She is an AWESOME english teacher.....really easy, I hate english and I got an A on every paper....really nice lady and you learn a whole lot. I really recommend her.

Only 5 essays and a panel presentation... all of which she grades relatively generous. If you do the work you will pass easily with a B or higher.

Mellow teacher. Only 5 essays. Got A's so far on 4/5 essays. No pressure, she provides a great learning environment where stress is never present. In such a long time, I feel motivated to write from the heart.

I'm pretty sure nearly everyone did well in this class. We were graded primarily on five essays and one project so if that's not your cup of tea, you should look for a more assignment oriented course. Cannon's great! She's patient and really enjoys teaching. Very mellow but interesting class.

Got an A in her class but it was a lot of work. She's pretty straight forward, and grades very lenient. I took her after reading the comments here, and I can't say I regret it, but the readings were VERY confusing and hard to write about. A miracle happened when I got the A.

She is good, i mean she explains so much about her class that if you don't pass it then you are the stupid, she likes to read a lot but that gives you a lot of opportunities to get more ideas for your essay. I will get her again for my english class.

the most thought-provoking course i have ever taken yet, critical thinking nearly drove me nuts! no, seriously.. <_< anyways, il give her a 1,000 out of 10 in her mastery of material.. she grades really well, and discusses the topic thoroughly. lectures get boring sumtimes, but the best part is writing ur essay (4-5 minimum pages).

she is really easy and explains everything. If you need help she will meet with you anytime. She is the nicest person ever.

she is an easy going teacher. Most of the assingments are very interesting that will make your writing easier. I think she can also be very clear when explaining and helpfull when you dont understand it. She also gives you the opportunity to turn in one of the assingments one week late(not marking it late).

Cannon is an excellent English Teacher. She is passionate about her teaching! She is very professional, kind, caring, passionate, and involved with her students. Essays are very intereesting and bring discussion to the class. Highly reccomended!! She incoporates 5 Essays, a Final, and a presentation that will expand your analytical skills. :)

Great Teacher!!!! top 3 I've had at Mt. Sac. You do nothin but 5 or 6 the whole semester. She is very understanding and really goes out of her way to help students and understands what students have to go through. I recommend her to anyone lookin to take an English 1A class

I've learned a lot from her! She is a very intelligent person. She talks about critical thinking and it really opens my mind up. It's the most interesting class I have ever taken in sac. 6 essays, group assessments which are very easy, presentation (does not require outline). She does allow people to slack off! Great teacher! Cannon definitely has VERY thought provoking and challenging prompts...but she is VERY helpful and gives you useful feedback. I felt like I was in a moral ethics class. But that's what i expected from an English 1c class. But yeah, her prompts are definitely not easy.

Top-notch professor. She opens her students up a to a new world of ideas and uses storytelling to relate. You can learn a lot. Cannon is helpful and easy to access during office hours & through email. Prompt & thorough grader. I feel lucky to have made it onto the roster for her class. Remember, this is an honors class so open your mind. Neat lady.

Professor Cannon is one of the most insightful, enlightened and intellectual beings I have ever encountered. I am blessed to have been able to take one of her classes. Work ahead on your essays -- DON'T PROCRASTINATE. She gives a lot of leeway. It's impossible not to get an A. She's too nice.

Prof Cannon has a comprehensive knowledge about anything English-related. She makes her class simple by offering more help than you can keep up with, and she only assigns 6 essays throughout the course. Quite the easy A. Other than that, her lectures are typically slow, boring, and moreover redundant. She takes her time for the Mt. Sac "kiddies."

Professor Cannon is one of the best teachers at Mt. Sac. Take her, you wont regret it. She's very lenient on deadlines and is crystal clear on her explanations. She is extremely intelligent in her field and definitely knows her stuff. Just attend class, do the assessments, ask questions for clarity, and do your best on her essays - you'll get an A!

Wonderful and brilliant professor. She's extremely fair and her method of teaching is concise and impacting. If you have a question, she'll be more than happy to help. I definitely recommend her.

She is really nice! She wants to make sure you understand the material. The course is easy because you will pass as long as you do the work, so you focus more on your learning than the grade. I recommend you take all and every ENG 64/65/66 before you jump to 67 or 68. I guarantee you won't struggle as much as long as you are willing to learn.

Her essay deadlines are very flexible, and she cuts you a lot of break when you turn them in late. Also, she tells you what she expects to see on the assignments, so it is not difficult to get a good grade in her class. Highly recommended!

She is a really nice teacher, and very easy to approach. She makes the class as easy as she can, if you go to her office hours with a draft of your essay she tells you exactly what you need to change. She is a very easy grader you just have to take the time out to go to her office hours.

Professor Cannon is a great teacher and this class was fairly easy. If you pay attention during the lectures, you're guaranteed at the very least a B. She's also available almost everyday if you need a paper revised and she gives extensions out like they're nothing. Great class.

Professor Cannon is seriously into growing her students & maximizing their academic capacity. She is NOT easy and challenges you to analyze your life perspectives before sitting down at the keyboard. She reads every paper your turn in diligently and provides valuable (honest) feedback to make you a better writer. The hardest working prof at MtSac.

Here's the deal with Cannon: She has high expectations and you need to show up on time every day. Once you are there, class will fly by because she tells the greatest stories and relates to the class with ease. Ask questions. She likes everyone to be engaged in class discussions & welcomes a good debate if you can back it up. Try to get added.

She is wonderful. She was extremely helpful. She is always willing to listen and encourages class discussions. There are plenty of essays, but she does plenty of discussion and preparation for them. I highly recommend her.

She is arguably one of the best professors I ever had. I always looked forward to attending her class. The discussion topics were always so interesting, and she always had a way to make the material relevant to life. She's a fairly easy grader, considering I received one of the highest grades in the class. She's also very kind. Highly recommended!

BEST PROFESSOR EVER. I took her my first semester at Mt Sac, and she is still the top professor I've ever had. I can truly say she's one of the most intelligent people I have ever met. I loved her class, she was extremely helpful, sweet, and nice. Very flexible with deadlines. TAKE HER! You will definitely not regret it.

Professor Cannon is an excellent of a person who actually cares about her students. She makes the class very easy to participate in and her essays are not difficult at all. Also, she allows visits during office hours, and during class, to seek help on current topics. There a total of six essays and a final. Take care if you enjoy writing!

She is such a sweet and beautiful person! Very understanding, and provides meaningful comments about essays (those comments really do help to improve too.) Her classes made me fall in love with writing again. Don't let the early schedules scare you off. Our classes started at 7 am, but they were so totally worth the early wake-up calls :-).

Amazing professor. Professor Cannon is honestly one of the most knowledgeable professors I've encountered. Her class is also very laid back and she creates a really friendly environment open for discussions and her course work is not difficult at all- just as long as you stay up to date with the readings which I admit is kind of a load.

Mrs. Cannon is a excellent professor. It sounds cliche about all these comments, but it is true--she is pretty awesome. She takes into consideration the time for questions, concerns, or faults that we make in class. I would take this class even if it was at 730am, which is was. Take her class, you will learn a lot!

She was a great teacher! Her essays were all interesting to write about. She answers emails almost immediately and cares about her students' success as long as they, too, care for it. Very helpful and I learned a lot from her. She offers a late essay paper in case you need to turn in one late. Use it wisely!

I have had the honor of taking Professor Cannon for both ENGL 1A Honors and ENGL 1C Honors. She's an extraordinary professor, one who wants her students to excel in life and one whose lectures just ooze with knowledge. Because of her, I plan on majoring in English. She's not an easy A, so be prepared to show up with your "try-hard-pants" on.

Great professor, she gives very good constructive criticism and feedback. I'm kinda bummed that I didn't get to soak up more of her knowledge on account of being sickhalf asleep so often this semester.

I absolutely LOVE Professor Cannon. She is the most inspirational english teacher who is always there for you. After taking her 1AH class, I really feel like my writing has immensely improved. You do have to work a bit hard to get the A, but she always gives clear feedback on your essays.

Due to the nature of an English course, there are a lot of essays. Professor Cannon makes these papers count by evolving them from essential teachings to philosophical perspectives. She is very intelligent which leads to amazing lectures but causes her, at times, to appear condescending. Keep up attendance; there are several in-class assignments.

Very easy professor, but because she isn't a tough grader it'll make you procrastinate even more on the essays. The toughest essay you'll write is on Omelas, the other 5 essays are pretty easy as long as you write them on stuff that you're interested in. She's an older lady but very nice and has some jokes. Just don't procrastinate!!!

Amazing professor. I wouldn't attend class almost every other week when I gave up on parking but I managed to get an A. At times she's intimidating but she is for a reason. Her grading scale is very clear-cut and her feedback really helped me improve my writing. She's very funny and her prompts really make you think about life in a good way.

Professor Cannon's class was really boring, but her essays were interesting and reflective. I have known more about myself after this class! She is funny and sassy at times. A very wise and helpful professor overall.

This class was very fun, would take again. Prof Cannon is so sweet and funny! There was an essay due every two weeks but don't worry, they are easy to get A's on. Attendance isn't necessary but go to understand how to do the next essay and also to do in-class assignments. You can ask her to review your essays to make sure you receive an A on it!

Professor Cannon is an unforgettable professor. She is passionate about ENG/LIT and does a great job in immersing that dedication into her lectures. Professor Cannon taught me how to write good essays. She checks your rough drafts and makes helpful comments on how to improve it before you turn it in. She may push the due date back if she feels students don't understand the material. Really helpful teacher.

Good professor. She discusses the readings in depth. 5 essays overall (done at home) & 1 essay final (in-class). For the first 4 essays, she gives you the option to use 1 late pass. Gives decent feedback. There was some hw- usually 1 assignment per week. Basically: Read thoroughly, listen to discussions, do the hw & turn in the essays.

Professor Cannon is more philosophical than I'd expected, but class discussions are super interesting. They'd be even more interesting if other students participated. Even when people don't feel like participating very much, Professor Cannon prevents the heavy awkward silence by turning the discussion into a lecture. She gives great feedback.

Easily the best English prof at Mt Sac. She starts by seeking student agreement on grading criteria (but does not dumb it down); there are interesting discussions and she sets interesting essays. Work is given back promptly and graded fairly with clear feedback. I had an emergency at the end of the semester and she worked with me, highly recommend.

She was an insightful teacher but did not require much. I personally enjoyed engaging in thought provoking discussions with her and got a lot out of the class. She always pushed me to do better and paid little to no attention on the small things. Most will get an A but she focuses on being a critical thinker over the traditional format of school.

A very enlightening and kind individual. I like how she tries to bring about the real "critical thinking" in the classroom. Really pushes students to look outside of the box. Her lectures were insightful, with some fun jokes in the middle as well. Generous grader, but don't get too comfortable either! Overall a wise woman. Would highly recommend!

Spring 2018 will be her last semester here, but if you're able, take her class! Out of all the English teachers I've encountered in life, she's a shining gem! She makes herself available to help students with the writing and editing process. Her assignments are also open-ended so her class gives the chance to flex those writing and thinking skills!

Cannon is a ray of sunshine. I will miss her dearly. Her class was my favorite to attend and she definitely is understanding about things when life happens. Shes such a sweetheart and I will miss seeing her on campus.
