I took Bus 100-101A, it was a Hybrid class. The assignments were clear, related to the topic and his grading system is really fair. Thank goodness his class was not boring as it was a 3 hour class starting at 7:30PM. He is passionate about his lectures as he seems to enjoy what he is teaching. I would definitely take a class with him again :).

Great professor and has entertaining and informative lectures. Treats classes like business meetings at the beginning , and lectures go over material while clearly explaining what will be tested. Also, displays videos that backup lecture points. Tests and homework are straight forward, but also case studies that are more open to interpretation

Professor Horan is a great instructor. Very caring and helpful if you talk to him. Do the homework to get the extra credit to help you master the concepts because the exams are challenging. I got a lot of value out of the course, especially studying from the Assignments Mindtap. However, If you put in the effort you will do well.

Professor Horan wants the students to engaged in class and understand the chapter he is teaching. I like the lay out he had for class; 3 exams, homework, attendance (mandatory), and 1 Case study. If you ask him for help he will guide you. If I had to take another Business class I would take it with him.

Great Prof! His Organizational behavior class was easy breezy. We had homework through MindTap for 16 chapters, 3 exams and 1 case study. He is an easy grader, and does not give extra credit (so keep up). He has a great sense of humor and many stories to relate to the curriculum to keep the students engaged. I'll be taking another class with him.

Professor Horan was very clear of what he expected from students, grading criterias were precise. You could miss his class and still pass but he gave useful information about the exams so was definitely helpful to attend sessions. Made class very efficient with activities, lectures and jokes every now and then. I definitely recommend him!

Professor Horan is a great! He really gets you interested in the material and encourages debating in class. If you think something is wrong, he will hear you out, teaching you if you are incorrect while also admitting when he is wrong. The tests/ quizzes are mildly difficult but you'll be fine if you participate! I'll be taking his class again!

A man who is always accessible by text even on his busiest days at the DOT. Take professor Horan and for the first time in your life you will actually want to show up to class! He is great professor and let students participate in class, but some students are taking advantage and use their " air time " even if they do not have the knowledge . It slows the group progress and it is annoying.

For those who are really busy but need to take Business Management, this is a great professor to take it with (I took the 8 weeks class, very feasible). Focuses on the important parts of the material, shares fun stories that relate to the class, and no group projects(thank goodness!). I would take his class again :)

Professor Horan is one of the best professors I've had up to date. His expectations are very clear and reasonable. I was worried about taking another class after I graduated from VCU in 2016, but he proved to be one of the best professors I've had at NVCC. I'm very glad I chose his class in order to receive my certification.

Mr Charles Horan is such an amazing teacher, he makes learning fun. He uses his own life experiences in his teaching which is very helpful. He clearly tells you what you need to know to pass his class. He is very organized, on time and knows his stuff. Dr. Horan is one the best professors I've had at NVCC. He has a good sense of humor and often tells life stories that you can learn from and laugh at the same time. The case studies and final project are pretty easy, but he doesn't explain how to do it since he expects us to think like a boss. Definitely recommend

Instructor Horan was the best I've ever taken so far. Very humble person and takes his class seriously. learnt a lot despite the short period of time.

An amazing teacher has owned multiple businesses in the past, so he really knows what he is teaching. Has an answer for any business question you can think of. You can text at any time and he will reply ASAP. Every teacher should learn how to teach from him and every business student should learn how to do business from him.

Amazing professor i had ever seen in Northern Virginia all Campuses. He is very inspirational instructor and share a real life business related experience with students during the lecturing. He is currently senior staff member of U.D DoT. All assignments are based on the real life businesses and free to ask anytime out of class through text msg.

I didn't know what to expect when entering the class since I haven't taken any business class while in college but I was not disappointed because Mr. Horan is a very good professor. The class was super easy and straightforward. There is a lot of homework though but if you how to manage your time well, it is doable. I learned a lot from him.

I took this class for BUS 280 online. This was done really well, the professor set clear outlines for the entirety of the semester. Do the homework, go to class and you'll pass. I enjoyed this class and will look to see if he is teaching another class I'd need and take it.

Prof. Horan not only taught in an easy to understand manner but clearly outlined the expectations to receive an A+. Prof. Horan always sprinkles real life scenarios when teaching which allows for better memorization. He also has a sense of humor and is extremely flexible so long as you inform him of your issues in time. To pass you must do your hw.

Professor H, is great and is always there to answer questions. He tries his best to review essays given to him if they are sent in early so, you can edit and then grades the edited paper. You should expect to talk to your classmates in class. the textbook is available online for cheap. also his 2 tests count for the final so study for them.

Professor Horan is a lovely man. He really cares about his students and wants to make sure everyone passes his class. His tests are easy if you attend class and pay attention to the test review. His homework is annoying because you only have one attempt on MyLab and at times can be hard. Love his approach to online classes, take him if you can!

Easy A if you show up to class and do the work. All the work is in the electronic textbook (hw, quizzes, warm-ups) etc. The exams are usually on the days of when a certain # of chapters of HW is due. Also 2 articles throughout the sem. Take this professor if you are willing to do work independently based on your schedule.

Professor Charles Horan is a great professor for BUS 100. He gaves good lectures and provide the material needed to pass the class. Be carfeul about missing the assigmnet because that would be a problem, otherwise it is a very good class and professor is also a good solid choice.

Took the 6 week online lecture class. Class was easy to understand, teacher will stop and explain things differently, if you don't understand it the first time around. All assignments were through Mcgraw. Assignments are easy to complete as long as you do them on time and tests are not much different that whats gone over in class and the book.

Great professor. Fairly easy grader as long as you put some effort into the answer. Discussion posts aren't too difficult. He responds quickly to emails.

Great professor! Very relaxed class. lectures match with the textbook which matches the material on the exams. No surprises. The hw is done by McGraw hill and it is a fantastic way to learn. Way better than just book reading, you will actually learn the material.

He is an amazing professor, very chill and understanding. Lectures were clear and he also shows great videos. We had two papers, 2 open note exams, and connect assignments. You'll def pass if you go to classes and do the assignments.

Amazing professor!!! Would 100% take again. Although attendance is not mandatory, participation and attendance count towards your grade but his lectures are intriguing for the most part. Course material and textbook are easy to follow so as long as you do assignments on time you'll be fine.

Charles Horan is extremely laid-back and very fair when its comes to grading. I took this class as a three hour block once a week and it really flys by. Only down side is you'll be doing quite a bit of bookwork. Looking at 120-160 question for each chapter, often two chapters a week. It's all multiple choice, just don't get behind!!!

I took BUS100 course in seven weeks. The material is a lot but the professor was so helpful and make every thing easy.

Professor Horan is the best, we had a fast paste class and we got to cover the whole entire book.That's amazing! But that's not all we actually learned the concept. Just make sure you pay attention and take notes. His class assignments are easy to follow. We tested after every few chapters, but before that we have exam reviews which help very much.

His style is teaching great to understanding the material.

Honestly, I wish I had taken a longer class with Chuck as the instructor. I 100% recommend taking him as your instructor for business. He's great, gives good feedback, and makes you read a lot, but the class lectures cover much of the reading material.

The class I took was an accelerated class, which was a little more difficult for me, but he knew what he was teaching the test makes you learn more knowledge, but if you do your homework and pay attention and class you will be good!

I had this class once a week for 3 hours, the best part of this class is the professor. He is the best college professor I had so far. There is homework every week, no quizzes, and only two exam.
