WORST TEACHER EVER DO NOT TAKE!!!! DOES NOT KNOW THE MATERIAL, DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TEACH! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Ok Teacher. He is pretty nice. HW is never collected, but good if you do it. Most of the time you are teaching yourself the material. But its easy stuff that college students should know how to do anyway. it's just about looking up information. Class was easy for me. He even lets you drop a test. I got an A in this class.
I thought it was pretty easy. A lot of research to do online, but easy research. We did an podcast project that was A LOT of fun and the group paper was very easy. He lets you drop an exam too. Good class. i learned a lot

whoa I have no idea what that person is talking about. The class was EASY. Most of it was research and looking things up online or on programs. The first test was really easy. He even let us take an exam over. So we all got A's on one of the exams. And he lets you drop one. I passed with an A.
For the first two weeks of this class, I still couldn't figure out what the point of this class was. Although Forman is a very outgoing and nice professor, he is a bit disorganized in assigning homework (not mandatory) and explaining what he expects out of the assignments. He has a tendency to wander off topic and talk about absolutely, nothing.
Class is random, grading is not clear does not specify what you will be graded on. Tests arent bad if you study but grading is hard to judge. Would suggest taking a diffferent teacher if you looking to get a good grade.
Forman is a decent professor, but a really good guy. He really wants you to do well. Tests are simple, just do all of the classwork and you'll be fine. I would reccomend
AWFUL...very full of himself. Extremely unorganized. If his class is the only section avaliable...WAIT TIL NEXT SEMSTER!!!
First you feel the subject is so vague and the teacher is unorganized, however it is actually an Easy class. How awesome is that you can redo all your assignments and get a better grade! You need to be a little comfortable with Excel and do the class exercises => be fine for the whole semester. Got problem, talk to him.
Everyone is right... he is very disorganized but has an easy workload. You can work on assignments in class b/c theres never really a set lecture. Helps out if you have questions. Drops lowest test score and you can re-do HW assignments for a better grade. Got an A.
Dr. Forman is a really nice guy. I actually learned a lot in his class. He's not very demanding which I think makes students do better and he cares. I never bought the book and **probably** got an "A" or "B". It's helpful but his slides covered most of the material. He gives a review for the exams. I'm hoping to take him for more marketing.
He is one of my favorite professors here! I took the class over the summer so it was fast paced. There were daily quizzes but they were easy and helped you remember the material. I would recommend him to anyone taking Mktg 379.
I took him over the summer and I loved it. He?s a GREAT teacher just read the book which is simple and the chapters are short. He?s has vocab quizzes in the beginning of class and he has class reviews before every exam. We had two Midterms and he dropped the lowest one and offered an extra credit term paper. He?s a cool guy he?s helpful and always
One of my favorite teachers. Very kind, helpful and he wants you to succeed. Take his class. Take notes on the steps to complete computer programs because you need to know that for the test= take notes and review so that you are quick and sharp getting to answer test questions. Loved this class! Dr. Forman is awesome!
This teacher is awesome!!! If you're going to take a teacher, you definitely want to take Professor Forman. His class is definitely interesting and he makes it enjoyable. If you want to learn anything about Marketing, then he is the teacher for you. I got an "A" in his class.
Wow what an excellent professor. 3 exams(100points) drops loweest exam and quiz, attendance and participation 100 points, 60 points for quiz and 2 article assignments, 100 points. He aslo gives chance to re-submit the articles for better grade. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM FOR ALL MKTG CLASSES. Got a "B" in his class.
Very Helpful and caring. Drops the lowest exam and quiz. He does that to every class he teaches. WHAT AN AWSOME PROFESSOR. You will hardly see any professor like him. Gives students PLENTY OF CHANCES TO MAKE UP THE GRADE. What else would anyone want besides this. Except for he is lazy in replying e-mails and sometimes assignments but he is nice.
One of the best marketing teachers at CSUF. First of all there are two field trips on this class that are fun and relate to class material. Second he drops the lowest quiz and midterm score! Quizes are from the reading, as are the tests. Ive had Dr. Forman twice and its a great class. Skim the chapters before class, participate and get an A
Yes, every word is true in these postings. He is very cool professor. Drops lowest exam and quiz, gives chances to make up for the written assignments. I dont think any other marketing professor does that. Got a "B" in his class and aslo taking him FOR sports marketing as well. He is a wonderful man. Therefore > Caring, kind and fair = Dr. Forman:)
what rubbish, gave me a "D" just by 69.9%. Beware people. he does not curves and will not roudn up your grade at any cost. I bet the person below me is Dr. Forman himself. Please do not take him at any cost.!!!
horrible professor..pls do not take him for any classes, he is hard and tough....take him at your peril....
People who complained about him are truly slakers and never work. Dr. Forman is the best professor that one can get in mktg dept. He is helpful, fair, care about students, honest and lasty FUNNY. People I recommend him taking for all your marketing classes if possible. He is best...
if you cant pass his class, you are the most incompetent human being...look over chapters before quizzes, skim over material before tests, and show up to class and you get a B. You should not be in college if you fail his classes!
Dr. Forman is the best in marketing dept. I would recommed to take him in any marketing class he is teaching in future. He is helpful, funny, brilliant in every way. Even though, this class was hard, Dr. Forman made it easy to understand. Would take him again for any mktg class :) Guys take him already would you !!
I took Mktg 351 in summer and this is an easy class to me. All you have to do is read, read and read. Quiz everyday but it's easy. An easy A summer class =)
Best professor at CSUF! Great project and easy going class. Forman really cares about his students. You should take him.
Class is a SUPER easy B, and a fairly easy A. Class consists of weekly quizzes, two midterms (drops the lowest, a final, and a group project. Make sure you have a good group for the proj. Class is VERY boring and useless, but you must attend for participation points. Overall, take this class if you need an easy class, but you won't learn ANYTHING.
The class was not at all what i expected. I have to say it was kind of a let down but a good professor. He was very unorganized at times but some of guest speakers were very interesting to listen to. make sure you get a good group because mine sucked and it made the projects suck!
not that interesting of a class. group proj sucked bc i had lazy ppl in my group and it brought me down from A to B bc of that. pretty easy class but not that interesting. dont need the book.
Slides helped
Prof.Forman is a great guy -- very fun -- makes makes everything clear. Took this class during summer & he let us drop a test. Definitely recommend him.
MKTG 351 - Introduction to Marketing. Took class over summer school and it was really easy. If you want to do well on the quizes, read the 1 page chapter summary in the back of the book right before the quizes. Tests are mainly definitions which can be found by skimming the test book. He goes over each chapter in class which is boring sometimes
Doesn't know marketing, complains about low income professor, missed two classes due to a car accident , couldn't make it up got an A on the final and D- for the class.
Prof. Forman is great he designs his classes very well and is incredibly helpful. One of the best teachers I've had ever. The tests can be a bit tricky even if you study hard for them but the majority of the material is common sense. Hates when people talk during his lectures
Forman is a cool guy, but his class was very lack luster. The class was very shallow in content, most of the concepts were almost no brainer. He docks you for not participating (which is fair), but the environment isnt conducive to discussion. If you want to grow as a MKTG major, I suggest you consider another course and challenge yourself.
Forman is very hard to pay attention to, but he tries to engage the class. His quizzes and exams are straight from the book. Don't bother studying his study guide if he provides one. His retail audit is very subjective so be sure to read his written guidelines and follow the directions.
Not hard but not easy. I currently have an A. This is all you need to do. 1) READ THE BOOK, all test questions are from the book, not lectures! 2) Follow his clear guidelines for the project which are posted. 3) Go to all classes, takes attendance... He Drops lowest midterm
READ READ READ! Put it this way, I didnt read got a 70% on first test. I read for the second and got a 94%! If you want a good grade read the book!
It can be an easy class if you read the book before each class like your supposed to. He gives weekly quizzes to make sure you are reading ahead and the exams are almost straight from the book.
Took this class over summer, got a B. There is a LOT of reading! Exams are based on the book, not just the powerpoints. There are pop quizzes as well. He drops the lowest quiz and lowest midterm exam, so that helps. Group project is a marketing plan. Get in with a good group of people. Overall, good instructor!
I got an A in this class, and the teacher was absolutely terrible. He claims to help and mentions you can visit him, which I have, but he makes it nearly impossible to get any type of usable feedback, or feedback whatsoever. His exams are not an accurate indicator of discussion, which is a WASTE of time. He is an embarrassment to teaching.
Professor is very passionate and gives real life examples to subject material. There are 6 quizzes but you get to drop one. Retail Audit has 3 parts which are due throughout the semester. 2 midterms but you get to drop the lowest and a final. No homework. Learned a lot and the professor is funny. Would recommend.
He is very strict about attendance, and you have to post comment on the blog every week. Quizzes is not look like in the chapter which he said to study. Tests are not easy. Sometimes he give another vocab of previous chapters
The quizzes are easy as long as you read the key words in the book. Make sure find the right teammates. the exams are fair. it is not easy to get a high grade. He deducted 2 points(10 total) in attendance even I came to class every time. So that my grade is 89.5. I don't like him but be honest you could take him if you just want to pass.
He's Ok. Took his class over the Summer. 5 Quizzes (drops the lowest) that are 50 points each, 2 Midterms (drops the lowest) that are 200 points, Group project 250 points, and Final is 250 points. Attendance 100 points. Extra Credit paper is 25 points. His class is straight forward.
The class itself is easy b/c material is easy. However, professor was not my favorite. Gave class a group project to work on w/barely any direction as to what is required of the project. Class time is mostly lecture. Guest lectures on some days. About a dozen quizzes. 2 midterms (make sure to read book). final exam. Students give article reviews
A group project, Extra credit, no homework, 10 quizzes, and 3 exams. A standard business course. I would recommend this class. It is not an easy A and you do have to study but you will definitely pass if you try. He is not best at lecturing but is open to good discussion in office hours. Overall a very nice guy and makes jokes.
Group project worth most of your grade, find good teams. Drops lowest quiz and lowest mid term, has extra credit. Average professor. Takes forever to grade assignments and takes forever to input grades.
Found it extremely easy in the beginning but ended up doing badly towards the end of the class. Exams are tricky because they often require you, apply what you read but a lot of the terms are very similar so it can be either or. Lectures are a bit boring and he gets upset if he suspects you are texting. Careful selecting members for the project.
Took this in summer and it was okay. The material isn't hard but his exams are a kind of tricky. Hard to connect with him because he's socially awkward but other wise easy B but hard to get an A. I would recommend him because he is Laid Back compared to other professors
As long as you attend class everyday and read/skim the assigned textbook chapters and notes you'll do just fine for the quizzes and exams. Make sure to attend office hours for any clarity, Forman is very helpful with any questions you bring him. For group projects, START EARLY, DON'T WAIT TIL LAST MIN. YOU WILL REGRET IT.
Do not take this class! It is a review of marketing 351 with sports added to the end of each definition. He reads straight off the textbook powerpoint and does not give much insight. Project is a joke and most of the speakers end up cancelling so he cancels class after you show up. Nothing like sports marketing , but an easy A/B,Waste of time tho
As long as you keep up to date with the material, you'll do well. His pop quizzes are based on his lecture slides and the definitions in the book. If you complete the work and put effort, it is an easier class compared to others.
He is an awesome professor, i really recommend this class. 2 midterms you can drop the worse one, and 6 quizzes could drop one also. The important thing is all the papers can be rewrite if you don't satisfy with the grades. It seems like a lot of assignments, but it is easy to get a A. Don't give up.
A teacher who doesnt want to teach so he doesnt. Who has no expirence in the field Who hates showing up to class Who makes you take quizzes on material not covered. That sums up this class.
He refuses to update the chapter numbers from the new version of the book, so the syllabus will tell you you're being tested on the wrong information. His slides do not match the textbook. Also, if you attempt to ask for clarification, you end up more confused and belittled. Also don't expect him to pretend to be entertained by your presentation.
Anyone complaining is literally just lazy and doesnt wanna spend 10 minutes studying. Ive had 3 classes with this professor & theyre literally SO EASY. quizes are just vocab from the summary of each chapter & he lets you rewrite ANYTHING to better your grade. TAKE HIM!! 25 points of extra credit for all classes if you do an assignment/field trip:)
He has pop quizzes that are literally definitions from his powerpoint. Group project is simple and he is a fair grader. Test has no trick questions to it; pure vocabulary that is asked on test. Gives tone of EC. Summer session gave 75 points if whole class can last all semester without using phone. but we did not get. Take and you wont regret.
DO NOT TAKE ONLINE. COVID-19 caused chaos and he has not responded to emails and is impossible to work with. He refuses to hold weekly zooms and does not post the lengthy lectures in a timely manner. The project would probably be on in class setting but has turned horrible due to online classes. In person hes ok to take. Online avoid. Easy quizzes
Very knowledgeable lecture and slide based, heavy. Tad boring. pop quizzes, very nice professor .
While the dry content of this class is extremely easy, Professor Foreman's delivery makes it unbearable. Examples and visuals are extremely dated. Group Project has a presentation that is not worth points and was graded rather fast due to COVID. Almost no communication with the professor. If you absolutley need to take MKTG 351 go for it, I'd avoid
The transition from campus to fully online was NOT a smooth one. Had to watch long & boring You Tube videos of his lectures. Made us present our group project through Zoom for absolutely no credit. Tough grader on the group project. The "study guides" that he posted were not helpful at all, none of it was on any of the exams. BLAH BLAH BLAH
This is the laziest and worst professor I've had in my three years at CSUF. He would get irritated whenever students had questions on zoom, and the group project had 0 guidelines at all. Luckily, one groupmate knew how to do marketing plans. He does not reply to e-mails. The exams were fairly difficult and completely based on the book and movies.
Worst online professor ive had so far. Extremely lazy with lectures, poorly organized, and seemed to care very little for his students. Would get annoyed with any questions and would end the class before anyone had the opportunity to ask any. Emailed him a question about the project and he didnt respond for a month, one week before it was due.
Do yourself a favor and don't take him no matter what. useless Study Guide, exam sare based on everything he talks about and he doesn't talk about, as long as it's in the book he will add it.
Super boring lectures. Attendance doesn't matter. Quiz almost every week on the vocab for the chapter he'll lecture on that day. Tests are way harder than they need to be. No notes or book allowed. Apparently ppl cheated and now he's going to proctor everything. Lazy too, lots of classes you just watch youtube or a movie.
This guy is hysterical! He tells you on the first day that it is hard to fail his class. Why wouldn't you take him!? Pick a good group because you will have 4 group projects. You can drop one of the quizzes and the quizzes are fairly easy if you actually read the book (I didn't and still got an A). Pick him, you won't go wrong. Extra credit too!
Howard Forman is honestly my least favorite professor at CSUF. The guy is not interesting whatsover, is EXTREMELY unorganized, and honestly responds with smart-ass comments when asked a question. The guy does not give clear instructions and honestly does not reply quickly to emails... DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Its hard to access professor Forman at times but does reply to important emails. Overall Professor Forman is very knowleadgable about his subject and if you focus on lecture, he makes it easy to understand even the hardest parts. As far as grading, you'll definitely have to work for b grade. Study guides are somewhat useful.
I took this class during the summer. Homework was tedious. Lectures were pointless if you did the homework. I would show up on zoom and mute him to do other homework. He's very boring. Group project was easy and everything was laid out for you. Quizzes were at the beginning of class so you could NOT be late. Exams were easy if you did the homework.
HORRIBLE! He is so unorganized! I feel like I haven't learned ANYTHING! I feel like his lectures is him just talking and he doesn't make any good points. So annoying just sitting there and not knowing what is going on. I wish he wasn't the only one teaching this subject. Waste of time and waste of money
Beware this Professor does not respond on time. Emailing to contact him is useless. He does not respond to emails. Only a few have said they got a response however I and many others have not. The course is text heavy. If you dont read you will not pass. Not much of study guides either. Would give a 0 is possible. Good luck.
This is the worst class I have ever taken! Has no organization skills and lectures feel so pointless. He gives no clear directions. Doesn't know how to use Canvas properly. Expects you to just understand what he throws at you. You are pretty much teaching yourself. He doesn't seem to care that his students are struggling and confused. Can't email.
this class is unnecessarily hard for what it is. pop quizzes basically every week based on chapter vocab. quizzes you on 10 words out of the 100+ you studied. 50/50 for answering emails. midterms are ridiculously hard, and his study guides ARE NOT helpful. from the bottom of my heart, avoid this man
I'm SO disappointing taking him as a selective class. Seriously I learn NOTHING from his class. LOT of quizzes, 2 midterms & FINAL. Very boring teacher & mostly just listening to classmate presentations. Prepare to study week for the quiz. HE never go over his quizze. HE's so disorganized with his lectures notes & reposts his syllabus 3 times.
The textbook is $200! He makes it seem like it is crucial to pass his class, but guess what its a waste of money. He doesn't lecture properly at all. The material is not hard at all, but he makes it hard and boring. You can literally see a majority of class doing literally anything else b/c his lectures are pointless. My advice is don't take him!
the most unorganized class i've ever taken in my entire college career. he administers several pop quizzes, 2 midterms, a group project, HW on GRL, and the final. the course content isn't hard, but he makes the midterm questions unnecessarily difficult. his lectures are extremely boring and can't seem to use his time wisely enough (2 hr class).
The only thing you need to know is DO NOT TAKE HIM. Do yourself that favor and dont do it. If theres literally no one else to take, dont do it and just take another class or no class at all. Trust me, this class is hopeless.
Quite possibly the worst professor I've ever had. He is very rude and sarcastic, and the lectures are terribly boring. Pop-quiz before almost every class, and he expects you to memorize all key terms BEFORE you discuss them in class. If you take him, do all HW (extra credit offered) and memorize key terms, you should get by with a B.
The worst teacher to probably exist at this school. Lazy to teach and rude to students who are actually trying. I have no idea how he is able to say he is a teacher. There is no learning from this man!
If you planning to take him, prepare to deal with his poor attitude+never really teach class materials MOSTLY u will self-learn, self-reading. Believe me. This's probably the waste professor I have ever had in my college experience. I don't even know how he gets his professor job in the first place. Honestly disappointed to be in his class :/
Worst class ever! His teaching skills are horrible. Very unorganized and can be rude. You dont learn anything at all. I waited for the day for the semester to be over. I couldnt take it anymore. It was a bad experience. The material is not hard, but he makes learning just horrible. Dont take him!
Seriously don't take this professor, I took this class with an open mind and I'm beyond disappointed. It's not just how this professor grades, but his behavior towards students. I've tried emailing & explaining to this professor my situation and there's no leveling with this person. Unbelievable on all fronts, I repeat DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.
A difficult person to work with. Doesnt seem to care for what he does or his students. It was a frustrating and stressful semester. It was a experience like no other and I really hope I never have to take him again.
Howard Forman will go down as a legend but his class will get boring
The people complaining about this professor are the ones who refuse to pay attention in class or read the book (dealt with them first hand in this class). Stop expecting an easy handout with the grades. Pay attention and do all the work and study, he’s a pretty lenient grader too with the group project. He’s also funny!
I am not sure what these people are saying. Professor Forman is great. He is knowledgable, approachable and funny. He also has the coolest office. Tests can be a challenge but he's an easy grader on the project. I recommend him and will take him in the future.
He wasn't too bad. At first I didn't like him because he seemed a bit mean but he grew on me by the end. The class consist of mandatory weekly quizzes (you have to study). 3 exams and he drops 1 ( must study pretty hard to receive decent score). a group project and online homework. The class isn't too hard but the professor can be rude.
Boring lectures that give no new information from the textbooks. Very outdated power points. Questions on quizzes have only something to do with definitions and not how good your understanding of the topics is. Puts on two movies from the 80's as material for exams. Would never recommend this professor
Worst professor I've taken at CSUF, terribly designed quizzes that test your memorization rather than knowledge. The final exam was worse as it referenced random statistical numbers/information that he mentioned only briefly during class.
Wow, can't believe the complaints. Just finished the class and it rocked. I got extra credit points just for staying in class. I guess some people left early and were angry they didn't get the points. Oh well. I now have better taste in music and learned a lot about marketing. In fact, I'm changing my major to marketing.
It seems like this professor intentionally structures his course in order to spite his students. As other students here mentioned, he had nonsensical questions on the final exam that had nothing to do with the course material. For example, there was a question about how many times "woo woo" was said in a Rolling Stones song. This is not a joke.
So Professor Forman told us that the Stones question was going to be on the exam. He repeated it. He repeated statistics. He's funny and all he cared about was the students. I stayed in class, got the bonus points and learned a lot. If you don't study, read the book, or pay attention in class, you will do lousy. What else is new?
Trust me you dont want to take his class. The class is basically you learning from watching online videos that you have to BUY access for the course. Although the videos are the only source of learning you will get for the course as his lectures are borderline useless as he pretty much babbles on and on about some random stuff
There are 6 pop quizzes on the vocab from each chapter - quizzed before the lecture. Reading is mandatory if you want to do well in the class. The lectures are ok but not overly exciting.
pay extra attention to random statistics about random companies during those 3 hour lectures, and pay attention to details during movies. the tests are heavily based on these. class is memorization heavy rather than concept heavy (especially for pop quizzes). if you only study powerpoint slides and the book, you will not do well on exams.
I dont know why he got good reviews. i took his class because the reviews of his class are nice but it was a nightmare. He is very lazy to grade your marketing plan, and it turns at the end of semester 60% of student in the class got an F. He never give the reason, he wont reply your email, HE IS TOUGH GRADER. WORST PROFESSOR!!
He is a bad professor!!! Unorganized, heavy test, wont reply your email. The attandance is not mandatory and his class were boring. I attended his class usually and focus on what he said but still got an C. he is really a tough grader, the marketing plan is a hell. He will give you a bad grade with no explanation. Please dont take him!!
Usually, take Zoom instead of in person because of late hours. Having the group project from the beginning of the semester. Just take him if you must take for GE class.
Great professor. Funny, caring and very easy to communicate with.
Show up to every class because the professor will use real-life examples from videos or personal experiences that will show up as exam questions. The professor is not good at responding to emails, and his Canvas is unorganized. Exams were online. If I could give one suggestion to the professor: Create mini-deadlines for the semester project.
Expect to read a lot and show up to lectures as 30-50% of exam questions come from lecture. Pop quizzes will be common so must read per syllabus. Work on marketing project throughout semester and do not wait last minute. This is a self paste course and if you need to be told what to do this is not the class for you. Solid straight shoot professor.
He loves to talk about his distillery and gets off-topic often about his own stories. You must self-learn the chapters first before taking the quiz which is taken the beginning of class as it is about chapters of that day. There is one group project with minimal information and he is not specific about whats required, it is very broad.
He knows what he's talking about; he just doesn't know how to lecture the class with his knowledge. Beware of random pop-quizzes; there are 6 in total for the semester. Overall, a messy professor and his study guides are nothing like the exams. Lectures are not engaging, but he drops one low score from midterm and quiz.
I have never wrote a review before on here but I wanted to save future students. This teacher is absolutely terrible. The questions on the exam have nothing to do with marketing and all to do with how much you remember from in class videos. The instructions for the project are 365 pages (not joking). Do not take this class, you will regret it!
Major project in class. Professor provides many examples and guidelines including a reference book on writing marketing plans which included several marketing plan examples. It's a reference book, in addition to all the other guides. You didn't need to read whole thing. Duh. And by the way, professor was funny.
Ignore the suspicious glazing reviews that give 5 "Awesome" review. Half of the people in the class reported him to the dean. Material is not basic. What makes the class hard is the professor. Misleading instructions for project if you use wrong format you will not get higher than a C, quizzes on material he hasnt taught, exam with bad questions.
I really enjoyed this professor's lectures and thought they were engaging. The big project was straightforward as well. However, the exams were stupid. His study guide was not helpful. If you're going to give a study guide, make it thorough or don't give one. There was so much material not covered by it. Luckily, exams aren't much of the grade.
DO NOT TAKE! Exams are nothing like study guides, lots of pop quizzes that really affect your grade. No structure to the class. Huge group project with absolutely no mention of it in class. Talks more about personal anecdotes than actual material.
Charismatic personality but he talks too much. Lectures are long and boring. He'll take up the whole 2 hour 45 minute class period. Pop quiz nearly every class. Tests are in-class and on a scantron. He drops your worst test score. He's a nice man but he does not make the material engaging. Try not to take this class at night.
Long, boring and not helpful lectures. Unfortunately, this class is outdated. Tests: not easy to get high grade not only talking about 100%.
Do not ever dare to take this professor. There is a pop quiz every class. No one knows what to expect from this professor. No one knows how to study for his exam. All of his exams seem to be on his lectures. Even the things he said were on the exam were not on there. The exams have so many spelling or typo errors. WORST PROFESSOR OF ALL TIME.
There's really not much to say, if you look at all of the 1 star ratings there's a trend you begin to see. There's no way to prepare for the exams, and contradicting sets of instructions on the group marketing plan. One telling you a very specific format while the other tells you to do the exact opposite.
Don't take him. Pop quizzes of that days material. Study guides were not helpful at all. They're based off of what he says in class. He said to just figure out the group project yourselves and if you were to do this for a job they wouldn't guide you. Well he didn't either and he still took off points for structure.
What a bunch of whiners! Dude gave tons of examples for the group project, detailed structure stuff and answered all our questions and even posted surveys for us. Needed to pay attention and take good notes. I had a study partner and it helped. Don't want to work and learn something, then don't take. Changing my major to Marketing.
This class can be a mixed bag. The professor's lectures can be engaging, but the exams and project instructions can be overly complex. unstuck study was a lifesaver for exam prep. Overall, it's a challenging but manageable course with the right study strategies.
If you noticed that one recent 5 star is probably from one of those students that think he's
Great prof! He gives 50 points if class doesn't use phone. We got it! Guess poor bro didn't.
Hated when people were on their phones, but other wise lectures were fine although he makes you stay the whole 2.5 hours of class. offers a bunch of extra credit.
Funny, interesting class. Got extra points for not looking at phones! Highly recommend.
The exams are on lecture material and you need to know niche details from the lectures. You HAVE to pay attention. He is good at lecturing, interesting to listen to. He doesn't reply to emails and didn't show up to a lecture without warning. One group project, work on it early so you don't have to pile it on late.
The tests he provides do not alway cover topics relevent to the class. He has called off class once already and did not bother to show up for another one recently without giving any notifications to the students. I would highly advise only choosing this professor if this is your last option available.
this dude made us take quizzes on material he didn't even teach us yet. he makes us read the slides first, study them, take a surprise quiz on them, and THEN he reads the slides in class after.
Previous comment: this dude made us take quizzes on material he didn't even teach us yet. YES AND THEY ARE VOCABULARY QUIZZES...DUH. I got 50 points on all my quizzes. It is like taking vocab tests in high school. Easiest 25% of my grade in any class.
This professor is truly awful. Didn't show up to class, and never said anything. He took an entire week to respond to anyone via email. His canvas is a mess, and his instructions on the massive group project are vague and unhelpful. Lecture-heavy and quiz-heavy. Maybe he's been better in previous years, but he's the worst professor I've ever had.
Just look at the only comments that have 5.0 quality and tell me that's not him. Do you guys want a petty professor? I don't think so.
Tests don't follow the lecture. Expects us to memorize niche parts of lecture. For example, one test question was "What brand shoes did so and so buy for his wife in the movie". How does that have anything to do with marketing concepts?? I have always been a straight-A student and dont mind tough professors. This guy isnt tough, he is impossible.
Every single 5-star rating is so obviously written by himself.
I'm on the verge of dropping this class. He asks us questions that are VERY irrelevant to Marketing and expects us to remember every single niche detail of every lecture that he gives. The Marketing Plan project on top of that makes ZERO sense whatsoever and he barely gives us a plan. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
He's a good guy but not a very good teacher, he'll give you a study guide and the guide won't teach you or help you on the exam. You basically gotta teach yourself everything. He's not a very great professor when it comes to grading and he doesn't know what he's doing half the time, take someone else it's not worth the trouble tbh.
By far one of the worst professors Ive had. Pop quizzes are vocab not a big deal at first, 1-2 chs w/50 words but when he cancels class (or forgets to show up, doesn't tell the class then ghost us for 5 days) vocab can be up to 4chs w/100+ words. No instructions on project due at the end of semester mentioned it once and never brought it up again
Don't take this class even if last resource. If you HAVEto, recommendations: GRL finishasap. Study the SLIDES for popquizzes and create a google doc with each one of them so you can review for the final; midterms have a COUPLE of questions NOT related to marketing, pay attention to every stupid thing he says in class. Even what actors are wearing..
If you find yourself in this class, I recommend that you drop and add another section. It is not necessarily hard to get a good grade, but it will cause immense anguish. His canvas page is the worst I have ever seen. Pop quizzes are ambiguous in wording, and the lectures can be said in half the words.
Professor is knowledgable about material, but tends to talk endlessly without truly allowing students to digest the information. Requires lengthy reading of the subject prior to the lecture in which it will be discussed in. Was responsive to emails towards the end of the semester. Exams are hard and majority of the class didn't do well on exams.
I usually always give benefit of the doubt to professors. This class was so incredibly difficult, there was no structure. The readings did not even match the slides he goes over in class. The quizzes I will admit are easy points but the exams and the marketing plan are so difficult. Avoid at all costs, WORST professor I've had. 5 star ratings r him
Truly one of the worker professors I have ever had. Didn't show up the first day of school with no explanation. Spent the next 3 class periods at the start at the semester promoting his personal alcohol company rather than introduce us to the course. Pop quizzes are given on material he has not covered and it doesn't align with the textbook at all.
Toughest class ive taken so far.
Workload of the class and assignments are relatively easy but the exams are impossible. I am usually a straight A student and dedicate a lot of time to study but he asks the most insane niche questions on exams that have nothing to do with marketing knowledge which prob make up 25% of the exam questions. Do NOT take.
I'm sure he's a nice guy and prob has decent intentions but he's the type of prof who is doing this for the check. Doesn't really put much effort into making marketing engaging. Exams have nothing to do with what he provides for study guide and his Canvas and class is so unstructured. You have to teach yourself everything and get lucky.
