! I am now able to speak with friends and customers.

I love her! Took her Spanish 1 & 2. She's very passionate & engaging so you're never bored. One thing I didn't like was she sometimes would teach important things to remember right before class ended, instead of working on those concepts during class. Lots of extra credit. Overall she's fun & will help you with concepts you don't understand.

This class exceeded my expectations for a beginning course. Profe was always available outside of class. She sent me a detailed email when I was out sick. All of my exams where graded before the next class and she posted the grades on D2L. I also really appreciate that she took time to review the exams so that I could learn from my mistakes.

The professor made the class fun and was very clear about homework and quizzes. This was my favorite class last year!

This class was great. If I had taken fewer classes, I would have earned an A. I am not great at time management and did not try as hard as I could have. I am very glad that I took this class.

Profe Gilley is a engaging Spanish instructor who makes learning fun. While the workload is heavy, Unstuckstudy and regular attendance are key to success. Definitely worth taking if you want to improve your Spanish.

This professor is my favorite Broward College professor. She is engaging, prepared and the assignments are not incredibly difficult. I really wish that I had taken this professor for SPN 1120.

This course was very enjoyable. It is a four credit course—so there is a fair amount of work. I am so glad that my co-worker recommended this prof.

SPN 1121 is not an easy course. I had to study much more than for SPN 1120. The course covers the past tenses and object pronouns.

I had more fun in this class than any other I have taken in college. It was my first time studying a foreign language and I really can't wait to learn more!

She is a really good teacher and makes learning Spanish easy. If you don't study however, it will be a hard class, as you won't understand what she is talking about. She is very energetic, so the class is never dull or boring.

This class was lots of fun and I overcame my fear of speaking Spanish.

Professor Gilley is an amazing educator. She takes the time to make sure students are settled in, participation matters, one of the bests professors at Broward fr, it's clear that she loves her job a lot. The right balance of challenge and support, making learning enjoyable and effective.

Professor Gilley is a good professor. Her work is fairly simple and she is extremely engaging and makes her class fun. However, if you did not fully understand your Spanish 1 class, I would recommend reviewing everything from that because if you don't, this class will be EXTREMELY difficult for you.

Pros:Profe teaches interactively/visually with group practice/whiteboard answers Extra credit on ALL tests. Homework is small/spaced out. Helpful tutorial videos, tutoring links are provided. Available before/after class. She is Animated and hilarious! Cons 4-absence limit. No late work or test makeups. If u fail it's not bcuz of her no shade:)

Great class. Attend, do the assignments and you will do just fine. This is a college class. Slackers need not apply.

Profe Gilley was probably one of the most fun teachers I've ever had. She made the atmosphere of the class very warm and inviting. Her lectures are fun but I cant say they aren't hard. This class is dependent on how much you study and pay attention. Her grading is harsh but reasonable for a blended course. Helpful and accommodating when needed tho.

Her lectures are informative and engaging. The tests are not difficult at all. If she didn't cover a topic in class at least twice, she will take it off the test. For homework, as long as you get at least a 70% you get full credit. She is passionate on getting to know all her students personally. She is like the cool aunt. She is the best!

I learned so much from Profe. She encourages discussions and loves answering questions. Don't take her class if you want to hide in the back and not participate, it's impossible. You can tell she loves what she does. Please take her!! You will learn so much. Thanks to her many group assignments I actually met some of my closest friends. 10/10

Super nice, and works hard to make sure you get the material. The tests are pretty simple, but still challanging, but she drops your lowest score so its not bad. Make sure you STUDY the VOCAB.

Most fun PROFE I had so far. She is funny and makes time go by so fast because of her personality. I already registered for another class with her. Her grading is very fair. Best profe ever.

Great teacher. Love her. She's had a few opportunities for extra credit which has really helped since I was taking 6 classes and didn't study as much for her course. Her exams are really straightforward, similar to in class homeworks and she gives test reviews beforehand.

I really enjoyed this class. It is not for slackers--- but it is fun, interesting, and rewarding. I am using more Spanish at work and I have a much better understanding of the language.

Holley Gilley is an absolute joy. Incredibly hilarious and keeps your attention through fun activities of games, group projects, and videos to help learn spanish. Makes the class feel like a family and is very accommodating and helpful. Attendance is completely mandatory and you must study at least a few hours a week to succeed.
