A graduate student professor, so she's new, but does an amazing job. Bends over backwards to help students. I did not use the textbook much at all, she covers everything in the lectures. Not a difficult class. Basic math and a little common sense is all that's needed. Allowed to exempt final if your grade is 95%

There are 4 test, but if you finish test 3 with a 95% average in the class you can exempt the last one. She is ALWAYS available to help you. If you fail this class, then you simply were not trying at all. Her in class notes are descriptive. She is extremely helpful and wants you to pass.

Pay attention and you'll do well. Attendance is mandatory if you want an extra point at the end of the yr depends if you want it or not. She used to let you exempt the final if you had a 95 or higher but she's unsure if she'll continue that. She will stop and ask if there's any questions very often & sometimes explains in case anyone's too scared.

Loved Mrs. Deal, super understanding and was always so available. If you don't pass its simply because you weren't trying, go to class and take notes and pay attention and you'll end up with an A in the class. Didn't give a lot of homework nor do you use the text book. Overall she's a really good professor.

Honestly if you go to class everyday, take notes during lecture and do the homework that's due the day before the test, you'll be fine. Coming to class is probably the most important because there are some key things she explains in class you won't understand by soley looking at the notes.

Mrs. Deal wants her students to do well. When she grades its very lenient and she allows you to have a notecard on every test. The quizzes are online and very easy with your notes. She also allows you to exempt the final if you have a 95 or above.

Amazing teacher and would take her again in a heart beat. It's an easy class if you do the work. Attendance is not required, but she adds a point to your final grade if you miss less than 2 days. She is the BEST choice for biostats. The project is honestly not hard if you just follow the instructions and turn in your checkpoints. Honestly the best teacher in KSU. She truly cares for the students, is passionate about what she teaches, and is very straight to the point. There are no surprises in any of her exam. One big project, 4 exams, HW from book. Gives you practice tests for every test and attendance is mandatory! Worth coming to class becasue you will ACTUALLY LEARN!

Holly Deal is the best professor Ive ever had. She does everything possible to make sure you do well in her class including lots of extra credit. The tests are very easy especially if you do the review test which she goes over in class. She has you sign in for attendance everyday, but its not mandatory

Possibly the nicest best teachers that I have ever had. She posts tutorials online to help you with with homework and excel project. Practice tests are close to the real ones. To the one about caring for those who come to class, most prof have a bias towards those who come to class. Take class online if you don't want to come to class ever.

Couldn't ask for a better stat professor. Sweet, caring lady with no ego and makes sure you pass, as long as you show her you're willing to work a lil. TAKE HER! She is so sweet and does soo much to make sure her students do good in her class. She provides easy extra credit and reviews for exams that help a lot. The homework is all online and not too bad. Also the quizzes are all online and you can take them unlimited amount of times. By far my favorite professor!

Literally one of the kindest professors at KSU. She really cares about her students and wants to make sure that everyone does their best. She is a super easy grader since she had clear criteria and plenty of examples. The tests are dumb easy if you taken stat in high school and just look over the material before the test.

Easily one of the best professors I've ever had. She genuinely cares about her students. I have never been a math person but she explains things very easily. Around four tests that are practically identical to the study guide. Quizzes for every chapter that you can retake as many times as you need. I would recommend her class to anyone.

The nicest professor you will ever have. All of the homework has a guide for how to do it making it almost impossible to not get a 100 and she sometimes goes over them in class. I one time forgot to submit homework and she gave me full credit when I sent her a note. There is a project but she is very helpful and provides lots of example projects.

I read many reviews on Deal earlier in the year and decided to go with her for fall semester. Shes a great professor.. doesnt give much work but she does have lecture videos for you to watch they are not that bad though. Shes willing to help always in class and after! Id definitely take her again .

Drops the lowest quiz grade and provides other grade opportunities in extra credit, quizzes, and hw. Hw is on aleks. Tests are lockdown and camera. I'm awful at anything math related but she does a good job at explaining the information. She posts her lectures online and doesn't make class mandatory. Hw is due before test, isnt a huge amount

Holly Deal was a good professor. It was very evident that she cared about her students. She allowed multiple attempts for her quizzes and no lockdown browser. However, the test did have lockdown browser, but you could use your notes. We were even allowed to use our notes on the test. As long as you take good notes, you should do fine in her class.

One of the best professors I have had so far, her work is very easy to understand, you do have to be present in class or else you will miss half a chapter of work, she drops the lowest quiz grade andddd if you got a higher grade on the final exam then a test you did she will also replace that test grade as well.

Mrs. Deal is a really nice professor. She wants everyone in her class to be able to pass, so if you ever need help she is there for you. The tests are not long or extremely hard. She posts a study guide with a video on how to do every problem. She is stingy about phones/laptops in the classroom, but just say you're using it for notes.

There are a lot of in class assignments, but the dates are in the syllabus. There is a lot of hw that is very similar to the in class assignments so they are easy 100s. On the tests she allows a note card that you can put anything on. I've never taken a stat class and I'm making an A so I definitely recommend her.

Deal is a great woman and a great teacher. She works hard to make sure you understand the content and frequently reminds you that your grades do not define you. However, the stats class that she teaches is very content-heavy and difficult. Only take this class if you have lots of brain cells and time to devote to it. Otherwise, Deal is awesome!

Mrs. Deal is a super caring professor. Biostats is mainly just statistics but she uses data that focuses on biology stuff. Definitely a lot of material, but I promise its super easy. She walks you through all the code for the in-class work, which directly translates to the homework. Study guides mirror the test very well. All-in-all, very easy A.

Homework is worth almost half of the overall grade so do that. Final replaces lowest test. Lots of extra credit. 95 or higher allows you to exempt final.

Mrs. Deal was a great professor. This was the only time I have kept an A in any math class through the the entire semester. She is understanding and extremely helpful. She gives extra credit and you gave a week after the due date of your homework to turn it in with 10% taken off but she already gives you a whole week to complete it before that.

This professor was very clear with expectations. Grade is made up of tests and aleks hw assignments. She isn't very lenient on extensions and no re-takes. But with the organization and great lectures those really aren't an issue. I really enjoyed her, printing her notes and taking them to class helps.

Did homework through ALEKS and she is super accessible outside of class and on weekends. If you show up to class and do the practice problems you will get an A in her class. She explains all concepts in great detail, sometimes too much detail. Lectures were pretty boring. Takes attendance but its not for a grade, more so if you aren't doing well its because you aren't showing up to class. Homework thru ALEKS and it takes some time but not very hard.

She will go over anything you have trouble with and unlike some, and she won't dehumanize you for raising your hand. I would definitely take her again in a heartbeat!

the content is very easy in my opinion, and she constantly asks if everyone understands the material before she moves on and will go over things even if one person doesn't get it. attendance isn't mandatory, but she does take it, and will use your attendance if you're wanting a grade bump. textbook and hw website in one (aleks), and printed notes.

Professor Deal's course was so straightforward. She gives amazing fill-in-the-blank notes for the entire semester and each period is clear and educational. She gives practice for each exam which is just the test but different numbers, pay attention and stay on top of ALEKS work and you will do great.

Expect to have only 3-4 tests the entire semester and an FCAR then Final. There's HW every week but it's worth more than the tests. Be prepared to have a printer ready because there's packets that are usually word blanks (thank god), and everything you need to know is on there! (or use an iPad and draw on the packet like I did)

Great professor! She cares and wants her students to do good. She has preprinted notes to follow along with. Her tests are easy if you study. She puts out a practice test with the exact questions just different numbers and they are multiple choose. Little homework. Is strict on due dates even when sick.

If you need to take STAT 1401, take Mrs. Deal's class 100%. She uses fill-in-the-blank notes, not too much homework. All tests are multiple choice and you get to use a notecard. If you have a 95 you can be exempt from the final exam. She is very kind and an amazing teacher.

She's an excellent teacher for students who may need content explained. She provides extra credit, practice tests, exam reviews, guided notes, worksheets for extra practice, constant reminders about grades, and timely and reasonable grading. If she does make a mistake by usually rushing, she's not stuck up about it. If you don't pass, it's you.

Mrs. Deal is great. Do NOT listen to the other reviews. Presenting is part of the whole class, we all had to do it. there was no judgement from anyone. We all had to do it. You do have to present at Analytics Day, but it honestly made me want to do better since I was presenting to a wide audience. If you are a data major, this class is so important
