Good teacher, but too concerned with being politically correct and too busy engaging in the students personal affairs. Overall, good teacher, NOT BORING !just keep your OWN accurate records.

One of the few great open minded and insightful teachers I`ve had. Class is not too much stress, easy. I highly recommend her.

A truly outstanding professor who treats her students as friends, unlike other professors who think they know it all and feel superior to others. She is very clear in explaining topics that could be perceived as difficult. In my opinion, her distinct personality kept an otherwise boring topic, very interesting.

Extremely sweet. She wants to engage the class and does a great job to accomplish just that. She really listens to her students and asks the class to read very interesting material, no boring books. Very nice and understanding. Interesting prof. I highly recommend her.

Great if you don't like Bush....she's hillarious with her "screw the USA" banter. Even though she loves being American....LMAO!

Proffessor Hofmann is a caring professor! She cares about teaching her students how to take their minds to another level, not only where English is concerned but in life as well. If you work hard and maintain a open mind you'll love her 103 class!

She is the greatest teacher for English I have ever met. She is very friendly and very easygoing. Her papers are explained several times in class and is very fair and alomost too nice, I would recomend her over any other English teacher

Miss Hofmann is one of the most progressive conscious professor I have taken. She treats everybody with dignity and respect, and absolutely cares about each individual's progress in her class.

Really well structured class with plenty of diversity in the material. She chooses a lot of very interesting literature to cover. You'll have to read quite a bit, this isn't a class you can just shrug off, and there are quite a few essays to do, but if you put in the time and effort you are sure to learn a lot.

She is a very nice and cool instructor. I've never had an instructor like her.

This prof is really for the students and really tired to teach her students to do their best and use all resources avaiable to them in life. It was easy to see how much she enjoyed to teach those who may really need it, especially to succeed at the university level. If you want a prof who can really help you, she is the right one.

She is an excellent teacher that really cares about her students. She will work with you individually and actually encourages you to come to office hours. You will do great if you tend to improve on each paper you submit to her. We had to do one in-class essay and no final, just a self-evaluation! VERY COOL!

This is one of the most exciting classes I have taken at a JC. Professor H not only cares about her students, her assignments are very appealing. She helped me tailor my essays to have more impact. You have to be willing to write your own opinion and not just rewrite the reading assignments.

Profesor Hoffman is clear and helpful in her teachings.

I love taking her class. She was extremely caring and easygoing. She explains everything and is there for your assistance. I passed her class with a breeze, I received an A in the class and an A on all my papers. The books that she had us read were excellent. I attended english 021 course and section number 0940. She makes the course fun and inviting. I learned how to structure sentences for essay paper thta will be covered in english 28. She is very informative and easy to learn from.

She is a great teacher. extremely helpful and wants everyone to pass. The work was easy if you read. She gave good critiques on essays. Essays were explained throughly and we were given exmples and outlines on how to do them correctly. She wants you to learn andcares about her students! Take her class and you wont regret it!

She is extremely Helpful and helps you understand what is being taught. Although projects were a serious task, they were also enjoyable. She is a fun teacher and you really enjoy learning a lot.

Great Teacher! Uses the textbook a lot, so you don't feel like you have wasted any money. Also offers a lot of free resources and materials that come in handy and very helpful. Professor Hofmann is an excellent instructor,who truly cares about her students. Take her online classes,its not too much work load only about 3 assignments per week and 3 essays throughout the semester.If you want to get more points on a assignment you can make changes.Fast Food Nation is what you'll read in her class, which is an interesting book

I LOVE HER ONLINE CLASS. Discussions on chapters, three EASY essays throughout semester, very helpful modules. Trust me, you will not regret this online class.

Truly was inspired from her teachings you will learn so much from her lectures and power points. She give good grades however, you must complete the essays and read the short interesting novels. She is one of the best professors and lover her style.

I love this lady. If you want an experience that you will cherish forever by all means take take her class. all of them that you can. if your lazy and just looking for an easy c this is not the class for you. piss off somewhere else if thats the case. Thanks for everything professor Hofmann!

She is very good. Sometimes she forgets things, but she repeats thing more than once so if you dont get the due dates it is your problem. She actually finds vey interesting readings and makes the class participate as individuals, not as a crowd. I would reccomend her to everyone.

Had I taken this class prior to taking History 41/African American studies 4. I definately would have gotten an 'A'. This is because the essay writing portion of Prof. Hofmann's class was extremely helpful. If you don't like writing this class is the place you want to be. Thank you Prof. Hofmann for your teaching style. Really useful.

Professor Hofmann is a great motivator. She is clear about her assignments and she is always available to help. She brings out the best in her students. She leaves you wanting for more. Her choice of books is amazing especially Animal Farm. It was so interesting and truly makes you realize your political position as a citizen. I would take her all over again!! I just took her online class,yes she takes forever to grade and until now, still don't know what's my final grade, a lot of reading and homework, not too hard, because of how she run the online class, I would not recommend her, an online teacher should be on point and she is not she is kind of lazy a

Suppppper nice! MAkes clas fun! Not much homework only a few readings, 1 8 page essay due with a poster she makes it really easy divides the essay 2pages per 2 weeks. Very helpful. Easy class just do the work and you will pass. Shes funny and goofy shes a nerd but in a real funny way. Take her class! its's easy and shes a great teacher.

Professor hoffman is very passionate about her work. This is a critical thinking and analyzation oriented English class so she keeps everyone involved by having class discussions about the books we read and short essays she hands out. The class work and homework is doable.

This was by far my best class I took at West LA College. The professor was amazing. Her teachings were to the point and were very clear. I loved to be in her class and learn English and Grammar. I am now prepared for the next step in the English sequence.

hybrid winter class, it went fast but she is very helpful and wants the students pass her class. Shes super laid back and funny the texts were great as well. 3 short essays and a cool amount of assignments due.

Professor Hofmann is such an amazing, well spoken, helpful professor. She is always there to help you. Even though this was an online class Professor Hofmann was always there in her office for her students. I saw her a couple times to get help on stuff I didn't understand. If you need help on your English Grammar take this class. TAKE HER CLASS!!!!

Because of this Professor my faith in English has been restored I had given up on my writing skills and creative side but she has convinced me that I still have it in me its just a matter of bring it out and testing the waters. she is a very intelligent and kind spoken person and I truly enjoyed her class. you want be disappointed.

Professor Hofmann has a knack for teaching. She is an excellent communicator and she brings out the best in you, but not in an authoritarian way. She is one of the best professors at this college. Even when you don't believe in your self she believes in you and that you would do great on anything she throws your way. She has a clear outline on what sh wants to see when you write your essays and gives amazing feedback once she grades them. I'm looking forward to taking her English 103 class.

Professor Hofmann taught me so much during 5 week session! She is not a tough grader so just do your best at doing assignments in order to get a good grade. There is also a plenty of extra credit in case you mess up some of the assignments. Easy A.

She is hands down one of the best professors at West LA College. Although this was a summer online class she was very helpful and easy to reach when contacted. She gives great feed back when reading you essays. Don't be shy by the work load, if you keep up with your reading and manage your time wisely I'm sure you'll get an A in the class.

Prof Hofmann helped me release my fear of english/writing essays. But writing her assignments was easy and fun. She gives great feedback and is quick to respond to emails. I hope to take her for my next English class as I feel calm and at ease in her course. Do your work and you'll pass easily. I took the 6 wkcourse and i'm so glad it was with her.

I took her accelerated online summer class. We read two books and wrote many summaries and papers. As long as you can keep up with the work and understand what you are reading she will be easy on you.

Took her for World Lit 1 and World Lit 2, since they were small upper division classes she gave us her cell phone number. She's always open to helping students and gives some really great lectures. She's getting her PhD this year from UCLA. World lit/ languages are her specialty so if that's something you want to learn she's a great choice.

Took a 5-week class and passed with an A. The professor was super nice and helpful. I did not get the textbook.

I liked her class! You can use ZOOM and participate in the conferences or just watch the recorded videos of her lectures at any time! It works for all students: who want to listen to the lectures, or who work and are not able to participate in the conferences! I liked her ZOOMs! Take her class, and enjoy your life, reading the interesting stories!!
