Can't explain the info well. Partly because his accent is so thick!
Funny guy. Accent is thick. Tests come straight from lecture so it helps to attend. Loves Big Macs. If you do bad in this class it is entirely your fault.
GO TO CLASS EVERY DAY. TAKE EXCELLENT NOTES. ONLY STUDY THE NOTES. YOU WILL GET AN A
No Comments
I'm not sure how the other people liked his class... His accent is so think i couldn't understand anything he said. I read all the chapters.. failed all the tests. I litterally could not understand 2/5 of the words that came out of his mouth.
Professor had extreme difficulty communicating to students. No concern for students either. Don't bother with the book, test (hard)questions will be obscure details like the color of the emblem on a particular company logo.
Old fashion guy, easy tests.
Easiest class I have taken here. If you don't get an A, you slacked off. DO NOT come in late. Come to class and study only notes. Do not buy book.
Hard to understand, because of his irritating accent. Doesn't care a bit about his students. Tests are easy, but get to class on time.
He will put you to sleep. Make sure you take notes though on his power points. His jokes are not funny
get to here on time....he says that comming late is a distraction, but so is his nagging about it for 15 minutes.
Don't be late. Don't buy book- just take down the powerpoint notes. Gives lots of extra credit. Nice guy. Cares a lot about his students.
Yes, be to class on time and don't go to the bathroom during class! He is a straight shooter and he gives you all you need to make an A in the course. I highly recommend him!
belabors the point sometimes. somewhat boring lectures. very intellegent teacher though, good guy, treats his students with respect. thick-ish accent, but understandable. necessary evil class, but the material is more interesting than say, cornerstone
A good teacher. The subject though is very boring. Talks about McDonalds and diarreha. Do his extra credit assignments and you should do good in there
Dont buy the book!!! He tests you off his notes given in class. Reminds me of Mr. Miyagi from the Karate Kid. Easy Class and I recommend Park!
so adorably funny...mr miyagi from karate kid. no need for book, tests straight off notes. he gives extra credit also
This class is not necessary. It is required though and you must suffer through the semester. Mr. Myagi ERRR Prof. Park seems very competent. Don't be late to class at all as he will call you out in front of 400+ students. GEB3356 shouldn't be required.
Just get his tests. And go to class for extra credit. Should not be that hard. Very boring
Don't come to class late. Especially the first day. Kind of difficult to understand. Tests are easy. Do all the extra credit. Overall easy A.
Park is a great instructor. Tests are based 100% on lecture notes, so don't bother buying the book. Don't be late to class. He also offers extra credit.
Easy, entertaining instructor. Gives lots of extra credit to help you boost your grade. Follow his rules, and you will have a great time in his class.
Easy class, no need to buy the book. If you know people, copies of the tests float around. Tests come right off of powerpoint slides. Knows his material, but is strict about being late. He will tell you to "Have a sit!" Gives Extra Credit f
Don't be late for class! If you go to all his lectures or get the notes from someone and have all the notes you will do good. Interesting lectures and funny at times but also very boring like any lecture. You won't need book also.
he is the best teacher i ever had. although he has a accent but it wont be a problem. dont buy book in his class. just read his slides and you will get easy A.
one of the best teachers at UCF
easy A. Dont buy the book. He's very nice and knows his stuff. good class
GO TO CLASS!!! The class is easy as long as you go b.c its based on his lectures- don't buy the book and don't be late- ever.
Don't buy the book--if you go to class and take notes, you'll do fine on the tests. Hard to understand sometimes but you get used to it. Be on time or he will embarrass you!! :)
I was one correct answer away from an A, and he gave me a B. I attended class all semester, and feel as though I deserve some sort of break. I feel that grading should not be so rigid, and class attendance/preparation should also be considered.
Easiest class I've ever taken in my life. What else can I say?
Don't buy the book. All tests are from his notes. Study the notes and you will be fine. Don't wait till last minute to study. There is a lot of material for each exam.
Class is a joke - until the last two weeks there is nothing that even qualifies as 3000 level material. Take the advice given previously and don't buy the book. Oh - and attend class to recieve some healthy doses of extra credit.
Treats students like Kindergartners in class. Can't be late or leave class, even to use the restroom, without being embarassed in front of the entire class. Tests are directly from notes, but there is a lot of material. Attend class for lots of ex. credit
There are copies of his tests are everywhere. He knows it but still the material is the same and he asks the same questions. Great teacher.
tests are everywhere, 80% of the questions are the SAME. don't buy the book, just take notes. do not be late to class, he will call you out in front of 500 students. very strict make up test policy. overall easy, take him & get tests that are floating.
This is an extremely easy class. However, class attendance is crucial if you want to do well. Just make sure to show up and take good notes. Dr. Park will emphasize the important points. He also gives several small assignments for extra credit.
Dr. Park is great! Very easy class, dont buy the book. If you plan on working over seas this class is must.
Hilarious little Asian guy. It's impossible to understand half of what he says but just print out his slides and go to class to fill in the blanks. His tests cover a lot of material so study early! Needs to chill out over the timeliness deal...
This is a very very very good teacher!!!! You can get an A just by BEING a student. I mean, do some study, attend class, and take some notes. These are basic STUDENT requirements. As long as you can meet all these, go to his class!! Great teacher.
WTF? I mean, this guy is really knowledgeable in his subject, but you can't understand anything he says. Goes off on tangents and tells tons of stories that don't really help, considering tests are off lecture slides. Have to go to class to get notes, tho. Book not required. Aaargh!
Can't understand a word he says. Just go to class fill in the slides and your set for the tests. He changed the tests, so you cant just study the copies of the tests anymore. But they are very similar. Also Don't be late! He is very anal about people being late. Tests are in test lab.
Tests are harder now because he changed them, but just go to class, don't be late, pay attention and take good notes. Study everything in your notes for the tests. I've learned a lot from his class. I recommend him
he speaka no english. impossible to know what to study for tests. went to his office for help and he was such an ass, i wanted to spit in his face!
Dr. Park is a very intelligent individual who is knowledgeable in his subject. His tests are quite easy if you memorize the notes and take good notes. People who fail his class depend on the old tests which have been changed. People, please put forth some effort instead of complaining about Park.
Korean-Brainwashed!Accent!Changed tests,they're noteasy any more.Notfair,embarrases&kicks out if youare late;if you are a pretty girl,he'll smile&let you in,but if you'renot aspretty ora guy-forget about it!Last time got mad,refused toteach,canceled class!Talks with attitude about countries,unprofes
Don't buy book. Don't miss and class and take awesome notes from class. Study every aspect of the powerpoints and an A is possible. Also, extra credit is given once in a while for attendence which really helps out.
BIG MAC, penalty box, and "depweciate". Go to class. Don't buy book. Take thurough notes and study them to a tee. Go to class, get extra credit quizzes. Tests are challenging, if notes are not used. Avoid weirdos in front of class.
You will recieve no help in class. You take a test, get a grade, and thats it. You do not know what you missed. Attendance rules are wack. If you cant be there every day 15 mins early and stay the whole time take someone else. Piece
No longer using old tests. Don't buy the book, go to class EVERY DAY, take excellent notes, and you will be fine. Study the notes inside and out, as the tests are completely based off of them. Great teacher personality, and a funny guy.
Do not buy the book. Go to class, take good notes, read them before the exam and you'll get an A. He is a nice teacher. Gives a lot of extra credit. Very boring class, but take him !
He does have a heavy accent but not so bad that you can't understand him. He gives extra credit. All you have to do is attend all the classes and study the notes and you will do well. All that he asks is that your respect him and not come late to class. He is always available to talk and help you out
Very intelligent and funny. Tests are based directly from the notes. It's VERY important to go to lectures. If you take good notes and study like you're SUPPOSED TO DO anyway, the class is a breeze. If you plan on skipping lecture and depend on old tests, then the class can be very hard to pass.
New tests are MUCH harder than before. Dont bother asking for help out of class, he will make you feel stupid. Yes tests are based off notes but w/ 17 pgs of notes, thats not really helpful. Extra credit is good, but he fails to define whats important & whats not. Attendance is easy: dont be an ass
Go to class to get the extra points, they will help you out a lot. I could have gotten an A if I went to class and got the extra pts. Not a hard class, just study the slides and you'll be fine.
Old tests a floating around, however they are not as helpful as they used to be. The grading is somewhat rough - only three tests at 100 pts a piece (if you get a 70 or lower on one test that eradicates the chance for an A). He does give extra credit though.
He's hard to understand. His old test are no help, he has almost completely redone his test. They come straight from class notes. Don't buy book. Test are kinda difficult.
Dr. Park is a great man. Most people will not like him because his tests are difficult, but he truly wants to help and know his students. Don't be late for class, but get to know him he is willing to help you out!
Park is a very great person in general. His test are very tricky, but managable. He really does care about the students success in his class, but you have to put the effort. Do not show up late..It disrespects him and the students..
Very brilliant and hilarious, but watch out for his strict rules. Don't come to class more than 5 minutes late or you'll be seated in the "penalty box" in the back of the class and you'll lose points. Don't think about leaving early either. Book is optional.
his tests are hard and if you think you got a good grade you probably didnt. I dont knowm why but answers are tricky and it confuses you. BAD BAD teacher
He is NOT a bad teacher. If you go to class and take notes you'll do fine on the test. His class is fun and he is always wiling to help. He is not a hard teacher, you are in college now. You can't expect to still have tests that don't at least make you think a little... I'm glad I took him.
Best instructor I've had at UCF so far!!! His class is very interesting and he tells a lot of funny stories. The best part of the class is when he covers cultural differences. He's an instructor you'll either love or hate, no in between.
He is so funny! He is the spitting image of the puppet version of Kim Jung Il (or whatever his name is) in Team America, lol. Has good stories and gives lots of extra credit. However, you have to go to class to get the notes, and he doesnt require a book.
can be pretty difficult to understand when speaking. go to class for the extra credit, you will need it when you fail the tests (pretty tricky and difficult). don't be late, he will riducule and humiliate you in the beginning, but towards the end of the semester he just looks at you with annoyance.
I recommend trying to take another teacher. I now see that there is one other available. Language barrier is bad. Sometimes his stories are funny but his strict attendance policy is anything but a joke.
VERY GOOD teacher. I learned a lot from him. Would definitely take him again. But you HAVE to come to class and understand everything. He is not hard if you study and take good notes.
Knowledgable professor, wants you to learn material not just pass you with easy A. 3 test.LISTEN: dont buy book, go to class, take good notes, and STUDY them! You WILL get any EASY A - trust me. If you still arent doing well be comforted that he gives about 20 EC pts during class. Excellent professo
Dr. Park wants you to learn. He provides everything you need to pass the tests if you go to class. Don't buy the book. Print notetaking guide from his website. Study the notes. His accent is only a problem if you don't pay attention. Strict late policy, so don't be late to class.
Dr. Park is the man to take if you actually want to learn something. He has an extensive background in the International Business environment. His class is interesting and fun. If you are willing to go to class on time and study for the exams, an A is easy.
Worse professor I have ever had, Doesnt speek clear english and sure as hell doesnt write it. His tests are the worst. Its not even english. Powerpoint slides look like a 5 year old wrote them. AVOID!!!
If you think Dr.Park is hard you probably are in the wrong major. If you are really interested in business this class should be an easy A
Dr. Park is one of the best instructors at UCF. He doesn't use the book as a crutch, and he conveys the information very effectively. Don't expect an easy A without working for it though. Missing even ONE class can be detrimental. If he taught another class I needed, I would defenately take it!
Hard to understand... Went psycho on a student for comming in late and ended up canceling class because he spazzed out. Try to take someone else
The tests are pretty difficult and reflect his less than perfect english with mistakes and conceptual errors; makes it hard to understand during test taking. However, in class he is the best teacher ever...great extra credit and makes the class extremely interesting...you will learn a lot!
not THAT bad of a class if you can procure a study guide from someone from another semester. his english is horrific and it effects how he teaches..ie: i lost interest quickly. tests are very difficult if you dont understand his lingo and backwards way of teaching.
Tests are difficult, alot of material is covered. He is foreign but i don't think his accent was impossible to understand. Lectures were necessary to get the information and randomly gave extra credit which helps alot. Wants to teach you the material.
the test are kind of hard but if you study the class notes you should be able to get an "A". you have to go to class because you need to get the class notes and plus he gives extra credit in class. he seems very strict at first (especially being tardy) but he's really not that bad
Tests cover a lot of material, but take good notes and study and you'll do fine.
An idiot! He makes up this stupid rule about coming into class more then 3 minutes or so late. Stops the whole class to make a big deal out of late comer and does it alllll semester and thats all he talks about. hard tests, basically a powerpoint slide class.
Go to class, get the bonus points, take all the notes... do this and the least you can get is a B
Prof. Park is super funny, has interesting stories and examples. Come to class on time, take notes (read them over a few times everyday) and thats all you need to do to get an A. DONT BUY THE BOOK! its optional and for a reason. Please don't let the other ratings cheat you out of taking an awesome class.
This class was easy in Summer A. A lot of notes to remember but if your good at memorizing you'll do fine. He gives a lot of extra credit so go to class. Very interesting stories and he's funny. I enjoyed the class very much.
This class is cake...if you go to class and "make good notes". Plenty of extra credit. If you don't do well you're either lazy or stupid.
Dr. Park is awesome. I wish all teachers were like him. He seems strict at first but hes really not bad. He is funny and has interesting stories. To do well, all you need to do is print out his slides, attend every class, and take detailed notes. Do not buy the book, you won't need it.
Can't Speek English! Stay Away
Hard to understand and very strict, but also very easy. You do not need the book; he even tells you this on the first day. The tests are exactly from the slides:EXACTLY!
Park is not likable because he does things like wasting classtime to mock students who walk into class late. His lectures and tests are straightforward so you can do well.
Tests are not the easiest, but study the slides really, really well and you should be fine. He tells some really funny stories and says some crazy things, but it is annoying how he stops class to point out that someone is late. Him making a point of it is way more distracting then the person coming in, but apparently he still doesn't get that.
Horrible. Can't understand the way he talks. Grammar on tests is incorrect and confusing. Wastes time yelling at late students. Gives pop quizzes on Jewish high holidays and doesn't care that those who celebrate aren't supposed to attend class.
His english is not THAT bad. He is understandable. Tests are straight from the ppt slides.
Dr.Park is very strict, but tests are not that hard. You MUST go to all classes & cannot be late, otherwise already earned quiz points was be taken away. He is a good teacher, but a little difficult to understand. His antics over late arriving students are funny, yet distracting & overly emphasized. Professor is definitely on a big power trip.
as a business major, this was the worst class. It was very boring, and the tests were hard
This class is very easy. He gave 19 points of extra credit in the form of quizzes, movie reviews, and for just showing up to class on dreary days. His tests aren't that bad. It's not mandatory to buy the book, so I tape recorded the lectures, but if you are an excellent note taker, you'll do fine. Don't be late and don't leave during class!
Great professor except for his strict attendance policy. Also, he tells you first class that you do not need to buy the book. EVERY test is entirely based off his class notes so go to EVERY SINGLE lecture. Tests aren't too bad if you studied hard for them. Material is interesting as well and tries to make it fun to learn. came out w/ a B
This was class was so easy, he gave us 19 ec points for random thins like bad weather. When he talks about culture he has some funny stories. You don't need the book!
He is a great teacher. When ever you have a question, he will be there to answer. His test is based on his lectures, so you need to go to each one of them. I received an A without any problem.
Class is ok if you study for his test, probably the most boring class i ever took though, Test are not that easy but he gives a lot of extra credit. MUST go to every class b/c the test are off his lectures. i must worn you though VERY VERY BORING.
His class was easy. if you attend all the lecutres, and are on time, then you will have no problems.
His class very interesting, sometimes funny if he talk about culture. He gave you some extra point. the test VERY VERY VERY HARD,He also REALLY STRICT with grade NO ROUND UP!!so if U got 68 is D,It really sucks!!!!
Alright. You really need to study for these exams. They get pretty in detail with all the lists that he gives you. The class is pretty challenging but he does give you the opportunity to get EXTRA CREDIT that will definitely save your A S S. Go to lcass and take good notes and you should be able to pull off at least a B.
Pretty good teacher, you must go to class. HOWEVER, make sureyou don't get injured or miss an exam for any reason. I BROKE MY SKULL and he refused to allow incomplete to allow me to take Finl exam after healing. JERK.
Really enjoyed his class, he is funny and the tests come right out of the notes
Very funny man! He makes class interesting and enjoyable! The tests are passable if you study and take notes. Gives lots of extra "point". Those helped a lot! Just don't be late...he sent a guy crying out of his class on the first day! Very strict on his late policy. He actually docks points if you are late!
Tests are EXACTLY like the powerpoint slides. You don't need the book at all, just study the slides. He gives extra points for being in class which help. Just make sure not to be late or he goes crazy at you and takes points away.
Let me start off by saying-he's an a**.At first I felt that though his accent was hard to understand, it didn't mean he couldn't be a great professor-well I was WRONG!He made jokes and whatnot but in the long wrong when I got my final grade all I needed was less than a point to make a B-he screwed me over and said I was "selfish" to ask for that B.
Great Professor! He's funny, gives you a lot of extra credit points, and tests are right from his powerpoint slides. you don't need to buy the textbook. i didn't even open it once during the semester. Just make sure you go to class, memorize his notes and you can end up with an A!
Hard tests! NO extra credit. Easy notes though, does a pretty good job of teaching the material, but the tests are still tough. Has an accent, so makes it a little hard to understand, but not terrible. He has the most ridiculous rules about tardiness! and over exagerates about it too much!,but other than that he's an OK teacher.
He's a funny guy and a decent teacher. His tests aren't that tough. They are str8 from his notes and you don't need the book. His antics whenever someone was late does get annoying and usually is a bigger distraction that the late commer themselves. Go to class (get extra credit), study for the test and you should get at least a B.
Class is boring, but tests come straight from his notes. Tests aren't too hard though. I studied like 2 hrs before and managed to get a B in the class. Go to class....gives LOTS of extra credit. Im sure if you go to class, take decent notes, and study like 2 days before, easy A.
He is a great professor. I took him in summer and got an A. All those people who say he is hard, just arent studying. If I can get an A with such a fast paced class in summer, regular session should be easy. He is straightforward and explains concepts really well. Be on time... haha
Class wasn't hard at all...plus he gives alot of extra credit. LOVED his late policy...it was hilarious. Just go to class, take notes, and tests are straight from them. No need to buy the book. A little hard to understand at times, but he's a pretty funny guy.
NICE, FUNNY Man. 1. DON'T COME LATE & 2. STUDY HIS NOTES & Study guides (IN DEPTH) - IT'S THAT SIMPLE!!!
Very hard to understand (thick Korean accent). Don't come to class late at all!! Tests come straight from his slides in class, study and you can easily get a B. Must go to class to pass. Class is interesting but boring.
Dont buy the textbook. Class is super easy if you just go and dont be late. His accent is not that difficult to understand as some people like to blame that as the reason they dont pass. Test comes straight from the notes so take good ones.
Very easy class. He tells you on the first day not to buy the book, because his notes are everything you need.
Dr. Park is so awsome! He has a good sense of humor, but very strict on being on time. Other than that, he's so easy on everything. He teaches us a lot about the today business world. His class wont put you into sleep. Just need to go to class, and take notes, and review your notes few hours before your test. You will get an EASY A. highly recomman
He's a good guy. Easy class. Recommanded
Cannot understand a word he says and you can't be late for class or you get points taken away...Don't take him if you don't have to!!
To the guy below this comments: His accent is so easy to understand, if you cant understand, I can tell you are mentally challenge. To all: this is your only chance to get an A with a little effort and still be able to learn something. If you dont take Dr. Park, god bless you with whoever you go with.
don't be late, or you'll lose pts.Park is nice, and sitting through his lectures aren't bad (he is funny has jokes). You don't need to buy the book, and he will tell you this. Just go to class & take notes. It pretty mch a straight forward lecture course. This is a cake, just study your notes 3 hrs before the exam & you'll do fine.Exams are on webct.
good news: this class is the easiest class in the world and you dont have to buy a text book. bad news: this class is so boring and you have to go to every class b/c the exams are straight from the notes and he also gives ALOT of in class extra credit.
He never uses the text book. If you go to class and copy his power point slides, you should be set. Just study from that. He has this late rule where he says he'll knock off points, but he doesn't do it. He will definitely embarass you, though, if you are late.
If you go to class, you should do well. DON'T be late he will call you out in front of the entire lecture hall (yes, individually). He is a little hard to understand and lectures are boring, but if you take notes, you have no excuse to whine about not doing well when all you've done is skip.
INT BUS. was not my thing. I went into this class looking to learn something and you learn a damn lot. Just make sure you are on time to class, take notes and study the notes, otherwise you will not pass. He tends to act strict and serious but he has to,to make sure ppl attend class and do well. He is the nicest person though ! Extremely aweomse
Hoon Park = Mr. Miagi of UCF. Demands discipline and respect from his students, but reciprocates in kind. Holds himself to the same punctuality standards he holds students to. TONS of real-world experience and full of colorful anecdotes. No textbook required; some extra credit available. Gives study guides for exams.
If you go to class, listen to the lectures and take notes, his tests are no problem. I had a lot to do this semester and the efficiency of this classed helped enormously. Your grade will be directly related to how many lectures you attend and take notes.
I have a 3.4 and I have never failed or have had to retake a class, this will be a first. This is without a doubt the worst teacher I have ever had. People say if you attend class, take notes, and study them you should be fine? Doesn't always work. I did not miss one day of class, I took notes, and I did every extra credit assignment and got a D.
Hoon class is passable with the extra credit he gives you. Test are def. hard.
The people that are complaining about his tardy policy and difficulty of the course obviously are not ready for college. Park's test was so easy that all you got to do is go to class, write down the words coming out of his mouth and remember it for the test. That alone will score you a 98%. If you can't go to class and pass the class you are lazy.
This class is not bad. You need to go to class to take notes and don't be late. You need to make sure you know the study guide from top to buttom and you will get an A.
His exams aren't SUPER easy, but they aren't hard (as long as you do your part). Although he is very strict he is also very nice. He doesn't give grades away, you earn them. Go to class, take notes and study a lot and you should do fine.
With his accent, it was a little hard to understand what he was saying at times; however, the class was interesting and he is very knowledgeable. Attend class and complete the study guide as the tests are straight from the guide. The textbook is not needed (I ended up with an "A" with the study guides alone).
Hoon is good at what he does, but in terms of teaching it, hes very hard to understand. The test average on our 1st 2 (there are 3) tests was a 54% and then a 52%. He left the class 1 week before finals. We got some new teacher who changed around the grading scale after she noticed 80% of the class was failing. Hes hard but not impossible.
EASY PROFESSOR! Just read the slides and you'll get an A. He gives lots of extra credit, which helps most people. In the beginning he is hard to understand, but by a week or two in, you get the hang of his accent. Plus there is no need to buy the book, since he says that on the first day. But remember this is"not a flea market," so don't be late.
He is not bad or horrible. I had no problem understanding him in lectures. He may have strict rules, but he has to with so many students otherwise he will be taken advantage. His exams are not hard, and you don't need a book! If he were to teach another class I would take hime again. Take notes, study the slides and get an A :). He really isn't bad
Not a bad guy.
He is very strict but very knowledgeable, too. You will hate him if you are lazy. Don't be late to his class. You will be embarrassed.
This is an eye opening class and he is awesome. He has lots of real world experiences to share with you. If you are serious about international business, you will love him. Don't be late to his class.
I had him before for my undergraduate study. He is one of the best teacher I've ever had at UCF. But you need to work really hard for graduate class because the way you are tested would be very different from that of undergraduate.
I took this class in 2004 and all the tests were floating around. Don't bother going. Just study the old tests that EVERYONE has and you will get an A.
Extremely EASY class. Just go to class and copy the powerpoint slides. Exam questions are exactly the same as the notes. Easy "A"
horrible class not help one bit very hard to understand
Oh my GD. Can you say BORING!!!!
Incomprensible and increadibly boring. Watching the class videos was like torture.
Gives note taking guides so you only have to fill in blanks. Teaching style is lecture with 2 exams and one research paper (I don't think he gives the paper to summer class). Tests require a LOT of memorization, so you need to allow lots of time to study, and you should study week by week. If you do that, then it's not too bad (except for the paper
Very interesting class, straight forward, clear, no tricks. Summer Term - two exams only, no paper. No need to study ahead of time. One weekend enough. Gave bonus question for extra points. 35 multiple choice questions, 6 essay questions. Fairly easy class.
Horrible horrible horrible. It blows my mind that UCF hires teachers that don't even "teach". He just sits up there and reads off a power-point slide-show (that is conveniently provided on the internet for us to view at home) word for word and then tests us on it. Let me ask you THIS, Park: WHY ARE YOU HERE; Just a warm body? Easy class, though.
Dr. Park is a straight forward teacher. He wrote the book for this class. His lectures are to the point. I really appreciate this style of teaching as well as how the book doesn't have a lot of filler stories to weed through to get to the real information.
I disagree that Dr. Park is a boring teacher. I think he was very interesting and he had a lot of personal experiences to share that helped reinforce the material. Writing the book was a plus because it was very to the point. He gave a lot of extra credit so there was no reason not to do well. Great professor.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. HE IS GARBAGE! YOU CANT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING COMING OUT OF HIS MOUTH AND WASTES TIME TELLING YOU ABOUT HIS PAST EXPERIENCES. HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS STUDENTS. IF YOU ASK HIM FOR HELP, HE WILL END UP INSULTING YOU!! Should not be allowed to teach! Has ruined certain aspects and opportunities of my college career!
The class is pretty straight forward with 3 test. The online quizzes are extra credit that can lift you like a whole letter grade. His book is very clear cut and CHEAP! My only problem with him is that he beats the video stream mic like he's mimicking an 808.
I was ready to drop this class after the first time I watched it due to boredom, but thankfully I did not because it was surprisingly the most interesting class I took. Very clear and calm, and absolutely no reason to not get an A in this class. 25 points extra credit. Great Prof
Class is very easy to pass IF YOU READ THE BOOK, chapters are very short and clear, easy to understand. Yes, he is a little boring while he talks, but he's got a great experience in life. My respect to him. You can skip coming to classes and you will still pass the course with a very good grade only if you read the textbook, that he wrote himself.
If you are using Tegrity Lecture capture, speed it up to 1.25X speed and he'll be talking at a normal pace! =)
I can't believe people are saying negative things about him. DON'T WATCH THE LECTURES! Not necessary I never watched 1 and got an A. Take him in the summer to avoid the term paper. READ THE BOOK and take the extra credit quizzes you will see those same questions on the exam. Very easy.
Sit in the first couple rows! He is hard to hear. Surprisingly, this class was a lot of fun. Although he was monotone, his lectures were extremely interesting and full of information. Tests are draw from lectures mainly, and some from quizzes. Book is not required. Take him if you can.
TERRIBLE!! take someone else. he will ruin your love of anything that has to do with international business. boring lecture. EXTREMELY SPECIFIC TEST QUESTIONS...EXTREMELY.
The teacher is very hard to understand. The questions on his study guide and exams are not very clear. I had to do alot of work studying and just barely ended up with an A. I wouldn't recommend this teacher. I love international business, but he makes it so much harder then it needs to be.
Professor is alright. Very quiet and chilled. You will need the book to clarify the study guides if you don't go to class. The reading is easy to understand. I only watched the first lecture and did everything else with the book and powerpoint notes. Do all the quizzes, they are extra credit and you will be fine.
Hard to believe anyone thought this class was hard! I hope those people do not complete their degrees because they will dumb down the rest of us in the workplace. OPTIONAL QUIZZES equate to an 8 point curve on every test! I ended up with 119% in the class. All I did was watch the lectures on double speed and answer his study guides. A no problem!!
I agree with the last post i end up with a final grade of 108%. He is a great teacher and he is very well spoken person. He is very clear on what you should study for his tests. Take him if you can :)
I have no idea why some people have said the class is hard or he is difficult to understand. I would watch his lectures at double speed and take notes. I thought his lectures were pretty interesting. Do the quizzes, then watch lectures OR read the book if you prefer and you WILL get an A. I got a 104 in this class from just watching lectures.
Never watched a lecture. Just do th study guide using the textbook before each exam and you'll be good to go. 3 exams, 25 extra credit points. Overall easy. Got an A.
I got an A. If you watch the lectures and read the book, you'll do fine. There are 3 test and 10 extra credit quizzes. The book is exactly like the lectures, so you may get away w/o buying it. I taking notes and reviewing them periodically, so you have the information memorized.
Tough class, take notes and fill study guide he gives before each test to study. Good amount of material to study though, never used book just notes. Be sure to do all extra credit quizzes (small 5 question quiz) to ensure a good grade.
Most boring professor I have had by far! Which is upsetting because I love business. His accent is rough, ridiculously monotone, I could not break through it to retain anything he said. Good for an easy grade, stay away if you actually enjoy business.
I recommend watching the lectures & taking notes. I did really well on the exam when I watched the lectures and just studied my notes, rather than filling out his study guides. His test questions also go in order of when he taught them. So if you study/memorize the notes in order, the test will be easier. Only 3 tests & 25 points of extra credit.
One of the best professor I ever had. His lections are clear and very easy to understand. I never opened my book and got an A in his class. His tests are reasonable and not creazy at all. I highly recomend to take this class with professor Park, hi is grate!!!
His material is just awful. And it's literally so difficult to retain 6 chapters of information for a test with no aide of an index card unlike my other professors who allow that for even a couple of chapters of information. And with there only being a few exams that determine your grade, you should definitely keep your course load light.
By far the worst Professor His test reflect the complete opposite of his lectures. The book is clearly written with his dialect. Even with quizzlet and the study guide you cant pass his test and he only uses 3 test to calculate your grade. I can handle boring but not rediculas and impossible to learn from.
Worst professor I think I've ever had. Not only difficult to understand, but hard to sit through lectures. Only grades you on 3 exams that are irrelevant to his lectures. DON'T TAKE HIS COURSE! I regret every minute of this stress.
Disregard any1 saying 3375 is hard. Theyre mostly transfer students unfamiliar with exam preparation. LECTURES ARE THE EXAMS, TRUST ME. TEXTBOOK UNNECCESARY. Exams are exactly like given Study Guides, and in the same order too. Theres no reason you cant get over 100 in the class; given 24 EC pts thru optional quizzes. Very little effort for an A
This professor is not as bad as people say. He is straight to the point. Three exams and a ton of extra credit. All you need is to study the powerpoints for an A.
I read comments about him before and I got the idea that this course will be extremely easy...well many people failed this course. He writes his own book and gives you the topics to study for each exam, be sure to look at the topic and KNOW everything about that topic. When he lectures he tells you exactly what is on the book.
Everyone who writes easy or they got an A are either trolling and want u to fail like they did or they're autistic. I'm just sayin....take sweo
Some students are going to have a rude awakening when they take courses that are actually difficult-- like Finance. He is very clear what he expects from his students. Everything in the note taking guide is exactly what you will see on the exam, no surprises whatsoever. Do not buy the textbook, just watch the lectures and take notes. Got an easy A.
Avoid at all costs. Could not even understand him during lectures and his book that HE wrote is written poorly. Terrible exams. Only three, no drops.
He is a tough professor but if you are willing to work you can achieve an A. Watch his lectures online at 1.5x speed to overcome his accent and take explicit notes on his slides. I recommend buying his book and constantly going over the review questions after each chapter. He isn't as bad as other comments make him seem.
Lol @ those who thought this class was hard. They probably won't graduate. This will be one of your few easy classes towards your degree. He gives you a study guide, and the exams are in the same order as the guide. You can even google quizlet for filled out study guides. He gives you 24 ec pts. If you think this is hard.. GL with the real classes!
