Very nice, very helpful. doesn't seem to mind if you leave class early.
LOVED HER!!! She was a great teacher! Very clear and will help you whenever you need it. She is very patient. Take Her!
I've never met a more pepy teacher as she can be, even at 830 at night. The material itse;f is hard because of accounting but she makes it pretty easy. Very helpful and descriptive. Very nice and decently hot. Take her.
Good teacher, very happy all the time. She is really helpful in her office hours. Material is generic for all accounting classes, so i would recommend taking her if possible.
this class sucks but she is the best teacher to get for it. she ALWAYS had this huge smile on her face which sometimes would cheer me up and other times would freak me out.

If you take her and don't get an A something is very wrong with you. The avg on test were like 85. I missed two ?s the whole semester and stopped going after the first test. The class is really hard to sit through because its so easy and she doesnt like it if you leave early.
the class itself is boring. But Sudano is a great teacher. tries to make the class as easy as possible. goes over several problems and examples in class. she is so friendly and is ALWAYS smiling. smiles so much its kind of scary! overall, great teacher.
Holly is a great teacher. She is very sweet and does a great job teaching a boring and stupid subject.
Really friendly & explains things well. She also puts lots of practive material online and goes over a lot of it in class. Print these out and bring them to class and write down the solutions as she goes over them and you should do fine. Definitely take this class with her if you can

Decent at best. Great prep for the easier exams 1&2 but the practice problems and class lectures were insufficent and subpar for the cumulative final. I got a B in the class after having aced Financial. Sweet lady but not affective in my opinion.
Amazing Teacher
So super nice! But class is very hard! Hard tests even after going over notes and practice problems! Hard class but enthusiastic nice teacher.... just HARD TESTS!
she's a nice teacher, but her lectures and practice problems don't help much, you either know it or you don't. she's definitely willing to help you work on problems to prepare for tests, but isn't very lenient if you're close to the next letter grade. her smiling and squeaky voice is almost nauseating at times, although she's nice.. HARD CLASS!!
Sudano=Devil...Somehow Sudano made managerial hard. Take Brink, she gives better reviews for the tests and shes a lot hotter.
Wonderful teacher! Very nice, goes through examples slowly and will repeat anything that you ask her to and explain every detail. Yes, it is a hard class, just as you would expect it to be, but she has got to be one of the best teachers for it. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
this lady smiles more than anyone you know.
very perky
Classes were among the most boring at FSU. I ended up not going for the last 2 months, and I actually learned the material better. She is nice, and smiles a lot. Tells you you need a prs, but then we didn't use it. tests are by department, so they are as hard as ever. I would go for another teacher, but she wasn't bad.
Excellent professor! Gives lots of practice problems, many in class examples. Attendance not mandatory but encouraged. Exam reviews are very helpful.
swear she was a cheerleader, sometimes smiles so much you think she might cry. willing to help you, lectures are easy to follow but she explains one problem a few different ways. going to class is optional but highly recommended. her ppts are very helpful in studying for the tests. Tests are department regulated and arent easy.
Great Accounting teacher! She couldn't be more clear in teaching and expectations for the tests. If you actually go you'll do a lot better than if you don't. I only missed 3 classes and I got a 94.
I felt as if she didnt prepare us for the final exam. The hardest questions from the whole semester were on the tests. Not enough tiem during exams, I ran out of time every exam. boring class, very monotone. I aced Financial Accounting but got a D in this class. Something is wrong with that.
I didn't go to one class last semester and got a B. I could've gotten an A if I would've studied more and given it a more serious effort. Her material online is excellent and makes it very easy to teach it to yourself and be able to miss every class. P.S She's very cute not hot.
The information might SEEM simple, but trust me when I say it's incredibly easy to make a mistake on the exams. Make sure you attend every class and keep up with the practice problems. Don't procrastinate! Also, take note of the "common mistakes" that she talks about in class! PS- Her smile is incredibly distracting. (You'll see.)
First let me just say that she loves teaching! She is really nice. You don't need to buy/read the book. You need to do ALL of her online practice problems a COUPLE of times AND read her powerpoint notes. If you do these two things you should get a A or B in class and STUDY a couple of days in advance for the final..
Very peppy. Test questions are some times vague. Gives very good test logistics.
Teacher is really nice and helpful. However, she doesn't write the exams... the department does. This makes the exams (especially the final) REALLY hard. I recommend going to TutoringZone. The guy there does a good job at showing what to look out for on the exam and makes material CRYSTAL clear.
Ms. Sudano Is a very helpful teacher. She is very nice, and really wants you to do well. The tests are hard, but if you practice all the problems she gives you it is very easy to do well.
Fair class, she's very perky and composed. Don't be sucked into the lectures' soft problem examples, the test questions will challenge you and you need to review the materials long and hard or else you'll have a hard time passing.
Very enthusiastic teacher, who offers ample support for any problems. However, tests are bit more challenging than the problems given in class, so make sure you study.
Sudano is a great professor, but the class is very challenging. I thought it was a little easier than managerial until the end, then the class destroyed me. It is not her though, as I would recommend her for the class. She is far from Pierno, she hopes you do well, and you can tell she really cares.
Awesome teacher! She makes sure that you understand the material before moving on. If you go every day and put time and effort into studying you can easily make an A.
I went to class on the first day and that's it. I did go to T.Z. for the reviews, which helped. The prof doesn't matter much for this course, since the department writes the test for every prof anyways. I finished with a B only because I failed the cumulative final. Not a hard class, and the one time I saw the prof, she seemed nice, very smiley.
Sudano is REALLY enthusiastic about accounting which helps when you want to gauge your eyes out in class. Go to Tutoring Zone as it is extremely helpful. Helps with the tougher problems on the exam becasue what she gives in class is way too easy. Jon is a really good tutor too.
Prof. Sudano is very nice and enthusiastic about the subject. I only went to class a few times, though. If you do her problems that she posts on bb a few times each you should be fine for the tests. I found managerial to be much easier than financial and she cares alot more about her students. Gave a little bit of ec and rounded grades a little too
Teaches you nothing. Goto Tutorzone or fail. Doesn't care that she shows you super easy questions in class then uses the hardest most complicated questions on the test and doesnt prep you at all. This is the worst teacher I've ever had.
Extremely nice lady with a kind heart. However, one of the more difficult classes I've take at FSU. I got an A in ACG2021 with no problem but I worked hard for my A- in her class. The examples she gives do not compare to the test questions. She's readily available to help any students that need her assistance but don't rely on the notes to do well on the test. Great lady, tough class.
Just get through this class. Totally boring. Nearly impossible final. I had a solid A- or a B+ before that beast. However, Holly is HOT!
She is the worst. She makes the class so much harder than it should be. The practice problems are a joke compared to the exam.
Class is very hard! Go to class, do the homework, and be as prepared as possible for the exams. Holly will help you with the material if you ask her!
very enthusiastic teacher, can brighten up a person's day! difficult course but she's always willing to help students. no surprise she has the highest CPA score in the state of FL
I don't think she ever stopped smiling! Definitely would recommend, class not mandatory, grade is based off the 3 tests and final. I did tutoring zone and got an A-
great teacher but very hard exams
She really cares for her students and wants them to do well in her class. But her exams are HARD!!! You need to do tutoring zone to do well on her exams because a lot of the questions on the exams she doesn't cover in class.
Holly is a great lady with a huge heart. Out of all the teachers I have had, it seems to me that she cares for her students the most. The material is pretty easy, but there are some test questions that are way more difficult than the material discussed in class. If you try it's an easy A-. Also, she curved the class 6-7 points.
Her class is hard!!! You definitely have to do tutoring zone to do well. She doesn't cover everything in class and she assumes you will actually read and do all the problems in the textbook. Her test questions are a lot harder compared to practice problems she does in class.
It might be that I just don't get accounting... but this class SUCKS. She teaches you an easy problem and expects you to know how to do a much harder one for the test. I have a 3.75gpa and don't think I will be passing this class. Hardest class I've ever taken
Class is not that bad, I didn't do tutoring zone and still got an A. In my opinion questions on the exams are very similar to those in class exercises and homework. The worst thing about it is that the final is cumulative but it's doable. Holly is very nice and eager to help. If you can't handle this class don't major in accounting.
Holly is very willing to help. 1000 students and STILL answers all email immediately. She is very clear in lectures. You DO have to put in the effort to do well in her class. Also it's true she smiles all the time! Extremely knowledgeable in her field. Holly is one of FSU Acct Department's best assets! Excellent instructor.
Hardest class ive ever taken. I totally bombed it but its not her fault. She is a very nice teacher and is very clear and easy to understand. The material and tests are very difficult
Idk how everyone says this is better than financial. I found financial much more logical. This is just like a word problem class that takes really easy concepts, and jacks them up with its main goal being to confuse you to no end. I thought I liked accounting, but I guess not. This class is hard.
I enjoy her as a teacher but I've had to take this class multiple times... as most people have.
Do not go to class, she just rambles. Tz helped alot as well. Taking this class with financial was hard being that she made sure to put the test RIGHT after one another.
She is very nice and cares about her students. Does a better job of covering examples in class and reviewing for exams than Pierno/Financial. Do and understand the WileyPlus homework and class exercises (which she gives the answers to in class) and you'll be fine. I got an A in the class.
Very hard course. The lectures aren't always the easiest to follow, but if you ask her individual questions she is very informative.
This course is very challenging if you don't keep up with everything. Holly is extremely helpful and wants her students to do well. So if you work hard and ask questions, you'll be fine.
One of the best instructors I have ever had. Holly is willing to go the extra mile for her students. She responds to email asap even with 2 sections of 500 each. Exams are hard. Do the work, you will be fine. Yes she smiles all the time! I really believed this helped me learn better.
She is great! Make sure to take advantage of office hours if you don't understand material. She is very helpful and willing to sit with you until you understand it perfectly. The course material is challenging, but if you put the time in you can do very well and get an A. Its a college ACCOUNTING class, you have to STUDY. Totally recommend Holly!
definitely recommend taking her. shes really nice and knows the material like the back of her hand. she goes slow enough in class to easily understand it. this class is easier than financial accounting
Holly is amazing she has to be the best professor i have had in FSU she is very clear and articulate when she teaches is always willing to help in office hours and via email and loves helping students so do not be afraid by the rumors that the class is hard it is very manageable and she makes it easy to understand
Holly is such an energetic person. She is always smiling and encourages students to ask questions. The class is very challenging and you must put in work. I failed every test except for the final and go a B- in the class. It was hard for me, but talk to her because she is willing to help :)
Hardest class I've ever taken., but never went to class. Very difficult exams, and WileyPLUS homework takes a lot of time and is a huge pain. I went to TZ and studied for days before exams. Still got a C, but glad it's over! ... dat smile tho.
I've never had a professor as caring and concerned as Holly. She makes what would usually be a dreadful class very pleasant. If you ever need any help, go to office hours ! She will work with you until she's sure you understand. She also takes the time to get to know her students and learn things about them. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER !
Super upbeat, makes the subject more interesting. Tests can be difficult, but if you study comprehensively, pay attention in class, do online homeworks and practice assignments, you should be fine! very helpful
This class is very hard, but Holly goes above and beyond to help her students. The unit exams are very challenging, and I actually failed two of them. I spent half the semester thinking I was going to fail the class, but studied a lot for the last unit exam & final. Ended with a B-. Use Study Edge if you're in danger of failing. It will save you!
Nice but not helpful
Holly is by no doubt a very nice lady, always smiling and very enthusiastic. However, her exams are tricky and she either breezes trough the material or drags it out to make it more complicated than it has to be. If you reach out to her she will help, but you're more or less on your own. Boring lectures overall, can't beat that smile though!
She's super sweet but if you have a short attention span or don't learn well from stagnant, boring lectures AVOID this professor. Had to drop this class after exam 1, couldn't learn in this setting.
Holly is by far the worst professor I've had. Although nice and smiling literally all the time, she rambles on in class and isn't exactly clear with the material. THE TESTS ARE SO CONFUSING AND NOT WHAT SHE TEACHES. I've taken this class now two times, and have to take it for a 3rd timeand I got a A- in Financial Accounting.
Holly is like lukewarm milk- not terrible and not great... at the end of the day she will just put you to sleep. While she is a very nice person, it is hard to take her seriously. In five years I do not think I will even remember her name or most of what I learned in the course... she was that unimpressionable. Dresses cute though!
I really liked Holly. Try to take her if you can. She is always happy and genuinely cares about her students. Even though the material is tough, she really tries to engage the students and make it as interesting and easy as possible.
Holly is super nice, sometimes she flies through material, but if you go to class, do the practice problems/homework and semi-understand accounting concepts, you should be fine!
Holly is a very nice lady but is deathly boring and reads straight off of her notes. The class consists of three tests and a final. The tests are much harder than the Hws and the notes, i know the material inside and out and still end up with 77s. Overall she is a great lady but makes the exams much too hard.
The exams in this class are decently tricky, and your final grade only consists of the four exams and homework without any curves. However, Holly wants her students to do well. Dat smile doe :)
Managerial Accounting with Sudano is not horrible, she is a very sweet lady that wants you to do well. You have 3 Exams and a final, and homework assignments due before each exam online. The exams are not bad at all, the homework is harder. Easy B with just her study guides. I recommend Study Edge, I got an A by using their packets. A godsend.
The tests are tough but you can redeem yourself if you flunk one or two ;) but you have to study. It's not one of those classes that you can ignore. Pay attention in class even though her lectures can get boring. Get all your homework points, you're going to need it.
Holly is one of the nicest professors I have ever had. Although her lectures are long, it is worth going. She gives points to students who attend class. Best advice is to study and do all sorts of practice problems. If you study - you will pass!
Holly is super nice, it is funny when she is talking about how bad everyone did, but with a smile so it seems like everything will end up alright. If you did well in Ron's class, keep the same study habits and you will do fine. If not, study hard and do ALL the practice problems/homework problems multiple times and re-read the notes.
Pretty easy class for the most part. Basically read, do homework, and it's an easy A. Holly is a pretty typical professor, not great, not bad. If you catch her in her office (which is hard to do) she is the bomb when it comes to explaining things. If there are any other choices for 2071, I wouldn't take them. She can be rude, but shes great.
Holly is very nice and I would love her if she wasn't teaching such a hard class. Her lectures should only be 50min because its so hard to listen to accounting for so long but you really do need to go to class. Tests are extremely difficult and you need to devote your life to managerial for at least 3 days prior to maybe pass it. Do your homework!
Holly is a great teacher for visual learners. She handwrites the notes in class and those notes are exactly what you need to know for the exam. No tricks on the test, either you know it or you don't. Always tries to crack a joke when she can. The class is difficult, but with good studying is very doable. Practice the MyAccoutingLab before the exams
Hard class. Use TZ. Tests are worth the majority of your grade. Good Luck:)
She only gives you note packets. The homework is nothing like the tests. When i asked for extra practice problems from her she said use the book. But the book's problems are nothing like the test.
Awful professor overall. Just reads off her notes. The book problems and homework quizzes that are supposed to be "practice" do not prepare you for the tests at all. No curves even though there should be. Trying to not have to take this class again but we'll see. If not the worst, then definitely one of the worst professors I've had at FSU by far.
Showing interest and hard work pays off. Sudano is very helpful and always smiling when she teaches.... literally
Holly is a fantastic professor and person. She teaches the subject really well if you pay attention to what she is showing you. Show up to class, do the homework, then take the tests. That's all you need for an A, for the most part. She'll always make sure to help you if you need her during office hours. Make use of her before the FAR classes!
After taking professor Paterson for Financial accounting, it is really obvious that Sudano is not lenient in any way. The homework assignments aren't bad, but they do not help prepare for the exams AT ALL. There are no curves on the exams. She reads directly off of her notes so lectures are not very good at all, learned the material by myself.
You take three exams and a final. There are questions for a very small amount of your grade and about 10-12 homework assignments. It's a lot of practicing problems outside of class to make sure you understand.
The hard part about this class is you could think you know the material and do perfect on the homework, but you could still fail the tests. The worst part about holly is that her lectures seem easy, but the test are hard & she will never curve an exam or take the extra time some students need. She would rather send you to the TAs who aren't helpful
One of the most challenging classes that I have ever taken. Holly was very passionate about accounting but the tests were very difficult. Make sure to do the practice questions she recommends!!
Class wasn't easy. Its a bit challenging depending on your accounting knowledge. Holly is great lady. Always smiling and super sweet!
Just not okay, she reads directly from her slides in an online lecture and does the easiest problems. She then has homework where you have to go back to the book and relearn the material by yourself because what she taught is different. The test questions are nothing like what she goes over in her lectures, get tut0ring z0ne and study!
TZ or reading the textbook are your best bet for this class!!
Best professor at FSU! Holly breaks down every concept to it's simplest form and assigns an appropriate amount of Homework, considering it is an accounting class. I promise if you follow the exact directions on her syllabus on how to succeed, you'll get an A. Don't waste your money on TZ!
test were long and hard :p
if i had the choice, i'll write an essay on this lady. Coming from paterson, i would say she is a better teacher, but her test was ridiculous . In class you'll understand everything but on the test , its a complete story. the test were super hard, definitely the final. You'll understand the concepts but she's the type that wants to go deeper. ughh!
Prof breaks down material into easy to learn chunks that match the homework and suggested study questions, but the tests are presented completely differently from anything seen before. It makes it very difficult to do well on the test even if you know the material she lectured on.
Holly is a really nice professor who really cares about her students. However, the tests are really really hard. The only reason I passed was the chapter reviews offered by Skoolers. They really opened my eyes to all the different twists and stuff.
Her lectures and homework are nothing like what you'll see on tests. That is what makes this class difficult. I found myself doing the hw just to get credit, and then I did the actual studying using skoolers reviews which I 100% recommend. The class itself is difficult, but definitely doable if you study and practice the right practice problems.
Definitely the hardest class I've taken at FSU. Tests contain more info than what's provided in lecture and Sudano was not much help herself. Went to her office hours, made an appointment and she never showed. Nearly impossible to pass but somehow I did
IF you can avoid taking this class with Sudano, do it. Didn't learn anything in her class and her lectures dont help at all. Used Skoolers for all the tests and she still managed to confuse you. Homework problems are absolutely nothing like the test. Just use Skoolers.
Holly is a great professor. She responds to emails very quickly and is always willing to help. ACG2071 is a very tough course but Holly does a wonderful job of explaining the difficult material. Lots of homework, tough tests, and in class assignments are what you should expect. Would recommend Holly to anyone!
She is a very nice lady, but her class is very hard. Her lectures and homework are almost completely useless when preparing for the tests. If you take this class with her I recommend getting involved with Skoolers the very first week. I waited until the Final to go to Skoolers and barely passed this class with what I needed.
Holly's class was so hard. Her lectures and notes were nothing like her exams. I would not recommend her class to anyone. Take it at a community college because her class is not worth your time.
If you fill out her blank outlines in class, read the text, and do the practice problems she recommends before tests, it isn't so bad. However, I did not find the homework to be very helpful for tests. You really get what you put into this class, TZ is unnecessary just show up for every class and actually study.
Holly is a great professor and makes the material accessible and easy to understand.
You need to go to class for attendance points. She is awesome and worked with me through a really hard semester and ended up bumping me from a B- to a B. She is amazing and very understanding and a great professor. I would still buying skoolers packets but she is great.
Take the class online to save yourself some time. Her lectures and notes are beneficial but you will not pass with just those. Homework on MyMathLab every week is completely useless and will just confuse you to no end, also very time consuming. BUY THE SKOOLERS REVIEW- my life savior. Not like Patterson where there are practice quizzes.
Please save yourself time and stress and buy skoolers. I waited until the final and just barely passed. This class is hard especially if you had a tough time with financial accounting.
Holly cares about her students and is very responsive for emails, but very hard class and the material taught isn't similar to what is on exams. Use skoolers.
Holly is an incredible teacher who really knows her information. While the exams are difficult and will require ample studying, it is possible to do well. Recommend attending the PASS sessions at ACE for extra help as well as Skoolers. Not a terrible class if you put in the work.
I was worried to take this class w/ this prof bc of her poor reviews. I didn't have to buy skoolers and got an A on every exam including the cumulative final just by going to class, filling out the notes, doing the ridiculously easy hw and studying before the exam. Basically put in the effort and you'll do well.
I took this class over summer A and it was pretty tough. For a subject like accounting, I think you can learn best when you go to class and see the professor work out the problems. It was hard to learn the entire class with 30 min online lectures per chapter that didn't go over every type of problem seen. Exams are very challenging.
I love Holly. She is always cheery and I really do enjoy how well structured her class is. She responds to my emails quickly and informs the class of all available resources for help. The lowest test and lowest assignment grade are taken out of the total class grade. Nonetheless, the tests are tricky and you neeeeeeed to study.
I took the class online and the material and tests are kinda tricky. Homework and discussion boards are easy. Lowest grade of each are dropped. The professor is very nice and friendly. Take the class but be ready to study!
Holly is very sweet and responsive. Lowest discussion board, hw assignment and exam is dropped. This is great but the material does not prepare you for the exams. I am already paying for MyAccountingLab, now I have to pay for Skoolers just to pass the exams which isn't fair. This class isn't deadly but be prepared to study.
Holly is a caring professor, but her exams are very difficult. The homework and online practice problems are nothing like what's on the exam, and sometimes want you to solve a problem a different way than Holly teaches. Listening to her lectures and doing well on homework doesn't mean much. LOTS OF STUDYING AND BUY SKOOLERS IF YOU WANT TO PASS
The lectures included her reading her notes and nothing more - absolutely no elaboration, and the notes weren't all that helpful. The homework was nothing like the exams, and she tested not necessarily on the big picture but on small useless details. Most test questions included information you did not need to complete the question. study 24/7.
This class was not easy but if you're going into it expecting to get an easy A, then maybe you need to rethink your major. Sudano was a wonderful prof, I only went to class a couple times and got by watching the lectures she posted online and doing SKOOLERS!! GET SKOOLERS. As long as you study and put the work in, this class will not be difficult.
Homework and mylab do absolutely nothing to prepare you for the tests, so you basically have no way to prepare for them outside of class. Skoolers is 100% necessary. They break down what the questions on the test will be like and give you quizzes to practice. Very nice lady, but test 2 is ridiculous. Get to drop one test grade. It will be that one.
Goes way too fast, skips over the important formulas, exams are nothing like myLab assignments.
The class is tough but it is very doable. For the exams I recommend completing the outline, doing the practice questions she recommends and then redoing the homework questions. It seems like a lot, but this class requires practice if you want to do well. Going to class is beneficial and the attendance points help. Go to the pass sessions.
Exams are extremely difficult and nothing like the online homework assignments. I study for hours and always have been a good student and manage to get below a 70 on the exams. Hope I pass, Good luck Charlie
This class isn't easy, but if you do practice questions, you'll be fine. This isn't a class where you can do well if you don't actually study. One thing I will say is the exams are weighted WAY too heavily. I did well on them and am concerned I won't get an A just because every question you miss is worth like 7 points.
Get skoolers! I took this class online and without a doubt instantly bought the skoolers review. The homework is completely different from what you learn but she drops the lowest grade of discussion, test, and homework. 3 test and 1 final. Good teacher just hard class.
Holly is the best! She's a great person to know in the Accounting department, and she's one of the most caring and hardest working people I've met. She really does care for her students and will go out of her way to help them with whatever they need. This class was pass/fail, but I'd take any other class with her if I could.
TAKE THIS ACG2071 AND ACG2021 AT A COMMUNITY COLLEGE!!!! I can't stress this enough. FSU profs go out of their way to make material way harder than they need to be. Im serious, be smart take it at a community college (unless you are a Accounting major)
Like others I did Skoolers so I know nothing about Holly as a teacher. However, the MyAccountingLab was frustrating and useless when compared to Paterson's Canvas HW. It costs too much, takes too long, and doesn't prepare for exams. Exams were fair, and the final exam was very easy. Get to drop lowest exam. Not as bad as people say it is.
Overall not as hard of a class people make it out to be if you simply put in the work and study. MyLab is horrible and has no correlation to exams and is a waste. Skoolers def is the way to go and makes things simpler. If you put in the effort, you will pass without a doubt. Have to work hard though.
I used Skoolers for ACG2021 so I used it from the start for this class. I would take this class online if you plan on using Skoolers, or else you'll have to go to class and sit there and answer participation questions. It was ridiculous how she made us pay $70 for MyLab for homework that takes WAY too long and is worth so little of your grade.
She was super respectable and sweet. Defiantly get the skoolers packet because it is an extra review on top of the one she gives you. Make sure you are really staying on top of your work and start your homework early because some will take longer than others. The second test is super hard but the lowest test grade is dropped.
Honestly professor Sudano is great and knows her stuff. One's grade will be completely on them and how much work they do out of class. Lectures can be extremely boring sometimes because of the content but she does a great job making sure the class is always on pace with her. The class is no joke. Gotta really study for exams.
Made me rearrange my house in order to take a test at a desk in a closed environment because taking a test in the dining room is "suspicious". Show some feel lady. We are in the middle of a pandemic, and you are still coming up with ridiculous demands.
She's really not that bad as people say, just keep up with the lectures and GET SCHOOLERS IF YOU WANT TO PASS. I cannot stress this enough!! get the packets!! be prepared to study, one test is dropped and Test 2 is insane.
This class takes A LOT of work. I cannot stress this enough: GET SKOOLERS!! They are the only reason why I am at least passing. The exams are rough (esp. the 2nd) but the first two are the hardest! Really make sure you do skoolers and examples she posts in canvas (BOTH). Really put in the work and you might be able to pull off a B. Good luck....
Nothing against Sudano i just don't think she's the best teacher. Lectures are boring, and can be kinda confusing. cannot emphasize this enough GET SKOOLERS!that's all you need, HW is useless. However, you HAVE to put time for this class, i'm not good at accounting or math but bc i studied in advance for the exams i had at least a B for all tests!
I got 33/35 on ACG2071 final exam. If you spend enough time on studying, this class wont be that hard. Professor Sudano is a brilliant person, she knows what she is teaching. Dont have to spend money on Skoolers, I suggest you spend more time on STUDYING instead. Tip: try to study at least 4 HOURS PER CHAPTER in total, not include phone time: )
Solid teacher. Very hard class. Be prepared to study constantly. However, if you work very hard in this class and put in the time, an A is possible
She's very nice and caring but this class is pretty hard. She's usually pretty specific on what's going to be on the exams but if you think you studied enough, study a little more just in case. Keep up with the homeworks and don't slack because if you do there's a high chance you will not pass.
This class isn't as bad as everyone makes it seem. she is responsive & caring. If you want to pass the class all you need to do is put the work in & study the EXAMPLE questions she puts on canvas. The HW has literally no correlation to the tests. you do not need to get skoolers. make sure to do well on the FIRST test. she drops the lowest test & HW
Listen I am a 4.0 student, when it comes to my classes I really don't mess around and I 100% put in all the work I can. That being said I never got higher than a 66 on any of my exams WITH the skoolers packets. The homework has nothing to do with what you see on the exams. Her lectures barely cover anything. I only barely passed cause of skoolers.
As others have said, I thought I was through the worst of it after completing 2021 with Patterson. I was wrong. I ended up with a B+ in this class but only because I used Skoolers the whole semester and lucked out on the final. Use Skoolers or Chegg or whatever for the HW cuz it looks nothing to do with the tests. Good luck.
Save yourself time and take this class online. Was a snoozefest listening to her speak. She pretends to act like she cares about her students but I'd be shocked if she remembered more than two of our names. Overall, take the class online and use Skoolers. In the longrun it will do more for you than sitting through this.
This class is tough. Youre going to have to work for your grade. Homeworks are useless. Do not waste your time studying them. Do the canvas examples she posts until you know how to do them in your sleep and you'll be fine. Second exam is the worst but do not give up because the third and final exam are the easiest. Use skoolers for exams if you can
I've only watched a handful of her lectures; the Skoolers reviews are way more thorough. I only bought the chapter reviews (no exam reviews) and have gotten A's on all of her exams. The Connect program is a waste of money, but unfortunately, you need it to turn in her homework, which is nothing like the exam questions.
This class with Skoolers is good. The homework is hard though. I used Chegg and was totally fine.
I was scared to take this class, but it honestly wasn't bad. She's very clear on what you need to do to pass and gives you all the materials you need. The Connect HW was questions from the textbook. Canvas HW is questions she created. Connect was pretty average. Put in the time, watch the lectures, take notes, and do the HW and you should pass.
Definitely not an easy class, harder than financial accounting for sure. Not the professor's fault, just a hard subject and the tests reflect that. Never watched a single lecture just did skoolers packets the day before each test and scraped by with a B-. This class weeds out the weak so just keep your head down and get through it.
By the "Get ready to read" tag, I mean get ready to live and breathe accounting problems if you wanna pass. I was failing until I got Skoolers and I definitely recommend that. Exams are tricky but Skoolers problems are very similar, so that will be your best study guide. Also, Prof. Sudano is quick to respond to any questions you may have
This class is super hard without skoolers. I got a D on the first exam, then I got skoolers and got a B on the second exam, an A on the 3rd exam, and an A on the final. Her practice problems don't help that much because she just shows her work and doesn't explain where she gets her answers. And the hw isn't helpful. Get Skoolers!!
I'm in the middle of taking this class currently. This class is similar to ACG2021 in terms of information difficulty. Buy skoolers before the first day of class. It will be your best friend. Use skoolers HW for the class HW, they are the same questions with different numbers. THAT WILL SAVE YOUR GRADE. At least pass the exams and you'll be fine.
A lot of these comments are unfair. I still have the 3rd test and final to take, but I have an A . People complain about her lectures but u can't expect to just watch the lectures and to automatically know the material. I suggest watching the videos, taking notes on the textbook w/ the test guide and the practice questions and you'll be fine.
If you are the type of student to genuinely put in work, you shouldn't have an issue. The harsh reviews are from people who expect to pass by just studying a Quizlet last minute. I have an A, and I just thoroughly study the canvas example problems and Skoolers (at least a week before the exam).
She doesn't teach anything. There is no explanation for the problems. All she does is read out the notes during the recorded lectures. She doesn't provide any valuable information for the students. McGraw Hill is the only resource to use. The test questions are different from the ones in the homework. There is no test study guide. She sucks.
Maybe this class will be better when it's in person but for now, it doesn't translate well to online. The HW doesn't line up with the tests so Skoolers is the best bet for understanding what to expect on exams. I eventually stopped watching lectures and just used Skoolers instead. Good luck!
Professor Sudano only posts videos as her lectures every week, and it's difficult to know what you're struggling with until the exam comes as there is only 1 homework assignment every week. She seems nice but I never felt prepared for the exams so I ended up using skoolers and did really well in the class.
Hard Class but it's passable if you put in work. Skoolers was very helpful. Make sure you understand all the concepts in the Skooler videos before exams.
Study the Canvas problems a lot! I did not use Skoolers this semester and received a A+. The class is overwhelming at first, but once you get into a study routine, it becomes super simple. Sudano is a great professor, and quickly responds to emails. The second test is by far the hardest, so keep that in mind! Good luck!
While not a complex class like Bio or a Math class, getting an A on the tests requires a total understanding of the material, and being able to work through problems fairly quick. This is harder because there are only about ten practice questions per chapter given. I studied about 10 hours per test and 15 for the final. Sudano is nice and friendly.
Although I felt Skoolers was certainly needed, even more important may be maintaining and dedicating yourself to a consistent studying schedule awhile ahead of each exam. A studying schedule saved my grade many times, along with the ACE Tutoring that FSU provides. Lowest exam grade gets dropped, and Professor Sudano will reply quickly to emails.
Sudano is a good teacher but skoolers is absolutely necessary to pass the exams. The exams make up the majority of the grade and are difficult to prepare for because not much practice material is given.
Professor Sudano is a good teacher and she tries her best to help everyone and make sure you actually learn. She provides everything you need in order to succeed. The classes content in itself is hard you just have to put in the effort and youll be fine.
Super understanding, favorite professor yet.
This course is difficult. You will need schoolers or good luck. Sudano posts videos with slides and just reads off of them they normally have nothing to do with the homework or tests. She is very kind though and understanding of students going through things and will respond to emails very quickly. Again...you WILL NEED schoolers.
The rumors are true... get skoolers. I showed up to class like 3 times but got skoolers and got an A.
Awful class. Even though prof responds to emails quick and answers your questions whenever needed, when asking for help on material no help is provided. Have asked her multiple times for help on material and if she has any resources, but she just tells you to refer to her lectures which are 5 mins long and just her reading off notes. 0/10
Professor Sudano is so nice during office hours but do not be fooled her tests are VERY difficult. I got Skoolers atfer the first test (looked at recommendations here on RMP) and its the only reason I passed. Like people here said too she responds to emails super quickly but her lectures are not anywhere near thorough enough.
No, you do not need Skoolers - I got an A+ without it. What is more important is studying for this class CONSISTENTLY throughout the semester, and not waiting until a few days before each exam to study. The exams are difficult and require a complete understanding of the material. If you fully understand the notes & problems, you will be good.
The homework is nothing like the tests so don't even bother. The practice problems on Canvas are just random numbers without work being shown to get to said numbers. The online lectures are 5 minutes long and consist of the professor reading word-for-word off of a barebones chapter outline. Get Skoolers or look elsewhere for actual class resources.
Study hard and get schoolers, it felt a lot better than financial accounting but it still took me 10-15 hours of studying per exam to get an A
The online lectures were reading off of the page word for word and ultimately unhelpful at explaining anything. The website's homework solutions were easier to understand than her written solutions. She doesn't post exam scores until her team "reviews Honorlock footage" for multiple choice exams. Strict yet hypocritical standards for exam-taking.
Like other reviews, I'd say Sudano means well but just reads off the slides making lectures worthless. Get Skoolers right from the start and you should be set. Also the HW doesn't prepare you for the exams at all.
Sudano shows no effort towards teaching the actual content of this class, nor does she care to gear her content towards the incredibly difficult tests she puts out. She does not have any real step by step teaching along with the fact that you must go out of your way to get Skoolers in order to prepare for her tests. Not recommended.
She only reads off the slides and her exams are very hard
Had to drop the class as I studied for the test and even paid for schoolers but got an F. "Lectures" are just her reading from the slides. I will be retaking in person as the tests for this class are nothing like the homework.
This is coming from a student that has tried nearly EVERY resource she provided for her class. Her textbook overview videos, her lectures, filling out her outlines in tandem of her lecture videos, going through the online and physical problems she provided on canvas, and NONE of these have helped in her exams whatsoever. Pay for Skoolers, trust me.
This class sucks. The 4 exams are literally worth 80% of your grade. The homework assigned is not like exams at all. Her online lecture videos are her just reading off her notes with no explanations. Lowest exam grade is dropped so no curves. Buy Skoolers or you'll fail. I didn't want to buy it, but after failing the first two exams I had to.
If you would like a good grade in this class I would recommend buying Skoolers, your grade is mainly from the four tests. She doesn't give many practice questions for you to see if you know what your actually doing.
The fact that you need to seek external resources to "pass this class" by getting an 80% or higher says all you need to know. As far as exams go, they are more focused on arbitrarily phrased "Gotcha!" Questions than the fundamental concepts (which she doesn't teach to begin with). This class clearly is a taper out for business majors. Good luck
Holly is a sweet heart, love her. The exams are straightforward if you study, you can't just think youre going to get an A without studying. I used Skoolers for extra help, got an A on Exam 1 and the Final, got a B on Exam 2 & 3. Use her practice problems to study and actually try to understand the concepts, it really helps. TBH The HW doesn't help
I studied A LOT for the exams. I wouldn't waste your time studying hard for exam 2 because it was super difficult. She was very responsive to emails and helped me during office hours. Overall, 1000% use Skoolers and do her examples for practice. Don't waste your time studying homework.
Be prepared to study a lot for exams, they're very hard. Dr. Sudano does provide a decent amount of material to help you for the exams, don't bother studying the homework, mainly study her examples and notes she posts on canvas. You don't need skoolers but it helps. She's very friendly and will always provide help so reach out.
I failed this class last semester, retook it again this semester and almost failed again (needed a C-, ended up getting a B- after studying ridiculously hard for the final). Do consistent work over the semester, focus her practice problems for each module. Memorize the formulas (make flash cards for them). Get Skoolers if you want as well.
After barely scathing away with a C on my final exam, my experiences with Sudano were not at all pleasant. The telling matter is that even the good reviews on this page, advises you to purchase outside tutoring in order to have a better time with her exams. Sudano's exams test for a level of mastery that is not present in her resources whatsoever.
I want to start off by saying that professor Sudano is extremely nice. Especially during office hours. But her tests when compared to the notes covered in class are just lacking. You legit NEED to get Skoolers because of the level of detail that they go into in their reviews. And the HW is free points (but nothing like the tests lol).
Dr. Sudano is an amazing professor, but her class is hard. She drops your lowest unit exam, but not the final. Make sure you do well on the homework because that'll help boost your grade. Skoolers and ACE tutoring is a must. Easy to fall behind in because the concepts snowball. Tough class, but Sudano makes it at least a little enjoyable.
One of the most genius people I've ever met. She holds the 3rd highest score on the CPA in our state, she is incredibly successful. She is very humble about her intelligence, I only found out how smart she was through others. Her lectures are clear and concise, but you will have to do extra research, as most classes. Awesome woman.
Honestly I don't have much bad to say about Professor Sudano. That being said this class is the most difficult class I have taken so far in my academic career. She makes the tests as hard as humanly possible by including every common error in the answer choice. You absolutely need the skoolers. I have failed every test so far.
Do not take managerial accounting with Professor Sudano, you will fail. The exams are impossible and she is not sympathetic at all. Have to withdraw from the class, take it over the summer at your local community college.
This class is awful, take it at a community college and skip it at fsu. Every single question has 100 things you can mess up on making it impossible to pass. get skoolers if you are taking it at fsu
this class clearly is a weed out business class, and sudano doesnt make it any easier. 3 exams and your lowest gets dropped, but you must put in the work. i studied hours on end for these tests and have not passed a single one. skoolers will save your life for this class if you take it at fsu, but do yourself a favor and take it at tcc.
Exams make up the majority of points, she does drop 1 however. Online classes are expected to show up in person 4 times to take the exams (7:30 pm for me). They are overly specific, and homework assignments don't reflect the exams. Lectures are her just reading off slides, hard to engage. Didn't use schoolers but a lot of people purchase it
Homework is like free points but exams are almost impossible without skoolers. You will spend hours on hours of studying and her review sheets are nothing like the test. Exam 2 is the worst so your better off just letting that one be your drop. Final is 30% of your grade. Take in person if you can as she goes more in depth than online
I wish I dropped this class late drop because I am going to fail. Spent hours doing skoolers packets for this class only to fail every exam. None of the other material she provides is like the exam questions. Going to try and take it at community college
This is a weed out class. This professor does little to help students and skoolers is needed to pass the class. One of the hardest classes of business majors. Good luck or take this class at TCC
The tests are like the final boss of business majors. They're designed to trick you instead of actually testing if you understand the concept. Sudano makes the a-e answer choices the answer you would get if you mess up one little thing instead of numbers close to the answer. got Ds and Fs on the exams after studying for hours with skoolers.
Just finished with a A+, listen. This is a tough class, but schoolers will prepare you. You can't just study for 5 hours and expect a good grade. Do each practice quiz on skooler multiple times, same for the practice exams. Professor Sudano is a caring and kind teacher, go to her in person even if you're online. Put in the time on skooler.
Holly is a fantastic professor that introduces students to Managerial Accounting. She always knows what she is talking about and always offers help and office hours. Many students will say she is difficult, but I disagree. Holly teaches a mandatory class with very difficult concepts, so keep that in mind when selecting classes.
Holly is difficult but as nice as they come. She really cares. This is a weed out class so put in the time! Skoolers is absolutely necessary for this class, even if jsut for the extra practice. I worked my butt off and got a B+. Don't expect to pass doing nothing.
She's a sweet person & very aware of her class' difficulty. The HWs don't help but her online problems do, as they resemble what the exams look like. I can undoubtedly say this was the class I studied the most for this sem. I had Skoolers also. If you don't, an A is attainable but you will have to put in 110%. Good with responding to emails.
Sudano is a pretty good professor, but unfortunately a lot of people get stuck taking this class online. Now I did appreciate that the exams were all in person. If you did not understand much of financial, this class is a little easier, but still be prepared to study a lot.
Professor Sudano is a good person, I just wish she was as good as a professor. There's a reason nearly every review on here says that you should get Skoolers. It was much more helpful to me learning the material compared to Professor Sudano. She makes the exams incredibly hard and it seemed like every other question was meant to trick the student.
I finished with a 95 - I only used skoolers and worked my ass off repeating the practice problems. Grades you based off of 3 unit exams and 1 final, but 1 of the unit exams is dropped. She gives you a really good extra credit boost mid semester that raises you about 2 grade points (I went from a 90.7 to a 93). GET SKOOLERS THO xoxo
MUST GET SKOOLERS!! to pass this course you will have to do every problem MANY times in order to understand. Tests are very hard and you must be studying all semester long. I barely interacted with the professor but she does care and has weekly office hours to review exams. This class is doable if you put in the WORK.
I learned everything through Skoolers because it's SO much easier to understand the content compared to Holly's lectures. This class is not easy! Understanding ACG 2071 is like learning a new language. There is a lot of material to digest and you need to practice problems consistently to do well on the exams, which are hard. Buy Skoolers to pass!
She is nice, but there isn't enough practice provided by her. Basically, you must practice the problems over and over to pass. The lectures barely help because she solves problems without really explaining them. Lots of self-teaching is required.
This class is definitely one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. Harder than MAC 2233 (business calculus). Definitely NEED Skoolers. Her own lectures and notes aren't helpful. The practice problems are helpful though. I will say that she is so understanding and great at communicating with students. She's very easy to reach via email.
She teaches as you should already know the material. Exams are really hard and she doesn't make sense in any of her lectures.
This is an extremely difficult course and I needed skoolers to understand the material bc her lecutures and notes are unhelpful. She's nice but doesn't provide much practice for exams and you just have to keep praciticing problems over and over to do well on exams. As everyone says GET SKOOLERS. HW is long and doesn't help learning material
The class wasn't nearly as hard as people are making it out to be on here. I ended up only using Skoolers more as a safety net than actually studying with it. While definitely harder, it is easily possible to get an A without it. The first exam is a breeze but the 2nd and 3rd one are a bit harder. Prof Sudano is a great person, but an average prof.
If you are anything like me and struggle with the conceptual stuff, you will NEED skoolers. Skoolers is the only reason I passed this course.
Hardest class I've ever taken at FSU. It's not difficult math, but the material is so conceptually challenging for a "introduction" course. Skoolers is a must and you need to practice and study all semester long. Sudano is a nice person, but her materials are not enough to do well on exams. I'm scared that I might have to retake this course.
Extremely hard class. Literally a weed out class. Take it somewhere else.
I got a solid A in financial accounting without any skoolers or help because the professor gave practice exams. I have a C in this class and I have skoolers and study 30+ hours for every exam. This class is impossible and a weed out class. Exams are also worth 90% of your overall grade. Do yourself a favor and take it at TCC.
Kind professor that responds quickly to emails but extremely hard class. Be ready to study for hours and hours and hours and hours.
Finished with a 93. Only used Skoolers for exam review. Prof Sudano is very nice but the class gives you the bare minimum of content to study with. I see a lot of reviews saying the questions on the exam were "trying to trick you." I personally didn't see any of that and thought they were pretty straightforward. Overall, it really wasn't that hard.
SUCH A HARD CLASS. HARDER THAN ACG2021 If you need to take, make sure you eat, sleep and breathe this class for the semester. I only passed because she curved your overall grade at the end of the semester. Exam 1 was the easiest so make sure you do well on that to keep your grade up. Get 100% on hw and discussions. you'll need it. drops lowest exam
Sudano's class is huge so everything is pretty generalized. You have to put in a decent amount of effort to learn all of the material but getting an A is reasonably doable.
This class isn't as bad as others have made it out to seem. I didn't use schoolers and still managed to get an A on all the exams. Go through each completed unit outline she uploads and study from that along with the examples she posts. Make sure you know each example problem thoroughly and you should do fine.
Holly is great, but the class itself is just really difficult. What no one tells you is that the in person class has random classwork assignments that are basically attendance, worth 8% of your grade. Online uses discussions. My attendance sucked, I failed. If you don't plan on having 100% attendance, take the online class instead. GET SKOOLERS! :)
I have only taken the first exam but i felt like i needed to post here. Prof sudano made the content feel like it was gonna be easy but the test was impossible. The only reason I passed was bevcause I got the skoolers which covered things that were on the test that she did not cover. Really not a reasonable classs IMO.
Holly was great. She drops the lowest test score which really helped me out a ton. Totally recommend taking her.
It is basically just homework every week but they do not count for many points. This class is almost entirely exam based. The exams are extremely difficult and make up the majority of your grade. Her notes are not helpful in understanding the material and the homework does not match or help with the exams either. I do not recommend taking this here
Holly Sudano is a very nice professor! She is helpful. The class itself sets up students to fail. It is a weed out class and students crank out hours of studying to receive 60s.
This class is hard. It is hard for a reason. There is a lot to learn and understand, but if you just ask for help you will get it. Holly is so kind and understanding, and she is very open to helping you learn the material. There are a lot of assignments, and some big extra credit opportunities. If you're struggling, just reach out.
This class is tough. I think no matter the professor it is going to be a content heavy class. Exams were tough. I needed to use Skoolers for extra help. However, prof Sudano did everything she could to get us to where we needed to be. She answers emails quickly and thoroughly and is always willing to help. I would take her again.
While this class is tedious and has a lot of material, it's manageable. Do all of the assignments on time and get Skoolers. Start preparing for the exams in advance and you'll be fine.
Avoid at all costs. If you are not an accounting or finance major, I would 100% tell you to take this class at your local cc. Such an impossible course for no reason... Would never recommend this class to anyone.
Holly Sudano is really nice, but her class is very difficult. Exams are hard, you don't feel prepared. There are no practice questions (in the same format as the exams) and you cannot see the questions you got wrong on previous exams. GO TO CLASS! There are random attendance checks that will effect your grade. (I am typically an A student btw)
This is a hard class but if you put the work in it will pay off. The exams are pretty straight forward if you study and prepare yourself well. Don't be scared to take this class
Anyone who says this is a hard class did not put an ounce of effort in. Expectation's are very clearly outlined, lectures are great and give you everything you need for the exams + she says exactly what will be on them. She is very kind and gives great feedback. Just do the practice problems. If you could do financial this will be a breeze.
I was initially scared to take this course due to previous reviews, but as long as you stay on top of your work and do the practice problems you should be fine. Do well on the first test, she drops your lowest one of the first three. I would also suggest getting Skoolers, it helped me a bunch.
Professor Sudano's class is challenging, but manageable if you put in the work. Utilize resources like Skoolers and unstuckstudy AI alongside the textbook to ace the exams. Attend class, do the practice problems, and you'll be just fine.
She's sweet and can't change the fact that accounting is just plain boring and hard. It's manageable but you actually have to work at it. Not hard, but time consuming. Heard her online lectures suck so take it in person. Not everyone needs Skoolers, but I think it's worth it if you're someone who tends to slack/struggle at self study like myself
Super kind professor. Allowed for my test to be rescheduled when I accidentally missed it without an excuse. The tests can be hard but are very manageable. The practice examples are your most helpful resource. You don't need schoolers to do well, the material is around the same level of difficulty as financial accounting.
Definitely a hard class and requires a lot of work to understand the chapters. Holly has been very fair and the tests have been fair as well. Can be hard for some ppl to grasp, but that's not Holly's fault. She provides a lot of resources and examples before tests. Grade is really based on how much work you put in.
first exam is not that bad, second exam hardest, and third is ok. The way this class is structured is designed to make you fail; I consider myself to be good in math (got all As) and most likely will end up with a C. I put in over 20 hours of studying every week, still did bad on exams. Her practice problems are nothing like the test; get skoolers.
Structure of ACG2071 is so bad. The online lectures are not helpful, she simply reads the problems fast with little teaching on where things go& other essential components to understand to do the math. Also sent super helpful msg. on canvas when so many students emailed w/ concerns of failing to just look at syllabus study tips and talk to the TAs.
Holly is an amazing professor who truly cares about her students' success. Her lectures are clear, and practice assignments reinforce key cost accounting concepts. She doesn't trick students but ensures they understand the material to excel. By watching her lectures, completing assignments, and reading the textbook, you'll be well-prepared.
The class itself is not too difficult. It is manageable. However, I do recommend investing in Skoolers (at first, I was hesitant because of the price, but it significantly helped me prepare for exams). Her lecture videos are pretty boring and not that aligned with the test. Get Skoolers, invest your time studying, and truck through.
Ngl I didn't use Holly Sudanos notes at all, I just had Skoolers carry me. 3% overall curve, ended with an A. Exams are just like Skoolers
hard class but i got an a
Professor Sudano herself is very kind and understanding but the class is terrible. You need skoolers, in my opinion it is necessary. She adds extra points at the end of the term making it a hard class to fail. Drops lowest exam score.
Get 100% on everything non exam. I got skoolers, and it helped manage with exams, although you need to spend a lot of time on one or two. I studied 2 weeks for the final and aced it to end up with a A- since I fell behind due to exams.
The class itself wasnt bad. The review videos on are just her going through the files that are already on Canvas. There weren't any practice reviews for the exams (or really any kind of valuable review for the exam). I ended up getting skoolers and it was SO helpful for exams. Because of the simple lecture layout, it was always tempting to not go
Holly is very understanding when it comes to personal issues with a legitimate excuse. Last semester I came to her with what I had going on and she was flexible and helped me where she could. I will say the material can be hard to grasp but if you understand the examples then you will be fine. Don't procrastinate this class because it will add up!
Holly is a nice person and a great professor. However, the exams are really difficult. I wish there were more methods to practice for the exams because I would walk out of the exam thinking I did well, and then I would end up failing it... Take the class at another institution if accounting is not your strong suit.
For those reading the reviews for 2071 and letting them terrify you, dont. My advice: look at what she says that you need to know for the exams, take notes from her uploaded notes, do the practice problems on canvas and dont just memorize, you will be good. She was also sweet and understanding during the shooting. (+ a curve at the end of semester)
This is my 2nd time taking ACG2071. I chose to take it with the same professor. I failed the first time because I didn't take this course seriously. It is difficult in its nature, and Sudano makes her best effort to make sure her students are confident in the material. I highly suggest Skoolers. Sudano was compassionate after the shooting.
Skoolers is 100% worth it for this class and make sure to get it right away. The final was made optional because of the shooting, so I opted out of it and ended with a 100 in the class. There are 3 midterm exams and the lowest score gets dropped. They're very easy if you study a lot a few days leading up to them. Do not let this class scare you!
3 stars because of her compassion after shooting. Morals aside, her teaching is subpar and extremely vague. Her advanced accounting knowledge likely makes this material seem "boring" to her, which is why she never provides relatable examples or dives into specific concepts very often. Use skoolers to truly understand the language of ACG2071.
I knew this class would be a challenge online but it wasn't as bad as I expected. The lectures are long but the guided notes help and are manageable. I studied more than I ever have for the tests and managed to to do very average on them. The practice questions she does in the lecture and the additional ones are not very similar to the test.
This class was the worst I have taken at FSU so far. You receive absolutely zero feedback on the exams, so there is no way (even in office hours) to look over what you missed and improve. The test questions are wordy and look nothing like any of the class materials. Professor Sudano provides NO STUDY MATERIALS. Her class structure is abysmal.
Do not take this class with her. If I could have warned myself, I would have taken a different professor. You receive no feedback, no help, and nothing to prepare you. The class structure is impossible. Skoolers was helpful, but not enough. Also, lazy TAs who do not even let you review your own exam to understand what you missed.
Save yourself- buy Skoolers. That way, you can at least MAYBE pass. The second exam of this course made me want to change my major.
Worse than financial accounting IMO.
Professor Sudano masks her inability to properly teach by blaming students, basically saying they should have studied better. If your class requires hours of studying every single day to possibly perform at average level, you are just a bad teacher and a miserable person. Expertise in the subject does not equal the ability to teach it.
No extra credit, no test curves, no assistance. Just impossibly hard exams and useless lecture videos.
I think Holly Sudano believes that an online course just means she can sit back and kick her feet up. Office hours are no help, you are just told that you should know the material better, but "not memorized". Tests are horrible. Try Skoolers if you do not want to take this class more than once.
She was kind following the tragic events this semester, but kindness doesn't make up for her lack of teaching or aid for students. Practically no assignments other than the exams. None of the provided material on Canvas will prepare you for test questions.
Please try to get another professor if you can. This class is heavy, and if you want to properly understand the content, you need a teacher who will help you do so.
Maybe Mrs. Sudano is a better professor in person, but if you are taking the class online, it is a guaranteed uphill battle to pass.
I have tried every studying method possible and feel like none are successful in this class. The sheer volume of content and the purposely tricky question styles make her exams unbearable.
Pick another professor to succeed in the class. That's all.
i don't feel like i retained any of this class, i only remember the anxiety i experienced during each exam.
Do not even look at what she uploads to Canvas. Skoolers' exam reviews and mock exams will be most helpful.
Just a terribly rough class.
If you put in the work, you can pass sometimes.
After the FSU shooting, all finals were optional. At that point, I had a 79.2% in the class, and asked if there is any way I could do any extra credit to boost up my grade to a B. The professor not only told me the final is the only way to increase my grade, but I had to take the final in person as an online class.
There is not enough material to prepare you and your grade is basically all exam based. Get skoolers and good luck
Tough class and passed thanks to Skoolers. It's expensive but worth it because the material covered in homework and what she provides is not helpful nor prepares you enough. However, luckily, she drops your worst test out of the first three and than your final MUST count so do well in that. Material is not extremely difficult if you study enough.
The material you go over in class will not be sufficient to study/pass the exams. As others have mentioned, the lowest exam is dropped, however the final cannot be dropped. It was optional because of the campus shooting, but the professor pretty much just went by the book and would not make any additional accommodations. Should have gotten skoolers
This class was very hard and is test heavy, but is manageable with schoolers and a lot of studying. The professor was very accommodating towards the end of the semester due to the extreme circumstances. I recommend to stay on task all semester and do well on the first exam as it is the easiest and the lowest exam gets dropped.
hard class, good professor. there's literally only homework and exams which is good if you lock in but bad if you don't bc there wont be much to help boost your grade. she's very accommodating and i like how she teaches.
I've taken this class twice now, I did it online the first time and failed it. I did it again this last spring semester in person, thinking maybe she's just not good a teaching online. But it was the same in person as well. I really wish there was another professor for this and that the exams are conducted differently.
I dont know why this class was so difficult but it just was. She covers very little in class and expects us to fill in the gaps. Get Skoolers as early as you can and hope for hte best!
Took ACG2071 online. Bought skoolers and did not even open the canvas page once. Class is almost fully based on exams so if you know how to study and are a good test taker it's not as difficult as people make it sound. Don't bother using the lectures, buy skoolers save your headache and your grade.
This online ACG class was extremely difficult and the teacher did not help the students at all. The material on canvas is minimal and not helpful for studying for the exams. Also emailing the professor doesn't get you anywhere as she just replies with 'study tips'. Take this accounting class elsewhere if you can
Impossible to pass without skoolers!!!!!!!!!! 300 dollars to pass good luck!
The hws are pretty easy and can be done pretty quick, discussion boards aren't too hard either, your lowest test grade gets dropped as well
GET SKOOLERS FROM THE START. You'll need it. The first exam I studied for 2 weeks, knowing how difficult the course was. I got a 45 using the material provided by Professor Sudano. It wasn't until I got skoolers that I began passing exams with 75s, barely getting a C in the course. Do well on exams 1-3, so you don't have to take the final.
The class is hard but it is passable. If you test well you will do well in the class. Her lectures are good but are not very helpful on the homework and tests. Even if you do good on everything and show up to class, there is very little room for error. Gives an outline for tests but no study guide or practice test. Attendance is mandatory.
It's just a tough class in general. There are not a lot of ways to prepare for exams. Exams are weighed heavily, but the lowest one is dropped. I didn't need skoolers for Financial Accounting, but I had to buy it for this class to do well on exams. Without skoolers I wouldn't have passed.
Although she is very nice and clear with all her things, she just isn't good at explaining in her 4 minute long videos that are supposed to cover lots of material. I took the online class. I wish I hadn't it is probably just me, but for financial, I took online and was fine. I don't know what it is, but she is not good at preparing you for tests.
You need Skooler's to pass this course. Her lectures are just her reading monotone off a word document and I've never understood the topic after the lectures. Weekly assignments and 3 exams (lowest dropped) and a cumulative final. She copy pastes the same weekly announcements. You won't stand a chance if you don't spend $300 to pass.
This was easily the worst class I have ever taken. I did fine in financial, but her lectures are genuinely so unhelpful. If you want to do well, I would get schoolers and take the time to thoroughly learn every unit through that and go to ACE. Good luck
If you want to excel in managerial with Holly Sudano, don't open Canvas and go ahead and buy Skoolers. She genuinely does not provide you with the materials needed to succeed; I did well in the class, but that is only because of skoolers. I do not give one ounce of credit for my success to Holly and her class materials/structure.
holly if youre reading this please release exam scores
Not nearly enough canvas material. Confusing lectures and one homework assignment per chapter. Buy Skoolers and save yourself a headache.
This was the most difficult and unrewarding class ever. The notes keep concepts simple, and the lecture videos do little to prepare you for the hard exams. There are practice questions included, but they are still steps below the exam questions. If you want to pass or want a good grade without spending hundreds for Skoolers, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!
You will not pass this class unless you spend 300$ on Skoolers. I literally don't know a single person who passed without it. She gives no practice tests or study guides, and attendance in class is mandatory. Good luck!
Took financial online and got an A without skoolers. Do not even bother taking this class unless you plan on getting skoolers, she provides no guidance as to what is going to be on the tests. No practice quizzes or study guides, just lecture videos and problems that are not similar to the actual test. Most stressful semester of my life.
I took this class without using Skoolers and by the grace of God I passed. My biggest piece of advice: when she assigns a chapter, immediately read the material and do the practice. Make sure you have an understanding of everything and don't move on until you do. This class is notoriously difficult so give yourself some grace if you are struggling!
This class was so unnecessarily stressful. I've been a straight A student my whole life and still barely passed this class and I would study weeks in advance for the exams. I bought skoolers and it helped but I was still struggling. If you take this class, do it when the rest of your classes are super easy. Thankfully Sudano is really nice.
This isn't a class, you teach yourself the concepts at home and then use the classes for examples. It's one of the worst and most unintuitive class structures around. If you want to do good, you NEED to study the notes and online examples like Tony Bell's videos a week in advance. DO NOT PUT OFF STUDYING BECAUSE THE EXAMS ARE NOT EASY!
Please do yourself a favor and get Skoolers. I didn't watch a single one of her lectures and finished with an A. Sudano does reply to emails quickly and she does seem like a very sweet professor, her material and lectures just aren't enough for the exams.
DO NOT TAKE if it is not mandatory for you. Take somewhere else if possible. I have all As and barely passed. Every class is mandatory not even 1 excused. She is not a nice person and offered no help in her office hours. Does not respect her students and does not offer enough tools to succeed. I expected way better from FSU and am disappointed
The professor really doesnt know how to teach, no curve, no extra credit, her office hours are worthless she really doesn't teach very well just repeats back what you missed, she also isn't caring about ur difficulties
