If you come in with a willing attitude you will pass this class. Holly does an amazing job of making herself available to students and as long as you try she will do her best to help you.

She is a very easy teacher and moves really slowly. Good if you struggle with math, but if not you will be bored.

As a person that enjoys Math I found her tests fairly easy, however, if you are not the same she is always willing to spend time to help.

Holly was an absolutely amazing professor. She was always willing to help any student, even outside of class. And she was often willing to negotiate due dates of homework if most of the class needed more time to work. Make sure to do the reading assignments so that you can understand what's going on in class!

I never liked math until I took this class. She has great notes and examples. I am not good at math but I never got less than a B on the tests. If you have perfect attendance you get points at the end of the semester that can bring your grade up a lot!

Dickin is really cool and her exams aren't surprising. She tells you exactly what will be on the exams. Attendance is mandatory but you'll be rewarded for perfect attendance. She can be a little fast in talking but she is just a cool teacher in general and wants you to succeed. If you do your part you can easily get above a B

Holly is such a nice person. I hate math! But her exams were just like the homework- no surprises. There was a lot of groupwork, and you did your homework during class! I didn't have her in a lecture hall, and I'm sure it's a different set-up there, but either way she is an awesome prof and I would recommend her to anyone.

She is helpful and easy and a very nice women. TAKE NOTES OUTSIDE OF CLASS. I did and I passed with a 99.9%. I absolutely love going to this class and would definitely one with her again.

Really nice and helpful teacher. If you attend every class she will give you bonus. Do not have to turn in homework. You have quizzes over each lesson but they come from the notes. She also drops two of your lowest quiz scores.

I'm terrible at math but Holly is a saint. She lectures for a little & explains how to do problems we'll encounter on the homework. The homework is online through a really helpful program. I took a different professor and dropped the course. Seriously, Holly is freakin amazing. She gives CLEAR notes and is so good at describing the processes! One of the best math teachers I've had. She was by far the best professor I have had since coming to Ball State. There are quizzes usually every Tuesday but if you do the homework they are pretty clear. And without the quizzes I wouldn't have done well in the class. She is GREAT about meeting with you during office hours or through appointment!

She is very nice and treats you with respect. If you have a question she doesn't treat you like you're stupid. She is very helpful and explains things extremely well. She even pulled together little groups during class for people that needed extra help on topics while the rest of the class continued to work on their own. Awesome professor!!

Holly has a teaching style that significantly different than your average. She's there for you; reaches out to you, talks to you to understand your situation and how it may be affecting your grade, makes compromises to give those motivated students the chance to pass, even if they made some mistakes. Understanding and energetic, she's fantastic.

Amazing class. Very easy to take. She doesn't teach on a subject unless a lot of students need to know about it which is great. Quizzes every Monday, but it really helps with the test.

She is a really fun upbeat teacher and will tell you what you need to study for the test. But even though the class is on an online program called ALEKS, you must show up to class because it can really effect your grade at the end of the semester. I would also suggest working on ales outside of class.

She always is ready to help you every single class period. She even went out of her way to help me skip ahead two classes from 108 to 132.

Holly is super helpful and offers many resources to better your grade. Attendance is mandatory, but going helps ensure you'll finish your homework on time. If you do the homework then the quizzes and tests are super easy.

If you have to take MATH 132, take it with O'Connell. They get a one page cheat sheet on all of the tests, and that makes the class a whole lot easier. With Holly, there is not a cheat sheet, but she does give 10 extra credit points for perfect attendance. Homework is not graded. Tests can be overwhelming.

I am not a math person at all & I usually struggle in math classes, but I've had a 90% in this class all semester. Holly is amazing! Not only does she explain material clearly, but she is also always wanting to help students. She is super sweet, easy to talk to, and funny. Expect to work on homework daily, though.

She does assign a lot of homework, but in the end it really helps you understand the concepts much so better. She doesn't try to surprise you with nearly impossible material like some professors.

It was a difficult class if you miss one class and have to play catch up. The homework is actually more difficult than the quizzes and tests. Other than that, she really wants to make sure that you get a good grade. Very entertaining as well. Just, STAY OFF YOUR PHONE! She will call you out.

She gives great class notes to bring & take notes on. She also takes participation with iClickers, so those are easy points. Take advantage of office hours if you need to.

Holly is really great. Sometimes you'll have to remind yourself that she's your professor and not just a friend teaching you math. Doesn't like to lecture so that you can work on homework in class. It is a lot of homework but that's typical of any math class. The homework does help you learn. Take all her advice and you will be fine in her class

Ms. Holly is a great professor for Math132. She is very enthusiastic about teaching and really connects with her students, despite having a lecture of around 140 seats. Quizzes and tests are announced ahead of time and a couple of low grades are dropped at the end of the semester. If you miss an answer on a test/quiz, she often gives good feedback.

She's very enthusiastic about teaching and comes to class prepared every day. Your grade consists of online homework, quizzes, tests, and the final. She is even generous enough to drop a few of your lowest quiz and homework scores. She's also not a tough grader and will always try to give you partial credit if anything.

Great teacher!! Actually cares about the students and how they do, she gives clear notes, go to class (you get 3 skips, but if you don't miss any then you get extra points), Aleks code is needed, quizzes every Monday (10 questions), very approachable, I recommend her to all my friends!

I would not take 132 with any other professor. She is always prepared for class and knows her stuff. She offers lots of times to help outside of class as well and also has it set up to answer questions via email on the homework. I rated 3 on difficulty only because it is calculus. She genuinely cares about her students and wants us to all succeed.

The best math professor in the department by far! Holly really cares about her students succeeding, and it shows! She has posted office hours, and there were SI Sessions to go to to study for the quizzes and tests. Make sure to do all the homework - it's very helpful to practice it for the quizzes. If you have the chance to take her class, do it!

Very specific directions and encourages asking questions. Homework can be challenging but the quizzes and tests are only to test that you know the basic concepts. If you show up and do your homework and use the drop in tutoring as needed you should not have any problem getting a good grade.

Holly was great! There is a lot of homework each week via ALEKS, however I did not mind it. This was my first math class that I really learned things and understood them. Regular attendance gets you 50 points at the end of the semester.

I loved Holly! She is extremely nice and really wants you to do good in her class. There is homework every week, it is definitely harder than the lectures but it gets you more prepared for quizzes/exams. She explains very well and is really understanding! Of course Calculus is hard, but if you get the chance, take it with Holly!

I would always go to the 4th floor of the library and she would be there to help after class and she can work one on one with you. If you do not know something she will go over the problems with you.

Holly would always make sure I was on track. Working in ALEKS was time consuming and sometimes a lot of work, but her lectures went right along with what the topics for the week would be. Make sure to do the practice assignments for the tests/quizzes because they're basically the same question format, just different numbers.

Holly is such a gem of a professor. Im not sure what happened with her online classes from those negative reviews, but shes genuinely the best math teacher I have ever had. Math is something I really struggle with, but she always was there to help and never made me feel like any questions were stupid. So sweet and really wants to help you!

take Holly, I loved her. she always did reviews before tests and quizzes. Theres a quiz each week w two attempts, you see your score right after, it shows you what you got wrong. When you first start you have to do all the pre modules or you will be behind! If you dont watch the online lectures you wont pass, she explains way better than ALEKS!

I've never had such a WONDERFUL math teacher! I'm not the best with math but she recognizes each student's skill level and works through it with them individually. She took a lot of out of class time to make sure I understood the material and I'm so thankful to have gotten her!

Great professor. Her examples are very helpful and actually knows how to teach. She does not like any other devices out while she is teaching or when you are doing the tests. All of the work is on ALEKS and each mod is done every week. The tests are not that hard, just make sure to memorize the equations and graphs. Only 4 tests.

If you take Math 110, I recommend Holly 100%. You can tell that she cares about her students so much and wants them to succeed in her class. There is a textbook, but it is just so you can access ALEKS. Attendance wasn't mandatory but going to class really reflects well on tests and quizzes. Tried to teach myself a topic and failed. Go to class!

The textbook wasn't really useful at all for me, but her in-class notes were well done and provided all the material needed. She's amazing and takes the time to help students that are struggling. 10/10 take Holly's class if you can, it's worth it even if you have to get early in the morning.

Holly is very caring and the class was quite easy with her as a teacher. I got a C- because of unfortunate attendance causing me to miss assignments, but the class wasn't too hard. It's important to do in-class assignments and stay up-to-date on Hawkes.

By far the best professor I've had! If you have the opportunity 100% take her. There are in-class assignments you work in groups of 3 to complete very straight forward and she is there to answer any questions and guide you if you're struggling. No reason you should fail this class, tests are easy as long as you study. She wants to see you succeed.

Holly was absolutely amazing, I had her for the first few months of my MATH 125 class because my actual prof. was out. She has a fun personality and made math actually really enjoyable. SOME of the material was tricky, but not a whole lot of it, super nice and always tries to make sure each student has an equal experience.
