I LUV MS HONEY! she is hilarious, the essays are a breeze, the tests are a breeze too as long as you READ the short stories, which are easy. She is very sweet and opinionated, really cares about her students and gives great advice. she really opens up your eyes about basically everything important, I HIGHLY recommend her, im taking her a 3rd time!

She's a great teacher. She would teach you how to write a paper properly. In class, she gives you respect for you opinion on about every topic as long as you have conviction. She cares about her students and gives great advice on careers and education. It is really worth it to take her class. It is not easy if you don't do the reading.

This was my frist online class. I have to say that I feel like it was a very successful class and Honey helped a lot. She was pretty quick about getting back to me when I sent her emails and she gave me very constructive and helpful feedback on my papers. I recommend her!

This is the kind of professor that expects you to think, and be mature in life. If you are a cry baby then don't take this class, but if you like to have challanges and a great learning experience then take her. Her work is normal for any college clase. This is college not high school, a level of maturity is required.

Pay attention to the grammar of those bad reviews and take it with a grain of salt. They probably failed her class for a reason. Professor Duprey is one of the most honest to the point professors I have come to known. I have very much respect of her teaching ethics and if you do the work like you are suppose to, then you will do just fine. I find it rather pathetic that at the college level there are people complaining about not being able to turn in late assignments and having too much work. Class was easy as long as the class has decent discussions then u never have to read mayb sparks occassionally. Never read at all got high b's low a's for exams. Honey is a great professor. She is very straight forward with what she expects from her students. The work isn't hard but you definitely need to read the material. She goes over the reading she assigns very thoroughly and tells you what you need to study for upcoming test. You do need to participate in class but overall she is an AWESOME teacher!

If you want your grade handed to you, then this is not the class for you. She is strict on MLA, and she lets the student know this. She treats her students like grown-ups, which most college students should be, by expecting them to follow instructions and not needing a babysitter. If you want to do well in this class, know MLA, it is that easy.

Her online class is not easy and the assignments aren't either. But if you plan on stepping up in your writing for reals, take her class. She does answer your questions very well but before asking look through your text since most answers are there. I learned how to be confident about my writing and i can know write long essay with no doubt. Thanks

I took this class online. She is amazing when it comes to returning emails and helping with any questions. She does not really grade your papers on the body, it seems she only cares about MLA format. There are no tests or quizzes, just 4 main papers on a subject and about 4 responses to english reading. The subject papers are research papers though

I took her ENG102 online class. She is a strict but fair teacher. The class was a pleasure. She is surprisingly nice considering all of the personal attacks by indignant students would write about her in emails sent to the whole class, including her. If you understand the English language and can utilize the MLA format there will be no problems.

I have never encountered an instructor who so genuinely cares about her students education and them as people. However, her class is not for the faint of heart, it is a college level class and she expects that each student act like adults and be accountable for themselves. Out of all my years using ratemyprofessor, I never written a review But for Duprey Smith, I will! I had her a couple semesters ago but I can remember her class clear as day. Very straight forward, required reading, quiz/discussion on the reading, some simple essays and a research paper. She made my 102 class and my other ENG & LIT classes a breeze.

This was my first online class! She is an easy teacher and very helpful. She assigns a couple of essays, one for each week. Just follow instructions on her lectures and you'll get an easy grade!

I thought she was a great professor. Grades fairly quickly and is extremely clear on what she is looking for. I took her online class this past summer (2014) and got a B in the class. I had zero interest in this class going in but had to take it. When she grades your papers she gives great feedback which you can build on.

There are only a few essays the semester in her class and she is clear with instructions. Follow instructions and you will have an a. Do the vocab and study for the tests. She doesn't lecture much. It is more about asking questions. Not much teaching just working on MLA format. If you took honors or ap courses this one will be a breeze.

Let me start off by saying Honey is definitely a professor to take in person rather than online. I LOVE her. I took 101, 102, and AmLit with her and got an A+ in all 3. She is sassy and gets upset because she wants us to succeed. But she really is kind and loving person, just pay attention to your grammar! By far my favorite professor!

I took her class in PERSON! She even admits that the online course is so hard. The first 2 weeks i was terrified to go to class because she will call you out but then i got more comfortable and realized she is very helpful. Some of these negative reviews are comical. Professor Duprey-Smith's syllabus and lectures are CRYSTAL CLEAR. She is very explicit in her expectations, but obviously some students can't meet them. IF YOU WANT AN EASY "A" THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORK FOR, THIS CLASS IS NOT FOR YOU. If you actually care about your writing, her class is invaluable.

Ms. Honey is a great teacher. I took her 101 and 102 classes. She is strict and serious about her job. She wants her students to succeed and it shows. MLA is burned in my mind because of her. Textbook is a must and the little brown handbook is essential for any class. She was comical and I loved being in her class. Don't be late to class though.

The 8 week online course is not easy. You have a relatively long paper due weekly. She is a tough grader. MLA is a must! You must work hard and can't afford to procrastinate. This is not an easy course! She responds to e-mails relatively quickly and can be helpful! Have so much respect for this teacher, would take again despite it being difficult.

The 8 week class I took was not the easiest but isn't that why everyone is here to learn? I am not a huge fan of English but I learned a lot in this class. The Professor respondeds to emails quickly and was always helpful in whatever I asked. Many peoples comments say "tough grader" but if you read the lectures and follow MLA you will do great!

She is an amazing teacher. Yes, she grades a bit tough, but she always gives plenty of chances to make students' papers better than they would have been. The class is rather enjoyable, and the feedback she gives on essays is extremely helpful. My writing has improved significantly since I started her class, and I even took two more of her classes.

This class was wonderful. We discussed multiple stories, and the experience was overall fun. If you're not one for speaking, this may not be the class for you, but you are definitely missing out. There isn't much writing, and the stories are rather easy to comprehend if you take the time to read into them.

Professor Duprey-Smith's class was an absolute delight for me. I've always been a solid English student, but her advice & teaching has further improved my writing and given me knowledge to carry on successfully in college. Prof Honey is so great and so funny. She helped me so much to learn all the things I never learned in high school. She takes the time to show you how to correct your mistakes. She's also very funny and really cares for her students. Attendance is important because she gives extra credit on days a lot of people miss.

Definitely have to have thick skin if taking this professor. She offers a lot of extra credit and the final is optional for this class. She usually ends class in an hour. The work is pretty standard for an English class. She's hilarious and I'd probably take the class again.

I took Honey's Composition 1 class and I have already signed up for her Composition 2 class. She is a great teacher who really cares about helping you advance your writing skills and making sure you are aware of the world around you. She may seem a bit harsh at times but it is only because she wants to help you. I highly recommend Professor Honey.

Overall, you need to utilize your resources (the writing center). There are about five essays that you would need to complete. She gives feedback and is great at responding to emails quickly. I would highly recommend her if you have a busy schedule and need to take this course for credit.

The professor was very specific as to the requirements of the class. Her expectations didn't change during the course. Each paper was progressively worth more as you should have learned and corrected mistakes with each paper. Follow the directions and you'll pass.

She's a tough grader but she really puts all of her heart into this job. She clearly cares for all the kids, I had an F and she worked with me to bring the grade up. There are a couple papers, and a few quizzes, but it's those bonus points for showing up that count. She's bold, funny, and honest. If you can't take bluntness, she's not for you.

I took her for summer session 1st 4-week online class. She is particular about correct MLA format but she also provides good feedback on papers. You get all of your papers back, graded, almost instantly with comments that are actually helpful. I'm not a fan of writing papers or taking English classes but I would definitely recommend her.

She also knows how to joke around and is super sarcastic. If you're whiny and can't take criticism or handle an ounce of hardwork, do not take.

She is very well known in the field of English, especially in MLA. Be sure to be there on time every class and bring your notebook and handbook. She is very strict when it comes to excuses, but she is funny at the same time. May I add very honest. If you put in as much effort as possibly can, you will pass no problem. Just be there,

She knows what she is talking about. You will need the handbook everyday and attendance is mandatory, but she tries to make the class as fun as possible. She has a very funny sense of humor as well. Majority of the grade is papers, there is a total of about 5 papers, but they aren't very hard.

Miss Honey was hands down my favorite English teacher. I took her for 101 and 102. Her essay topics are interesting and it is clear what she expects out of you. Definitely would take her again if I could. Sarah H

She is a VERY tough grader, but expects you to put sincere effort into the papers you are writing. We only had 3 papers the entire semester so you need to put time and thought into the work. Your citations and paper format are closely looked at and paper content is secondary.

I learned so much from the class. At first I thought it was going to be hard getting a good grade in the class, but as I got to know her I started to like the class more. You are going to do work and she's going to give you feedback in all of it no matter how great you think you did but that's exactly what you need. She knows what she's doing.

My experience with her was during my time in high school taking dual credit courses. I was taught what was acceptible and not acceptible in terms of writing a college paper... I.e no parenthetical statements, no contractions, etc... And due to this prior knowledge, it made her classes much easier. Grading was clear. She expects you to work for an A

I honestly loved Professor Honey, she is a hard grader, but she gives you honest feedback. Which is great because I am not a good writer. She teaches well online, and I would happily take her class again. She gives out extra credit which is great! You get to write some topics that are very interesting.

Ms. Honey knows what she wants to see in all of her students and she makes it quite clear since day 1! If you're actually paying attention and actually reading all the instructions she is looking for in every assignment- you'll have no problem in this class! Just follow instructions and it is a great class!!

Honey is the best professor I've ever had. I'm writing this my senior year of college after taking her my freshman year. If you are willing to put in the work, you will do fine in this class. On the first day of class, she laid out all her cards and stuck to them the whole semester. Treat her with respect and she will treat you with respect. 10\10

Amazing professor! I took her for Eng 101 and Eng 102, she's such a caring person once you get to know her and she's quite hilarious at times. There are few homework assignments and Essays are super important so make sure you follow her instructions. She gives great feedback and is super helpful! Take her classes :)

Me personally Professor Honey was like a sweet old caring grandma. Although she is rough at times she truly cares about her student. She always makes jokes all the time like a stand up comedian. Also those who said that she grades harshly are probably not even trying... I've always get a B in English but I still have an "A". (No shade tho..)

Honey is very strict but it's all to make sure that you're succeeding and doing what needs to be done. You're not just gonna sit and do nothing to pass, but she's hard on people because she makes sure that everyone knows the material and is learning. You'll have some interesting convos if you go in person and you better know how to format in MLA

She was a great professor, many say she grades harshly but I disagree. English 102 is an easy class if you follow the MLA format closely.

Professor Honey has a unique teaching style, but if you engage with it, the class can be rewarding. Stay on top of the work, use the textbook, and try unstuckstudy ai - it really helped me prepare for quizzes and papers.

I love honey! I think if you just follow directions and follow along with what she says, she grades pretty fairly and the class goes pretty smooth. I've taken three of her classes and she jokes a lot lol.

i know shes hard but i actually loved her. i took her class twice. she could be very strict but she also has a secret soft side.

She seems strict and mean, but she's so funny and cares about her students. While she is nit picky, it is fairly easy to get good grades in her class as long as you listen to her lectures and follow the instructions. The essays aren't that bad and her in-class assignments are pretty easy and straight forward. I loved her class!

Honey is a great teacher. I feel like the only people who would fail are the people who don't pay attention to what she's looking for. She was so sweet and caring to me.
