i loved her, she has got good humor, very helpful, knows her ****. you would be dumb if you dont take her.
She is a very easy teacher, she should give us some more time to study for tests. It seems like there are tests every week!
I have never disliked a teacher before in my life, but Dewlin would have to be the worst teacher ever in personal opinion.
She cares more about herself than her students. She needs to realise that she is teaching at a community college and not at some upscale university.
Although her class is easy, she is a lazy instructor. If you can choose, I would recommend you not to take her class.
I am not a very savvy math person, but the way Dewlin conducts her class, I am making an A on every test, and I even started two weeks late during a summer program! She gives study guides for the tests that are exactly like the tests she gives. She's awesome! And she's very nice and approachable.
She is a great teacher! Extremely helpful and is very easy to talk to.

Ms. Dewlen is a great professor. She never uses profanity, which is great to me! She expects a lot of her students, but she is organized and lets you know exactly what she expects. She is always available to help her students. She does not put up with a disrespectful or disruptive class.She was so good, I took two of her classes.
I took her intermediate class that was "interactive" (totally computer class). Anyway, she really had no involvment seeing as we taught ourselves, but she did give us study guides that often had problems from the test on them.
Her class is very easy, but she is very lazy. She would spent several ten minutes on talking stuff that is not relate to the class.

she is a super nice teacher and explains everything great /just ask her questions and she will help you with anything! if you have trouble with math she is a good teacher to take
I took her class even though everyone I spoke to advised against it...I should have listened to everyone...not only was she rude to the students she made nasty comments and was never helpful.
She's very nice and humorous. I enjoy her class. She's lenient when it comes to our work, but make sure you do everything when it's assigned anyway because the class seems to go faster towards the middle of the semster and it might be hard to catch up on all of it.
Well its a summer session and she jams everything in a short amount of time, does not explain things well and can be lazy. She has a good sense of humor though.
Proffesor H. Dewlin needs to slow down to break-up the problem. It is understandble that the deadline must be meet, but what about meeting the need of all the students in-term of learning?
She tends to pace her teaching with the faster learners. She is nice, but when asked a question, she seems to be veiling her impatience at times. It is evident to me that she doesn't actually care if I pass. This is *College Prep* Algebra and she should care....many people's futures are hanging on this one class. She needs to remember that.
dewlen is a horrible teacher, actually she shouldn't even be allowed to call herself a teacher, because she does not teach! she talks about the most random things... not even closely related to math... you'll do fine if you're decent at math-because you really teach yourself. DO NOT take her if at all possible!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not very good at math but Professor Dewlen does a fine job explaining this level of math. I didn't take her for any prep math so I don't know if she's any good at those, but for something easy like liberal arts math, she's good! I took it Summer B, it was very easy and not too fast.
If you are good at teaching yourself, this is the class for you!!
Mrs. Dewlen is by far one of the WORST teachers ever!!! She is rude to her students, calls her classes stupid, and roll's her eyes at almost every comment made by others. She does not help students learn math and should be ashamed to call herself a teacher. Unless you want to fail her class or be degraded in the process, DONT TAKE HER CLASS EVER!!
Able to understand & real easy to pass. The only things is that she's absence a lot.
She has an attitude issue, she doesnt go over her chapter reviews, class subject is easy, yet she is terrible to deal with. She has no patients, if you study on your own you will be fine. I got an A, Worst Professor at CFCC
impossible to understand, she didnt seem to care very much about the class as a whole, but there was the section in front of her that he would chat with continuously.
Professor Dewlen is apathetic, rude, degrading and a disappointment to her profession. She is unwilling to help and should get out of the profession if all she wants to do is talk at people.
I had this professor when I started at CFCC, 2 years ago exactly, and she was overweight, but nice, forgiving, and willing to help. She has become the exact opposite lately, and is now rude, unhelpful, and just plain aggressive towards students. She makes you feel stupid for asking questions, and really sends the wrong vibe. Do NOT take this class if you if you are bad at math! I had to teach myself everything! She barely teaches and when she does it doesnt make sense. She only focuses on her favorites in the class and thats it! Absolutely HORRIBLE teacher DO NOT TAKE HER!!!

coming to this class was like walking a plank everyday. DO NOT TAKE! she is painfully boring, late to class everyday at least 15 mins. what she "taught" in class was completely different from the hw and tests...stay away.
Very hard to understand. She has little to no interest in most students. You can pass her class if you spend a lot of time in the Mathlab or if you can teach yourself.
This professor does not play games and expects you to work. Don't waste her time if you're not serious to learn. If you work, you get rewarded. Simple enough...you don't want to learn don't come to college.
If you need a prof who will walk you through everything, she's not it... but, she's great at teaching you what you need to know. She is just not going to babysit you.
she is a great teacher, im in her calculus class and she makes it easy as pi... she can get moody, but what else do you expect with females. respect her and she will respect you, just dont try and cheat in her class, you will get caught.

would probably be a great teacher if your going into the class already knowing the material, but I had no knowledge and it made it very difficult for me. If I ask a question I want an explanation and not because it just is, I need to have math done step by step and she teaches in a way that steps are skipped. I would not recommend her at all.
Her class wasnt hard nor was it easy.Eventhough I failed her class, she is an okay tecaher.She gives you a pratice test weeks before the test day,and the pratice test is due on test day.The practice test counts as a test grade,so go to the math lab and make sure every question is right.So if you failed a test but aced pratice test you will be fine
She's consistently late. It is an 8 AM class and I know not to get out of my vehicle and start walking to class until at least 8. Has missed class several times, with short, if any, notice. Several problems on the otherwise helpsful takehome quiz are neither covered in class or addressed in the book. Be pregnant on your own time.
I took her class for calculus. It was horrible. She dont know how to teach calculus. Also she put test questions that she didnt even teach in class. NEVER NEVER take her class for calculus unless you are a nerd.if you want to take calculus go for Dr. Smith.
I took her class for calculus. she is the worst teacher in CFCC. Especially for calculus you are learning something new. she cant explain anything clearly and confuses us so much.
Out of all the algebra teachers she was the only one that made algebra crystal clear to me, granted i did a lot of homework, but her style of teaching was very helpful to me.
she is far from a professor! she flew through all the course work and i literally taught myself through My Math Lab! she would only show a couple examples and none would be on the homework. She is snotty and has a piss poor attitude. when asked a question she looks at you like your stupid and acts like your bothering her with a question!always late

She did not actually teach you, and then when yo went to do the homework on my math lab it was completely different. he only good thing was that the test review and the test were basically the same thing. In fact, she does not teach calculus very well and she's not quite helpful. The only thing good about this class is there are lots of homework and practice provided prior to the exams. If you finish all the practices, it's not hard to get a high grade in her exams as the questions in the exams are straight-forward and easy.
Took her class online. She was very easy. She allowed any and all notes on the tests. There is no reason one could not pass her online class.

I took Dewlen's online Stats class. It's 100% online, so you're on your own, using MyMathLab. Dewlen is as helpful as an online prof. can be. She replies to emails within a day with clear answers. DEFINITELY get the TI-83 calculator, as this model is the one the text is built around. I hadn't had algebra in 10 yrs and did just fine in the class.
THE WORST TACHER EVER! Not helpful, not encouraging, assists only those who are doing well in class. In order to succeed in her class you must have a previous knowledge in Calculus I otherwise failure is almost certain. DO NOT TAKE HER!
Absolutely One Of the WORST teachers at CF.Stay clear of her at all cost,otherwise you will definitely not pass the class.I highly recommend Ron Myers or James Roe teachers who care and teach their students way better than Dewlen.

I've never been more disappointed in a teacher in my entire life. Half the time she has no ideawhat she's talking about. She never gives you a direct answer becasue she doesn't know herself. She's rude when you try to ask questions. She doesn't help you with homework and brings her kid into class all the time. She treats my class like we were dumb.

She isn't a "bad teacher" in that she did attempt to educate, however she would start on a train of thought then say "No, that's not how I want to word that" and erase it from the board. Everything is through the math lab which makes passing difficult. She rolls her eyes at every question. I wouldn't take her class again.
Stat2023 was not easy but Mrs. Dewlen does her best to make the class as easy on the student as possible. Lecure notes and PPT are provided and are well organized. I would recomend the class to anyone.
I took her recently for Intermediate Algebra. She was horrible, she rolled her eyes, she was too quick on the board and went on about nothing. I didn't learn anything while I was there and had tons of Homework on MyMathLab. I would recommend to NEVER take her. I'm having to retake this class. Horrible experience.

Ok she wasn't the worst teacher I've had (trust me I've had a few) but she wasn't the best. She went a little to fast on the board and would complain that our class was "too quiet". She doesn't let you retake tests or anything and she seemed rude most of the semester. I struggled a bit mind you I haven't taken math in a year and a half.
I don't know why her rating is so low. Maybe people caused problems in class or didn't put enough effort in the class and were sore over a bad grade because she is nice, relatable,funny, and she explains everything well. Maybe they didn't like her personality but she is a good math teacher and my whole class liked her. I hate math but an an A.
Honestly knew going in she had a bad reputation but i gave her a shot. Worse mistake i have ever made. She loves to ramble, she will teach from her chair, she will roll her eyes at you, she does everything out of mylabs but what she teaches is completely different, shes very unclear and looses train of thought allot.
She is a passionate teacher who loves her field. She is uncouth and in a normal situation I would have addressed the issue but as a student it's not to my advantage. The course is compressed into 75min sessions twice a week. It's a pearson subject and the book is optional but I found it essential. She offers extra credit and tries to make it fun.
WORST TEACHER EVER. Every review about her rolling her eyes and being rude is true. I missed one test and she would not let me make it up and I was in Dual Enrollment. I got a 99 on the first test missed the second and did average on the third and final exam. I GOT A 69.3 IN THE CLASS AND SHE SAID SORRY ABOUT YOUR LUCK. NO credit, kicked out of DE.
Not sure which sucks more, her personality or her teaching ability. Gave her the benefit of the doubt when I took her class after seeing her bad reviews-What a HUGE mistake. The remarks about her rolling her eyes and being rude are completely true! I don't consider her a teacher at all. Real teachers help you and are there for you. She is not!
You go to class, she has an excuse of why she's late. She tells a story and then rushes the lessons and answers sarcastically when you ask questions. She doesn't explain what she's teaching and teaches off a powerpoint. She doesn't prepare you for exams and since we were behind the whole semester, we rushed each test.I wouldn't take her again.

When she is asked a question she takes minutes of thinking before she answers because half of the time she does not know the answer anyway. Even when she thinks, she still does not explain it, or even answer it. She is very rude and talks to everyone like they are stupid.
Mrs. Dewlen is a helpful teacher who will answer your questions clearly. I enjoyed her class but it is absolutely necessary that you do not get behind on the homework. As long as you study the guides for the tests and do the homework/quizzes by the due date, you can get an A in this class.
The class in and of itself is very difficult. She usually gave about 2 weeks for 2 chapters, however, she changed the due dates for some assignments (making them due sooner) without any notice or announcement. From her emails she seems like a nice professor but I have honestly never laid eyes on the woman. I also did not learn a thing. Do NOT take.
Teaches off a PowerPoint for one. When the class went to do the homework her method of solving the problems from the PP were very different than online's. Sometimes our classes only were 30 minutes (could've used this time to help students or ask how confident we were vs. ending class). When asked a question about the HW she slightly explains it.
If you come into this class with no knowledge of the subject, (Pre cal), it will be extremely difficult to pass. You will get little to no help from the instructor, and what help you get is sarcastic and lacking. Perhaps one of the worst instructors in this school. If you struggle with math, do not take this. Even self taught is extremely hard.
If you choose STA2023 for credit, you should choose the other teacher because this teacher is very unclear and makes you confuse anytime. The lesson was very easy but once I log in and took quiz, it was extremely different and difficult. The most thing I mad at her is that she doesn't care about each student's grade. My statlab causes problem.

Really hard to go to class when it's not mandatory. She's very soft spoken and shaky, and it's hard to listen to her lecture. She doesn't seem very confident which makes her feel less reliable.

The "review" day before the tests she simply hands you a practice test and says do it. if you ask her questions she looks at you like youre stupid because you don't know how to do it. all of the homework and quizzes are online, and theyre TOTALLY different than the actual tests. Wouldn't recommend her to anyone.

Pre-calculus is hard but this teacher makes it even harder for us. It is a waste of time gong to her office for help. She does not explain the math good. It is hard to try another teacher because she is the only one who teaches it. Stay away if you dont want your GPA to suffer
This woman isn't a horrible teacher but not a great one either. It takes a lot of studying outside of class to understand and she's not the best at answering questions but its not impossible to pass. She has practice tests online to help with the in-class tests as well as the final.
I took a hybrid statistics class with Professor Dewlen. This is definitely a class that you must work on out of the classroom, do all the homework, and go to class. Attendance is not mandatory, BUT you will be completely lost if you don't go to class. The practice tests were very similar to the actual tests, and this made it very easy to pass them.
I took this professor and the outcome was not good. she gives practice test to help out but it does not help if you need to learn. if you are moving on to calculus please avoid at all costs. I am paying the price now in calculus, a course I am failing because I never learn anything in her class. If you are moving on to calculus do not take her

She will help you when she can, but there's only one of her so make sure you seek Will"s help for statistics in the math lab. That will be super important for passing this class. P. Not an easy math class. If you don't study, you won't pass. Lots of equations to remember, but no formula sheet provided. Tests worth a ton, but she drops the lowest score. She's available outside her office hours(took my call at 10pm!) I took the class online, but I imagine she's more lenient to lecture students.
I took an online class, all I need is textbook and practice test and that's what she provided. I like her even we don't talk... all I need is an unlimited practice I like that I score 99.47% in her STAT2023 awesome:)))
Literally the worst professor I have ever had. Does not know how to teach. The class was full (30) when I started; there are now 8 kids in the class. Save your money and get a class with another teacher. Her main focus is to get as much done in one class period aka super rushed and sloppy lectures. Id give her a 0 if I could.
One of your four tests are dropped (extremely helping grade if you got a bad score on one like me). I'm normally pretty good at math but this class started out rough. Assignments are due monthly, DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! Cramming a month's worth of precalc into one week is not good and it really shows when you take the tests (unless you're a wizard).
I took the hybrid stats class and Prof Dewlen made this class bearable. I am not good at math and taking a hybrid class was a little daunting but Prof gave clear examples and definitions that made this class passable for me. Class wasn't mandatory but very beneficial if you go.
Overall I liked her. She lectured and encouraged participation. Tests were weighted a lot but if you studied and come to class to learn the material you easily pass. There was one project, you build a bottle rocket. She does use MyMathLab for homework and most quizzes. Some would be pop quizzes at the beginning of class. No extra credit offered.
The most useless professor I have ever had. Does not seem to care about student success and has a high and mighty attitude when contacted for help.
This professor was one of the worst professors Ive ever had . When asked for help in the class she simply wouldnt answer. One student emailed her asking for a better understanding with the class and she answered sorry you dont understand, the homework should help. Test were 70% so failing the test and doing good on homework didnt help you!
