Very good lectures, makes you want to be an econ

The material is kinda tough but he spells everything out, he was great!
Excellent... Best I've had at Towson
Good teacher, passionate about economics, explained everything well
Awesome teacher. Hard material but he explains it VERY VERY WELL
Excellent teacher. Very into the material, knows it very well.
If you want to learn, he is the best. Very challenging.
This professor is great! He makes it entertaining...
He will help you, but DO NOT TAKE Money and Banking with him.

Good teacher, but he grades you based on 4 tests, which doesn't work 4 me.

Makes economics very exciting
Excellet professor. Challanging, helpful, and takes you, as a student, seriously
This guy is the best there is.
Loves teaching, wonderful personality, helpful. Take this with him!
Best teacher I have had. Makes class so much fun and interesting
Very difficult but great teacher... on-line quizes and exams are AWEFUL!!!!!!!!
Challenging class. Doesn't like it if you miss class alot, but sometimes it's worth going just to see the funny looking sweaters he wears.
This professor's grasp of economic theory is amazing. He doesn't make you memorize stuff you'll never use; instead, you learn concepts and reasons for behavior. His style is excellent. You'll not only learn, but retain everything he says. Class is fun
hard! but great!!!!
Has to be the best prof at Towson University. Very enthusiastic and motivating. If you want to learn something take his class. P.S. - the sweaters aren't that bad!
lots and lots of work, both in the book and online; the work pays off for the tests; wants students to learn and understand the material; always willing to help; very nice; hates taxes, social security, minimum wage; believes drugs should be legal.
This man bases your grade only on the 4 tests. So if you're not a good test taker, don't take hime because you won't do well.
bestteacher at towson university. I loved his class he knows what hes teaching so well and explains it great. best teacher I ever had take this class if your a economics major
knows his crap. if u study and understand u will pass, no study=fail 4 sure. he is a goofball, but funny. online stuff is a pain in the arse.
awesome teacher. knows his stuff. very enthusiastic which makes it fun. lots of online quizzes and work, but well worth it! great teacher!
A lot of assigned reading and writing, hard work, but a fun class. And if you're not good at taking tests, why are you in college?
He is an excellent teacher, makes everything very clear in class. Go to class and pay attention and its an easy A or B.
Very lively and enthusiastic! It's a fun and interesting course with him, but there are a lot of online quizzes. It's also an outgoing class with students using the board a lot. Going to class to see his outfits are priceless :)
Extremly nice guy, but class is ALOT of work. Online quizes & readings, blackboard quizes, and textbook reading. Tests are long and indepth. Must keep on top of things and cannot fall behind. Overall, learned alot and would definitely recommend him.
Test are hard and too many damn quizzes. But over all he's a nice professor. Not an easy A though. Only the geeks and losers got A's and B's in class! Don't take if not serious about subject
Very thorough in explanations. Really passionate about the subject.
good teacher. pay attention, read what he assigns by the time it's due, and keep up with papers, you'll do well. he knows what he teaches. Ask if you dont kno, he'll try to explain it at your level.
Best teacher I've had in a long time. Alot of quizzes, but they pay off in long run. This guy acutally wants you to learn and comprehend the material
Great prof. Definately recommend. He is a Libertarian, but it helps to get all of the Economic Concepts across. Lots of reading and online quizzes. Does not want to see people fail. Stay on top of the work and you will do fine.
Excellent teacher, one of the few at towson that are at the top 3. very motivating and exciting, you almost want to become an economist or a capitalist whichever is more persuading
wonderful!!! you'll love him...he loves economics and it shows
he is a great teacher. he makes everything very clear. you can tell he really loves teaching and that he cares about his students
Baetjer is great! Class can get a little long but you will get something out of it and It really isnt that hard as long as you do online quizes and few assigned readings
Best teacher i have ever had. Extremely helpful and very nice guy. Interesting class too.
Prof. Baetjer is easily the best professor I've had. I signed up for his 323 class because I liked him in 201, and he didn't disappoint. He's clearly an expert in his field, and his explanation of public choice theory is astounding! He loves/knows this!
The best professor ever!! He almost turned me into a econ major, just so i could take more of his classes. I love this guy, and he looks exactly like Kevin Bacon. I hope i end up being his next door neighbor!! What a great guy!

One of the best classes I've ever taken. He challenges the way you think, breath and live. If you are truly interested in an education, take him, study, do the work.
Greatest teacher in all of Towson University, HE looks just like Kevin Bacon, he must have a hot wife because he mentions her almost every class. Coolest dude, but beware, the online quizzes are a lil tough, just do your work and ull do fine
He's the best! Very helpful with everything. I had mono, missed 3wks of classes and he allowed me to take an incompete to get everything done. VERY nice. Take him for whatever class he teaches. It's worth the work if you get him. I was lucky to have him.
the best techer ever! I learned so much and now that i'm in macro its easy to me because he taught me so much.
He is a good prof. and I've learnt a lot in his class so far but he's TOUGH AS HELL!!! Never in my entire life have I seen such horrible grades....but I still want to learn though and I know I will in his class
No Comments
He gives you so much work, he acts as if his class is the only class that you are taking, it is crazy!!!!!!
Nice teacher, tries to make class enjoyable. Keep up with the readings and especially the online quizzes which are due almost every day before class. Exams are mainly multiple choice and some problems. Not too hard.
Best class I've taken at Towson yet. Calls himself Howie, tells funny stories. This guy knows his stuff and loves what he does. Complete liberatarian. Coolest Proffessor... only idiots could do poorly.. my section all had A's.
WOW...be careful, he just might make you want to change your major. I know I did. This guy is sooo passionate about Economics...and he's a classical liberalist (a radical in his beliefs) But they're so interesting and true. DEFF TAKE! Not much work
Cool Guy. Loves what he does. Makes the class enjoyable. Unlike half the teachers at TU, he actually cares about his students and what they learn. Take this class.
can you say ENTHUSIASTIC? good, I knew you could...Baetjer is the definition of the word.
Great teacher. Very enjoyable class. He does online aplia quizzes. Id say there's over 50 over the semester, but it really makes his tests a breeze, and you end up learning the material. If your lazy, dont bother, if not, take this class, its useful.
I hate him...he thinks you should just know economics just by being born. dorky, rude and i would recommend taking someone else.
I had him for micro and comparative. In both classes, there are a lot of little assignments to keep up w/. In comparative, workload is insane. Easily the best teacher ever. Knows his subject and conveys it clearly. Keeps up w/ old students.
One of the best teacher's I've had. He explains the material very well and he loves doing it. Student participation is a must, and if you show up to his lectures, you will definitly ace the class.
hes a funny man
He's a great professor and a born teacher. But he gives a lot of tedious work that really eats up your time. If you have a choice take Kariotis. Its less of a hassle. But you'll learn alot in any of his classes.
best professor ever, almost turned me into an econ major. must take for anyone!!
You have quizes to take on aplia.com that are hard and really don't help much. He's unclear and unorganized when teaching and he goes off on boring tangents.
Worst teacher ever, totally **** and plain awful instructor. He should be teaching woodshop in Hell, but an early release program placed him at Towson.
I'm sorry to say but he didn't know how to teach the course. So many people have told me to take him because he was good, but I was lied too. He makes you take quizes everynight online on topics we haven't learned yet and those quizes are a big part of your grade too.
He is the best teacher in college that I have ever had. He LOVES economics and relates it to everday life. The aplia online quizes do take up a lot of time, but I think that they really help in understanding economics. If you want to learn about economics, he is the teacher to take!!!
Great professor, the book is extremely easy and he goes over everything on the test. Aplia assignments are a bit of a pain, but they really help. Just go to class and take notes and you'll be fine.
Very hard grader only 10 people out of 100 got an A. half of the class fails. two much work but makes easy to understand material.
baejter is the best. the people who gave sad faces never read. yea there are online quizzes, just develop a system, get a group, 1 person takes it and gives the answers so u pass the majority of them w/ perfect scores.i semi read text-finished with a B. AND he still remembers me! i love you baejter!
he's a very smart and nice man; however, the material is very hard to understand. He wants you to learn the material, but its just too much and hard. His tests are impossible. As nice as he is, the class is still hard. I don't reccomend the class.
excellent teacher. You will learn more in that class than the rest of your classes combined. The quizzes online make you do the readings before class so you come prepared. He will help you out at his office and he gives great examples and leaves the boring texbook crap alone.he's very passionate
amazing class w/ an amazing prof. he's def not easy, but pay attention, do the work, take good notes and u will learn so much from his class. take him and u will most definitely be glad u did...no slacking off though, it will catch up to u
What can I say, this man is crazy. He loves economics but cannot teach it. He is very spastic and unorganized. I was lost the first minute of the first class. Don't take Econ with him its impossible. Only 15 people got an A out of 100..thats saying something.
He is a vrey good professor. He makes you understand economics.
Best professor Ive ever had at Towson. I still talk to him to this day. The material is hard I'm not gonna lie, but I never skipped this class once and I never go to class. He is SOOOO interesting. Met many friends in this class taht have lasted ever since.
very nice guy. Knows what hes doing. polite, funny and very passionated about econ. hes lot of help. He teaches english too. critical about essays but overall, very smart guy.
skip this man if u can. he's hard. if u wanna leave skool early take another professor. he plays with u but still fails u. aplia is hard not helpful at all. what do u need english for in econ. he's so hard, dont take him please RUN from him. good luck if ur already in it
Nice guy, but Very hard.
Great teacher! Only professor at Towson I've had who learns everyone's names in a class of 100! Material is difficult, but he passes on his love of Micro to his students. I NEVER got bored or fell asleep in a lecture hall! Definitely take him if you're willing to do the work.
He is great. The online assignments are for your benefit. it takes some time but it will improve your grade. Very enthusiastic about his job and tries to make sure every student knows what is happening. By far the best teacher i've EVER had
BAETJER IS THE MAN. sure he's a little unorganized, but at least the man speaks clear english and will be able to help you understand. Buy the extra workbook...many of tests questions come from it. Read the text and you'll be alrite. He's very smart and can find ways to help you understand material
By far the best teacher I've ever had! He helps you understand like no one I've ever seen. Very helpful out of class and is very well spoken. Knows his stuff and probably one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Online assignments are easy and experiments are fun, help you understand a lot.
One of the nicest teacher. He loves micro and wants everyone to love it too. very helpful. tests are hard but he goes over alot.online assignments are boring and take time but they count for 11 percent of ur grade.they are helpful in learning.has three ways of grading final grade and it benefits us!
Definitely one of the best instructors I have ever had. He is incredibly passionate about the subject and wants to make sure students understand. He encourages students to think about the topics on their own and form their own opinions. Almost every class period was very interesting.
Baetjer is the best teacher at towson. He teaches you so much and really cares about you learning the material. He helped me decide I wanted to major in Economics. 3 tests, 11% hw, and 4% in class quizzes which u have very little of and he makes sure you're prepared. One of the best teachers at Towson.
nice but fking hard. loves the subject and helps but still fails you. skip if possible unless u have a lot of free time
Polite and insulting at the same time, and fails you because he has a grading system that he wouldn't change for the world, and if your grades don't add up, your screwed. He does not count your effort or participation in class. If you have this class, God be with you and GOOD LUCK!
Howie is the man, makes boring econ fun to learn and if you actually pay attention in class you will do fine. Tests can be tricky but he will curve ur test grades at the end. Best prof for econ
The best teacher at Towson, hands down! He is a highly intelligent man and he is very passionate about economics. If you have the change take any classes he teaches. Comparative Economic Systems is awesome, if you are up for a challenge.
Baetjer is the best teacher at Towson. His examples are very clear. He gives tons of homework on Aplia, but it worth it because is makes MICRO so clear. Would recommend to everyone for either a gen ed or for the business major.
He is the greatest teacher ever!
Howie is very passionate about free market economics and how government can restrict our economy. I enjoyed his class greatly. He was always on topic and covered everything in the book with time to spare. Tests are fairly easy but have NO CURVES. Be ready to use a computer in this course and do all online assignments, it will help you on tests!
I can honestly say he is the best teacher I have ever had at Towson U. He is willing to help you as much as you need in order for you to understand the subject matter. He is one of the few profs that actually want you to learn and remember what he is teaching.
I would have to agree with everyone on here about his micro class. When I first found out I had to take micro for my major, I wasn't that happy and I thought it would be a horribly difficult class. Not so with Professor Baetjer. He wants you to learn the material. Aplia assignments always and be prepared to work and learn a whole lot.
Unlike many teachers, it is easy to tell that he deeply cares about the subject. His explanations are very clear and if you show up to class every day, the tests should be relatively simple. Studying for tests is still a must, however. He is my favorite instructor at towson so far.
He is VERY knowledgeable and presents information in ways that are easy to grasp. He also shows that he cares about his students and wants them to learn. Overall, he's an excellent professor. Take him!
his micro class was a lot of work, and the tests were half multiple choice half open ended, online assignments due every day class meets then some extra reading assignments and like 2 videos. He grades on info and grammer etc when papers are handed in. If you ready for a ton of work, have fun.
very friendly and willing to help others better understand his class
This class is a lot of work, but its worth it. He's a very interesting teacher and he presents the material in ways to help you remember. You definitely have to study for the tests, but its all material he has gone over a lot in class. He's very passionate and willing to help students understand the subject. I would recommend!
This professor is very knowledgeable, but I couldn't understand what he expects from his students. You have to work a lot in this class , this is not a 3 credit course but 6 credits course. He is very helpful though. I don't like him. Don't ever waste taking this class. It's not worth it. He expects everyone to be perfect.
Tons of work, but he is very helpful. He really likes discussion in the class and if you can't talk........work very hard
great teacher, but class is way too much work. make sure you take this class when you don't have too much else going on in your life. you have to stay on top of the constant readings and online quizzes and such. however, he's great with helping students to understand the material. values students' opinions, and is especially big on discussions.
He is very helpful but too much work and he is very hard in grading. He wants his students to be perfect. He has to change his teaching habit. He is more into lectures than teaching.
3 tests, bunch of extra work. 39% of the class got D's or F's on the 2nd test we just took. Enough said. He is way too hard. Pretty interesting guy, really nice, but his political stance sucks. If he ran the world, the world would be full of all caos.
First test I got an A. Second test I got an F. He's a good guy, kinda hard, but not too bad. Says if we do well on the final then he'll just count that as our final grade in the course...so it's not too bad, really nice guy, very interesting
I'll probably fail his class.. which sucks bc i went to all of them, and still could not do well. He expects way too much of us, bc he thinks its "so important for us" when it isnt. If this was my only class, I could have passed I think. Each day I go, I think I get more lost
He's very passionate about what he's teaching. Yes, 2nd exam was very hard, I did a fine job in 1st one, but I don't think i am gonna get more than B in his class. Very nice, helpful guy.
LOVED THIS CLASS! EXCELLENT PROFESSOR! he is so passionate about economics and it shows. the exams arent too hard, basically common sense. he does everything he can to help you understand the course. if you have a choice in who to take for econ, take him!!!
very hard professor, helpful but sometimes he can insult you. He thinks he is the best. Don't ever take him
He's one of the most passionate teachers I've ever had. You can tell that he absolutely LOVES the subject, and he wants you to love it too. It's an advanced writing course, so you'll be writing a new essay every week, and sometimes two. He's very precise about what he wants, but there are chances to revise papers to get a higher grade. Take.
This is a true college level course one where youre challenged and made to think so hard you hurt. Changed my view perception of the world and gained deep insight into todays economic systems and their problems. Was finally difficult class for me and i have a 3.9. Looooved it!
Nice professor...extremely passionate about economics. Assigns online quizzes and homework assignments weekly but they usually help your grade. 2 exams and a final. Overall, very good professor. I recommend taking him!
Amazing teacher, easily one of the best I have ever had. Definitely take his courses. Easy, Learn A Lot, Really Nice Guy.
Best professor at TU, if not the entire state. A really great guy who teaches you a lot while keeping class interesting. Extremely helpful, explains everything multiple times. Should definetley take him ateast once during your time at Towson.GREAT!!
If your looking to get just the GenEd credits done may not a great idea because hes alot of work but if your an econ or business major he is seriously a great teacher, if you study for the tests, goto class, and do the one page paper things its a fairly easy A/B
He is a great professor ever. He really knows his subject and willing to help students. But, you have many things to do like Aplia. You might be stressed out depending on which classes you are taking together with. Honestly, I was. Take him if you are business and econ major. But make sure you have assignments to do before each class. Go to class.
He really knows his subject. Definitely, one of the best prof. at Towson; however, there are so many things to do such as Aplia. You usually have to take online quiz before every class. So I felt like being holded by doing the assignment especially during the weekend.
This man loves economics and freedom/open markets. Read the book, take notes in class, do the aplia and you should get an A. Highly recommend Baetjer if you want to walk away from the course a smarter person. One of the best econ teachers.
An excellent, dedicated professor. Though he is a libertarian and does advocate that position, he does offer other points of view and respects different opinions. I myself am not a libertarian and he was always gracious to me. He is excited about teaching economics and I was always able to speak to him after class. Take him for micro and comp econ.
Although he really likes the subject, he gives way too much work. The class is too much work to get a good grade in. I would NOT recommend taking him.
This man is extremely enthusiastic about economics. He is a good teacher, but a difficult grader. There is a lot of work to do including online quizzes, and online disscusion for the honors section. You have to go to class, and read the book. Take the class if you're interested in econ, but be prepared to think and do some extra work.
I took baetjer for econ 203 and then again for econ 323. I will probably take another class with him. He is such a good teacher. He's so passionate about what he does. He's very open to debating topics and loves to hear students opinions. By far my favorite teacher at towson. Very hard teacher though. Work load is a lot but interesting and worth it.
Best teacher ive ever had! Extremely helpful and fun! Obviously loves his job!
Great teacher!
Favorite teacher in my 3 semesters. Loves his job and wants to help students really understand. Grade made of 3 tests, about four 1/2 page responses, and online mult choice questions. I highly recomend him. Studying for tests is a must but he gives excellent guides fromt the book. He talks very quickly the entire class, but deff a fun class.
I didn't like his class and I had enjoyed ECON 202 when I took it a semester prior to him. Hes very hard because he gives a lot of extra work with those online quizzes and he made me feel stupid a couple times when he calls out random names in class. Hes very knowledgable about the subject but he doesn't really teach the subject well.
Great teacher, easy class. Just do your short online homework every week and if you do ok on your midterm and final you will get an easy B or higher.
The best teacher I have ever had.. Gives every student the time of day, knows what he's talking about, and loves what he does... Take him!
Very enthusiastic about his class. Would recommend to anyone interested in Economics classes.
HE IS AWESOME! He is one of the best professors I have had here at Towson so far. I hated econ before this class. He makes sure you understand things and gives you alot of opportunities to bring up your grade... this class takes time.. but it is really interesting and you learn alot about the world. DEFINATLEY TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!!
Definitely my favorite class//teacher so far in my life. Makes everything very clear, and tests aren't hard, so long as you STUDY. Not reading will be an ultimate fail. Do the work, and you can find an A
This is one of those professors you remember for the rest of your life. i took him 3 semesters ago and he's still my favorite. i cant even remember the professors im taking now. hes a fantastic professor and i learned more from him then i would have by three professors. loves his work and loves to teach. makes a borring subject interesting. takehim
If you are interested in what Ron Paul has to say, you will love Prof Baetjer's class. He is a libertarian who favors the Austrian school of economics. He is also a very energetic teacher who opened my eyes to a lot in life. My view on politics totally changed after taking his classes, even though he doesn't preach about politics. Very educating.
this is on e of the best professors you will ever have...i strongly suggest anyone take him...I was not sure econ would be interesting , but prof baetjar opened my eyes to so many different new ideas...i again would strongly suggest that anyone take him!!
Perhaps the best professor I have ever had.. Great guy! You will learn so much... This class should be mandatory! ITs that good!
Baejters version of UB's Brownstiens class, uses brownstiens txt. Great Class, Will have you thinking. He is very passionate and helpful. the more you talk, the mor he likes you. VERY HARD GRADER. 2 10 page papers, with NO TOPIC assigned. he expects a lot. Will give you 2 grades on each, (low and hi) and lets you re-write bad papers.
very enthusiastic which makes it easier to learn. gives real life examples to help those who dont understand, always making sure that people get the information.tons of review before the final, online part of the class is not expected to be done expertly.
Pretty nice class. It was honors so it is obviously more work than 201. He really works with the students to do what is best for them. Online Aplia assignments were annoying but helpful. Im an econ major and i thought this class was pretty easy...nock on wood. I would recommend him highly! He loves econ and is way into it!
He is by far the best professor. Very enthusiastic and passionate on course topics. Go to class then you'll get a great understanding from his lively examples and skit
Awesome professor. He is very clear with the material and has a very obvious passion for helping people learn. It's pretty adorable to watch him get excited over something/ use profanity when talking about Congress.
He rocks!
I learned SO much in this class. Dr. Baetjer is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. He's enthusiastic about the topic, has different methods of teaching to help the students understand certain concepts, and is overall very nice and a cool dude. Work is challenging but I think everyone should take at least one of his classes! :)
great professor! very interesting classes and a fair grader.
Best teacher I've had since high school. He knows his stuff, is opinionated, but not in an overbearing or pompous way. He's the man.
Awesome teacher, makes concepts very clear. Definetly take him.
He's a great professor, take him, you will learn a lot of things about economics.
Awsome teacher! Explains things very clear! If your not good at econ then study hard! Its a lot of common sense. He is bias so dont let him confince you of all of his opions. Most of them make sense though. Do all the assignments and study for B. Study extra hard for an A. Btoh are obtainable. I highly recommend him!
Great Professor! Extremely passionate. It is a very interactive class. You can't just sit in the back and not participate. Explains economics really well but you will have to work hard for an A. His views are radical but very interesting. He is a nice and compassionate person. One of the best professors I've had at Towson. You will learn a lot!
BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!! Kinda hyper but he's really funny and LOVES what he does. Two tests, a couple of short 1-page papers, and a final. Also, online quizzes every week that are kind of annoying but they help you a lot with the tests. Definitely take him if you can!!!
Awesome professor, attendance is mandatory, and is definitely needed to do well in this class. Really loves what he is teaching. Weekly quizzes, a lot of reading, and lots of short papers. If you do the work, you will do well.
HARD! He is a great prof Knows/LOVES econ. However, he is constantly learning and didn't have the course finely tuned. Forgets that you have 4-5 other classes and econ isnt your entire world. Very hard grader. If you LOVE econ take it. Or if you love tons of work. Personally, I regret taking it. He is great though. Also, you need tons of books
This was the third class I'd taken with Dr. Baetjer; he's easily the best professor I've ever had. He sincerely wants people to learn the material and do well in his classes, though you'll need to work hard to earn good grades.
The material is really hard, but Howard is a great professor. He really wants you to learn, and he is passionate about economics. You really have to stay on top of things, and do all of your homework on Aplia, if not, you'll fall behind. If you have to take this course, take it with him.
This is the best professor I have ever had. So passionate and enthusiastic about the subject! Take this man! He is the BEST!
I have had him for 202, 313, and 322. He is an excellent professor. I have read through his negatives on here, and it is obvious that they were posted by lazy idiots (sp? much). He is hard and expects you to do the readings, but if you are serious about learning, and not just doing what mommy and daddy expect of you, he will push you too succeed.
I became passionate about economics after I took his class. He is so much fun and uses so many examples so that you can understand all of the concepts. He is so helpful and so passionate. By far my favorite professor ever at Towson.
He is a good professor and is really passionate about what he teaches. You have 2 tests and a final, and these online homeworks and short papers. The papers are really hard you will never get an A on them. He will tell you his tests are straightforward but there is always a twist to every single question and you will fail no matter how hard you stu
He is a good professor, but his class is really hard. Somehow I did get A's on all my papers, but I failed all of the tests. You have to constantly be on top of everything. I got a C+ in the class, probably because I showed up and made an effort. He really wants you to get something out of the class, and is so passionate about teaching.
great guy, learned much more getting a c+ in his class than i would have from getting an A in an easy class.. if your about learning and working hard take him, for an easy A look elswhere
I think he is the best. He helped me a lot.
Professor Baetjer is extremely passionate about his field. He is an extremely interesting professor and you will learn a lot by attending his course. He generally teaches through open-discussion. His class involves about 10-15 quizzes that are based on readings, 8 papers (1-2 pages) also based on readings and a comprehensive final. Recommended.
If you're looking to get an easy A - STAY AWAY!! Easily the hardest class I've ever taken. A quiz almost every class, papers due once a week on endless readings. 6 books required. 8 hours outside reading per week. He gets confused about the topics, course not outlined clearly. Final is essay format with a possible 25 questions. VERY HARD CLASS
Professor Baetjer was the best. He is really enthusiastic about what he teaches and is really approachable when in need of help. Just watch out for grammar when writing his papers he is really strict about that.
An amazing professor! He will teach and repeat until you fully understand. He appreciates people that participate. Tests are pretty straight forward. Not necessarily an easy A though. Very enthusiastic about what he teaches. Best teacher I have ever came across.
I took Mr. Baetjer 313 & 322. Going into the class I had slim interest in finance. Since his class I've graduated and I now have a career in finance and STILL use his concepts all the time. Not only is he a great teacher who will inspire you to believe in 'no bs economics', but he's a great guy who worries more about what you learn than your grade.
Super helpful. Really passionate about teaching economics. Knowledgeable, but be warned you are being taught a lot of his opinions (but he makes you aware of this). I thought this class was super easy but this may be because I took macro first. Definitely should take him.
OK - If you are up for a challenge or want to learn a lot you need to take baetjer. BUT I warn you - DO NOT fall behind. You will be reading roughly 1500-2000 pages over the course of this class. He is an awesome professor who's more than willing to go out of his way to help you - but you need to also help yourself. His expectations are very high!!
Definitely take him! He's fun and interesting and very very into his topic. He gets very excited. If you're looking for an easy A, I'd avoid him because he is quite difficult. There's a quiz every week, several papers and one monster final exam. If you're looking to actually learn from an excellent teacher, take him!
Great prof. Genuinely interested in both the subject and students. I'd take him again in a heartbeat if I could. There's a lot of work involved in the class, but you truly do get out of it however much work you put in.
Very good teacher. You will very much enjoy going to his class
Baetjer is passionate and very knowledgeable on his topics. A really great professor, if you want to learn something take him. If you want an easy A take someone else.
Very nice and enthusiastic. Always willing to help and spend time explaining things. A lot of reading but it is very interesting stuff.
Take him! He LOVES economics and so badly wants everyone to understand what's going on. A good amount of work but if you go to class and try hard you'll have an A or B.
Excellent professor. He has very libertarian/anarcho capitalist views which make the class all the more interesting. If only he taught macro!
One of the best teachers I have ever had in my entire life. He has motivated to change my major to ECON. Tough class for an intro class but if you work hard and focus you can get an A
Awesome teacher who I look forward to having for other classes
This professor loves his job and he is very, VERY good at it. Class seemed intimidating at first but soon became my favorite (changed my major to economics). Read the syllabus, work hard, do the assignments, and THINK. Baetjer makes economics come alive, if you listen to what he has to say. Buy the book and do the online quizzes, they are helpful.
One of the nicest, most passionate professors you will ever meet. The class is tough, but getting a B by taking this course with Dr. Baetjer is way more fulfilling than getting an A. TAKE THE CLASS!
One of the best teachers I have ever had. He has a masters in english, so he is a big help in improving your writing skills in addition to economics. Do the homework and go to class and you'll be fine, especially since the tests are the same ones he uses with the regular section.
The BEST professor ever! He is extremely passionate and his classes are always interesting. It is definitely not an easy A, but if you work hard you will be able to get a B! He wants you to succeed! Make sure you follow the syllabus bc he won't remind when homework assignments are due! A lot of the hw is on Aplia (super helpful for exams) TAKE HIM
By far the best professor I've had. Very passionate about the subject and more than willing to help. It is not an easy class but you learn a lot and he makes class interesting. Go to class and study and you'll do fine.
Dr. Baetjer... What a guy. He is by far the coolest professor I have ever met in my life. Wow, he knows his stuff like the back of his hand. I mean, this guy literally lives to teach and will slap you on the back for a job well done. Oh my gosh, he changed my life for the better. I was unsure of what to do upon coming to college. He changed that.
LOVED Prof. Baetjer. Classes were interesting. he's very helpful and truly cares that you know the info well. Exams are not easy but hw and reading assignments aren't bad at all. It is highly recommended that you attend every class and do all the hw's (pay attn to the syllabus!), hated aplia. Def not an impossible class. Take him!!
Great Professor. 2nd time i've had him, and i'd take him again if i could.
Dr. Baetjer is an amazing professor. I started out the course uninterested and now I think about economics all the time. You will learn so much information from Dr. Baetjer that will show you the world differently. I highly recommend taking Dr. Baetjer for a course.
I will say that professor Baetjer is great. However, I would not recommend taking his class at all if you are a slacker. Aplia was okay but his tests were impossible for me to do well on. His class was okay in the begining but by the end of the semester I found it extremely hard to sit through and by then i had loss complete interest in the class.
Great professor that really wants his students to do well. A huge portion of the grade was online aplia assignments, which is an easy way to pad your grade. He keeps you awake and makes the class interesting as well.
I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this man.He almost convinced me to pursue a degree in economics. You learn SO much! But,beware it is ALOT of work. And, ALL his tests are cumulative. But, he does accept late work sometimes. He grades strictly. If you like to gain knowledge, and you aren't lazy take him. If you're looking for an easy A, this is not the class for you.
Best professor I have ever had! He really makes economics interesting. I walked into his classroom not caring about economics but I am now considering a major in economics. He will challenge you but not beyond your abilities. He makes you think in new ways. In writing his papers write clearly, he does grade tough on assignments. I recommend!!
Really passionate guy who knows what he's taking about and cares deeply about it. He's very helpful and makes everything very understandable. If you are going to take an economics class, take Baetjer.
WORST TEACHER! HE THINKS HES TEACHING AN ENGLISH CLASS. he's not its an economics class but yet he expects you to be able to write like you're an english major which most of us are not!
The whole class is writing except one final exam. He is the hardest grader I have ever come across and makes it impossible to get an A. He is a great professor and gives interesting lectures but his grading is brutal and you will probably regret taking his class.
Awesome professor!!! The class is difficult but defiantly worth the effort if you are a business or economics major. His class will prepare you well for macro also. I wish he would teach more econ classes because I would take them just to have him as a teacher. Very friendly and makes sure everyone knows what he is talking about before he moves on!
Tough class, great professor. Will challenge you to succeed, but this is college and you need to be challenged. Not an easy-A class, be prepared to read and write a lot. Really tough grader, BS writing is simply not acceptable for this course.
Baetjer is a quirky, passionate man full of knowledge. The only problem is he has trouble getting what he needs to say across, and wastes valuable "scarce" class time mulling over his thoughts. If I didn't have to take Micro with him, I wouldn't. However, if you are interested in free markets, HE WILL BE YOUR IDOL!
He means well. wants you to learn. However he runs class as if it is your only class. The work load is high with short papers and homework. He has a tendency to go on rants about his economic opinions and it becomes annoying. He forgets a lot and has a tendency to lose papers. I have learned great dealfrom this class, but wouldn't take him again.
I would have received an A in the class but I didn't study for one second for the final because of a car accident issue. The work load is not too much. The other people are retarded. Yes he grades on grammar but oh well, not a big deal. His lectures are awesome and I love his enthusiasm. The online requirement are long but don't hurt you if failed.
Excellent teacher, very passionate and knowledgeable. Not an easy A but if you do the coursebook and read the explanations of the problems you get wrong on Aplia than you will be prepared for the tests. The people below are bums he doesn't require much at all, papers are 3/4 a page. I don't see how you could complain about that, its college.
One of the best professors. He gives "essays" that are less than a page long. His tests are easy and his class is interesting! He gets you thinking, knows your name, and teaches through class discussion. My only complaint is that he uses Aplia which is expensive and stupid. I also regret buying the textbook. I used it once.
My favorite professor that I have taken to date. Extremely clear on what will be on the test and is fair when grading quizzes and homework. "Essays" are given from time to time but are less than a page long. Would highly recommend him he's a great guy and a good teacher.
As long as you show up and engage in class and keep up with the online hw you will do ok. Very easy to talk to. Stickler for grammer though. made economics interesting for once. Mandatory attendance.
Impossible! He is by far the toughest grader I have EVER had. Everyone drops, essay every week, which would be fine if it was attached to a book size article every week as well. Oh and the articles, not easy! He grades he's essays as if he is teaching a English major. I read these comments before but NEVER expected it to be this bad. Don't take!
Worst professor ever, everyone drops this class, you can try to take him but I promise you will drop also.
Baetjer is Great! He is really passionate about his subject and will keep you on your toes. You might not get a perfect grade in his class cz micro is not the easiest GenEd, but you will learn a lot otherwise. I highly recommend his class if you're not a sucker for grades (which are easy to get if u work), but really believe in learning something.
He is a really good and helpful professor. You can learn a lot of knowledge that can connected with the real life. However, if you want to get A in his class, it is too hard.
With out a doubt the worst teacher I have had in my life, in any class. Steer clear at all cost.
Baetjer is a great guy. He is very kind and genuinely wants his students to learn. However, there is WAY too much work. Almost daily online assignments, weekly essays, multiple reading assignments, online postings, and difficult test. If you want an A, do not take this class.
I loved this class! He cares a lot about his students and cares even more about the subject he is teaching. I learned so much from his lectures and assignments; I'm switching my concentration to Economics because of him! He is completely open to all questions and different opinions, plus he will take the time to correct any mistakes he made. 1010
Professor Baetjer is a harsh grader, but I learned so much from him. 1-2 pages paper weekly + 1 final exam + participation your grade. If you want an easy class, don't take him. But if you want to learn things, he is the professor you want to have
He knows what he's talking about, it's just sometimes hard for him to get that across. If you don't get it see him at his office hours. He's really helpful.
So, first of all, Baetjer is awesome. He made ECON interesting to me. He is very libertarian and gets quite excited about his beliefs, but he will never try to push his ideas on you. There's a lot of Aplia and short paper (like less than a page) assignments. He used to be an english teacher, so he grades kind of hard. But he's totally worth it.
Howard is a Great Prof. Makes you work for it but stands out among all other Business Prof. at Towson as the best for sure. Very clear lectures, if you're a visual learner then he's your guy.
Very inspirational and motivating teacher, which is tough to find. He will ask you to read and write a lot, but most are motivated to impress. He can be strict at times, but you will quickly learn his guidelines and how he likes things to be organized. Read a chapter a week and write a 1-2 page reflection that turn into midterm questions
Coolest professor I've had at TU so far. He is extremely personable, his tests are difficult, but if you read the textbook, come to class, and keep up with the online homework, you should do fine.
Assigns a lot of online homework, like 3-4 assignments a week. This is along with papers almost every week. Super harsh grader on papers, never gives anyone an A. Rarely reviews for exams. He's nice and super passionate about his job, but I would have just taken another professor and gotten an easy A.
He is an amazing professor. He is very interested in what he is teaching, he's passionate and it really transfers over into his teaching. Baetjer is very helpful, and he's a handsome old man(: If you are trying to learn in his class, he will notice and take the extra time to make sure that you understand the material. BEST GUYPROFESSOR EVER!
Yes, take him. An absolutely excellent professor who is extremely passionate about economics. He makes micro-economics so interesting which makes it way easier to grasp. Economics is not my major, but I really enjoyed this class. Definitely one of Towson's best professors. Gem.
A lot of reading... However, classes are extremely rewarding
One of the most caring teachers i have ever had. Really takes his time to explain everything if people do not understand. Lets you turn in things late for half credit. Only bad part about the class is the online Aplia assignments. He does not care if you do not come to class
He is soo interested in economics you can tell he really has a passion for what he teaches. Lots of aplia online quizzes on readings but they aren't to difficult, the topics can be a little challenging but if you are willing to put in the effort it is worth it!! There are 8-10 papers that are a page a piece. Grammar is important. Hard but worth it.
Very passionate professor. If you are a visual learner his lectures are great, he uses the white board and encourages class discussion. Helpful professor he will answer your questions thoroughly. He does count grammar highly, if you struggle with grammar expect lower grades on writing assignments. If you do the work the exams are straight forward
Just don't take him. Yeah, he's passionate about economics and teaches it with a lot of excitement but abandon all hope of getting a decent grade with him. I've gotten A's in all my writing classes (upper and lower level) and I'm very good in Economics but I still failed this class because he thought my papers weren't good enough.
I had to drop his class because I was doing so poorly. He's a really nice guy but he isn't worth losing a good GPA over.
He is a great professor, so interesting he has convinced me to make economics my major. He is incredibly passionate and one of the most knowledgeable professors I have ever met. The topics are interesting and the work is not overly demanding. Exams are easy if you pay attention and do all the aplia work.
If you are willing to go to class and do the work you'll love Baetjer. He's an amazing teacher, but not an easy A
AWESOME professor. He is very passionate about the subject, and somehow managed to get the class very eager to learn about economics. Definitely recommend everyone to take him. I am not a ECON major, but heard he was great and did not disappoint.
AMAZING. Passionate about the subject and LOVES teaching. Even if you fail his class you can't hate him. His class will make you work, not an easy A, but worth it to get to have him for a semester. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you're willing to work and want to really learn. Short papers, Aplia every week, 3 cumulative tests.
I LOVE HIM. Do not take this class if you don't want to work for a good grade. WORTH TAKING if you really want to learn. He is AMAZING, he loves his job, and he wants you to succeed. Literally jumps around the room he loves econ so much. Would take another class with him just to have him. Weekly aplia, 3 tests, short papers. DAD CRUSH.
The BEST Professor I've ever had and he's very passionate about what he teaches. He makes the class enjoyable, Attendance is optional but I recommend going.
Awesome professor, he is enthusiastic about the topic and loves teaching it. Online homework is rough sometimes, but it doesn't count for much of the grade. Only 3 exams. all cumulative. You NEED to go to class or you will fall behind. Lectures are 50% of the info you need. Takes a lot of effort to catch on to the material, but easy after that
Professor Baetjer was easily one of the best professors I have ever had. He was tough, but he really wanted every single person to understand the concepts. Homework on Aplia, short papers, and 3 tests. He is so passionate about economics that it makes you want to be passionate too. I actually decided to major in economics after taking his class.
Worst teacher I've ever had. When it came time to curving my grade he did not respond to my emails or anything. Never take him for anything.
I never saw a professor so passionate about a subject in my life!!! And he was willing to work with you on understanding concepts BUT you were going to work hard for that A.
When I picture a great professor I picture Prof. Beatjar. He cares about al his students and will do anything to make sure you pass. His teaching style is amazing and his humor is very entertaining. A lot of Aplia (online hw) which can be annoying at times but it really only helps you understand the material. I'd take him again any day.
Great lectures.
Dr. Baetjer is the best professor ever. Simply unmatched in charisma and energy. He is clearly compassionate about economics and conveys that in his lectures. He changed my perspective on economics and the minimum wage. He genuinely cares that you understand the material and wants you to succeed.
Professor Baetjer is passionate about economics and really cares about his students. The class requires a lot of reading, but the material is fairly easy to understand, and if it is hard to grasp, Professor Baetjer does a great job explaining concepts clearly. He grades short papers pretty harshly, but he is always willing to help and offer redos.
Hardest grader I've ever had. Usually I get pretty good grades on papers but I can barely get a C- on them in this class. Paper due every week. He expects you to already know everything it seems. Nice guy but would never take a class with him again. I feel like I'm not learning anything during the lectures; they're all over the place.
Professor Baetjer is absolutely AMAZING. He is so inspirational and an awesome professor. He will make sure you absolutely understand the material before he moves on and is always willing to help after class or in his office. Micro is a challenging concept but he makes it so easy, understandable, and fun. TAKE HIM. Such a great guy.
Baetjer is the coolest professor I've had at Towson. He loves economics and really enjoys teaching the subject. If you go to class and try, it's not bad at all. Baetjer is a great dude and wants you to do well. I'd take him again any day.
Baetjer is amazing. He is really into the topics we discuss in class and is extremely knowledgable. For once at Towson, he's not one of those professors who have written a book and require it to be read for the class. Very particular about our shorts papers, and aplia is $$ but perfect if you're majoring in business/econ bc you'll understand it all
If you're looking for someone to easily pass microeconomics, this is your guy. He takes various measures to ensure his students don't fail. I wish I could say the same for students getting As. I know it's picky, but I was a bit disappointed when I received an A- at the end of the semester. His tests and the final are not very difficult.
Baetjer was awesome! Genuinely cares and wants his students to do well. I was a little nervous about econ going in but he made me love it by the end of the semester. Probably one of the best professors TU has to offer. If you have a chance to take a class with him do it!
I loved this guy. He loves micro so much, he jumps up and down in class he gets so excited about it. He gives extra credit opportunities. Focus on the graphs he teaches in class and the tests will be a breeze. Take him! He inspired me to major in economics.
Very great speaker and interesting topics! Good teacher, would take again.
Best teacher, very recommended
This is a professor I will always remember because he's genuinely passionate about economics and really knowledgeable. I enjoyed this class because he uses interesting examples and makes class fun. At the same time, he can be a tough grader and definitely makes you work for it
He is an amazing professor and wants you to get a good understanding of microeconomics. He's also a by the book type of professor so the grade you earn is the grade you get . I would recommend people to only take him if your willing to learn not for an easy A.
Prof. Baetjer loves economics and is always very excited to spread his knowledge. He's extremely libertarian and can push his beliefs on students while allowing them to critique his opinions. There are weekly blackboard quizzes based on readings every week that are only worth 2 points. You also have to pay almost $100 for an online website to do hw
Hes a good instructor. Hes clearly in love with economics and will always argue for consumers. Which makes me wanna know why we had to pay almost $200 in books and online courses!!!!! Anyway, cool guy. Just go to class and you should be alright.
He is by far the best professor I have ever had. He truly knows what he is talking about and is able to explain things 100 different ways until it makes sense to everyone. Highly recommend taking a class with him
Professor Baetjer is quite a character. He is a libertarian and has some really radical views, but he is fair and is always open to debate. He does the subject matter justice and really cares about what he is teaching. It isn't necessarily an easy class, but you will get a lot out of it and can definitely pass it if you do the work assigned.
He is an amazing teacher and very enthusiastic about teaching. If you are the type of student to read and watch everything the teacher tells you to read and watch then you will do fine. If you are a student that is used to getting a good grade by doing the bare minimum, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.
Good professor, the material was just difficult. The only things he graded were 3 exams and maybe 3 small quizzes. the way he worded his exams were very confusing. I personally would just find another professor
He's funny and passionate about the subject and his class is definitely challenging. I felt that sometimes he was vague and there was not a definite answer or maybe there could've been multiple correct answers but if you don't agree with him your answers will be wrong. How well you do during class doesn't matter, what matters are the tests.
He knows what he is talking about and is very passionate about it. Attendance isn't mandatory but I recommend you go because a lot of the content he talks about is on the tests. Some negatives are that he never posts grades and the wording on his exams are confusing. Pay attention in class and do the work and you'll be fine
Baetjer is the man, the class is very interesting and engaging because of the way he teaches. Definitely ur guy if you really want to learn something. However the class is difficult. 2 test and a 2 page essay due at the end of every week. He also a tough grader and if your writing skills are not good you may struggle a bit but I recommend him
I have zero complaints about this professor and I would take him again in a heartbeat. He is so passionate about what he does and truly enjoys teaching. The homework assignments are mostly instructional videos so that lectures can be focused more on application. It can be a lot of work, but it's definitely manageable and the tests are very fair.
Professor Baetjer is a fantastic professor. This was my first semester with business classes b/c I switched my major. He made topics very easy to understand and is very passionate about microecon. Take him if you have the chance!
If you have a chance to take this professor, trust me you will not regret it. He is probably one of the best professors in Towson and his classes go by really fast. After you take this class, you will probably consider economics as a major and if you put in effort, you will get a better grade than you expected.
He his hands down the worst professor I had for Econ. His rating are high, but don't let that fool you. He gives two question quizzes every week based on anything random from 4 videos he assigns you to watch, so if you get one wrong, you fail it. No extra credit, no curves, no textbook to reference back to. He encourages many students to withdraw.
HE MAKES U WATCH 2 HOURS WORTH OF VIDEOS EVERY DAY. these reviews are not true. He is a nice guy but expects entirely toooooo much. There's also a quiz on a random video every week. He acts like this is the only class you have. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
This class was not hard but it did require studying, don't be fooled by the easy A comments unless you study in every class. He's extremely passionate and will show you the importance of Econ. He has 2 question quizzes, so make sure to do the reading/watch video before class. He gives you a study guide before each exam, take notes, you'll be fine.
Update: I wrote a review for Fall 2019, but I just thought I'd share that I changed my major to Economics a semester later and Professor Baetjer was definitely a big inspiration for that. Take him if you get the chance, you won't regret it.
You're being graded on a professor's opinion of an economic theory evaluating another economic theory. That's how I felt the entire class. Whenever I used quotes in my paper that wasn't mentioned in class, I was always discredited. Having your paper marked "???" and "X" everywhere isn't fun. Unconventional thinker? Don't take this class.
Helped me find out that Economics was my true passion. His lectures are fun, he is extremely passionate, and if you put in basic effort you will succeed. He cares about you actually learning the concepts, and if you simply pay attention during class, and do the assignments, you will understand the concepts and do well on exams. I love this guy!!
Honestly one of the best professors I have had. He actually cares about his students and loves economics. This was the first Econ class I have taken and he made everything very clear. lots of videos but they help out a lot and they are very quick. he references them in his lecture so you should watch them. all around awesome guy
He is such a great professor! He truly cares for his students as he always wants to make sure his students understand the concept. You definitley need to go to the lectures to understand deeper within the hw so get a better understanding. He gives mini 2 point quizzes before class based on the hw which can be hard sometimes (get a 1/2 mostly)
entire class was based on a book that argues one point of view, if you disagreed or challenged anything in class he was quick to discredit with evidence from the book. He grades entirely too harsh claiming that "we never learned how to write properly" but then his idea of feedback is covering the paper with ??? then gave us a 15 page final
hard class but great professor
his class wasn't AWFUL, but his teaching methods aren't useful for someone who has their own opinions. He is very "my way or the highway" his perspective is the right perspective and his tests are hard and lengthy. The weekly homework isnt awful, but it is alot.
In order to do well in any courses taught by Dr. Baetjer, highly-developed writing skills are vital. If you are a poor writer, he will let you know on the papers he returns to you. He is eager to discuss and debate economic thought/policy with anyone of a different opinion than him, but come prepared if you choose to do so.
This professor seems nice at first but then he begins to talk about his single life and how wealthy he is. He has no kids so he doesn't get college kids. He assigns videos for students to watch and expects student to take a quiz based on the videos. If you fail or don't pass, forget about trying to raise you grade. He is rude and inconsiderate
His lectures can be entertaining, but the content rarely strays from something similar to the Libertarian initiative. Libertarianism(.org) will be your go to. He doesnt foster original thinking nor does he encourage opposition to his, as he refers to it, radical ideas.
Do not take this Professor if you are not a good test taker, tests are hard and the exams are super long. I was struggling to fill in all the answers. He does not count attendance but randomly calls on you through out class all the time. I really do not recommend this class- he isnt understanding of circumstances outside of his classroom.
He is the only passionate professor I've had and he genuinely wants you to understand the material. You need to do the prep work and go to class to understand. Tests are kinda hard but he gives so much material to study and offers extra help. If you get the chance, take his class!
Professor Baetjer is awesome! You can tell economics is something he really cares about. He is very libertarian buuut he doesnt try to force it on you and is open to hearing other perspectives. Tests are worth a lot but theyre really easy if you pay attention. He also makes an effort to know his students. Overall really great!
If you take this class with this teacher you will look back at this post and regret it with every breath in you. He is the worst teacher and makes the class up and random skits and work as he goes. Imagine bill nye and Joe Biden had some psycho baby and that's what this guy is for real forget this class don't take it!
There are a lot of online videos and reading you need to do before each class. He is extremely particular about how you answer questions on midterms and will take points off whenever he can. He also doesn't tell you what your grade is until the last two weeks of the semester. He says attendance is optional, but contacted my advisor after missing 2
I dropped this class very early due to the fact you have to write two page papers every week that are single spaced and he is a very tough grader with a very biased view. I am not an ECON major or minor so thankfully I was able to drop this class with no problem. He gives good lectures but how the grades are set up makes this class very hard.
Honestly, he was not all in all a horrible professor but he is all over the place. I would ask him about my grade and he would never know. He would tell me to calculate every single assignment he's given us and find it out. He also does not give study guides so good luck. Don't take him.
He cares about the material but papers are extremely difficult.
This professor is discreditable because he does not honor his word on the grading criteria. Be careful with his "nice character" he does not care.
His Microeconomics class helped me see the world differently. Even though there's a lot of videos to watch as homework, he explains most of it again in class. The way he explains things is very straightforward with vocabulary that is easy to understand. The EdPuzzles are annoying though so watch the MRU videos before on the original site for help.
Dr. Baetjer was my favorite professor this semester. He interacted with all of his students and opened my eyes up to many new concepts. I like how he brought conversation into a mainly lectured course. The only problem with Dr. Bartjer is he does not put in any grades until finals week.
He's very passionate and knowledgable about the material but makes the class so boring. Assignments are 2 page papers due each week that he grades insanely hard making it nearly impossible to get a good grade. He cares a lot about his students but doesn't grasp how confusing assignments are and how hard he makes the papers.
Best professor i've ever had. Really cares for his students, and wants them to do well. If you don't understand something, stay after with him. He loves to help. His lectures are awesome, going into the year I was like I am gonna hate economics, but his lectures are so amazing and he's so good at his job - I have fallen in love with economics.
He is an amazing professor. He has really good energy and will make the class fun for you. He gives great feedback and strongly encourages you to participate. He's an older guy but nothing but his appearance suggests that. He really knows what he's talking about and tries to pass his knowledge down to his students.
I work on a submarine so I'm glad that professor baetjer stands so tall for libertarian economics. It's about time that someone turns the tables on the liberals. Give them a taste of "academic freedom" keep up the great work
Overall Professor Baetjer was really cool, he kept the lectures interesting by relating every concept to some sort of example. He talks a lot but the content isn't that difficult. The tests were kind of difficult but if you pay attention and study, you should pass this course. I recommend taking Baetjer if you need an econ credit.
The teacher is knowledgeable, but learning from him has been challenging. Transitioning from high school to college, I sought guidance on grading and was told to "figure it out." He is unresponsive to emails, strict about spelling and decimal points, and reluctant to address classmates' questions.
