She is wonderful. Great teacher and if there was a teacher of the year award she should get it. She was remarkable in class. I could just sit and listen to her day in and day out. Thank you so very much. Joyce Daugherty
Ms. Wadsworth is a very helpful teacher she is always willing to discus anything you do not understand or just care to talk about. She has an extensive knowledge on the material that she teaches.
This lady is SMART. She is extremely knowledgeable about all of her material, and she is very helpful if you want to learn. Highly recommended
She provides study sheets which basically tell you what is on the test, but I only scored in the 80's on 3 of the 4 tests. I disagree with some of the other students when they said she was helpful. I thought she was rude and very unhelpful.
Good teacher, but tough material. Don't miss class!!!
Who are the people that highly rated her! Yes, she knows her material, but expects you to devote your life to her class. Projects, test, group presentations just keep coming every week She was not easy at all! It was just way too much for just one class.
Very hard!!! Extensive material. Not recommended at all!
This was the hardest class I ever took. She makes this a nightmare from hell. 3 tests, 2 long book reports, group projects, and then you get a comp. final. Please dont take this with other classes.
she knows her subject and gives all the information that you need to pass her class.
Great lecturer. Lots and lots of material. The material was very factual and right to the point. You choose your assignments; essay, artwork, movie review. I learned so much about the ancient eastern cultures and how their struggles correlate to the rest of the world. Very interesting class.
Hints #1: Don't buy a book for this class; wont need it....Hint #2 use the study guide for the test from her website to apply notes (don't try to write all.... great teacher she will keep you on the edge of your seat. But watch out her test they seem like they fell out of the enola bay....
Great class...great teacher. Very entertaining and helpful. Trust your online study guides and listen closely when she explains artwork.
She is a very smart and informative teacher. She really knows her stuff. All you have to do to pass the class is use her study guide and her power point slides. you do have to study and she is willing to help.
This class was easy. she puts the base notes online, so just print them out before class, and fill in the details during her lecture (which takes the full alotted time). She had two art quizes so just study for those pretty well because you need to include alot of detail. But the tests are online so you can use your notes, or wikipedia.
She was an amazing professor and i loved her class! if you have an interest in humanities of asia and you want a professor with a passion for students then i highly recommend taking her class!
She knows her History...the only problem is memorizing all of it..But its all good.
Awesome teacher, tests are pretty tough but she loves to discuss the notes in class and it helps learn. Use the notes on Blackboard/her website that she gives, it's a great study guide. Also a tip, studying in the subway on Roosevelt with 3-4 people is a good luck charm apparently.
I took her before and loved it! She bring history & HUM to life! Tests are based on notes and her study guides. Study her slides and take great notes and you should do fine. Had weekly assignments to read in book to dicuss in class, but she tells you what will be on the test. Group project based on indiviudal help:] always willing to help if you as
I took this class for fun to satisfy my humanities prereqs. The class was a little tough but the professor was amazing! She has a lot of knowledge on the subject and is very helpful. YOU NEED TO GO TO CLASS THOUGH! I missed one class (emergency related) and was very far behind when I got back. All in all, the most interesting class I have taken
She makes it freaking hilarious.
Attendendance isn't technically mandatory, but if you want to do well on the tests you need to be there for her notes. Everything that comes out of her mouth is on the test, pretty much. She's funny though, and the subject matter is interesting too... so being in class was enjoyable.
This is the second class of hers I have taken and she has yet to disappoint. She makes learning interesting, though you will need to take notes. The tests arent hard but at least look over the notes once.
She is AWESOME! She makes learning intersting. Tests are based on power point notes, and attendance is mandatory (to get the notes)! Take her!
Excellent lectures. She does a great job of presenting the material. The material she covers is what she expects you to know on the test. There are no curve balls. Study the notes and pay attention, and should do great. I took her for history, and now I plan on taking her for humanities.
it's pretty much a regular lecture class, but she makes things really interesting when telling the historical stories. the test are not the easiest, though not the hardest. just make sure to prep for them. i would take this prof again.
good teacher, shes funny at times...15 online quizzes u can take three times each (not timed)! like four tests but she gives a detailed study guide for each (she also gives u the exact essay questions that will be on the test) an a or b is definetley possible
for her humanities class she has six online assignments that aren't too difficult and she has three test and one final exam. The test can be difficult, but she gives everything you need to know in class and she presents it very well. It was easy for me to pay attention.
Excellent class! Be careful though. You must pay attention, she doesn't like repeating herself. Attendence is not mandatory, but you have to come to class if you expect to do well on her 3 tests and cumulative exam final. Her online assignments are pretty easy as well. Overall, you have to work hard but her lectures are very interesting.
Awesome professor! Show up for class and pay attention, you can't fail. Great study guides, very helpful.
Holli is an extraordinarily knowledgeable professor, with a very fun personality. Show up every day, take notes and PAY ATTENTION! You can print out her Power Points to use for studying. She will omit anything that doesn't apply to the course, we entirely skipped the Viking exploration! Be prepared to learn a lot, she is really great!
Awesome teacher. Class is not easy, but you learn a lot. She want you to get something out of this class. She has power point presentations ready for you, study guides, she practically gives you anything you need to succeed, it is up to you. Before the test you can e--mail her the essays that will be on the test and she'll give you feed back.
She laid out in the first class the expectations and how to do well. She takes plenty of time to answer your questions and to make sure you fully understand them. Study guides are provided for studying for the tests. If you study the class is not that hard. I took Asian Hum and we had discussion boards and reading assignments. Hope this helps.
She's a good teacher but grades pretty hard. She gives the outline of the test but some of the questions are still pretty tricky. The tests also contain 3 essay questions about the subject and she wants every little detail about it. Out of 4 tests the highest average on them was 75 if that tells you anything. Be prepared to work if you take her.
OMG! I swear these posts are made by the teacher herself. Every single one of them! She is NOT helpful at all. This class would be very interesting if she wasn't teaching it. She is not willing to help you out AT ALL! Do NOT TAKE HER! I read these comments thinking she would be awesome, but she is horrible. By far, the worst teacher I have EVER had
If you plan on making a GOOD grade plan on studying your butt off, unless history is your favorite pastime! I consider myself smart, but this class is HARD. only 4 A's out of a class of 40. Too difficult and time consuming for 1000 level class. Learning stuff in this class is like drinking out of a firehose.
She is a wonderful teacher with a high understanding of her subject. Her entire class consists of lecture, so it's attendance is a must. All of the information you need for the class is all over BB, and she is extremely helpful. She is my absolute FAVORITE professor, and I would definitely recommend her. Warning: if you're lazy, you won't pass.
Best Instructor ever! humor and excitement make this class go by fast. Many times i found myself wanting to hear more but we were out of time.
She is very helpful and oulines the tests in the study guides. With work and dedication you can get an A No grade in college is given they are all earned, Very knowledeable and made me want to hear more
The person below me is a moron, anyone that seriously types like that shouldn't even be in school. Ms. Wadsworth is an amazing teacher, she is absolutely brilliant. She knows her stuff and also has a degree in mandarin. Just don't be lazy, and take her course seriously. She gives study guides, that have everything that is on the test. She responds t
Very hard class. Average scores on midterm were 68 at time that i dropped. Im a history major and im telling you she is a intellectual and grades s such. She knows the subject, her students do not. Discussion boards are graded tough, and she did not give a test or quiz till week 8.....your grade will come from exams and discussion boards. Way to mu
It is difficult to get an A in her class. I studied all night for her exam and all I got was a 78% i'm so dissapointed. She is a brutal grader on the essays for the exams. And the online quizes are made from the book that you rarely use, and they are difficult. She is an ok teacher but dang it is so hard to get a high grade. Prepare yourselves.
Prof Wadsworth knows her history. You listen to lectures most of the time and have a couple of discussion board days. The tests are hard but the study guides tell you what you need to know. Grammar and spelling are extremely important, she grades for those on the discussions. Just take notes, complete the study guides and you'll do fine
great class; love the subject matter! Prof W is very knowledgeable and makes things interesting. no book needed. no long papers to write. don't slack, though, because she grades hard. if I were staying in j'ville, I would take another class of hers.
Ms. Wadsworth is a great teacher. She explains everything very clearly, and provides students with the same power points that she lectures from. You need to be very detailed and specific when writing an essay on one of her tests. Her tests are all the same format, with multiple choice, short answer, short essay, and art essay. Highly recommended.
She goes really fast and doesnt offer much help for those who look for it
Her class is very hard to pass with a decent grade. I studied very hard for all her tests and all I got was a C which is awful to me. I do not reccomend her because a lot of the stuff on the test is not on the study guide.
The book is used for online quizzes, not time restricted,3 attempts each. tests are based off the lecture. she provides the outlines/ and study guide online for u to print out,if u do that and take notes from what she says you'll do good. Not an easy A, you have to learn and be there. u r except from the final with perfect attendance. she is fair.
I found Mrs. Wadsworth to be a very good teacher and very helpful. She gives you study guides and power points to use. She also allows you to submit your essay and short answer responses ahead of time and will critique them and return them before the test. Perfect attendance means no final. I am taking her this fall for humanities of asia
Ms. Wadsworth is an extremely bright lady!! You can tell that she loves teaching history. You will learn A LOT from this class. However, if you aren't real serious about school, don't take this class... It's difficult. You MUST attend class and study like crazy to pass the tests! Make sure to take advantage of her study guides; they will save you!
An extremely excellent professor. She know her stuff and wants her students to know it too. Cares very deeply about student success, but won't hand out good grades: She equips you to succeed, but you have to make an effort. As a bonus, if you have perfect attendance, you don't have to take the final. I'd recommend her to anyone.
Professor Wadsworth is a great teacher. She is very thorough in the material she teaches and is clearly excited to teach. She is more than willing to answer any questions you may have. You must be a great note taker to pass her test. DB's are a major part of the grade so DO THEM! As long as you do your DBs and take great notes your sure to pass!!
She was a great teacher. Her class was pretty intense because she had a lot of material but see organized it well, was fair with hw and grading and gave us study guides for the tests. If I would of studied better I would have gotten an A instead of a C
Nice lady, had her for all my history class, print power points jot down notes on the power point copy and paste facts to test you ll have a C if you just dooo the discussion boards you'll get a A without a doubt DO THE DISCUSSION BOARDS...they matter show up to every class on time no final exam
NO BOOK NEEDED!!!! she didn't give us a book it was great!! but you have to be a good note taker with slides. Miss a discussion board and your grade goes down.
Awesome teacher period. Just show up for her class and you won't have to take a final, but you can opt to take one if you want. NO BOOK REQUIRED, all in the notes. (She has them wherever she posts them if you missed a class.
She is excellent! People who do not do well in class are the people who procrastinate. She goes over all material, and even gives a study guide! It's all the answer right in front of your face, you just have to memorize it! She has a great personality and sense of humor. She is the beset professor I have ever taken. TAKE.HER.CLASS.
She makes the lesson fun! Never a boring time in her class
CLASS MISSED NOT ALLOWED IF YOU D'T WANT TO TAKE FINAL! I missed one class and it was a good reason but she still made me take it. The only cool thing about this class is you don't have class if you have a discussion board due. SHE DOES NOT GIVE YOU A STUDY GIUDE! Who ever said that Lied! Your grade is based off discussion board and test thats it.
I though this was an easy A. But the material is very intense. But very interesting at the same time. I Studied my butt off and it paid off! I earned a B in the course. I really enjoyed this course. Even though she grades hard. My only issue is the guilds (groups), we don't receive points if someone fails or doesn't do their work.
We didn't use the books but make sure you do your modules on blackboard or they'll kill your grade. Her power points are not very helpful for the tests so make sure you write down what she says instead
The only grades are discussions and tests. This teacher brutally grades her tests. She informs you that you're saving money on texts books by providing power points of the information for you. Expect the power points are terrible and don't explain anything. This class was horrible. Don't take this if you want to maintain a good GPA.
Definitely is passionate about her work. The way she lectures puts the "story" in History.
opportunity for extra credit non existent, tough on grading so read a lot. I'm was an A student 4.00, this class took that away from me.
She didn't post what book we needed until one day before the semester started. I went to the bookstore and they had no idea what book I was talking about because she didn't tell them that we needed it, she only posted it to her online website. Now I have waited 8 days for my book to come and she has already scheduled 4 chapters to read and a test.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. I never write reviews on teachers but I really want to warn people before they take this class. You have to read ungodly amounts and then take a close book online test. She grades hard on the discussions, even if you think you did it right. The homework assignments are graded for her, as with most of the test.
Easy teacher, lets you know exactly what is on the tests. Only 3 test plus an online final (extremely easy). Print out the powerpoints, take notes, and study! If you do this you will do well in the class. Three papers that go along with movies, 3-4 pages long. Not hard. You do have to put effort in this class. No homework or textbook.
She makes lectures seem like an interesting movie. She tells you what will be on the tests. You do need to come to class every day(And get rewarded for it btw) but you are not supposed to come to class discussion board days, meaning you literally get free days off from the class. Her guild system also helps a lot. Pretty easy class if you let it.
If I could go back, I would not take this course again. I have never reviewed a professor, but I feel that other students need to know. The grading was extremely tough(especially on discussions). Tests were very long and all closed book. No extra credit at all. I would not recommend this class if you are looking to maintain a high GPA.
She was the best professor I've ever had. I've taken her for 2 classes so far and am taking another class with her in the fall. Great teacher, brings a fresh spin to history, and pretty easy class overall. Show up and you can pass.
Had 4 exams, half my grade. no quizzes only online module questions as you read. you HAVE to read text to pass exams, but not a difficult class. had tech issues, she was very helpful. would recommend this professor. passed with a B, but an A was very possible
Ehhh wasn't bad but wasn't great. The course layout is pretty basic do some reading, practice chapter questions, 4 exams on the readings, but the DISCUSSIONS, which you would think might be the easiest part, was the hardest part of this course. You mess up spelling on one word and points get taken off. It was a drag, and kept me from getting an A.
Professor Wadsworth was a very good professor. Her lectures are very long with about 4-5 pages of notes each class. even though the lectures were long, most were very interesting. The class really isn't hard there are weekly discussion boards and 4 test. Overall i would personally take her class again.
I took her online classs and she uses McGraw Hill for test and reading and coursework, which took while to figure out. Her Calendar is also not the usual blackboard type. She is a very tough grader in discussion and in her 4 test, she reserves 20 pts to written answers, which take a lot to get!
The material isnt hard, but the way she grades makes it almost impossible for you to get an A. She reserves 20 points on the test for short answer questions and the multiple choice answers are all right but you have to figure out which one is best and her discussion boards are impossible. She will take points off if you misspell one word. HORRIBLE!
Ms Wadsworth is overall a Good professor and she knows her information as a historian. The good part about this course was that you didn't need a book so all tests were based from lectures. At times it could get a little boring just because if you dont like history too much, but she made all lectures interesting enough to pass.
I loved this course with her, she was very engaging and gives different perspectives. I would definitely take this class again.
She had really good lectures in which she went into full detail with the information. We only had 4 test but alot of lecturing. There were 6 discussions. In order to pass her class make sure you study for her test.
She is a grammer Nazi & this is not even English class. I would recommend taking someone else because this class is not an easy A. You are most likely going to get a B in this online class. She is SO picky on everything. She will take points off on EVERYTHING. If you have one word misspelled or a run on sentence, 8 points off. Forget the exams.
She is an extremely hard grader. I did not capitalize 1 I in my first discussion and she docked my points. I feel like she thinks she works at Harvard instead a community college. Avoid at all costs.
Mrs. Holli can be a bit picky when it comes to discussions and short answers on tests but her lectures are great. She would literally leave us with cliffhangers. She needs to be more lenient with grammar on discussions. Its a humanities class, not english. Her tests are also challenging, but passable. Don't skip discussions or classes.
I bought the actual book and she wanted the online book to use the interactive; the interactive was terrible. She was late on grading. Her deadlines never made any sense. Discussion post and replies where due at the same time, so I had to wait til 10PM every discussion to respond because you can only respond to the opposite side of your discussion.
She knows what she wants from her assignments and won't accept any less. With her "tough grading" I feel like she is preparing us for more challenging classes and that's important for me. She's hilarious and will definitely get you interested in the lectures. Don't wait 'til the last minute to study as there's lots of information to remember.
She does require discussions but all of mine have been full points or lack of one point for grammatical errors. You do a chapter a week which if you stay up on it isn't bad. I spent everyday the week of the test going back through the chapter self test and still failed the test because the answer options are nothing like the work you do online.
Such a tough grader. I took her class online and struggled. She drops points off for little things such as a small grammar error. Her tests are extremely difficult, and the study guides she provides really aren't that helpful. No extra credit. This class was supposed to be an easy A but with this professor, its quite impossible to get an A.
6 H/W assignments (discussions) & 4 exams. If you're lacking in the grammatical dept, prepare to be ripped to shreds. If you attend all classes (1 absence ok), you will be exempt from cumulative final. Heavy Study guides, not 100% optimal, & Reqs a lot of study time. Take notes, pay attent, study, do h/w & you will be ok Discussion daysNo class
I absolutely love Professor Wadsworth and how she teaches her classes. She definitely cares about her students. Attendance is mandatory especially if you don't want to take the final exam. If you miss a day you will definitely miss a lot of notes and make sure to take good notes because everything from the lecture is on all the tests.
Holli Wadsworth is absolutely NOT a professor I recommend. She'll take a full point off discussions if you misspell one word. She is incredibly condescending/not helpful in emails and not reasonable when it comes to grading assignments or awarding points for hard work. Honestly, take any professor except her unless you want to feel insufficient.
Wadsworth is an amazing professor but there is ALOT of course content and things to be remembered that you probably won't remember. If you're looking for an easy-going class this is not the one!
Professor Wadsworth created a classroom that really had the class interested. We had a total of 6 discussions, and 4 exams. There is a final exam if you miss more than two classes (1 freebie). No one in my class had to take the final.
Her class consists of taking notes, disscusions, and tests. I'm not going to lie her tests are a bit hard but if you study you can do it. I got a "C" because I was dealing with Math and that is my weakness. I could have gotten a B+ but it is what it is. Still take her though! trust me. (Prof if you see this I love you, -Anime club founder).
Professor Wadsworth is passionate about her subjects and caring for her class. Shes one of the best professors out there. Shes knowledgeable and excellent with communication to her students. I hope to take a different class with her in the future. I learnt so much from taking the class with her.
Took the class online and all work was online. The work was not too hard but the exams were semi difficult. You needed to really know the material not just a simple multiple choice answer. So take your time reading and you should be fine. It was online so I had no interaction with the professor but overall it was okay.
