i had her for several english classes at mt. hood and she wrote me a very nice letter of recommendation when i was applying to a university.

Definitely the best looking teacher on campus, and her class is a lot of fun too. She knows and is friendly to every student in her class, and she actually takes interest in the projects we do.

Very good teacher!

Holly was so fun to have as a professor. There wasn't a class that went by that I havent laughed. She is high spirited with a great sense of humor. Her teaching style is relaxed and easy to follow.

She is so incredibly cool and fun! My paper kind of forced me to come out to my class and she was so cool about it! She was helpful, encouraging, and helped me realize what I could actually do!! Take her classes!!

Holly is great! I had her for 122 and now I ahve her for 123 and I am thinking about taking her Shakespear class this fall. She isn't an especially dificult grader but you actually have to put in the effort and she gives credit where credit is due. Plus every class is funny and interesting even if you don't like the actual material.

She is an awesome teacher I learned a lot from her. She helped me with any questions and made sure that I was not struggling. A+ teacher.

I had Holly for 121, 122, and 123. Great great great writing teacher. Really funny and makes class very enjoyable! Would recommend her to anyone even if you don't like writing.

A wonderful instructor! I highly recommend her (as long as you're not too offended by the occasional swear word or morbid reference). I found it fairly easy to get a good grade although I still learned a lot. Never a dull moment in her class (well, rarely anyway). I am taking her WRI 122 for sure!

Holly is very fun and nice and most students love her. However if your not on the same page with her ideas, I believe, she grades according to how she feels about your paper rather than the content.

Holly is amazing! The world needs more instructors like Holly, she's passionate about what she does and trully cares about the success of her students. I don't believe "she grades according to how she feels about your paper rather than the content". That's slander if you ask me. Take Holly's classes if you want a caring teacher with a brain!

Holly is one of the best writing teachers I've had. She's clear in the methods to be used, and she genuinely cares about how you are doing with the coursework. She was always willing to help outside of class. I'd highly recommend her for any writing/english course

I loved her! I took WR123 online with her. I was really nervous about the class but she made it easy and took everything step by step. I highly recommend her. She is very encouraging and an excellent teacher.

Holly was amazing. She was really fun and goofy and made class exciting and entertaining. The paper wasn't a problem and Holly prepares you really well for it and it's definitely stuff you can use later on. We need more teachers like her, she's great!

Holly is a great teacher. She really enjoys teaching writting and it shows. If you keep up and you homework and go to class you will have no problem passing. I highly recommend her to everyone.

Very helpful

I went in to Shakespeare class dreading what was to come but Holly made it fun and interesting. Reading for her class makes me feel like a Shakespeare scholar and how she does grades is very convenient and fair.

Holly is one of the most down to earth teachers I had for writing. She's always in a great mood and will do anything to help you. Her class isn't hard, easy A if you do all the assignments.

Holly is one of the most accepting, down to earth, loving teachers on campus. She is open to different kinds of people and is happy to help you with anything you need. She is funny and kind and will help you with extra things outside of class if you are kind in return. I highly recommend her.

Holly is a very smart, easygoing and charismatic person and seems to enjoy her job, and her class reflects that. She provides a lot of material to help you write your essays and offers further, thought-provoking discussion. I have never had an easier time picking topics for essays because the way she approaches it with you is so natural.

Holly is an awesome instructor. I found class with her was informative and she made the class seem really easy. She's open to help anytime you need it and really wants you to succeed. I took a hybrid course with her this term. It was really nice having it that way because we got some face-to-face time and the advantage to an online class.

She has a great sence of humor, and is super clear when telling the class what she want from them. I was waitlisted for a good reason, I can really understand why everyone wants to be in her class.

Holly is a wonderful person. Her lecture are very good. Her assignments can be difficult but, if you need help she is willing to help you. If you are willing to do the work you should do well in her class

Holly is one of the best instructors I've had for writing. I enjoyed her class a lot and would honestly take it again! Her assignments are not tough, but I do recommend doing the readings because you will have to free write on them sometimes. She is not a tough grader, in my opinion, you just have to pay attention and get help from her when needed!

Holly's the BEST! Totally present, approachable, positive, smart, savvy, clear, and very engaging and witty. She makes class great because she's so passionate about writing and is so encouraging. She's not a pushover, though - you have to do the work, but she makes it easy to learn, and she's there for you if you're struggling.

I was nervous to take WR121 online, she was awesome! She was always available for office hours and very nice and helpful. There were only 3 papers due throughout the term. I think she was a bit of an easy grader on MLA style and such, but I would %100 take another class with her.

Most online classes are difficult, but Holly's organization and clear instructions made this one less stressful and easier to keep up with. Personal orgaization and logging on several times a week, as well as weekly readings are mandatory in order to do well. Gives supportive feedback and is a fair grader.

Holly's class was amazing. It was my first online class I took at MHCC and it flew by. The weeks were organized very clearly and I never had any surprises. Essays all went well and she gave great feedback on everything. Would highly recommend.

I've taken Holly's WR121 and also her Later Shakespeare Plays course--both I loved! She is so personable and down to earth, it is very easy to learn and have a good time if you just pay attention. One of my all time favorite teachers/professors ever!

Holly's class was fantastic! I took WR121 in Spring 2016 online. Her web class was very organized, she always provided great feedback, and she has a great lesson plan that I found enjoyable. I felt like I learned from a great teacher. You'll be glad you took her class, especially if you enjoy reading and writing.

Holly is not only one of the nicest professors, shes willing to go above and beyond for her students! Make sure you do the reading because you will be quizzed on specifics. Shes fun, and also knows her stuff. Highly recommend!

Holly was a great teacher! I took her for online ENG104 and she always gave great feedback to papers and discussions. Its important to stay caught up with discussion posts though, because it can be easy to fall behind with all of the readings that you have to do. If you like writing though, I highly recommend taking her! :)

I take 121 online and I gotta say, she is nice and actually cares. Only 3 essays and that's it. NOT TEXTBOOK REQUIRED so that's a plus. She will link an article or short video and you have to talk about it and maybe answer a few questions. Some weeks it takes me 5-10 min to complete the discussion and I'm done. Gives good lengthy feedback, caring.

For my first college term it was quite nice to have Holly as one of my teachers. She was super nice and was very detailed in every piece of feedback she gave me. Thank you Holly!

Wonderful teacher! Her lessons were easy to understand, and she picked great short stories for us to read! There were only three short essays, and they taught me a lot! Overall, Holly has a great structure, organization, and a positive demeanor.

I don't typically like English classes, but Holly just made Intro to Lit one of the most fun classes that I have ever taken. Fun readings, and you can finish an entire weeks worth of reading in an hour. Definitely take this class.

Holly is one of the most adored people I've ever met. Ive never met someone who doesn't absolutely love her. Ive always struggled with writing and she has gone above and beyond to help me improve. She is super funny and makes class enjoyable and I am going to miss her so much when the term is over. <3

She's very kind and understanding. You have weekly readings, quizzes, and discussions but they are nothing too drastic and if they're going to be late, just communicate! Her grading criteria is easy to understand. There are three essays to do but they are fairly easy as well!

Very easy class. For the first half of the class there are weekly reading and viewing responses, class discussions, and tests - then for the second half you work on two essays. The teacher is very understanding if you submit late work and will work with you. As long as you maintain your deadlines and try you will get good grades.

Professor DeGrow is a very kind professor. Whenever I had a concern, I just emailed her and she responded quickly. She gives good feedback on papers and discussions and connects with each student. There is a lot of reading, but it is expected in a literature class. The readings are interesting and Professor DeGrow explains them well.

Really enjoyed her class. Very caring teacher. This class is fairly easy, make sure you attend class. The teacher gave out a fairly amount of homework, there was just one quiz, and another word quiz. I recommend taking her class.

I would like to say she is the most caring professor you are able to have. She truly believes and will help a student achieve their goals. Class is mostly compiled of essays and discussion posts. She also gives good feedback and will help you rewrite parts of your essays in order for you to get a better grade. She is a very involved professor.

Has a great selection of readings for the course, and is willing to work with you on novels for your final project. I really enjoyed taking Holly's Writing 121 class. Her essay topics were engaging. She is a fair grader and leaves plenty of feedback. She is sweet and spicy when it comes to jokes (in the best way). You can tell she genuinely cares about her students and what she teaches.

This professor was phenomenal!We had to do 3 essays and do discussion posts every week, she make her instructions very clear and easy to understand!She was always there to help and she is flexible with turning assignments late of course assuming you were communicating. This class isnt very easy, but it wasn't super difficult either,would recommend!
