very funny teacher, learn lots stories.
easy test, but interesting lecture. plus, learning some oriental cultural chips. pretty cool.
a wonderful class i've ever taken at AASU. pics, music and movies, hot discussions, cool presentations, never thought a class was like that. For his "three levels of history learning", highly recommended.
easy, very helpful, gives lots of notes but theres no point in taking them. also no tests... so thats nice.
it's fair to say that he's very good teacher. I like his lectures a lot. But be careful, you don't need to study that hard to get an A, but don't miss too many of his lectures, it seems that he dislikes it. other than that, he's fine with me.
Professor Wang is a great teacher. He puts a lot of effort into his lecture. He incoporates music, pictures and articles. He has a big Chinese accent but you can understand him. He gives great prospective on life in China compared to the Western way of life. There are no tests but requires three reflection essays and one paper at the end. Take Him.
such a passionate teacher. I enjoyed his class so much.
I LOVED his class! I never missed one. He is young so he is pretty cool and knows what students are going through. He makes the class interesting. He gives some what of a study guide but you have to fill them out, and they are LONG!! but if you do the study guides and study them you should do great. I would take him for HIST 1111!
his world civ II this semester is harder than his world civ I last semester. don't why. perhaps he wants to lower the A rate. but to my surprise, his civ II is much better organized than civ I. Again, he's always full of passions as usual. a highly recommended teacher to those who really want to learn something, not just for a credit from this clas
the semester is ending. I love this teacher and his class. will take his civ I next semester.
Though his last lecture for this semester made me feel really sad (a lecture on global challeges we human beings face now), I highly recommend him to anyone interested in "world history". His image-based lecture is so powerful and you cannot fall asleep! Along with PE, this is my favorite class. By the way, he's a chinese, but you'll catch him
Best history professor I've ever had. If you take a class with him don't insult his intelligence by not doing your work.
Wang is an amazing professor who makes it extremely clear that he cares about his students. He provided an interesting and passionate look into Chinese culture. I will be taking as many classes with him as possible. One of the best history professors at Armstrong, no doubt.
I got my first "A" in college, though it's just a mid-term and finals are coming soon. But I'm sure I'll have a good grade anyway. You study, you win. That's his rule. Now I like it. Rocommended!
MR. Wang is a wonderful teacher. His lecture is clear and straight to the point. But his tests is no picnic in the park. U really have to study hard.
Great teacher even for 1111. He is entertaining, his accent is not that heavy. His tests are straight forward but not very easy.
a very entertaining teacher. you'll like him, if not, that means you are not listening.
One of the best history teachers at Armstrong. Always keeps his discussions entertaining, has a good attitude towards teaching, and is overall a great guy.
Great professor. Go to class, study, participate in discussions and you will do well. 3 exams and 1 paper. He has a passion to teach and class is never dull.
The BEST Effn' history teacher EVVVVEERRR!!! So much fun! he uses alot of pictures in his powerpoints which is great for those visual learners. At first his accent was tough to understand but as you go on through the semester your ears will adapt. I almost wanna switch majors! awesome! I will most def take him for Civ 2 and anything else he teaches
as the semester comes to an end, i really want to thank prof. wang for his entertaining and insightful presentations. somehow his words enlightened me. open your mind and open your heart. that's the spirit of the class. will take his civ II class next semester.
He cares about his students and has a passion for what he teaches. Come to class, take notes, study and you will do well in the class. 3 exams and 1 paper.
He keeps class interesting. His accent isn't too bad - it makes you pay extra attention. I thought he was saying "As far as I'm told" for most of the semester until I realized he was saying "For example" Easy A
Hard to understand but yet and still a great professor. He really loves his job and understand how his students feel! Inspiring and Comical!!!
a very interesting teacher. he always tries to make his lectures entertaining, which is highly appreciated. somehow he made me believe this history class is not merely for a "pass" but for an "enligthenment." I'll follow his next class in Civ II.
Cant speak english well.
a good teacher. many times he will encourage you to study hard and to change your attitude toward learning. I'll recommend him to the new students.
he is a nice man. anytime I emailed him to ask for assistance, he responded very promptly. three tests and one paper, a little bit hard but managable.
Can be hard to understand at times, but becomes easier to pick up. Class stays interesting with lots of picture slides and fun facts. Test study guides make studying very easy.
just took his summer world history and plan to take his other courses later. somehow he changed my world view. like the pictures he showed us and his interesting opnions. if you follow his lectures and use the study guide, it's not hard to get an A.
yes, this is a nice professor, perhaps one of the best in this school. It's really hard for you not to be influenced by his enthusiam. Many of his lectures are very fun, with tons of stories, but you'll still get his points from the intro and conclusion parts. I emailed him sometimes, and he always promptly responded with helpful answers.
Civ 1 class:Hard to understand at first, but you will adapt to it. Gives study guides for every exam(3) which are very beneficial. Expect all of it on the exam. He has a semi strict attendance policy, but a great man and great personality. Easy to talk to. There's 3 exams and 1 paper(2-4 pages).
Super easy! 3 tests and 1 paper, tests are literally your notes and the map at the beginning of each section. He has an accent but it's not to bad once you get used to listening to him! Very interesting class & not a difficult A!
A very nice prof. His powerpoint is clear and easy to follow. I appreciate very much his ideas about how and why to study history (or any other subjects) as college students--developing the way of learning and the way of thinking. Taking a history class is to learn data, methods and wisdoms.
hard to understand but you get use to it. easy A class Take it
nice teacher, interesting lectures, easy test. what else do you expect?
Wang's class is extremely easy. All you have to do is look over the notes a little bit and you should do great on the tests. As long as you don't skip class and as long as you are attentative, there should be absolutely no reason why you shouldn't make at least a B. 3 tests with study guides given and 1 paper.
Awesome Professor. He will make you laugh. Listen to him and take lots of notes, read textbook so you have an idea of what the lecture is about, this will prevent you having to refer back to the text before the test. Don't miss a class and you will do great.
such a wonderful teacher!!! prof.wang deserves all his students' respect. he's not only teaching, but educating--from him I learned not only history knowledge but how to be a student and how to be a human. highly recommended!
a very nice teacher. his lecture is very organized, focused and interesting (with some jokes thought not all of them funny). his responses to my emails was super fast and helpful. don't hesitate to ask him any questions you have.
Good teacher, but difficult to understand. He has a very thick accent. His final paper was confusing, and I had difficulty writing it. His tests are hard, only if you do not take GOOD notes in class. DO NOT just rely on what he has written in his power points. Pay attention to what he says in class. He gives 3 tests and a paper. Attendance not bad.
just finished his civ II last semester. a very good class. going to take his Civ I, but couldn't find it. why still civ II in fall?
Dr. Wang is the best history teacher @ Armstrong. He gives detailed study guides & if you have taken good notes you will have no problem passing. Three tests & a final paper. Final paper is hard but get a history tutor like I did & that will help. He is very nice & funny. Accent was a non issue for me. He is really there for his students, no doubt!
i'm taking his summer class now and it's pretty interesting. lectures are very organized. he makes me laugh nearly every class. i'm happy that i'm not wasting my summer. in his words, we should "enjoy the summer". recommended
Took his 5 week summer class. I actually looked forward to going to it. His accent wasnt a problem for me. Lectures are well organized. Attend class & take good notes. Dont just copy the powerpoints. Understand the reasons of each item listed. Believes in teaching you how to be a "qualified college student" I would definitely take him again.
TAKE HIM!!!!! Super easy....Three exams and a final paper.
Dr. Wang makes this class as easy as possible. He gives you a powerpoint to copy, a study guide for the test, and a ridiculously easy paper. He is a little hard to understand but you get used to it and he is actually really funny at times. I thought this was a great class to get this requirment out of the way! Take him.
a very nice teacher. just ask if you need help. tests are easy if you "prepare", though i know some students still failed his class. will take his civ I next year. yes, he's humorous at times.
A great class to start out college with. So easy, and it teaches you how to study. Three tests and one paper. In his tests, there is always some sort of trick he does. one time all of the answers were A on one page, B on the next, etc. One time the whole test was A, B, C, D, D, C, B, A the whole way through. So easy.
This history knows that everyone is in there because they have to be, so he makes it a learning experience in how to study. He makes it super easy. Just know the study guide and you will be fine. He is hard to understand but you can get the hang of his accent after awhile. Sense of humor as well. Recommend.
Great Professor!! Only had to do 3 test and 1 paper. The paper was super easy and it was an reflection piece over a book we read. I would def. take a class with him again
a very good teacher to start with your college, especially for those who are not history majors. will take his civ II class soon.
Really easy. Has three test and a paper. Do the study guides he gives and you will make an A on the test. Paper is over a really interesting book he assigns. As long as you turn it in your get full credit.
Instead of purposely making tests pointless and arcane, this professor tries his best to give straightforward lectures and tests. It's easy to follow him with those ppts. The best part is you can always get help from him when you are preparing for test. recommended for freshmen, non-history majors and girls. :)
He is a great teacher, a little hard to understand sometime because of his accent. His test are pretty straight forward. You need to come to class if you miss 4 classes he deducts 10 points from your final grade. Also listen carefully and take good notes.
really enjoyed his lectures this summer, pictures, stories and jokes. He said he made this summer course easier, so I'm not sure how hard the course would be in regular semester. waiting for his Civ II.
Civ2 with him was one of my favorite classes. Super easy and also interesting. Wouldn't buy the book, you only need your notes. A little hard to understand with his accent. Strongly recommend him!
currently taking his 7-week online civ I, a super-intensive course.I believe I'll get an A! so excited! this is not an easy class, quiz and writing every week, plus final paper, exams and projects. if you don't work hard and keep up with the class, so easy to fail. yeah, I made it! I guess it's much easier to take an on-campus class.
Very straightforward. Has a heavy Chinese accent, so it can be hard to understand him at times, but he uses PowerPoint and then elaborates on what he puts on the slides. Gives very comprehensive study guides for his tests and the final paper is easy.
My favorite professor at Armstrong! he makes me wish i was a history major so i could take more classes with him.
I like him a lot. three exams and a final paper. all grades are posted online so you can calculate what you'll get at final. but it seems my total won't make an A--who can tell me why his Civ I is harder than Civ II?
He seems to know what he is talking about. It's just that he cannot communicate it well. I don't think I'd take him again.
I took both civ I and II with him and liked his style--straightforward and organized. His exams are pretty fair--if you come to class and prepare before exams, you'll get better grades. Recommended.
I found this class a little difficult, but that's partially becaue history isn't my thing! He can be hard to understand at times, but overall it's simple. He's pretty strict to the syllabus and a fairly easy grader from what I could tell. I would take him again.
currently his class is the only one I'm enjoying this semester. somehow you'll be moved by his enthusiasm for teaching. like his powerpoint very much.
My advice to future students would simply be “do the work”. Expectations are fair, and I love the way the teacher sets deadlines. I really enjoy what I’m reading. Clear instructions and good feedback make this online professor one of the best I’ve had. Overall, I’m glad I took this class, and I now look at the world from a more diverse perspective.
I finished both civ I (online) and II with the prof. his online class is much harder than the campus one; or you can say, the regular class is much easier than the online course which requires so many assignments. of course, if you follow his instructions carefully and invest more time, it would be fine.
A very enjoyable class and a very patient prof. The material is not hard if you follow the guidelines, and you shouldn’t fail the course if you don’t consistently miss assignments (or plagiarize, the Professor will check).
for an online class, it is always important to read the syllabus and handouts then set your reminders on a calendar and try and “go” to class the same time each week. If you don’t understand an assignment, don’t wait email the instructor. Professor Wang asks very thought provoking questions that are challenging yet not intimidating. Great Class.
Wang's online class had a lot of assignments, but he sent regular emails to keep us all reminded, I hate history, but he made this class a breeze. If I needed another history I would definitely use him for another online course!!
If many have told you that this professor is a must-take, there must be reasons. I was lucky to be assigned to his first year class this semester and it was such a nice experience. Besides those skills I learned from him, the encouragement, inspriation and care Prof. Wang delivered always make me feel warm.
Just finished Modern China with him. I really enjoyed his class and frankly, he is the best history professor I have taken - ever! Highly recommend.
Can't say enough good things about him. Modern China was great class! My fav professor in History dept. for sure!
Other than confusing the students on what do for homework or an assignment, Professor Wang was my favorite teacher of my first semester as a freshman. He only gives 3 tests, so study. But, he gives you tips to study and write essays so he helped a lot. You can miss one day, but for every other day after that, you get one point off your final grade.
I had him last semester. Dr. Wang is probably the best history professor at Armstrong. Just show up and take notes from his PowerPoint. Only 3 tests, so make sure you study for it. Other than that I guarantee you will enjoy his class.
3 tests, no final. Textbook not required, instead you're expected to do online readings and submit a one page paper about the selected topic (usually 2 a week). Tests are pretty easy, consisted of a map and about 60-70 multiple choice questions. Tests come straight from notes.
Can't slip class, he does take attendance. Tests can be tricky. if you don't take notes well.. look for another class
just finished his summer online civ. appreciate his kindness throughout the whole semester. lots of quizzes and discussions, but if you follow him, your final grade wont be disappointing.
Be ready to take diligent notes. It's the only way to pass. No textbook and only headlines on the powerpoint, so you basically only get the information for a test from what he says. His tests are multiple choice and straight from the lecture and study guide. He really cares about his students and makes a point to get to know you. Loved it
He opens everything from the start, so if you're feeling bored then go ahead and finish everything in the first month. Then chill. Discussion and quiz every week that requires you to read carefully Seriously. He makes the questions so you cant find the answers online. Tough grader when it comes to papers, but doable. Easy A if you do everything.
This was a really fun class, it was easy to get everything done throughout the week and Dr. Wang was always accessible via e-mail and more than willing to answer any questions. It's not a hard course, you just have to pay attention to due dates.
If you talk his online class, the only thing you need to do is writing down something feels from you on the discussion then you will receive a good grade. His feedback will Help you to get the next assignment with a full credit.
I took him for my online HIST 1111 and it was amazing, i never enjoyed a class so much. He is a wonderful teacher and is willing to help you with any problems. Weekly quizzes and discussion posts, midterm project and a final paper due on last day of class. If i could i would take him again, this is an easy A.
This class is an easy A if you show up and take detailed notes. His tests are incredibly easy because he doesn't overcomplicate things. There is no textbook, there are 3 exams, and there is a short essay (1-3 paragraphs) due every week. The subject matter can be dry, but you'll probably breeze through it.
a very kind professor, homework is manageable and schedule is very clearly set up. If you follow his schedule and do the work, it's not a hard class. But never plagiarize in paper, that's his bottom line.
He's a really nice guy. Took some time to adjust to his accent. He breezes pretty quickly through his PowerPoint slides (which are useless and contains mainly pics & a few notes). If you don't take good notes from lecture, don't even bother. ONLY 3 exams and weekly reading reports. Seems like I should've taken his course online instead.
No textbook used so NEED to attend the lectures and take notes in the class. 3 Tests, 1 Reading report at the end of the semester. Test has a map that comes straight from the study guide and about 70 mcq. Tells you to remember certain things during lectures, which are sure questions. DO attend the review class just before the test, its an easy A.
Easy A class. You take notes from the textbook, take weekly quizzes and do a discussion post each week. That's literally it. By far the easiest and most enjoyable online class I've taken.
Professor Wang is one of my favorite teachers. He puts all the information on the powerpoints so if you pay attention and take good notes then youll breeze through the class with no problems. The exams arent too hard. They consist of a map and then 50-60 multiple choice questions. He likes to interact with the class and is funny !
one of the best teachers at Armstrong. inspiring throughout the whole semester. His lectures and discussions will help you understand better both the history and current situation of China. If you are a history (or political science, education, etc), shouldn't miss his upper-level courses.
Dr. Wang is an awesome professor! Take him online you won't regret it. One of the easiest classes I have taken so far at GSU.
a very organized online class. you do your work, then cross your fingers. but DO NOT CHEAT on final paper, you'll ruin all your efforts.
Professor Wang is a good professor, and his test was fairly easy if you studied. If you show up to the lectures and take good notes, you will pass the test. He tends to rush through lectures which can be annoying at times. His accent is a bit hard to understand so try and listen carefully. Otherwise, he is an easy-going guy.
Dr. Wang is one of my best Professors at Southern hands down. Moreover, thank you for everything, Dr. Wang; cheers!
Such an easy class I would def take again! The only assignments were a weekly discussion and the were always super easy. Reach out because he is a very nice person and will work with you on grades or clarity for assignments.
He is very knowledgeable and very nice. Yes; you can get an easy A in this class if you do all the assignments. I learned a lot in the course as well.
The class was easy enough, but if you are not interested in history it may be difficult to get the work done. The class had nine discussion boards, a midterm project, a midterm test, and a final paper. All of the work is an easy A as long as you complete it on time and apply a little bit of effort. Make sure you read the handouts when doing assts.
Professor Wang is one of the best professors I've had as a college student. I have attended 5 different institutions now so I think I have enough experience with all sorts of different professors to leave this review confidently. His lectures are engaging and he speaks while also interjecting humor at the right moments.
SO NICE! Lectures are to the point and involve multiple leaning styles to encourage engagement and comprehension. Zoom review before each exam with is HIGHLY recommended. At least one exam is open book. If you manage to fail this class you basically did nothing and probably deserve it.
he is THE CUTEST! he is so passionate about his work! he just lectures and attendance is a point base, so come if you don't want to loose points. he does exams online, and 1 discussion post here adn there. I would take this class again. he makes a effort to know everyones names too. we love him!
My favorite professor this semester. He knows what he is talking about so it makes class interesting. He is very lenient and there to help you out, super nice guy. Weekly discussion posts and 3 exams. Highly recommend!!
Professor Wang makes lectures engaging with humor, and the class has manageable work. Attending class and reading handouts helps get an easy A. For extra study prep, I found unstuck study and ChatGPT useful alongside the course materials.
