He is great. Explains every thing step by step. Usually gets the test question out of the home-work. Friendly and willing to help any one. You can ask him any question and he will take his time until you understand.
Very thorough with his explanations. You can ask him anything. First half of tests are general answers. Multiple choice questions after that. Very fair teacher.
Great teacher . will go the extra mile .A+++++++
Funny, will help you and answer any questions you may have. Will not let you make up an exam if missed. But will count highest grade from other test to cover it. Let's you use a calculator.
Easy. Good teacher. He's there to help, his tests are based from the homework.Highly recommend!
One of the best teachers...Do the homework, ask questions when you don't understand, and pay attention in class and you WILL get an A. TAKE HIS CLASS U WON't REGRET IT!
ummm... i basically wish he was my biffle. haha. extremely nice, extremely intelligent. he cant really command a quiet class but it frustrates him so be respectful if you wanna learn/not get out late. he's really nice as long as you don't act stupid because he'll call you out on it. everything on the tests are pulled directly from the homework.
He teaches you by going through the book problems set by set and then he'll make you do the odd ones for homework. He will give you quiz every now and again but if you do your homework you're good. He is really helpful if you don't understand something. He grades on a curve most of the time and he gives you study guides so you should get an "A"
He talks like squidward but he is a pretty good teacher. His tests get easier as the semester goes on
Don't take his Business Calculus classs is a waste of time... take other person please!!!
I do not like his teaching style. He dictates the material & the example problems from the book & he doesn't go over or explain the material well. I have a 4.0 GPA & I have one semister left. I'm pretty good in math and I had to drop his class. Just wasn't for me. If you need clear instructions or are not good in math, I don't recommend him AT ALL
Hey, seriusly This guy is the works Prof. his Final is horrible and is worth 200 pts.The HW is supper long, He goes so fast that you feel you can't ever understand what he is saying, his test are even worst.. I speak the truth i have a 3.97 GPA and this is the worst class I ever took, is not even the subject is his teaching methods.=(
He is every educated about the subject he teaches and he explain it very clearly to you. i recommend everyone to take his class.
Does not teach very well. The Final is horrible its worth everything. pick another teacher
Lets face it, this class is tough. Prof Loschak gives you all the tools to get through the class. Yea the examples in class may be vague compared to the Textbook. He makes you work. I respect him for that. There is no easy A but if you do all your work and stick to it you should be fine. He will offer all the help you need. Very approachable.
Prof Loschak is helpful seems to care about his students success. The homework assigned is is hard because the BC Math textbooks are horrible. Know your algebra for Prof L's class and do all of your Homework because his tests are based on the homework. Overall I think Prof L is OK. Do what he tells you to and you should be OK.
He is very nice and approachable...I will give him that, but his methods for teaching stink. He just does the example problems from the book and assingns the odd ones for homework. He moves at a fast pace and it is hard to keep up. His tests are extreemely hard and I am good in math. I won't take him again, another teacher would be much better.
Very nice guy but his teaching mehtods SUCK. You bascially teach yourself, he does examples on the board all class hour that nearly put you sleep. He goes at a very fast pace, so its your job to slow him down if you get lost. he doesn't grade homework & your grades are based off attendance & tests. So if our a bad test taker=don't recommend.
The subject it self is dificult to understand; but he makes it worst b/c his teaching methods are from the 10th century uses book samples and the test very hard he tries to be funny (NOT) no extra credit exept for some questions in the test but they are really hard so no one realy gets them. like a chalenge take him. I DONT RECOMEND HIM !!!
Good teacher! He is very organized and gives great examples. The pace is fast but as long as you do your homework, you will be OK. If you don't understand, he is always available to help. He also gives extra credit on the exams.
The pace is fast. We were done a WEEK EARLY and I would have liked it better if he would have slowed down and taken his time. His teaching methods need some work and he should not skip steps for any reason. It might be faster to skip somethings but it makes learning even harder when the "mental" steps are skipped. Overall he is not a bad teacher.
One of THEE WORST math teachers in broward college. Once u step foot in that class you begin to sweat failure!! Please do not take this class. take someone else. 5 kids were left out of 40. it is not worth losing your money over. teaches way to fast. barely understood the work. DO NOT RECOMEND!!
Save yourself the agony!!! 9 sections on one test. expects students to do well on the test when the hightest score was a 59! if u want to fail by all means this class is for u...
Very good teacher. Can explain subject matter well, and is really good with word problems. However, his classes are not easy. Some tests cover 6 or seven sections, and you get lots of questions on tests and run out of time to work them out unless you are very familiar with math and really work hjard at homework and spend lots of time in math labs.
Believe me. i thought he was a nice teacher at first, but just wait till he turns on you. Failing students is his specialty. I DONT RECOMMEND TAKING THIS CLASS!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!! DONT SAY I DIDNT TELL YOU SO!!!
DO NOT TAKE......period.
Horrible math teacher. This class requires you to go through alot of stress. Doesnt matter what type of math class your in, dont take this guy.
He expects you to use your brain and do the homework. You're not in high school! Grow up. It was a challenging class, but I still passed with an A.
Hes a great guy and wants to help but i couldnt keep up. I thought he was bad at explaining things and used different methods when i went for extra help...very confusing!!!! and he moves extremely fast with one example of each type of problem..always tries to squeeze in as much diff material as he can in one day!!! not recommended!
He's a great instructor. Highly recommend him. He taught me a lot. If you are not motivated do not take this class. He has patience. Explains the material very well. He does cover a lot of material at one time but nothing strenuous. Make sure you attend class.
Very good teacher. Takes personal time to make sure you understand the subject. As long as you do all the homework and ask as many questions as you need you will be able to pass. He lets students call him at any time of the day or night for help on homework. I used to get off work at 1 A.M and call for help with the homework. Would recommend
I liked this teacher because attendance was not mandatory. He only grades tests so you can show up only on test days and still pass. He moves quickly but that's not his fault, he has a lot to teach in a relatively short time. Being able to understand a math book at home makes all the difference here. If you can do that, he's cool, if not, good luck
Really good teacher!!!! attendance not mandatory but you have to be really carefull with all your test!! her will help you alot so I attend all of his classes. I recommend him!!!
HORRIBLE! Does not teach at all. He only works out examples right out of the book! Does not check or answer homework questions. Your final grade is based in test scores only! Good luck!
GET OUT NOOOOOOWWWWW!!!!! I thought that I was going to be able to pass his class but his method of teaching is just really bad I just withdrew from this class and I am so glad that I did.
There are much better teachers out there. If you're not a "math person" look elsewhere. There is no extra credit and you will be graded only on your test grades. A large percentage of my class dropped out by the half way point of this semester.
He really knows his stuff, but his tests are extremely hard. Homework isn't graded, and attendance isn't necessary.
does not check homework assignments and attendance isn't mandatory. grades only based on test scores. do not take if looking for an easy A.
Find another teacher.
Attendence is important, because if you miss material you will fall behind. Homework is to be done for practice to understand the concept. He allows open notes and open book for all tests. If your final is higher than a regular testgrade he will replace your lowest score. He ecourages students to email or even call him (he gives his home #)Good Tchr
He is a thorough and clear teacher and offers his students any supplemental help he can to the extent of giving his home phone number. The subject matter requires that the student do their part out of class, but he will certainly do his part to help students succeed
This teacher is horrible.. even though tests are open books and open notes the class is extremely hard.. you just have to teach yourself and hope that you pass. don't take it if you need an A most likely it wont happen
He is a nice guy. Very fair, the tests are hit and miss. Some tests you can bring a notecard. I dont know if I will pass, but I think he is pretty good.
He is the best statistic professor in BCC, not only because he teaches well, but also he is so helpful, you just need to knock his door office and he will explain you whatever you do not understand. The class is by itself hard, you have to do the homework to get A's on the tests which are really challenging. He will challenge your inteligence...
Brilliant professor. Sometimes he looks arrogant. It is because he knows what he is talking about. Attendance is very important to not fall behind and homework is a must. If you think you are good at math taking him and you will know that you still have alot to learn.
He is good professor, but his methods are old. No online(blackboard) help. He would help you anywhere. His explaining some times gets confusing. Shop around for someone offers a blended course(online and class room). No homework is checked and he curves the results. Tests are easy. There are pros and cons. Know your scientific calculator(v. imp)
Good teacher. Willing to help the students. Gives his home phone number. Clear and concise. Take him every chance you get. Sit up front to avoid distractions and do the homework. The action is so real and intense; he will cover you in precious chalk dust and you will love every minute of it.
He's not a bad professor. Old-fashioned but considerate, approachable, and wants you to succeed. Homework is not graded, he doesn't answer HW questions during class, but you should of course do it. You have to go by his office if you need help. He's always there and wants you to understand why the answer is what it is. I'd take him again.
Amazing Teacher! Gives you a ton of options to pass this class. I didn't listen to his instructions and got a 59 on my first test. I learned my lesson and did exactly as he suggested and, Walked away with a 100 from his class. It may seem at times that he doesn't care, but he does. VERY VERY VERY HELPFUL!!!!
Awesome Teacher!!!! all of his tests are given on a 10% curve. The only things that count towards your grades are the exams and the tests. If you don't do your homework, you will fail this class.. Trust me... He's also hilarous!
THIS PROFESSOR IS AWESOME! HIS TESTS ARE NOT EASY BUT THEY ARE OPEN BOOK AND OPEN NOTES! HE GIVES YOU HIS PHONE # 2 CALL HIM WITH ANY QUESTIONS AND I USED IT A COUPLE OF TIMES! BEST MATH TEACHER AT BC HANDS DOWN. TAKE HIM U WILL LOVE HIM!
TAKE HIM U WILL LOVE HIM!...O SPECIAL NOTE USE KEYS FRM LAST YEAR IF U KNOW ANYONE THAT TOOK HIS CLASS. TEST QUESTIONS R THE SAME =)
He's really good, but he laughs at his own jokes which is kind of funny. He's available for help during his office hours and will answer questions during class. DO THE HOMEWORK! He doesn't grade the HW but it really helps on tests.
If you not confident about math in the first place, like I wasn't, this is not the professor for you. I felt that I had no chance surviving in that class and to my understanding, the majority of students in my class were failing as well.
I took this class during summer 2012. If you are transferring to a real university and have to take more maths: take Loschak. I attended his office hours regularly to review material (it was hard). If you can not handle Loschak's class you are probably not fit for higher education; in other words - he is a REAL professor, not like most at BC.
Since high school, i was never good in math but i wasnt bad either. Mr. Loschak gets right to the point when he teaches, If you know your math and the basics you should do. But unfortunately i dropped out because he went to quick for me. He goes through chapters so fast its hard to keep up. So if your a math wiz you'll be just fine if not dont take
this teacher was horrible.. my best and i just withdrew from the class because there was no way possible we would pass. his tests are all written and extremely hard. he gives absolutely no review! you get no credit for homework and he grades the tests very hard. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER AT ALL!!!!
I loved this professor. I am good at math but he was very helpful. I encourage you to take him.
By far the hardest professor I ever had, if you always struggled in math do not take his class. I had to drop his class because passing it was impossible all test are short response ! There's no open book or open notes ! No graphing calculators allowed and yes you have to graph ! He doesn't grade homework but you have to do it past and NO E/C
Puts aside office time for students who need help. Gives personal cell to call anytime to help with HW. HW not mandatory, but recommended. The work itself is difficult, but his teaching style is not. Gives a 10% curve on all tests except final. Will replace lowest test grade with final grade, if needed. Would recommend if you have math problems.
The single most helpful professor I've had the pleasure to study under thus far. He will demand you email, call or visit his office until the material sinks in. His class is not "easy" but you'll walk out feeling accomplished each time. He notices if you struggle and will approach you privately to offer help. In credibly sweet and intelligent.
I love Loschak, he isn't "easy", and he will call you out if you are being silly or unreasonable in his class but mostly hes very fun to listen to. His lectures go a little fast but he never minds repeating or reiterating and will offer endless amounts of help so long as you ask
I was taking trig, but I had to drop. I would have continued in the class, but I didn't have enough time. There was a lot of HW and it's a subject that needs time. His teaching method is also not for everyone. He teaches almost purely through examples, whereas I prefer some explanation first. I wouldn't take him again, though.
Challenging course because math is not my best subject, but he is a very good professor and has office hours as well. I actually liked how his tests were short answer. That way, each question was worth a few points, so it gave you an opportunity to get some points for the question even if your answer wasn't quite right. I received an A!
Very nice professor, likes to get personal with students and its a friendly environment. He's also a funny guy and a clear teacher.
This was my first college semester and I was terrified of failing math, but I ended up getting an A in his class. He is very nice and helpful. Any questions you have he is always more than happy to answer them. His explanations are clear and he makes sure all students are on the same page during his class. I highly recommend him :)
I took him for STA2023 over the summer (A 6 week course not for the faint of heart.) This class was very straightforward, and Professor Loschak was very receptive to student concerns, questions, etc. He's very witty and a brilliant guy, and he knows what he's talking about. Not an easy course, you must study! Anyone is capable of getting an A.
This professor is great. Straight forward, and very willing to help. He gives you additional credit just for taking the tests in class and will also replace a poor test grade with the grade from your final exam if you do well.
This was by far the hardest math i have taken due to the fact he doesnt teach very well, he basically mumbles to himself at the board. Test are all short response and very difficult. Gives tons of homework for no grades. Also teaches things that he says no other teachers teach because its hard then puts it on the test
I would NOT recommend this teacher. I'm telling you. All he gives you are tests every couple of weeks and no other grades to help you out if your not doing so well. He's extremely sarcastic and a little rude. Do not take this class.
He lets you miss class, as long you attend test days. He is really good at explaining. And so wiling to help. No homework thats graded.
Don't take! Run! Very sarcastic and sassy. Doesn't teach with actual concepts, goes over examples throughout the whole class! He will go over a hard example at the last minute of class and that hard example will be the easiest question on the tests. Very condescending if you ask him a question. The extra help is there if needed. Avoid him!
Without a doubt the worst teacher I've ever had in my life. I personally had a terrible experience in this man's class, but I can't imagine a person actually enjoying it. If tests aren't your strong suit, do not bother taking this class. He is not helpful, he is an incredibly tough grader, and he does not "believe in extra-credit". Don't do it.
Prof. Loschark is a great teacher! I took him over the summer last year, his class was Monday - Thursday. If you need help from him you have to ask! He is flexible with help. You have to do your recommended homework, if you don't do it you wont pass. His test are fair and he gives you credit for your work. I will be taking him again for trig.
One of, if not the, best math teacher I've had. Really nice and down to earth, and I was able to understand his lectures and logic really well.
This class was pretty difficult in the beginning, but became easier after learning how to study for his tests. Professor Loschak is honestly a really nice guy who is looking out for your best interest as long as you are willing to try and succeed in his class. He gives extra credit and curves his tests. I worked hard in his class and it paid off.
If you need help, professor Loschak has flexible hours. If you do the homework you should be able to pass. Don't do trig in the summer!
I took Calc AB senior year of HS (C- average). Decided to retake Pre-Calc and Trig. Made the right decision taking Trig with Dr. Loschak. DO THE HOMEWORK! Some problems in the tests look exactly like them. Even if you don't finish, you may have a fair understanding of the material. Final exam ?'s are from the previous tests. Ready to tackle Calc I.
Some people don't like him because he teaches through examples, but that is the way I like to learn and learn best. Final was pretty much a review. Assigns homework but you don't have to do it.
Excellent instructor. receptive to the personal difficulties that may arise during the semester. fair grader, reasonable office hours. If you take his course and you put forth the effort he requests you will pass. if you care about your grade, so will he.
Really awful at explaining ideas, you will need the book to get the teachings. Homework is optional but you'll have to do it if you want to score high on the tests. Test are NOT multiple choice, sweet. Would not recommend this teacher, but the course itself can get interesting.
The only grades he gives (at least in the class I took) are tests. They are basically the same as what he assigns on the optional HW so you know exactly what to expect. He does examples and makes everything pretty easy to understand. Others in the class struggled, so don't expect an easy A, especially if you aren't great at math.
Professor Loschak is a great teacher, he stops to answer questions and reassures you that nothing you ask is dumb, he breaks things down into understandable terms and works lots of examples, he points students to every possible source of help, and he kept the whole class laughing. If you aren't great at math though, keeping up w/ hw is a must.
It hard to understand his idea of teaching. He teaches through examples which doesn't work for me. You will have to read the book and teach yourself. He does give homework but are not turned in. I would not recommend this course if you are a slow learner in STATS.
Prof Loschak really expects hard work and dedication. If you don't give a 100% you wont pass. Homework isn't for a grade but is SUPER IMPORTANT if you want to pass. He's a good teacher but don't rely on his notes for the test. You really need to practice and study. If you do the homework he assigns and the practice tests you'll be fine.
I can barely understand him some times. Very monotone and the fact that your grade is literally just tests is stressful. He also refuses to use technology and doesn't really make tests equal to the quality of questions he instructs off of, so it requires you to study a lot more than is needed.
May as well take a blended course. If you would like to pass his class then you will have to be able to teach yourself the material. He helps yes but you would have to keep going back if you have questions because homework isnt discussed in class. If you aren't strong in "math lingo" or keeping up with homework then choose a different Prof.
He isn't straight to the point sometimes, I heard him repeating certain things a lot but that didn't make it easier to understand Stats. Nor did he make it easier to listen to him be aside he really doesn't grab your attention. He doesn't go over calulater functions which help you for stats.
The first A I've ever gotten in math was from this Loschak. He's kind, honest, and you can tell he loves math enough to explain it to his students, you only need to ask him the right questions. Do the hw, it helps so much! Create a formulas sheet and refer to it, also save the test keys for the final. Lastly make a friend in the class and study!
Worst professor I have ever taken. There is no extra credit and the only grades you receive are off of 5 tests. He gives a lot of homework that is supposed to help you understand the material but doesnt even go over the homework in class.
Not a difficult class as long as you study and do all the homework, if you don't study you won't pass. There's no extra credit but he drops the lowest test.
He needs to be more open to answering questions in class his notes and homework and test need to be more organized and similar.
If math come naturally to you, you will easily get bored with him. He goes extremely slow and step by step through each process. If math isn't your greatest subject, he goes slow enough for you to understand and he is readily available to help you. Great teacher for people who need step by step instruction on college algebra
I took his Statistics class and I'll be taking his Algebra class. Attendance isn't technically mandatory but all test material is covered in class and if you don't show up you'll fail every test. His tests are nearly identical to the homework, but you have to work fast. It's a challenging class but it's easily passable if you put forth the effort.
Professor Loschak is honestly amazing! I'm great at math, but I still think he teaches well and cares about students' understanding. Make sure to attend his classes and ALWAYS do your homework. He won't go through HW; however, his tests are very similar.
Love this teacher! His tests aren't too hard. For people who excel at math, he goes too slow, because he gives lots of examples but I like it this way. He explains things clearly with tons of examples to make sure you understand it. Really cares for his students' success. He's nice and funny too. Would take him again and again.
I can admit that professor Horacio is a great teacher when explaining, he goes over many examples to allow each student a chance to understand. As for your grade? There are 4 tests and a Final that will replace the lowest test score. On the tests, NO graphing calculator is allowed.... only an old school which is insane. No multiple choice, 30 Qs..
He takes attendance but only uses it if you are begging to get your 89 up to an A. But you should definitely go because he explains each lesson so well and goes over hw questions. hw for each lesson but it's never due. do the hw because each test is the exact same thing just different numbers. all 5 tests are open book open note. so easy to pass!!
He cant teach!! Do not take him. He takes attendance but its not mandatory to attend. He reads most of his notes to us, he doesnt actually teach it. His tests are long and there isnt enough time to finish, unless you are a genius at stats I really suggest you dont take the class.
Let me just throw this out there; the people (who took MAC 1105) and rated this professor poorly are basing it off of the fact that they don't get a lot of "cushion" grades. He's a great professor and if you can't put in the work to pay attention and ask questions when you're confused, don't blame him. He's very patient, and a generous grader.
In hindsight, I wish I would have developed better study habits sooner ! Mr. Loschak gave me all the tools I needed to succeed in his class ! His notes included key points that would be included on the test, and he advised to do all the homework for extra practice! He is caring and wants students to succeed, but as a student you have to do your pt
Great professor! Very good teaching skills and cares if his students are doing good or not. Que goes a bit fast but if you pay attention you wont have any problems. His tests are exactly what he teaches and he gives credit even if you did not get to the answer
His tests are not multiple choice. Fairly easy if you do the homework. Homework isn't for a grade but its extremely useful for the tests. He will not bump you up. I got a 79 and didn't bump up. He does curve each test slightly by 5-10 points.
Great Professor. Took session 2 over summer. Homework is optional, crucial in passing, and not graded. Only grades are tests. First and second test no note cards, third test you can use 1 note card, fourth test 2 note cards, fifth test 3 note cards. Takes attendance in case you end with an 89 he'll bump it to an A. Do homework and do note cards.
Do NOT take this class, especially if you struggle with math. Extra help is only available at office hours. No extra credit. The homework isn't graded and he doesn't go over it, so if you don't pass the tests, you fail; he doesn't EVER give test reviews or study guides to help out. Takes off 1/2 pts for minor mistakes. Condescending.
If you want to feel like you are still in high school and struggle through feeling questioned by his homework, take him.
So I currently just withdrew his class, his class consists of a lot of homework but isnt graded. He gives five tests per semester, and your lowest grade can be replaced by the final. Hes a good person and a good professor. Reason why i withdrew from this class is because im not the best test taker. Take his class if youre good at math already.
Best math prof i have ever taken. Took MAC1105 with him on my third(and last) try and finally passed. He may not grade homework, but if you actually do it and just study you will pass! I went from getting all F's on math tests to all A's. Just takes time and dedication.
I took him for MAC1105 and did not understand a thing he taught. He didn't answer questions in class, he said you had to come during office hours. His tests looked nothing like the notes we took in class. Would definitely not recommend taking him!
5 tests in total + a final. Homework is optional but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED because he styles his test EXACTLY like the homework just w/ different numbers. HIs lectures are good because he does examples from the homework. Do your HW & you will pass. He adds 10% to your test if you show up in class to take it!! Some concepts were hard but most were easy
He only grades test. Do not take him if you are bad at math, he goes really fast so it was hard for me to keep up. I have to do a lot of extra studying and tutoring to pass the class.
He's a pretty good person overall, but if you struggle with math, choose another professor. Your grade is based on 5 tests and you have to do really well on them to pass his class. Do the recommended HW that's not graded, and you should be fine. You have to study a lot, he's a tough grader too. Takes off points for minor mistakes.
Professor Loschak is a great guy and his classes are fun, but he is not a particularly talented teacher. The classes run at breakneck pace, and it's easy to get left behind. If you have no ability with math, you will very much struggle. If math doesn't scare you, do the work and you'll get an A with plenty of laughs along the way.
Worst teacher I've had at BC so far. My main problem is the fact that he bases your whole grade off 5 tests, no grade for homework, classwork, projects, etc. Only 5 grades which are the 5 tests taken for each chapter. I've always loved math & it usually comes easy to me but somehow he made it extra difficult for me. Definitely do not recommend him.
RUN!! Worst teacher ever. Super confusing. Tests are not multiple choice except for final. Most people didn't have time to finish the tests. Final can replace your lowest grade and he gives a curve if you take the test in class but the tests are extremely hard. Very monotone and terrible at explaining. don't understand he'll just confuse you more.
THIS PROFESSOR IS THE WORST! Always tries to cover 5 topics in a 1 hour class. Asking for clarification? its really useless because he explains it so fast and if you ask a lot of questions he shames you. His homework don't help even if he says "it does" because the TESTS ARE HARDER THAN YOU EXPECT IT. He wants the longer method of solving.
Even though he grades tough he is very passionate when explaining. You must work hard and study a lot but is doable.
Worst professor I've had in college, he ONLY grades you on tests and the final exam, you can easily lose motivation in this class
Mr. Loschak rocks! His class is not easy but he is a great professor and the stuff he teaches you is actually applicable in the real world.
Prof. Loschak is a really nice guy and a decent teacher but if you struggle in math, do not pick him. Grade is an average of 5 tests and the final. Lectures are at a decent pace and he will help if you're struggling after class. Tests are all free response except the final. Take good notes and do the HW, and you might pass.
Professor Loschak is an okay professor. If you don't understand the material or ask questions you won't pass. Not to say he's not a great person. He's easy to get in contact with and will answer any concerns you have. I definitely suggest if math isn't your strongest subject look for someone else.
He does a terrible job of explaining the material and takes forever to respond to emails. He only grades the tests and the final. The grade for the final can be used to replace your lowest test grade. He also doesn't put his office hours on his syllabus.
He is a decent professor. Your grade is based solely on 5 tests and a final. He is very open to questions during lectures and if you need help his office is always available for office hours. Homework isn't graded but it is in your best interest to do ALL the homework.
Prof. Loschak is the first teacher that have ever made math classes fun for me. He is very funny and caring. The material he's teaching is tough, but he explains it very well, and as long as you do you homework and ask for his help when you need it, you will be just fine.
made me actually like statistics after having to withdraw from a stats class due to how frustrated i was. pay attention, do your homework, REINFORCE WHAT YOU LEARNED. practicing outside of homework will give you such a massive advantage in this class, you have no idea. take notes verbatim and make sure to revise.
Professor Loschak is the worst teacher i've ever had. I'm great at applying my math skills, but somehow he made this class difficult for me. All he does is review some problems from the homework and talks about what engineering majors need to know. The class is difficult and his monotone voice almost puts me to sleep. DO NOT RECOMMEND taking him.
Passed due to getting straight A's through Pearson homework and tests. His written final exam was NOTHING like anything worded on Pearson, very tricky. Beware of his written tests. Horacio if you see this, I recommend you give students weekly (pop) quizzes to get used to your wording and not have them conditioned to Pearson all semester!!
He was a pretty fun teacher, he gave many examples in class and let other participate on each question. However, if you didn't say something he was writing, he would press super hard on his marker. Only has 5 tests, each being 100 points and one being 200 (final). Make sure to study for the test. Homework isn't mandatory, but suggested.
In my personal opinion, he is a really good professor, homework it's not graded and he doesn't use MyLab. You will have 5 test and one final but the questions are similar or even the same ones as the examples in class. He always try to involve the students in the class and makes sure that everyone is understanding.
Even though the only grades are tests. Professor Loschak explains the material well. He does not believe in MyLabs but there is an option to study using MyLabs, he just won't grade your work because there is no homework grade. If you know how to study and take tests, this is the class for you because Horacio genuinely seems like a nice guy.
Awful at responding to emails, had to go to his office to actually speak with him (for a fully online class) Refuses to curve grades, so many HW assignments/exams, waited 9 days before class ends to tell us every exam was open book. The only benefit is that he is lenient with extensions and reopening exams for class. Hard class, very time consuming
